Reproducible Validation of Voucher-Based L2 Interoperability: Diagnosing an ERC-4337 Compatibility Issue in an EIL SDK Implementation

Ethereum Layer-2 (L2) ecosystems improve scalability but also fragment users, liquidity, gas funding, and execution across rollups. Consequently, cross-rollup interoperability is not only a bridging problem but also a wallet, execution, and validation problem. Ethereum Interop Layer (EIL) proposes a voucher-based architecture in which users create voucher requests on an origin chain and redeem XLP-signed vouchers on a destination chain. When reproducing the evaluated SDK version in a controlled local environment, we observed a compatibility issue in the \texttt{UserOperation} path: paymaster-related data can differ after signing, preventing a stable comparison between the user-authorized representation and the representation later inspected by the local validation flow. This paper presents a reproducible two-L2 validation framework and a controlled compatibility mitigation for that issue. We build a deterministic local testbed over Arbitrum- and Optimism-style development chains, deploy the core paymaster and bridge-related components, implement mock bundlers and event-driven XLP providers, and introduce a sanitized paymaster-data handling path together with a compatible multichain account wrapper. Using this framework, we execute the core voucher lifecycle from request creation to destination-chain voucher redemption and asset release. The contribution is an empirical diagnosis of an implementation-level compatibility barrier, a bounded mitigation that restores controlled end-to-end execution, and an inspectable validation artifact for studying voucher-based interoperability. The work does not claim a new interoperability protocol, universal wallet compatibility, or production readiness; it identifies the remaining gaps toward standard-account validation, one-signature multichain authorization, and full dispute-settlement support.

Automated Analysis of DFT Output Files for Molecular Descriptor Extraction and Reactivity Modeling

Understanding the relationship between molecular structure and chemical reactivity or properties is fundamental to rational molecular design. Linear free energy relationships (LFERs), particularly Hammett analysis, have long served as powerful tools in organic chemistry. Recently, these approaches have been enhanced by incorporating computationally derived parameters, enabling broader applicability across diverse molecules and reactions. To facilitate and scale this process, we present DFTDescriptorPipeline, a fully automated workflow for extracting quantum chemical descriptors from Gaussian log files and constructing structure-property and structure-reactivity relationships using multivariate linear regression (MLR) models. We validate the workflow across four case studies, including photoswitchable molecules and catalytic reactions. In each case, the models provide interpretable results, demonstrating the versatility of this approach and its relevance to a wide range of chemical contexts. We anticipate that this platform will serve as a generalizable framework for integrating quantum chemical calculations into data-driven molecular design.

Quantum-Enhanced Forecasting for Deep Reinforcement Learning in Algorithmic Trading

The convergence of quantum-inspired neural networks and deep reinforcement learning offers a promising avenue for financial trading. We implemented a trading agent for USD/TWD by integrating Quantum Long Short-Term Memory (QLSTM) for short-term trend prediction with Quantum Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic (QA3C), a quantum-enhanced variant of the classical A3C. Trained on data from 2000-01-01 to 2025-04-30 (80\% training, 20\% testing), the long-only agent achieves 11.87\% return over around 5 years with 0.92\% max drawdown, outperforming several currency ETFs. We detail state design (QLSTM features and indicators), reward function for trend-following/risk control, and multi-core training. Results show hybrid models yield competitive FX trading performance. Implications include QLSTM's effectiveness for small-profit trades with tight risk and future enhancements. Key hyperparameters: QLSTM sequence length$=$4, QA3C workers$=$8. Limitations: classical quantum simulation and simplified strategy. \footnote{The views expressed in this article are those of the authors and do not represent the views of Wells Fargo. Fibration structure in toric hypersurface Calabi-Yau threefolds

We find through a systematic analysis that all but 29,223 of the 473.8 million 4D reflexive polytopes found by Kreuzer and Skarke have a 2D reflexive subpolytope. Such a subpolytope is generally associated with the presence of an elliptic or genus one fibration in the corresponding birational equivalence class of Calabi-Yau threefolds. This extends the growing body of evidence that most Calabi-Yau threefolds have an elliptically fibered phase.

Comparing elliptic and toric hypersurface Calabi-Yau threefolds at large Hodge numbers

We compare the sets of Calabi-Yau threefolds with large Hodge numbers that are constructed using toric hypersurface methods with those can be constructed as elliptic fibrations using Weierstrass model techniques motivated by F-theory. There is a close correspondence between the structure of "tops" in the toric polytope construction and Tate form tunings of Weierstrass models for elliptic fibrations. We find that all of the Hodge number pairs ($h^{1, 1},h^{2, 1}$) with $h^{1,1}$ or $h^{2, 1}\geq 240$ that are associated with threefolds in the Kreuzer-Skarke database can be realized explicitly by generic or tuned Weierstrass/Tate models for elliptic fibrations over complex base surfaces. This includes a relatively small number of somewhat exotic constructions, including elliptic fibrations over non-toric bases, models with new Tate tunings that can give rise to exotic matter in the 6D F-theory picture, tunings of gauge groups over non-toric curves, tunings with very large Hodge number shifts and associated nonabelian gauge groups, and tuned Mordell-Weil sections associated with U(1) factors in the corresponding 6D theory.

On the prevalence of elliptic and genus one fibrations among toric hypersurface Calabi-Yau threefolds

We systematically analyze the fibration structure of toric hypersurface Calabi-Yau threefolds with large and small Hodge numbers. We show that there are only four such Calabi-Yau threefolds with $h^{1, 1} \geq 140$ or $h^{2, 1} \geq 140$ that do not have manifest elliptic or genus one fibers arising from a fibration of the associated 4D polytope. There is a genus one fibration whenever either Hodge number is 150 or greater, and an elliptic fibration when either Hodge number is 228 or greater. We find that for small $h^{1, 1}$ the fraction of polytopes in the KS database that do not have a genus one or elliptic fibration drops exponentially as $h^{1,1}$ increases. We also consider the different toric fiber types that arise in the polytopes of elliptic Calabi-Yau threefolds.

Mirror symmetry and elliptic Calabi-Yau manifolds

We find that for many Calabi-Yau threefolds with elliptic or genus one fibrations mirror symmetry factorizes between the fiber and the base of the fibration. In the simplest examples, the generic CY elliptic fibration over any toric base surface $B$ that supports an elliptic Calabi-Yau threefold has a mirror that is an elliptic fibration over a dual toric base surface $\tilde{B}$ that is related through toric geometry to the line bundle $-6K_B$. The Kreuzer-Skarke database includes all these examples and gives a wide range of other more complicated constructions where mirror symmetry also factorizes. Since recent evidence suggests that most Calabi-Yau threefolds are elliptic or genus one fibered, this points to a new way of understanding mirror symmetry that may apply to a large fraction of smooth Calabi-Yau threefolds. The factorization structure identified here can also apply for Calabi-Yau manifolds of higher dimension.

Slow-Roll Inflation Preceded by a Topological Defect Phase à la Chaplygin Gas

We present a simple toy model corresponding to a network of frustrated topological defects of domain walls or cosmic strings that exist previous to the standard slow-roll inflationary era of the universe. Such a network (i) can produce a slower inflationary era than that of the standard scenario if it corresponds to a network of frustrated domain walls or (ii) can induce a vanishing universal acceleration; i.e., the universe would expand at a constant speed, if it corresponds to a network of frustrated cosmic strings red. Those features are phenomenologically modeled by a Chaplygin gas that can interpolate between a network of frustrated topological defects and a de Sitter-like or a power-law inflationary era. We show that this scenario can alleviate the quadruple anomaly of the cosmic microwave background spectrum. Using the method of the Bogoliubov coefficients, we obtain the spectrum of the gravitational waves as would be measured today for the whole range of frequencies. We comment on the possible detection of this spectrum by the planned detectors like BBO and DECIGO.
