Wellposedness of a nonlocal nonlinear diffusion equation of image processing

Existence and uniqueness are established for a degenerate regularization of the well-known Perona-Malik equation proposed by the first author for non-smooth initial data. The results heavily rely on the choice of appropriate functional setting inspired by a recent approach to degenerate parabolic equations via so-called singular Riemannian manifolds introduced by Herbert Amann.

Global solutions to the Porous medium equations on singular manifolds

The main objective of the present work is to discuss the global existence and stability of solutions to the porous medium equations on Riemannian manifolds with singularities. Several different types of solutions are considered. Our proof is based on a Poincare inequality on function space defined on manifolds with singularities.

Continuous maximal regularity on singular manifolds and its applications

In this article, we set up the continuous maximal regularity theory for a class of linear differential operators on manifolds with singularities. These operators exhibit degenerate or singular behaviors while approaching the singular ends. Particular examples of such operators include differential operators defined on domains, which degenerate fast enough toward the boundary. Applications of the theory established herein are shown to the Yamabe flow, the porous medium equation, the parabolic $p$-Laplacian equation and the thin film equation. Some comments about the boundary blow-up problem, and waiting time phenomena for singular or degenerate parabolic equations can also be found in this paper.

Singular parabolic equations of second order on manifolds with singularities

The main aim of this article is to establish an $L_p$-theory for elliptic operators on manifolds with singularities. The particular class of differential operators discussed herein may exhibit degenerate or singular behavior near the singular ends of the manifolds. Such a theory is of importance for the study of elliptic and parabolic equations on non-compact, or even incomplete manifolds, with or without boundary.

A family of parameter-dependent diffeomorphisms acting on function spaces over a Riemannian manifold and applications to geometric flows

It is the purpose of this article to establish a technical tool to study regularity of solutions to parabolic equations on manifolds. As applications of this technique, we prove that solutions to the Ricci-DeTurck flow, the surface diffusion flow and the mean curvature flow enjoy joint analyticity in time and space, and solutions to the Ricci flow admit temporal analyticity.

Continuous maximal regularity on uniformly regular Riemannian manifolds

We establish continuous maximal regularity results for parabolic differential operators acting on sections of tensor bundles on Riemannian manifolds. As an application, we show that solutions to the Yamabe flow instantaneously regularize and become real analytic in space and time. The regularity result is obtained by introducing a family of parameter-dependent diffeomorphims acting on functions over Riemannian manifolds in conjunction with maximal regularity and the implicit function theorem.

Real Analytic Solutions to the Willmore Flow

In this paper, a regularity result for the Willmore flow is presented. It is established by means of a truncated translation technique in conjunction with the Implicit Function Theorem.
