A Resonance Model for Spontaneous Cortical Activity

How human brain function emerges from structure has intrigued researchers for decades and numerous models have been put forward, yet none of them yields a close structure-function relation. Here we present a resonance model based on neuronal spike timing dependent plasticity (STDP) principle to describe the spontaneous cortical activity by incorporating the dynamic interactions between neuronal populations into a wave equation, which is able to accurately predict the resting brain functional connectivity (FC), including the resting-state networks. Besides, the proposed model provides strong theoretical and experimental evidences that the spontaneous dynamic coupling between brain regions fluctuates with a low frequency. Crucially, it is able to account for how the negative functional correlations emerge during resonance. We test the model with a large cohort of subjects (1038) from the Human Connectome Project (HCP) S1200 release in both time and frequency domain, which exhibits superior performance to existing eigen-decomposition models.

Decision-making of Emergent Incident based on P-MADDPG

In recent years, human casualties and damage to resources caused by emergent incidents have become a serious problem worldwide. In this paper, we model the emergency decision-making problem and use Multi-agent System (MAS) to solve the problem that the decision speed cannot keep up with the spreading speed. MAS can play an important role in the automated execution of these tasks to reduce mission completion time. In this paper, we propose a P-MADDPG algorithm to solve the emergency decision-making problem of emergent incidents, which predicts the nodes where an incident may occur in the next time by GRU model and makes decisions before the incident occurs, thus solving the problem that the decision speed cannot keep up with the spreading speed. A simulation environment was established for realistic scenarios, and three scenarios were selected to test the performance of P-MADDPG in emergency decision-making problems for emergent incidents: unmanned storage, factory assembly line, and civil airport baggage transportation. Simulation results using the P-MADDPG algorithm are compared with the greedy algorithm and the MADDPG algorithm, and the final experimental results show that the P-MADDPG algorithm converges faster and better than the other algorithms in scenarios of different sizes. This shows that the P-MADDP algorithm is effective for emergency decision-making in emergent incident.

Study on the anti-correlated painting injection scheme for the Rapid Cycling Synchrotron of the China Spallation Neutron Source

In the rapid cycling synchrotron of the China Spallation Neutron Source, the anti-correlated painting was adopted for the design scheme of the injection system. In the beam commissioning, with the optimization of the anti-correlated painting, the injection beam loss has been well controlled and the injection efficiency has exceeded 99%. Combined with other aspects of adjustments, the beam power on the target has reached 50 kW smoothly. In this paper, we have studied the injection optimization in the beam commissioning. Compared to the simulation results of the design scheme, the transverse beam distribution, transverse coupling effect and beam loss of the anti-correlated painting in the beam commissioning are somewhat different. Through the machine studies, we have carefully analyzed these differences and studied their reasons.

Multi-User Hybrid Precoding for Dynamic Subarrays in MmWave Massive MIMO Systems

Dynamic subarray achieves a compromise between sum rate and hardware complexity for millimeter wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems in which antenna elements are dynamically partitioned to radio frequency (RF) chain according to the channel state information.} However, multi-user hybrid precoding for the dynamic subarray is intractable to solve as the antenna partitioning would result in the user unfairness and multi-user interference (MUI). In this paper, a novel multi-user hybrid precoding framework is proposed for the dynamic subarray architecture. Different from the existing schemes, the base station (BS) firstly selects the multi-user set based on the analog effective channel. And then the antenna partitioning algorithm allocates each antenna element to RF chain according to the maximal increment of the signal to the interference noise ratio (SINR). Finally, the hybrid precoding is optimized for the dynamic subarray architecture. By calculating SINRs on the analog effective channels of the selected users, the antenna partitioning can greatly reduce computation complexity and the size of the search space. Moreover, it also guarantees the user fairness since each antenna element is allocated to acquire the maximal SINR increment of all selected users. \textcolor{blue}{Extensive simulation results demonstrate that both the energy efficiency and sum rate of the proposed solution obviously outperforms that of the fixed subarrays, and obtains higher energy efficiency with slight loss of sum rate compared with the fully-connected architecture.

Theoretical study of the dual harmonic system and its application on the CSNS/RCS

The dual harmonic system has been widely used in high intensity proton synchrotrons to suppress the space charge effect, as well as reduce the beam loss. To investigate the longitudinal beam dynamics in the dual rf system, the potential well, the sub-buckets in the bunch and the multi-solutions of the phase equation have been studied theoretically. Based on these theoretical studis, the optimization of bunching factor and rf voltage waveform are made for the dual harmonic rf system in the upgrade phase of the CSNS/RCS. In the optimization process, the simulation with space charge effect is done by using a newly developed code C-SCSIM.
