Ferroelectrical Switching as a Probe of Quantum Damping in Magnetic Spin Systems

While damped spin dynamics is important for the understanding of magnetic materials, clear signatures of \emph{quantum corrections} to the Gilbert damping mechanism remain elusive. We propose a route to distinguish quantum and classical Gilbert spin damping using ferroelectric control of a magnetic dimer. Ab initio calculations for dimers on ferroelectric substrates show that polarization reversal switches the inter-spin exchange between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic regimes. We formulate a magnetization-based diagnostic that relates magnetization traces to entanglement dynamics, which enables ferroelectrical on/off control of dimer entanglement. Material-informed quantum Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert simulations illustrate how the signature of magnetization dynamics can, in principle, be used to infer the existence of quantum Gilbert spin damping. This minimal and non-volatile platform connects first-principles modeling to experimentally accessible observables and provides a starting point for voltage-controlled quantum entanglement in magnetic spin networks.

Quantum Printing: Laguerre-Gaussian Beam Induced Topological Magnetic Textures

Structured light has become a practical tool for controlling matter by applying tailored, space- and time-dependent electromagnetic fields. We show that Laguerre-Gaussian pulses imprint non-collinear magnetic textures via the spatial structure of optical magnetic field. Our route offers a direct spatial selectivity determined by the optical features without relying on material anisotropic interactions. The proposed printing approach does not require interfacial anisotropy or bulk chirality, current-driven torques, or thermal quenching. We use micromagnetic simulations to demonstrate the potential to create topological charge density emerging during the pulse and reveal control through the optical topological properties and polarization. These results suggest structured-light quantum printing as a viable approach for magnonics and motivate studies toward reconfigurable topological textures enabled by ultrafast THz optics and non-thermal control.

Inequivalence of Landau-Lifshitz and Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert dynamics for a single quantum spin

We examine the relation between the quantum Landau-Lifshitz equation ($q$-LL) [Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 147201 (2013)] and quantum Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation ($q$-LLG) [Phys. Rev. Lett. 133, 266704 (2024)]; two non-linear purity preserving master equations that extend classical atomistic spin dynamics into the quantum regime. While the classical LL and LLG counterparts for any number of spins are known to be equivalent, i.e., give identical spin trajectories up to a rescaling of the time parameter, the quantum formulations are equivalent only in certain cases, such as for pure states or for arbitrary single spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ states. Here, we demonstrate that this equivalence breaks down even at the level of a single spin, provided $s \geq 1$. Focusing on a spin-1 particle in an anisotropic crystal field, we show that the $q$-LL and $q$-LLG equations generate inequivalent time evolution. We introduce temporal rescaling misfits that quantify the inequivalence of the two types of dynamics. Although our results highlight fundamental differences in dissipation mechanisms encoded in these equations, the resulting trajectories remain qualitatively similar for this system.

Quantum Printing

We introduce the concept of quantum printing -- the imprinting of quantum states from photons and phonons onto quantum matter. The discussion is focusing on charged fluids (metals, superconductors, Hall fluids) and neutral systems (magnets, excitons). We demonstrate how structured light can generate topological excitations, including vortices in superconductors and skyrmions in magnets. We also discuss how quantum printing induces magnetization in quantum paraelectrics and strain-mediated magnetization in Dirac materials. Finally, we propose future applications, such as printing entangled photon states, creating entangled topological excitations, and discuss applications of quantum printing to light induced quantum turbulence in a charged fluid. This review represents the expanded version of the shorter review submitted to Nature Physics.

Multipartite Entanglement Routing as a Hypergraph Immersion Problem

Multipartite entanglement, linking multiple nodes simultaneously, is a higher-order correlation that offers advantages over pairwise connections in quantum networks (QNs). Creating reliable, large-scale multipartite entanglement requires entanglement routing, a process that combines local, short-distance connections into a long-distance connection, which can be considered as a transformation of network topology. Here, we address the question of whether a QN can be topologically transformed into another via entanglement routing. Our key result is an exact mapping from multipartite entanglement routing to Nash-Williams's graph immersion problem, extended to hypergraphs. This generalized hypergraph immersion problem introduces a partial order between QN topologies, permitting certain topological transformations while precluding others, offering discerning insights into the design and manipulation of higher-order network topologies in QNs.

Quantum analog of Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert dynamics

The Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) and Landau-Lifshitz (LL) equations play an essential role for describing the dynamics of magnetization in solids. While a quantum analog of the LL dynamics has been proposed in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 147201 (2013)], the corresponding quantum version of LLG remains unknown. Here, we propose such a quantum LLG equation that inherently conserves purity of the quantum state. We examine the quantum LLG dynamics of a dimer consisting of two interacting spin-1/2 particles. Our analysis reveals that, in the case of ferromagnetic coupling, the evolution of initially uncorrelated spins mirrors the classical LLG dynamics. However, in the antiferromagnetic scenario, we observe pronounced deviations from classical behavior, underscoring the unique dynamics of becoming a spinless state, which is non-locally correlated. Moreover, when considering spins that are initially entangled, our study uncovers an unusual form of revival-type quantum correlation dynamics, which differs significantly from what is typically seen in open quantum systems.

Tunable phonon-driven magnon-magnon entanglement at room temperature

We report the existence of entangled steady-states in bipartite quantum magnonic systems at elevated temperatures. We consider dissipative dynamics of two magnon modes in a bipartite antiferromagnet, subjected to interaction with a phonon mode and an external rotating magnetic field. To quantify the bipartite magnon-magnon entanglement, we use entanglement negativity and compute its dependence on temperature and magnetic field. We provide evidence that the coupling between magnon and phonon modes is necessary for the entanglement, and that, for any given phonon frequency and magnon-phonon coupling rate, there are always ranges of the magnetic field amplitudes and frequencies for which magnon-magnon entanglement persists at room temperature.

Magnon-magnon entanglement and its detection in a microwave cavity

Quantum magnonics is an emerging research field, with great potential for applications in magnon based hybrid systems and quantum information processing. Quantum correlation, such as entanglement, is a central resource in many quantum information protocols that naturally comes about in any study toward quantum technologies. This applies also to quantum magnonics. Here, we investigate antiferromagnets in which sublattices with ferromagnetic interactions can have two different magnon modes, and we show how this may lead to experimentally detectable bipartite continuous variable magnon-magnon entanglement. The entanglement can be fully characterized via a single squeezing parameter, or, equivalently, entanglement parameter. The clear relation between the entanglement parameter and the Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen (EPR) function of the ground state opens up for experimental observation of magnon-magnon continuous variable entanglement and EPR non-locality. We propose a practical experimental realization to detect the EPR function of the ground state, in a setting that relies on magnon-photon interaction in a microwave cavity.

Hierarchy of magnon entanglement in antiferromagnets

Continuous variable entanglement between magnon modes in Heisenberg antiferromagnet with Dzyaloshinskii-Moryia (DM) interaction is examined. Different bosonic modes are identified, which allows to establish a hierarchy of magnon entanglement in the ground state. We argue that entanglement between magnon modes is determined by a simple lattice specific factor, together with the ratio of the strengths of the DM and Heisenberg exchange interactions, and that magnon entanglement can be detected by means of quantum homodyne techniques. As an illustration of the relevance of our findings for possible entanglement experiments in the solid state, a typical antiferromagnet with the perovskite crystal structure is considered, and it is shown that long wave length magnon modes have the highest degree of entanglement.
