The rate of Lp-convergence for the Euler-Maruyama method of the stochastic differential equations with Markovian switching

This work deals with the Euler-Maruyama (EM) scheme for stochastic differential equations with Markovian switching (SDEwMSs). We focus on the Lp-convergence rate (p is greater than or equal to 2) of the EM method given in this paper. As far as we know, the skeleton process of the Markov chain is used in the continuous numerical methods in most papers. By contrast, the continuous EM method in this paper is to use the Markov chain directly. To the best of our knowledge, there are only two papers that consider the rate of Lp-convergence, which is no more than 1/p (p is greater than or equal to 2) in these papers. The contribution of this paper is that the rate of Lp-convergence of the EM method can reach 1/2. We believe that the technique used in this paper to construct the EM method can also be used to construct other methods for SDEwMSs.

Observer-Based Coordinated Tracking Control for Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems with Intermittent Communication under Heterogeneous Coupling Framework

In this article, the observer-based coordinated tracking control problem for a class of nonlinear multi-agent systems(MASs) with intermittent communication and information constraints is studied under dynamic switching topology. First, a state observer is designed to estimate the unmeasurable actual state information in the system. Second, adjustable heterogeneous coupling weighting parameters are introduced in the dynamic switching topology, and the distributed coordinated tracking control protocol under heterogeneous coupling framework is proposed. Then, a new Lemma is constructed to realize the cooperative design of observer gain, state feedback gain and heterogeneous coupling gain matrices. Furthermore, the stability of the system is further proved, and the range of communication rate is obtained. On this basis, the intermittent communication mode is extended to three time interval cases, namely normal communication, leader-follower communication interruption and all agents communication interruption, and then the distributed coordinated tracking control method is improved to solve this problem. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted with nonlinear MASs to verify the correctness of methods.

Learning Efficient Representations for Enhanced Object Detection on Large-scene SAR Images

It is a challenging problem to detect and recognize targets on complex large-scene Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. Recently developed deep learning algorithms can automatically learn the intrinsic features of SAR images, but still have much room for improvement on large-scene SAR images with limited data. In this paper, based on learning representations and multi-scale features of SAR images, we propose an efficient and robust deep learning based target detection method. Especially, by leveraging the effectiveness of adversarial autoencoder (AAE) which influences the distribution of the investigated data explicitly, the raw SAR dataset is augmented into an enhanced version with a large quantity and diversity. Besides, an auto-labeling scheme is proposed to improve labeling efficiency. Finally, with jointly training small target chips and large-scene images, an integrated YOLO network combining non-maximum suppression on sub-images is used to realize multiple targets detection of high resolution images. The numerical experimental results on the MSTAR dataset show that our method can realize target detection and recognition on large-scene images accurately and efficiently. The superior anti-noise performance is also confirmed by experiments.

Magnetic-Field-Induced Spin Nematicity in FeSe1-xSx and FeSe1-yTey Superconductor Systems

The angular-dependent magnetoresistance (AMR) of the ab plane is measured on the single crystals of FeSe1-xSx (x = 0, 0.07, 0.13 and 1) and FeSe1-yTey (y = 0.06, 0.61 and 1) at various temperatures under fields up to 9 T. A pronounced twofold-anisotropic carrier-scattering effect is identified by AMR, and attributed to a magnetic-field-induced spin nematicity that emerges from the tetragonal normal-state regime below a characteristic temperature Tsn. This magnetically polarized spin nematicity is found to be ubiquitous in the isoelectronic FeSe1-xSx and FeSe1-yTey systems, no matter whether the sample shows an electronic nematic order at Ts < Tsn, or an antiferromagnetic order at TN < Tsn, or neither order. Importantly, we find that the isoelectronic substitution with sulfur does not suppress but even enhances the characteristic Tsn of the induced spin nematicity in FeSe1-xSx samples. This contrasts sharply with their rapidly suppressed Ts, the transition temperature of the spontaneous electronic nematicity. Furthermore, we find that the superconductivity is significantly suppressed with the enhancement of the induced spin nematicity in both FeSe1-xSx and FeSe1-yTey samples.

Evidence of a hidden flux phase in the topological kagome metal CsV$_3$Sb$_5$

Phase transitions governed by spontaneous time reversal symmetry breaking (TRSB) have long been sought in many quantum systems, including materials with anomalous Hall effect (AHE), cuprate high temperature superconductors, Iridates and so on. However, experimentally identifying such a phase transition is extremely challenging because the transition is hidden from many experimental probes. Here, using zero-field muon spin relaxation (ZF-$μ$SR) technique, we observe strong TRSB signals below 70 K in the newly discovered kagome superconductor CsV$_3$Sb$_5$. The TRSB state emerges from the 2 x 2 charge density wave (CDW) phase present below ~ 95 K. By carrying out optical second-harmonic generation (SHG) experiments, we also find that inversion symmetry is maintained in the temperature range of interest. Combining all the experimental results and symmetry constraints, we conclude that the interlayer coupled chiral flux phase (CFP) is the most promising candidate for the TRSB state among all theoretical proposals of orbital current orders. Thus, this prototypical kagome metal CsV3Sb5 can be a platform to establish a TRSB current-ordered state and explore its relationship with CDW, giant AHE, and superconductivity.

Semi-supervised Contrastive Learning with Similarity Co-calibration

Semi-supervised learning acts as an effective way to leverage massive unlabeled data. In this paper, we propose a novel training strategy, termed as Semi-supervised Contrastive Learning (SsCL), which combines the well-known contrastive loss in self-supervised learning with the cross entropy loss in semi-supervised learning, and jointly optimizes the two objectives in an end-to-end way. The highlight is that different from self-training based semi-supervised learning that conducts prediction and retraining over the same model weights, SsCL interchanges the predictions over the unlabeled data between the two branches, and thus formulates a co-calibration procedure, which we find is beneficial for better prediction and avoid being trapped in local minimum. Towards this goal, the contrastive loss branch models pairwise similarities among samples, using the nearest neighborhood generated from the cross entropy branch, and in turn calibrates the prediction distribution of the cross entropy branch with the contrastive similarity. We show that SsCL produces more discriminative representation and is beneficial to few shot learning. Notably, on ImageNet with ResNet50 as the backbone, SsCL achieves 60.2% and 72.1% top-1 accuracy with 1% and 10% labeled samples, respectively, which significantly outperforms the baseline, and is better than previous semi-supervised and self-supervised methods.

Unusual normal and superconducting state properties observed in hydrothermal Fe1-xSe flakes

The electronic and superconducting properties of Fe1-xSe single-crystal flakes grown hydrothermally are studied by the transport measurements under zero and high magnetic fields up to 38.5 T. The results contrast sharply with those previously reported for nematically ordered FeSe by chemical-vapor-transport (CVT) growth. No signature of the electronic nematicity, but an evident metal-to-nonmetal crossover with increasing temperature, is detected in the normal state of the present hydrothermal samples. Interestingly, a higher superconducting critical temperature Tc of 13.2 K is observed compared to a suppressed Tc of 9 K in the presence of the nematicity in the CVT FeSe. Moreover, the upper critical field in the zero-temperature limit is found to be isotropic with respect to the field direction and to reach a higher value of ~42 T, which breaks the Pauli limit by a factor of 1.8.

Anisotropic superconducting properties of Kagome metal CsV3Sb5

We systematically measure the superconducting (SC) and mixed state properties of high-quality CsV3Sb5 single crystals with Tc ~ 3.5 K. We find that the upper critical field Hc2(T) exhibits a large anisotropic ratio of Hc2^(ab)/Hc2^(c) ~ 9 at zero temperature and fitting its temperature dependence requires a minimum two-band effective model. Moreover, the ratio of the lower critical field, Hc1^(ab)/Hc1^(c), is also found to be larger than 1, which indicates that the in-plane energy dispersion is strongly renormalized near Fermi energy. Both Hc1(T) and SC diamagnetic signal are found to change little initially below Tc ~ 3.5 K and then to increase abruptly upon cooling to a characteristic temperature of ~2.8 K. Furthermore, we identify a two-fold anisotropy of in-plane angular-dependent magnetoresistance in the mixed state. Interestingly, we find that, below the same characteristic T ~ 2.8 K, the orientation of this two-fold anisotropy displays a peculiar twist by an angle of 60o characteristic of the Kagome geometry. Our results suggest an intriguing superconducting state emerging in the complex environment of Kagome lattice, which, at least, is partially driven by electron-electron correlation.

Distinctive momentum dependent charge-density-wave gap observed in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ superconductor with topological Kagome lattice

CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ is a newly discovered Kagome superconductor that attracts great interest due to its topological nontrivial band structure and the coexistence of superconductivity and charge-density-wave (CDW) with many exotic properties. Here, we report the detailed characterization of the CDW gap in high-quality CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ single crystals using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. We find that the CDW gap is strongly momentum dependent. While gapped around the $M$ point, the electronic states remain gapless around the $Γ$ point and along the $Γ$-$K$ direction. Such momentum dependence indicates that the CDW is driven by the scattering of electrons between neighboring $M$ points, where the band structure hosts multiple saddle points and the density of state diverges near the Fermi level. Our observations of the partially gapped Fermi surface and strongly momentum-dependent CDW gap not only provide a foundation for uncovering the mechanism of CDW in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$, but also shed light on the understanding of how the CDW coexists with superconductivity in this topological Kagome superconductor.

Steadily Learn to Drive with Virtual Memory

Reinforcement learning has shown great potential in developing high-level autonomous driving. However, for high-dimensional tasks, current RL methods suffer from low data efficiency and oscillation in the training process. This paper proposes an algorithm called Learn to drive with Virtual Memory (LVM) to overcome these problems. LVM compresses the high-dimensional information into compact latent states and learns a latent dynamic model to summarize the agent's experience. Various imagined latent trajectories are generated as virtual memory by the latent dynamic model. The policy is learned by propagating gradient through the learned latent model with the imagined latent trajectories and thus leads to high data efficiency. Furthermore, a double critic structure is designed to reduce the oscillation during the training process. The effectiveness of LVM is demonstrated by an image-input autonomous driving task, in which LVM outperforms the existing method in terms of data efficiency, learning stability, and control performance.

Gas-Vapor Interplay in Plasmonic Bubble Shrinkage

The understanding of the shrinkage dynamics of plasmonic bubbles formed around metallic nanoparticles immersed in liquid and irradiated by a resonant light source is crucial for the usage of these bubbles in numerous applications. In this paper we experimentally show and theoretically explain that a plasmonic bubble during its shrinkage undergoes two different phases: first, a rapid partial bubble shrinkage governed by vapor condensation and, second, a slow diffusion-controlled bubble dissolution. The history of the bubble formation plays an important role in the shrinkage dynamics during the first phase, as it determines the gas-vapor ratio in the bubble composition. Higher laser powers lead to more vaporous bubbles, while longer pulses and higher dissolved air concentrations lead to more gaseous bubbles. The dynamics of the second phase barely depends on the history of bubble formation, i.e. laser power and pulse duration, but strongly on the dissolved air concentration, which defines the concentration gradient at the bubble interface. Finally, for the bubble dissolution in the second phase, with decreasing dissolved air concentration, we observe a gradual transition from a $R(t) \propto (t_0 - t) ^{1/3}$ scaling law to a $R(t) \propto (t_0 - t) ^{1/2}$ scaling law, where $t_0$ is the lifetime of the bubble and theoretically explain this transition.

Scalable Entity Resolution Using Probabilistic Signatures on Parallel Databases

Accurate and efficient entity resolution is an open challenge of particular relevance to intelligence organisations that collect large datasets from disparate sources with differing levels of quality and standard. Starting from a first-principles formulation of entity resolution, this paper presents a novel Entity Resolution algorithm that introduces a data-driven blocking and record-linkage technique based on the probabilistic identification of entity signatures in data. The scalability and accuracy of the proposed algorithm are evaluated using benchmark datasets and shown to achieve state-of-the-art results. The proposed algorithm can be implemented simply on modern parallel databases, which allows it to be deployed with relative ease in large industrial applications.

Exploiting Redundancy, Recurrence and Parallelism: How to Link Millions of Addresses with Ten Lines of Code in Ten Minutes

Accurate and efficient record linkage is an open challenge of particular relevance to Australian Government Agencies, who recognise that so-called wicked social problems are best tackled by forming partnerships founded on large-scale data fusion. Names and addresses are the most common attributes on which data from different government agencies can be linked. In this paper, we focus on the problem of address linking. Linkage is particularly problematic when the data has significant quality issues. The most common approach for dealing with quality issues is to standardise raw data prior to linking. If a mistake is made in standardisation, however, it is usually impossible to recover from it to perform linkage correctly. This paper proposes a novel algorithm for address linking that is particularly practical for linking large disparate sets of addresses, being highly scalable, robust to data quality issues and simple to implement. It obviates the need for labour intensive and problematic address standardisation. We demonstrate the efficacy of the algorithm by matching two large address datasets from two government agencies with good accuracy and computational efficiency.

An Accurate and Real-time Self-blast Glass Insulator Location Method Based On Faster R-CNN and U-net with Aerial Images

The location of broken insulators in aerial images is a challenging task. This paper, focusing on the self-blast glass insulator, proposes a deep learning solution. We address the broken insulators location problem as a low signal-noise-ratio image location framework with two modules: 1) object detection based on Fast R-CNN, and 2) classification of pixels based on U-net. A diverse aerial image set of some grid in China is tested to validated the proposed approach. Furthermore, a comparison is made among different methods and the result shows that our approach is accurate and real-time.
