Systematic study of $D_{s0}^{*}$(2317) in quark models

Recently, the BES\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral3} Collaboration updated the data for the exotic state, $D^{*}_{s0}(2317)$, with a mass of $2318.3\pm1.2\pm1.2$ MeV from the positronium annihilation process. Inspired by the experiment, we systematically investigated the $c\bar{q}$ meson family spectrum from the perspectives of two-quark, four-quark, and mixed two-four-quark structures, including $D_s$, $D_s^{*}$, $D_{s0}^{*}(2317)$, and $D_{s1}(2460)$, with the help of the Gaussian expansion method, which is a very accurate calculation method for few-body systems. We found that with appropriate spin-orbit coupling parameter $a_s$, the chiral quark model can effectively describe both $D_{s0}^{*}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$. The four-quark calculation shows that the $DK$ state does not form a bound state, but the effective potential calculation shows an attractive interaction between them. Finally, we performed mixed two-four-quark calculations, and the results, with the help of the unquenched effect, show that the energies of $D_{s0}^{*}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ are in better agreement with experimental values. Therefore, we conclude that these two particles are good candidates for mixed two-four-quark states.

OCTOPINF: Workload-Aware Inference Serving for Edge Video Analytics

Edge Video Analytics (EVA) has gained significant attention as a major application of pervasive computing, enabling real-time visual processing. EVA pipelines, composed of deep neural networks (DNNs), typically demand efficient inference serving under stringent latency requirements, which is challenging due to the dynamic Edge environments (e.g., workload variability and network instability). Moreover, EVA pipelines also face significant resource contention caused by resource (e.g., GPU) constraints at the Edge. In this paper, we introduce OCTOPINF, a novel resource-efficient and workload-aware inference serving system designed for real-time EVA. OCTOPINF tackles the unique challenges of dynamic edge environments through fine-grained resource allocation, adaptive batching, and workload balancing between edge devices and servers. Furthermore, we propose a spatiotemporal scheduling algorithm that optimizes the co-location of inference tasks on GPUs, improving performance and ensuring service-level objectives (SLOs) compliance. Extensive evaluations on a real-world testbed demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. It achieves an effective throughput increase of up to 10x compared to the baselines and shows better robustness in challenging scenarios. OCTOPINF can be used for any DNN-based EVA inference task with minimal adaptation and is available at https://github.com/tungngreen/PipelineScheduler.

Search for singly charmed dibaryons in baryon-baryon scattering

We perform a systematical investigation of the singly charmed dibaryon system with strangeness numbers $S=-1$, $-3$ and $-5$ in the framework of the chiral quark model. Two resonance states with strangeness numbers $S=-1$ are obtained in the baryon-baryon scattering process. In the $ΛΛ_{c}$ scattering phase shifts, the $ΣΣ_{c}$ appears as a resonance state with the mass and width 3591 MeV and 11.1 MeV, respectively. In the $NΞ_{c}$ and $NΞ^{\prime}_{c}$ scattering phase shifts, the $ΣΣ^{\ast}_{c}$ exhibits as a resonance state with the mass and width 3621-3624 MeV and 14.9 MeV, respectively. All these heavy-flavor dibaryons are worth searching for in experiments. Besides, we would like to emphasize that the coupling calculation between the bound channels and open channels is indispensable. The study of the scattering process maybe an effective way to look for the genuine resonances.

Further study of $c\bar{c}c\bar{c}$ system within a chiral quark model

Inspired by the recent Altas and CMS experiments on the invariant mass spectrum of $J/ψJ/ψ$, we systematically study the $c\bar{c}c\bar{c}$ system of $J^{P}=0^{+}$. In the framework of chiral quark model, we have carried out bound-state calculation and resonance-state calculation respectively by using Real-scaling method. The results of bound-state calculation show that there are no bound states in the $c\bar{c}c\bar{c}$ with $0^{+}$ system. The resonance-state calculation shows that there are four possible stable resonances: $R(6920)$, $R(7000)$, $R(7080)$ and $R(7160)$. $R(6920)$ and $R(7160)$ are experimental candidates for $X(6900)$ and $X(7200)$, whose main decay channel is $J/ψJ/ψ$. It is important to note that the another major decay channel of $R(7160)$ is $χ_{c0} χ_{c0} $, and the $χ_{c0} χ_{c0} $ is also the main decay channel of $R(7000)$, $R(7080)$. Therefore, we propose to search experimentally for these two predicted resonances in the $χ_{c0} χ_{c0}$ invariant mass spectrum.

Equivalence among color singlet, color octet and diquark structure in a chiral quark model

Since the quark model was put forward, theoretical researchers have always attached great importance to the study of hidden color channels (including color octets and diquark structure). Because of the influence of color Van der waals forces, the hidden color channel itself has strong attraction, which provides a dynamic mechanism for the formation of resonance state or bound state. In this paper, taking the $T_{cc}$ system as an example, under the framework of multi-Gaussian expansion method, a set of relatively complete color singlets (that is, the ground state of the color singlet plus its corresponding higher-order component) is used to replace the contribution of the color octet. Similarly, we endeavor to replace the diquark structure with a relatively complete set of molecular states, encompassing both the ground state and excited states. Our results demonstrate that the color octet structure can be effectively replaced by a set of relatively complete color singlet bases, while the diquark structure cannot be entirely substituted by an equivalently comprehensive set of molecular state bases.

Exotic $Qq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ states in the chiral quark model

In the framework of the chiral quark model, we investigate the $Qq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ ($Q= c, b$ and $q= u, d$) tetraquark system with two structures: $Q\bar{q}$-$q\bar{q}$ and $Qq$-$\bar{q}\bar{q}$. The bound-state calculation shows that for the single channel, there is no evidence for any bound state below the minimum threshold in both $cq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ and $bq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ systems. However, after coupling all channels of two structures, we obtain a bound state below the minimum threshold in the $cq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ system with the energy of $1998$ MeV, and the quantum number is $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}0^{+}$. Meanwhile, in the $bq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ system, two bound states with energies of $5414$ MeV and $5456$ MeV are obtained, and the quantum numbers are $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}0^{+}$ and $IJ^{P}=\frac{1}{2}1^{+}$, respectively. Besides, we also employe the real-scaling method to search for resonance states in the $cq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ and $bq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ systems. Unfortunately, no genuine resonance states were obtained in both systems. We suggest future experiments to search for these three possible bound states.

Prediction of charmed-bottom pentaquarks in quark model

Inspired by the fully heavy tetraquark states reported by the LHCb, ATLAS and CMS Collaborations, we perform a systemical investigation of the low-lying fully heavy pentaquark systems composed of charm and bottom quarks (anti-quark) in the chiral quark model. With the help of the channel-coupling, we obtain several fully heavy pentaquark candidates, which are $cccc\bar{b}$ and $bbbb\bar{c}$ systems with $J^P = 1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$, $cccb\bar{c}$, $bbbc\bar{b}$, $cccb\bar{b}$ and $bbbc\bar{c}$ systems with $J^P = 5/2^-$. The binding energies of these states are all below 10 MeV and the root mean square (RMS) are around 1.8 fm, which indicates that these states are likely to be molecular states. These predicted exotic states may provide new ideas for experimental searches and we expect more experimental and theoretical researches to study and understand the fully heavy states in future.

Competent but Rigid: Identifying the Gap in Empowering AI to Participate Equally in Group Decision-Making

Existing research on human-AI collaborative decision-making focuses mainly on the interaction between AI and individual decision-makers. There is a limited understanding of how AI may perform in group decision-making. This paper presents a wizard-of-oz study in which two participants and an AI form a committee to rank three English essays. One novelty of our study is that we adopt a speculative design by endowing AI equal power to humans in group decision-making.We enable the AI to discuss and vote equally with other human members. We find that although the voice of AI is considered valuable, AI still plays a secondary role in the group because it cannot fully follow the dynamics of the discussion and make progressive contributions. Moreover, the divergent opinions of our participants regarding an "equal AI" shed light on the possible future of human-AI relations.

Molecular state interpretation of charmed baryons in the quark model

Stimulated by the observation of $Λ_c(2910)^+$ by the Belle Collaboration, the $S$-wave $qqq\bar{q}c~(q=u~\text{or}~d)$ pentaquark systems with $I$ = 0, $J^P$ = $\frac{1}{2}^-,~\frac{3}{2}^- and~\frac{5}{2}^-$ are investigated in the framework of quark delocalization color screening model(QDCSM). The real-scaling method is utilized to check the bound states and the genuine resonance states. The root mean square of cluster spacing is also calculated to study the structure of the states and estimate if the state is resonance state or not. The numerical results show that $Λ_{c}(2910)$ cannot be interpreted as a molecular state, and $Σ_{c}(2800)$ cannot be explained as the $ND$ molecular state with $J^P=1/2^-$. $Λ_{c}(2595)$ can be interpreted as the molecular state with $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^-$ and the main component is $Σ_{c}π$. $Λ_{c}(2625)$ can be interpreted as the molecular state with $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^-$ and the main component is $Σ_{c}^{*}π$. $Λ_{c}(2940)$ is likely to be interpreted as a molecular state with $J^P=3/2^-$, and the main component is $ND^{*}$. Besides, two new molecular states are predicted, one is the $J^P=3/2^-$ $Σ_{c}ρ$ resonance state with the mass around 3140 MeV, another one is the $J^P=\frac{5}{2}^-$ $Σ_{c}^*ρ$ with the mass of 3188.3 MeV.

The study of double-charm and double-strange tetraquarks

In the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model (QDCSM), we systematically investigate the double-charm and double-strange tetraquark systems $cc\bar{s}\bar{s}$ with two structures: meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark. The bound-state calculation shows that there is no any bound state in present work. However, by applying a stabilization calculation and coupling all channels of both two structures, two new resonance states with $IJ^{P}=00^{+}$ are obtained. One is more possible to be a molecular resonance state with a mass and width around $4256$ MeV and $60$ MeV, respectively; another one is more likely to be a compact resonance state with a mass and width around $4308$ MeV and $19$ MeV, respectively. Although no significant signals were observed in present experiment at the Belle collaboration, there is still some structures around $4.3$ GeV in the distributions of $M_{D^{+}_{s}D^{+}_{s}}$ and $M_{D^{*+}_{s}D^{*+}_{s}}$. We suggest that the experiment can be further tested with a larger amount of data.

Fully heavy pentaquarks in quark models

The fully heavy pentaquarks $cccc\bar{c}$ and $bbbb\bar{b}$ are systematically investigated within the chiral quark model and quark delocalization color screening model. The results are consistent in both two moelds, and the effect of the channel-coupling is crucial for forming a bound state of the fully heavy pentaquark system. Three possible fully heavy pentaquarks are obtained, which are the $cccc\bar{c}$ state with $J^P = 1/2^-$ and the mass of $7891.9 \sim 7892.7$ MeV, the $bbbb\bar{b}$ state with $J^P=1/2^-$ and the mass of $23810.1 \sim 23813.8$ MeV, and the $bbbb\bar{b}$ state with $J^P = 3/2^-$ and the mass of $23748.2 \sim 23752.3$ MeV. All these fully heavy pentaquark states are worth searching in future experiments.

Investigation of meson-meson interaction

In the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model, we investigate the meson-meson interaction in the fully light four-quark system . The calculation of the effective potentials of all the $S-$wave states shows that for most states the interaction between two vector mesons is attractive; the one between a pseudoscalar meson and a vector meson is repulsive or weakly attractive; and the one between two pseudoscalar mesons is always repulsive. However, there is still some exception. The interaction of the $IJ=00$ $ππ$ channel is attractive, while the one of the $IJ=02$ $ϕϕ$ channel is repulsive. So it is difficult to use the $S-$wave $ϕϕ$ state to explain the $X(2239)$ at present calculation. The $S-$wave $ρρ$ states are more likely to be resonance states, which are worthy of investigating in future work. The study of the contribution of each interaction term shows that both the one-gluon exchange and the kinetic energy interaction are important in the interaction between two mesons. The study of the variation of the delocalization parameter indicates that the contribution of the kinetic energy relates to the intermediate-range attraction mechanism in QDCSM, which is achieved by the quark delocalization.
