Cosmic Duality in Quintom Universe

In this paper we study the duality in two-field Quintom models of Dark Energy. We find that an expanding universe dominated by Quintom-A field is dual to a contracting universe with Quintom-B field.

Nearly Divergence of Correlation Length and Perturbation Spectrum in String Gas Cosmology

Recently, it has been shown in Ref.[1] that the string thermodynamic fluctuation may lead to a scale invariant spectrum of scalar metric perturbation. However, its realization is still in study. In this note we suppose that the correlation length of metric perturbation, which is proportional to the sound speed, might be nearly divergent at the critical point of phase transition. In this case we find that the string gas mechanism responsible for the generation of primordial perturbation may be applied well.

Two-Field Quintom Models in the w-w' Plane

The w-w' plane, defined by the equation of state parameter for the dark energy and its derivative with respect to the logarithm of the scale factor, is useful to the study of classifying the dynamical dark energy models. In this note, we examine the evolving behavior of the two-field quintom models with w crossing the w=-1 barrier in the w-w' plane. We find that these models can be divided into two categories, type A quintom in which w changes from >-1 to <-1 and type B quintom in which w changes from <-1 to >-1 as the universe expands.

On Primordial Perturbations of Test Scalar Fields

The primordial perturbations of test scalar fields not affecting the evolution of background may be very interesting since they can be transferred to the curvature perturbations by some mechanisms, and thus under certain condition can be responsible for the structure formation of observable universe. In this brief report we study the primordial perturbations of test scalar fields in various (super)accelerated expanding backgrounds.

On Perturbation Spectra of N-flation

In this note we study the adiabatic perturbation spectrum of N-flation with power law potential. We show that the scalar spectrum of N-flation is generally redder than that of its corresponding single field. The result obtained for that with unequal massive fields is consistent with the recent numerical investigation of Kim and Liddle.

Scalar Perturbation Spectra in an Emergent Cosmological Island

The possibility that the universe may have a fundamental and positive cosmological constant has motivated an interesting cosmological model, in which initially the universe is in a cosmological constant sea, then the local quantum fluctuations violating the null energy condition create some islands with matter and radiation, which under certain conditions might corresponds to our observable universe. We in this note study the perturbation spectra of scalar fields not affecting the evolution of background during the fluctuation. We will examine whether they can be interesting, and responsible for the structure formation of observable universe.

Entropy of Microwave Background Radiation in Observable Universe

We show that the cosmological constant at late time places a bound on the entropy of microwave background radiation deposited in the future event horizon of a given observer, $S\leq S_{Λ_0}^{3/4}$. This bound is independent of the energy scale of reheating and the FRW evolution after reheating. We also discuss why the entropy of microwave background in our observable universe has its present value.

Thermal Tachyon Cosmology

We show that in a multi DD branes system with high temperature, there may exist a thermal cosmological phase before usual tachyon inflation. Though this thermal phase can be very transitory, it may has some interesting applications for early tachyon/brane cosmology.

Gravitational Wave Background from Phantom Superinflation

Recently, the early superinflation driven by phantom field has been proposed and studied. The detection of primordial gravitational wave is an important means to know the state of very early universe. In this brief report we discuss in detail the gravitational wave background excited during the phantom superinflation.

Oscillating Quintom and the Recurrent Universe

Current observations seem to mildly favor an evolving dark energy with the equation of state getting across -1. This form of dark energy, dubbed Quintom, is studied phenomenologically in this paper with an oscillating equation of state. We find oscillating Quintom can unify the early inflation and current acceleration of the universe, leading to oscillations of the Hubble constant and a recurring universe. Our oscillating Quintom would not lead to a big crunch nor big rip. The scale factor keeps increasing from one period to another and leads naturally to a highly flat universe. The universe in this model recurs itself and we are only staying among one of the epochs, in which sense the coincidence problem is reconciled.

Is the island universe model consistent with observations?

We study the island universe model, in which initially the universe is in a cosmological constant sea, then the local quantum fluctuations violating the null energy condition create the islands of matter, some of which might corresponds to our observable universe. We examine the possibility that the island universe model is regarded as an alternative scenario of the origin of observable universe.

Attractor Behavior of Phantom Cosmology

We investigate the cosmological attractor of the minimally coupled, self-interacting phantom field with a positive energy density but negative pressure. It is proved that the phantom cosmology is rigid in the sense that there exists a unique attractor solution. We plot the trajectories in the phase space numerically for the phantom field with three typical potentials. Phase portraits indicate that an initial kinetic term decays rapidly and the trajectories reach the unique attractor curve. We find that the curve corresponds to the slow-climb solution.

Phantom Inflation and Primordial Perturbation Spectrum

In this paper we study the inflation model driven by the phantom field. We propose a possible exit from phantom inflation to our observational cosmology by introducing an additional normal scalar field, similar to hybrid inflation model. Then we discuss the primordial perturbation spectra from various phantom inflation models and give an interesting compare with those of normal scalar field inflation models.

Possible Explanation to Low CMB Quadrupole

The universe might experience many cycles with different vacua. The slow-roll inflation may be preceded by kinetic-dominated contraction occurring in "adjacent" vacua during some cycles. In this report we briefly show this phenomenon may lead to a cutoff of primordial power spectrum. Thus in some sense the CMB at large angular scale might encode the information of other vacua.

D/antiD Dark Energy in String Warped Compactification

We study the evolution of relic D3-branes after the D3/\bd-brane inflation in string warped compactification. The motion of D3-branes can be frozen under certain condition during the radiation/matter domination. These D3-branes can not be released until the D3/\bd-branes potential energy becomes dominated at late time. Subsequently they will move towards to \bd-branes, which play the role of uplifting AdS minimum to dS minimum, near the apex of throats. The annihilation of D3/\bd-branes leads to the disappearance of dS vacua. This process may be regarded as a rapid decay channel of present dS vacua. We discuss the parameter spaces required by this process and calculate the decay time.

Two-field Models of Dark Energy with Equation of State Across -1

In this paper, we study the possibility of building two-field models of dark energy with equation of state across -1. Specifically we will consider two classes of models: one consists of two scalar fields (Quintessence+Phantom) and another includes one scalar (Phantom) and one spinor field (Neutrino). Our studies indicate to some extent that two-field models give rise to a simple realization of the dynamical dark energy model with the equation of state across $w = -1$.

Inflation in Oscillating Universe

We make use of possible high energy correction to the Friedmann equation to implement the bounce and study the behavior of massive scalar field before and after bounce semianalytically and numerically. We find that the slow-roll inflation can be preceded by the kinetic dominated contraction. During this process, the field initially in the bottom of its potential can be driven by the anti-frictional force resulted from the contraction and roll up its potential hill, and when it rolls down after the bounce, it can driven a period inflation. The required e-folds number during the inflation limits the energy scale of bounce. Further unlike that expected, the field during the contraction can not be driven to arbitrary large value, even though the bounce occurs at Planck scale.
