Distributed Real-Time Cooperative Model Predictive Control

This paper presents a novel distributed real-time iterative method for cooperative linear Model Predictive Control (MPC) with polyhedral state and input constraints, implementing a relaxed, recentered logarithmic barrier function. The method transforms centralized MPC problems into a distributed framework using temporal-spatial splitting, facilitating efficient online implementation. To achieve real-time performance, we introduce a distributed convex nonlinear optimization solver with guaranteed global linear convergence. By executing this solver with a fixed number of iterations per sampling time, the resulting near-optimal MPC controller ensures closed-loop stability while maintaining fixed computational complexity. The proposed approach is validated through an illustrative example involving a spring-vehicle-damper system benchmark, demonstrating both its effectiveness and computational efficiency.

AdaM-Rec: Adaptive Modality Routing for Multimodal Recommendation

While recent multimodal recommender systems have demonstrated the effectiveness of incorporating visual and textual information to improve downstream performance, most existing methods rely on static modality fusion, assuming that the relative importance of textual and visual signals remains stable across recommendation scenarios. This design may not fully account for an important variation across recommendation requests: some queries require fine-grained visual cues, whereas others are better served by textual or functional semantics, in which case indiscriminate modality fusion brings in uninformative cues and impairs recommendation quality. To address this, we propose AdaM-Rec, an LLM-based framework for adaptive modality routing in multimodal recommendation, which enables dynamic calibration of reliance on textual and multimodal evidence for user-specific queries. Built on structured natural-language representations of items and user preferences, it estimates modality reliability using proxy recall tasks. Specifically, it generates pseudo-queries that match the granularity of the actual query while pointing to the user's positively interacted items as verifiable proxy targets, evaluating which modality yields better recall performance in analogous scenarios and optimizing the routing strategy in an agentic manner. It then performs routed recall with optimized strategy, enriches results with collaborative items, and ranks candidates by their relevance to both the query and user preferences. Experiments demonstrate that AdaM-Rec delivers strong performance against state-of-the-art baselines, highlighting the effectiveness and broader potential of adaptive control over modality reliance in multimodal recommendation.

Distributed Convex Second-Order Optimization for AC/DC Hybrid Distribution Systems within PROcess Orchestration Framework

Existing operation formulations for AC/DC distribution grid often oversimplify the interplay of AC/DC interconnections and VSC characteristics. Moreover, current distributed algorithms depend on gradient-based methods, which achieve only linear convergence rates and struggle to scale efficiently for large systems. This paper proposes a convex ALADIN variant that exploits second-order derivatives of convex subproblems, achieving locally quadratic convergence for distributed nonlinear but convex optimization problems. Then, this convex ALADIN is applied to a separable AC/DC OPF model for AC/DC hybrid distribution grid, explicitly incorporating complicated AC/DC interconnections and multiple droop-controlled VSCs while retaining computational traceability. To bridge theory with practice, we implement the distributed convex second-order optimization framework using the PROcess Orchestration Framework, a co-simulation platform that automates workflow design, model integration, and distributed execution via a user-friendly graphical interface, eliminating manual coding. Numerical results illustrate effectiveness of the proposed model.

Distributed AC Optimal Power Flow: A Scalable Solution for Large-Scale Problems

This paper introduces a novel distributed optimization framework for large-scale AC Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problems, offering both theoretical convergence guarantees and rapid convergence in practice. By integrating smoothing techniques and the Schur complement, the proposed approach addresses the scalability challenges and reduces communication overhead in distributed AC OPF. Additionally, optimal network decomposition enables efficient parallel processing under the single program multiple data (SPMD) paradigm. Extensive simulations on large-scale benchmarks across various operating scenarios indicate that the proposed framework outperforms the state-of-the-art centralized solver IPOPT on modest hardware. This paves the way for more scalable and efficient distributed optimization in future power system applications.

RecGPT-Mobile-V2 Technical Report

Personalized Query prediction maps implicit behavioral signals---clicks, favorites, purchases, and post-purchase exploration---to explicit retrieval intent. On-device deployment makes this task particularly challenging: behavioral trajectories are noisy and multi-scale, multiple Queries may be valid for a single trajectory, and a uniform reasoning policy either expends unnecessary computation on simple instances or allocates insufficient capacity to complex ones. We introduce RecGPT-Mobile-V2, an end-to-end framework that treats intent quality and execution efficiency as coupled objectives within a staged design. The framework transforms heterogeneous interactions into an evidence-preserving trajectory, establishes a recommendation-native foundation through domain adaptation and supervised alignment, and applies reasoning-cost optimization only after grouped rollouts meet grounding and utility criteria. The resulting teacher is distilled into a compact student deployed with low-bit execution, structured compression, and budget-aware device--cloud routing. In an aligned CoT ablation, an evidence-focused short rationale increases ROUGE-L from 0.228 to 0.315 and Jaccard from 0.174 to 0.248, while slightly outperforming the full five-stage rationale. In the controlled RL comparison, the complete reward formulation improves Query quality from 73.2% under quality-only RL to 78.6%, lowers the hard-failure rate from 3.6% to 1.6%, and reduces the median CoT length from 62 to 14 tokens. Online retrieval analysis further indicates that the Query recall channel retrieves inventory complementary to that surfaced by established recall channels. Collectively, these findings support sufficiency-oriented rather than uniformly short reasoning: retain decision-relevant evidence and allocate additional computation only when it is likely to improve the predicted Query.

DREAM Technical Report

Industrial recommender systems commonly use cascaded retrieval, ranking, and re-ranking pipelines. Although efficient, these pipelines fragment information and objectives across modules, rely on rigid rules, and have limited awareness of real-time intent, leaving session-level shifts among browsing, comparison, and purchase insufficiently addressed. We present DREAM (Developing Recommender Engine with Agentic Methods), an autonomous optimization control architecture that adds a perception-aware, orchestrable, and auditable policy layer atop existing pipelines without replacing them. DREAM has two core components. First, a three-tier Intent Engine fuses on-device signals into structured L0/L1/L2 intent representations; its edge-cloud trigger chain reduces reporting volume to approximately 8.7%. Second, a Meta Engine uses a MetaModel for layered M1-to-M2-to-M3 reasoning: intent summarization, strategy planning informed by Strategy Memory, and parameter translation. It dispatches the resulting parameters through a unified outlet with safety guardrails. A Reward Dual Loop continuously optimizes both components by combining offline simulation for strategy-space exploration with online feedback for outcome calibration, forming a cycle of generation, execution, evaluation, and experience accumulation. Large-scale A/B tests on Taobao's homepage feed show that re-ranking control alone improves IPV by 2.06%, Core IPV by 2.39%, and GMV by 0.88%. Extending control to fine ranking raises these gains to 2.71%, 3.06%, and 1.31%, respectively, while consistently improving PV by more than 1%. These gains require neither replacement of pipeline models nor compromise of serving stability, supporting agentic meta-control as a viable paradigm for industrial recommendation.

RecGPT-V3 Technical Report

Large language models (LLMs) are transforming recommender systems from matching co-occurrence patterns in historical behavior toward reasoning about the intent that drives it. RecGPT-V1 pioneered this paradigm on Taobao by centering user understanding, and RecGPT-V2 scaled it via coordinated multi-agent reasoning; both are deployed in production with consistent gains in user experience and commercial outcomes. However, operating RecGPT at scale reveals three challenges: (1) stateless behavior modeling, where each request reprocesses full user history, wasting computation and discarding prior analysis; (2) a tag-to-item information bottleneck, where natural-language tags form a lossy channel between user understanding and item grounding; and (3) inefficient explicit reasoning, whose lengthy chain-of-thought incurs untenable latency and compute overhead. We present RecGPT-V3, a stateful, hybrid-modal recommender that reasons over natural language for open-world knowledge and Semantic IDs (SIDs) for concrete item grounding. A Memory Hub maintains structured, continually evolving user memory that distills long-horizon behavior into condensed units, cutting user-modeling computation by 55.8%. A Hybrid-modal Foundation Model allows the LLM jointly reason over text tags and SIDs, opening a high-bandwidth channel into the item space. Latent Intent Reasoning internalizes verbose rationales into compact learnable latent tokens that remain decodable into readable explanations, lowering output token cost by 200x. Deployed in Taobao's "Guess What You Like" feed, RecGPT-V3 achieves consistent gains in large-scale online A/B tests: IPV +1.28%, CTR +1.00%, TC +1.97%, GMV +3.97%, while cutting end-to-end serving resource consumption by 52.4%.

ShopX: A Foundation Model for Intent-to-Item Fulfillment in Agentic Shopping

The wave of AI-native applications is moving shopping beyond page- and feed-based browsing toward intent-driven experiences orchestrated by LLM agents. A common design wraps an LLM around existing search and recommendation pipelines, forcing complex intents through low-bandwidth retrieval or ranking interfaces and leaving a gap between language understanding and item-space fulfillment. Generative recommendation gives LLMs a direct item-space interface through semantic IDs (SIDs), but existing models mainly generate candidates for retrieval rather than translate flexible intents into item-space outcomes. We propose ShopX to address this bottleneck by unifying intent understanding, execution planning, and flexible SID-native item-space operations into a single foundation model. We deploy ShopX in agentic shopping workflows through a model-native item-fulfillment framework with a serving harness that defines a model-facing action protocol and exposes support surfaces for context access, catalog grounding, and state management. Within this framework, ShopX plans and composes SID-based item-space operations such as SID beam-search retrieval, listwise ranking, or product bundling. This model-centric design reduces lossy hand-offs between agent orchestration and item-space execution. To build ShopX, we design semantically recoverable, LLM-operable SIDs and a training recipe that equips a general LLM for flexible multi-turn item-space fulfillment while retaining the knowledge and instruction-following abilities needed by a shopping agent. We evaluate the ShopX framework against tool-mediated agentic systems on single- and multi-turn fulfillment tasks derived from anonymized Taobao production logs, showing that model-native fulfillment improves overall framework behavior, especially on complex or ambiguous requests.

HiSAC: Hierarchical Sparse Activation Compression for Ultra-long Sequence Modeling in Recommenders

Modern recommender systems leverage ultra-long user behavior sequences to capture dynamic preferences, but end-to-end modeling is infeasible in production due to latency and memory constraints. While summarizing history via interest centers offers a practical alternative, existing methods struggle to (1) identify user-specific centers at appropriate granularity and (2) accurately assign behaviors, leading to quantization errors and loss of long-tail preferences. To alleviate these issues, we propose Hierarchical Sparse Activation Compression (HiSAC), an efficient framework for personalized sequence modeling. HiSAC encodes interactions into multi-level semantic IDs and constructs a global hierarchical codebook. A hierarchical voting mechanism sparsely activates personalized interest-agents as fine-grained preference centers. Guided by these agents, Soft-Routing Attention aggregates historical signals in semantic space, weighting by similarity to minimize quantization error and retain long-tail behaviors. Deployed on Taobao's "Guess What You Like" homepage, HiSAC achieves significant compression and cost reduction, with online A/B tests showing a consistent 1.65% CTR uplift -- demonstrating its scalability and real-world effectiveness.

SSRLive: Live Streaming Recommendation with Dynamic Semantic ID

Live streaming has emerged as one of the fastest-growing forms of online media, enabling instant content broadcasting and real-time engagement between users and streamers. Despite the effectiveness of existing recommendation algorithms in this domain, they often suffer from limited utilization of computational resources, with low FLOPs that hinder further performance enhancement. Generative recommendation techniques, which have gained traction in various industrial tasks, offer a promising avenue for improving live streaming recommendations. However, directly applying generative methods to live streaming is non-trivial due to two major challenges: (1) static semantic IDs (SIDs) cannot reflect the rapidly changing nature of live room content; and (2) generative pipelines generally do not incorporate user--streamer interaction signals (e.g., likes, orders), which are critical for modeling user intent toward both the streamer and showcased products. To address these challenges, we introduce SSRLive: Dynamic Semantic ID-guided Streaming Recommendation for Live platforms. The proposed framework integrates a generative module and a discriminative module in a unified architecture. The generative component employs an encoder-decoder design to produce both static and dynamic SIDs, enabling timely representation of live room content while leveraging multimodal information. The discriminative component refines task-specific representations by combining SIDs with user features, augments them with user-streamer interaction data, and performs multi-task predictions. Online A/B tests in real-world deployment demonstrate tangible benefits: watch time (+3.38%), GMV (+0.72%), follower growth (+3.12%), and interaction volume (+2.92%). These improvements highlight the effectiveness and business value of SSRLive, which is now fully deployed, serving hundreds of millions of active users.

FORGE: Forming Semantic Identifiers for Generative Retrieval in Industrial Datasets

Semantic identifiers (SIDs) have gained increasing attention in generative retrieval (GR) for recommendation due to their meaningful semantic discriminability. However, current studies in this field primarily (1) offer limited investigation into the construction strategies for better SIDs, and (2) their SID assessment typically relies on costly GR training. To address these challenges, we propose FORGE, a comprehensive benchmark for FOrming semantic identifieRs for Generative rEtrieval. Specifically, FORGE provides a taxonomy of the SID construction process from several perspectives and validates their impact on downstream GR through offline experiments across diverse settings. Notably, these empirical findings have led to a 0.35% increase in transaction count via online A/B experiments in the Guess You Like section of Taobao. The corresponding SID construction strategies have since been deployed at full scale on Taobao, demonstrating their practical effectiveness. To avoid expensive SID assessment that requires full GR training, we propose two novel SID evaluation metrics that are highly correlated with recommendation performance, enabling convenient evaluations without any GR training. Furthermore, to facilitate the community, we release AL-GR, the industrial dataset used in our experiments, comprising 14 billion interactions and 250 million items with the corresponding multimodal features collected from Taobao. Uniboost: Global Coordination with Value Alignment for Fair and Efficient Traffic Allocation

With the rapid evolution of internet services, recommendation systems have become indispensable. In particular, the blending (re-ranking) stage plays a pivotal role in allocating traffic across diverse business objectives. However, existing approaches often suffer from coupled allocation plans, score inflation, and a lack of interpretability. To address these challenges, we propose Uniboost, a unified traffic allocation framework. Uniboost introduces a posterior value alignment mechanism that calibrates abstract model scores to anchor metrics with explicit business semantics, significantly enhancing interpretability. Furthermore, it employs an independent linear boosting paradigm to decouple complex weighting schemes, enabling precise attribution of each plan's contribution. We validate the effectiveness of Uniboost through online A/B tests and in-depth data analysis, demonstrating three key findings: 1) Reducing the overall weight of weighted scores effectively mitigates unintended business interference, yielding a more efficient micro-level traffic allocation strategy; 2) Post-hoc analyses and aggregated dashboards provide intuitive, macro-level insights that guide the design of the overall traffic allocation mechanism; 3) The proposed "Effective Completion Score" serves as an easily obtainable post-metric that offers a reliable anchor for content recommendation pipelines. Collectively, our experiments show that Uniboost not only improves traffic allocation efficiency and recommendation performance at the micro level but also provides macro-level guidance for system iteration. Thus, this work provides an efficient and controllable traffic regulation solution for large-scale industrial recommendation systems.

RecGPT-Mobile: On-Device Large Language Models for User Intent Understanding in Taobao Feed Recommendation

Predicting a user's next search query from recent interaction behaviors is a critical problem in modern e-commerce systems, particularly in scenarios where user intent evolves rapidly. Large Language Models (LLMs) offer strong semantic reasoning capabilities and have recently been adopted to enhance training data construction for next-query prediction. However, due to resource constraints on mobile devices, existing applications are deployed on cloud servers, resulting in high inference costs. In this paper, we propose RecGPT-Mobile, a framework that designs a lightweight LLM-based intent understanding agent to improve recommendation quality in mobile e-commerce scenarios. By deploying LLMs directly on mobile devices, our approach can capture evolving interests of users more quickly and adjust the recommendation results in real time. Extensive offline analyses and online experiments demonstrate that our method significantly improves the accuracy of recommendation results, laying a practical path for LLM deployment in production-scale recommendation systems on mobile devices, as well as a scalable solution for integrating LLMs into real-world next-query prediction systems.

Mobile-R1: Towards Interactive Capability for VLM-Based Mobile Agent via Systematic Training

Vision-language model-based mobile agents have gained the ability to understand complex instructions and mobile screenshots, benefiting from reinforcement learning paradigms like Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). However, existing approaches centers on offline training or local action-level rewards often trap agents in local optima, hindering effective exploration and error correction with the environment. Crucially, we find that directly applying task-level rewards often leads to convergence difficulties due to the sparse nature of GUI interactions. To address these challenges, we present \textbf{Mobile-R1}, a systematic training recipe that bridges atomic action execution and strategic task completion. We propose a hierarchical curriculum consisting of three stages: (1) format alignment for reasoning structure, (2) on-policy exploration with verifiable action feedback to ground basic execution, and (3) multi-turn task-level training with realistic environment to unlock exploration and self-correction. This hierarchical strategy effectively bootstraps the agent, significantly enhancing its capability for exploration and self-correction (the ``Eureka'' moments). Furthermore, addressing the critical scarcity of diverse GUI data in non-English ecosystems, we contribute a comprehensive Chinese mobile dataset covering 28 applications with 24,521 high-quality manual annotations, and establish a rigorous benchmark with 500 trajectories. We will open source all resources, including the dataset, benchmark, model weight, and codes: https://mobile-r1.github.io/Mobile-R1/.

InquireMobile: Teaching VLM-based Mobile Agent to Request Human Assistance via Reinforcement Fine-Tuning

Recent advances in Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have enabled mobile agents to perceive and interact with real-world mobile environments based on human instructions. However, the current fully autonomous paradigm poses potential safety risks when model understanding or reasoning capabilities are insufficient. To address this challenge, we first introduce \textbf{InquireBench}, a comprehensive benchmark specifically designed to evaluate mobile agents' capabilities in safe interaction and proactive inquiry with users, encompassing 5 categories and 22 sub-categories, where most existing VLM-based agents demonstrate near-zero performance. In this paper, we aim to develop an interactive system that actively seeks human confirmation at critical decision points. To achieve this, we propose \textbf{InquireMobile}, a novel model inspired by reinforcement learning, featuring a two-stage training strategy and an interactive pre-action reasoning mechanism. Finally, our model achieves an 46.8% improvement in inquiry success rate and the best overall success rate among existing baselines on InquireBench. We will open-source all datasets, models, and evaluation codes to facilitate development in both academia and industry.

LoopCTR: Unlocking the Loop Scaling Power for Click-Through Rate Prediction

Scaling Transformer-based click-through rate (CTR) models by stacking more parameters brings growing computational and storage overhead, creating a widening gap between scaling ambitions and the stringent industrial deployment constraints. We propose LoopCTR, which introduces a loop scaling paradigm that increases training-time computation through recursive reuse of shared model layers, decoupling computation from parameter growth. LoopCTR adopts a sandwich architecture enhanced with Hyper-Connected Residuals and Mixture-of-Experts, and employs process supervision at every loop depth to encode multi-loop benefits into the shared parameters. This enables a train-multi-loop, infer-zero-loop strategy where a single forward pass without any loop already outperforms all baselines. Experiments on three public benchmarks and one industrial dataset demonstrate state-of-the-art performance. Oracle analysis further reveals 0.02--0.04 AUC of untapped headroom, with models trained with fewer loops exhibiting higher oracle ceilings, pointing to a promising frontier for adaptive inference.

SecAgent: Efficient Mobile GUI Agent with Semantic Context

Mobile Graphical User Interface (GUI) agents powered by multimodal large language models have demonstrated promising capabilities in automating complex smartphone tasks. However, existing approaches face two critical limitations: the scarcity of high-quality multilingual datasets, particularly for non-English ecosystems, and inefficient history representation methods. To address these challenges, we present SecAgent, an efficient mobile GUI agent at 3B scale. We first construct a human-verified Chinese mobile GUI dataset with 18k grounding samples and 121k navigation steps across 44 applications, along with a Chinese navigation benchmark featuring multi-choice action annotations. Building upon this dataset, we propose a semantic context mechanism that distills history screenshots and actions into concise, natural language summaries, significantly reducing computational costs while preserving task-relevant information. Through supervised and reinforcement fine-tuning, SecAgent outperforms similar-scale baselines and achieves performance comparable to 7B-8B models on our and public navigation benchmarks. Our dataset is available at https://huggingface.co/datasets/alibabagroup/CMGUI.

A Long-term Value Prediction Framework In Video Ranking

Accurately modeling long-term value (LTV) at the ranking stage of short-video recommendation remains challenging. While delayed feedback and extended engagement have been explored, fine-grained attribution and robust position normalization at billion-scale are still underdeveloped. We propose a practical ranking-stage LTV framework addressing three challenges: position bias, attribution ambiguity, and temporal limitations. (1) Position bias: We introduce a Position-aware Debias Quantile (PDQ) module that normalizes engagement via quantile-based distributions, enabling position-robust LTV estimation without architectural changes. (2) Attribution ambiguity: We propose a multi-dimensional attribution module that learns continuous attribution strengths across contextual, behavioral, and content signals, replacing static rules to capture nuanced inter-video influence. A customized hybrid loss with explicit noise filtering improves causal clarity. (3) Temporal limitations: We present a cross-temporal author modeling module that builds censoring-aware, day-level LTV targets to capture creator-driven re-engagement over longer horizons; the design is extensible to other dimensions (e.g., topics, styles). Offline studies and online A/B tests show significant improvements in LTV metrics and stable trade-offs with short-term objectives. Implemented as task augmentation within an existing ranking model, the framework supports efficient training and serving, and has been deployed at billion-scale in Taobao's production system, delivering sustained engagement gains while remaining compatible with industrial constraints.
