DM2RM: Dual-Mode Multimodal Ranking for Target Objects and Receptacles Based on Open-Vocabulary Instructions

In this study, we aim to develop a domestic service robot (DSR) that, guided by open-vocabulary instructions, can carry everyday objects to the specified pieces of furniture. Few existing methods handle mobile manipulation tasks with open-vocabulary instructions in the image retrieval setting, and most do not identify both the target objects and the receptacles. We propose the Dual-Mode Multimodal Ranking model (DM2RM), which enables images of both the target objects and receptacles to be retrieved using a single model based on multimodal foundation models. We introduce a switching mechanism that leverages a mode token and phrase identification via a large language model to switch the embedding space based on the prediction target. To evaluate the DM2RM, we construct a novel dataset including real-world images collected from hundreds of building-scale environments and crowd-sourced instructions with referring expressions. The evaluation results show that the proposed DM2RM outperforms previous approaches in terms of standard metrics in image retrieval settings. Furthermore, we demonstrate the application of the DM2RM on a standardized real-world DSR platform including fetch-and-carry actions, where it achieves a task success rate of 82% despite the zero-shot transfer setting. Demonstration videos, code, and more materials are available at https://kkrr10.github.io/dm2rm/.

Option pricing for Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard model by supervised deep learning

This paper aims to develop a supervised deep-learning scheme to compute call option prices for the Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard model with a non-martingale asset price process having infinite active jumps. In our deep learning scheme, teaching data is generated through the Monte Carlo method developed by Arai and Imai (2024). Moreover, the BNS model includes many variables, which makes the deep learning accuracy worse. Therefore, we will create another input variable using the Black-Scholes formula. As a result, the accuracy is improved dramatically.

DialMAT: Dialogue-Enabled Transformer with Moment-Based Adversarial Training

This paper focuses on the DialFRED task, which is the task of embodied instruction following in a setting where an agent can actively ask questions about the task. To address this task, we propose DialMAT. DialMAT introduces Moment-based Adversarial Training, which incorporates adversarial perturbations into the latent space of language, image, and action. Additionally, it introduces a crossmodal parallel feature extraction mechanism that applies foundation models to both language and image. We evaluated our model using a dataset constructed from the DialFRED dataset and demonstrated superior performance compared to the baseline method in terms of success rate and path weighted success rate. The model secured the top position in the DialFRED Challenge, which took place at the CVPR 2023 Embodied AI workshop.

Numerical analysis on quadratic hedging strategies for normal inverse Gaussian models

The authors aim to develop numerical schemes of the two representative quadratic hedging strategies: locally risk minimizing and mean-variance hedging strategies, for models whose asset price process is given by the exponential of a normal inverse Gaussian process, using the results of Arai et al. \cite{AIS}, and Arai and Imai. Here normal inverse Gaussian process is a framework of Lévy processes frequently appeared in financial literature. In addition, some numerical results are also introduced.

A closed-form representation of mean-variance hedging for additive processes via Malliavin calculus

We focus on mean-variance hedging problem for models whose asset price follows an exponential additive process. Some representations of mean-variance hedging strategies for jump type models have already been suggested, but none is suited to develop numerical methods of the values of strategies for any given time up to the maturity. In this paper, we aim to derive a new explicit closed-form representation, which enables us to develop an efficient numerical method using the fast Fourier transforms. Note that our representation is described in terms of Malliavin derivatives. In addition, we illustrate numerical results for exponential Lévy models.

On the difference between locally risk-minimizing and delta hedging strategies for exponential Lévy models

We discuss the difference between locally risk-minimizing and delta hedging strategies for exponential Lévy models, where delta hedging strategies in this paper are defined under the minimal martingale measure. We give firstly model-independent upper estimations for the difference. In addition we show numerical examples for two typical exponential Lévy models: Merton models and variance gamma models.

Local risk-minimization for Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard models

We obtain explicit representations of locally risk-minimizing strategies of call and put options for the Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard models, which are Ornstein--Uhlenbeck-type stochastic volatility models. Using Malliavin calculus for Levy processes, Arai and Suzuki (2015) obtained a formula for locally risk-minimizing strategies for Levy markets under many additional conditions. Supposing mild conditions, we make sure that the Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard models satisfy all the conditions imposed in Arai and Suzuki (2015). Among others, we investigate the Malliavin differentiability of the density of the minimal martingale measure. Moreover, some numerical experiments for locally risk-minimizing strategies are introduced.

Quaternifiations and extensions of current algebras on S^3

Let $H$ be the quaternion algebra. Let $g$ be a complex Lie algebra and let $U(g)$ be the enveloping algebra of $g$. We define a Lie algebra structure on the tensor product space of $H$ and $U(g)$, and obtain the quaternification $g^H$ of $g$. Let $S^3g^H$ be the set of $g^H$-valued smooth mappings over $S^3$. The Lie algebra structure on $S^3g^H$ is induced naturally from that of $g^H$. On $S^3$ exists the space of Laurent polynomial spinors spanned by a complete orthogonal system of eigen spinors of the tangential Dirac operator on $S^3$. Tensoring $U(g)$ we have the space of $U(g)$-valued Laurent polynomial spinors, which is a Lie subalgebra of $S^3g^H$. We introduce a 2-cocycle on the space of $U(g)$-valued Laurent polynomial spinors by the aid of a tangential vector field on $S^3$. Then we have the corresponding central extension $\hat g(a)$ of the Lie algebra of $U(g)$-valued Laurent polynomial spinors. Finally we have the a Lie algebra $\hat g=\hat g(a)+Cd$ which is obtained by adding to $\hat g(a)$ a derivation $d$ which acts on $\hat g(a)$ as the radial derivation. When $g$ is a simple Lie algebra with its Cartan subalgebra $h$, We shall investigate the weight space decomposition of $(\hat g, ad(\hat h))$, where $\hat h=h+Ca+Cd$ . The previous versions (v1-v7) of this article contained several incorrect assertions and here we have corrected them.

Numerical analysis on local risk-minimization forexponential Lévy models

We illustrate how to compute local risk minimization (LRM) of call options for exponential Lévy models. We have previously obtained a representation of LRM for call options; here we transform it into a form that allows use of the fast Fourier transform method suggested by Carr & Madan. In particular, we consider Merton jump-diffusion models and variance gamma models as concrete applications.
