TerraSky3D: Multi-View Reconstructions of European Landmarks in 4K

Despite the growing need for data of more and more sophisticated 3D reconstruction pipelines, we can still observe a scarcity of suitable public datasets. Existing 3D datasets are either low resolution, limited to a small amount of scenes, based on images of varying quality because retrieved from the internet, or limited to specific capturing scenarios. Motivated by this lack of suitable 3D datasets, we captured TerraSky3D, a high-resolution large-scale 3D reconstruction dataset comprising 50,000 images divided into 150 ground, aerial, and mixed scenes. The dataset focuses on European landmarks and comes with curated calibration data, camera poses, and depth maps. TerraSky3D tries to answer the need for challenging dataset that can be used to train and evaluate 3D reconstruction-related pipelines.

LEAR: Learning Edge-Aware Representations for Event-to-LiDAR Localization

Event cameras offer high-temporal-resolution sensing that remains reliable under high-speed motion and challenging lighting, making them promising for localization from LiDAR point clouds in GPS-denied and visually degraded environments. However, aligning sparse, asynchronous events with dense LiDAR maps is fundamentally ill-posed, as direct correspondence estimation suffers from modality gaps. We propose LEAR, a dual-task learning framework that jointly estimates edge structures and dense event-depth flow fields to bridge the sensing-modality divide. Instead of treating edges as a post-hoc aid, LEAR couples them with flow estimation through a cross-modal fusion mechanism that injects modality-invariant geometric cues into the motion representation, and an iterative refinement strategy that enforces mutual consistency between the two tasks over multiple update steps. This synergy produces edge-aware, depth-aligned flow fields that enable more robust and accurate pose recovery via Perspective-n-Point (PnP) solvers. On several popular and challenging datasets, LEAR achieves superior performance over the best prior method. The source code, trained models, and demo videos are made publicly available online.

Kunlun: Establishing Scaling Laws for Massive-Scale Recommendation Systems through Unified Architecture Design

Deriving predictable scaling laws that govern the relationship between model performance and computational investment is crucial for designing and allocating resources in massive-scale recommendation systems. While such laws are established for large language models, they remain challenging for recommendation systems, especially those processing both user history and context features. We identify poor scaling efficiency as the main barrier to predictable power-law scaling, stemming from inefficient modules with low Model FLOPs Utilization (MFU) and suboptimal resource allocation. We introduce Kunlun, a scalable architecture that systematically improves model efficiency and resource allocation. Our low-level optimizations include Generalized Dot-Product Attention (GDPA), Hierarchical Seed Pooling (HSP), and Sliding Window Attention. Our high-level innovations feature Computation Skip (CompSkip) and Event-level Personalization. These advances increase MFU from 17% to 37% on NVIDIA B200 GPUs and double scaling efficiency over state-of-the-art methods. Kunlun is now deployed in major Meta Ads models, delivering significant production impact.

Asymptotic Stability of Rarefaction Waves for the Hyperbolized Navier-Stokes-Fourier System

This paper investigates the asymptotic stability of rarefaction waves for a one-dimensional compressible fluid system, where the Newton's law of viscosity and Fourier's law of heat conduction are replaced by Maxwell's law and Cattaneo's law, respectively. The system, which generalizes the classical Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations, features finite signal propagation speeds. We consider the Cauchy problem in Lagrangian coordinates with initial data connecting two different constant states via a rarefaction wave of the corresponding Euler system. Our main result proves that, provided the initial perturbation and wave strength are sufficiently small, the relaxation system admits a unique global solution. Furthermore, this solution converges uniformly to the background rarefaction wave as time approaches infinity. The proof is established through a combination of the relative entropy method and usual energy estimates.

Time-asymptotic stability of composite waves of degenerate Oleinik shock and rarefaction for non-convex conservation laws with Cattaneo's law

This paper examines the large-time behavior of solutions to a one-dimensional conservation law featuring a non-convex flux and an artificial heat flux term regulated by Cattaneo's law, forming a 2$\times$2 system of hyperbolic equations. Under the conditions of small wave strength and sufficiently small initial perturbations, we demonstrate the time-asymptotic stability of a composite wave that combines a degenerate Oleinik shock and a rarefaction wave. The proof utilizes the Oleinik entropy condition, the a-contraction method with time-dependent shifts, and weighted energy estimates.

Asymptotic stability of composite waves of two viscous shocks for relaxed compressible Navier-Stokes equations

This paper investigates the time asymptotic stability of composite waves formed by two shock waves within the context of one-dimensional relaxed compressible Navier-Stokes equations. We demonstrate that the composite waves consisting of two viscous shocks achieve asymptotic nonlinear stability under the condition of having two small, independent wave strengths and the presence of minor initial perturbations. Furthermore, the solutions of the relaxed system are observed to globally converge over time to those of the classical system as the relaxation parameter approaches zero. The methodologies are grounded in relative entropy, the $a$-contraction with shifts theory and fundamental energy estimates.

Asymptotic stability of planar viscous shock wave to three-dimensional relaxed compressible Navier-Stokes equations

This paper establishes the nonlinear time-asymptotic stability of shifted planar viscous shock waves for the three-dimensional relaxed compressible Navier-Stokes equations, in which a modified Maxwell-type model replaces the classical Newtonian constitutive relation. Under the assumptions of sufficiently small shock strength and initial perturbations, we prove that planar viscous shock waves are nonlinearly stable. The main steps of our analysis are as follows. First, using the relative entropy method together with the framework of $a$-contraction with shifts, we derive energy estimates for the weighted relative entropy of perturbations. We then successively obtain high-order and dissipation estimates via direct energy arguments, which provide the required a priori bounds. Combining these estimates with a local existence result, we establish the global asymptotic stability of the shifted planar viscous shock wave. Finally, we show that as the relaxation parameter tends to zero, solutions of the relaxed system converge globally in time to those of the classical Navier-Stokes system.

Initial boundary value problems for 3-d Navier-Stokes equations with hyperbolic heat conduction

We study an initial boundary value problem for the 3-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations with hyperbolic heat conduction, where the classical Fourier law is replaced by the Cattaneo-Christov constitutive relation. We focus on spherically symmetric solutions. We establish the existence of uniform global small solutions to the resulting system. Furthermore, based on uniform a priori estimates, we rigorously justify both the relaxation limit and the vanishing viscosity limit.

Global solutions and uniform convergence stability for compressible Navier-Stokes equations with oldroyd-type constitutive law

We consider one dimensional isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with Oldroyd-type constitutive law. By establishing uniform a priori estimates (with respect to relaxation time), we show global existence of smooth solutions with small initial data. Moreover, we get global-in-time convergence of the system towards the classical isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations.

Blowup of solutions for compressible viscoelastic fluid

We prove finite-time blowup of classical solutions for the compressible Upper Convective Maxwell (UCM) viscoelastic fluid system. By establishing a key energy identity and adapting Sideris' method for compressible flows, we derive a Riccati-type inequality for a momentum functional. For initial data with compactly supported perturbations satisfying a sufficiently large condition, all classical solutions lose regularity in finite time. This constitutes the first rigorous blowup result for multidimensional compressible viscoelastic fluids.

${C}^{3}$-GS: Learning Context-aware, Cross-dimension, Cross-scale Feature for Generalizable Gaussian Splatting

Generalizable Gaussian Splatting aims to synthesize novel views for unseen scenes without per-scene optimization. In particular, recent advancements utilize feed-forward networks to predict per-pixel Gaussian parameters, enabling high-quality synthesis from sparse input views. However, existing approaches fall short in encoding discriminative, multi-view consistent features for Gaussian predictions, which struggle to construct accurate geometry with sparse views. To address this, we propose $\mathbf{C}^{3}$-GS, a framework that enhances feature learning by incorporating context-aware, cross-dimension, and cross-scale constraints. Our architecture integrates three lightweight modules into a unified rendering pipeline, improving feature fusion and enabling photorealistic synthesis without requiring additional supervision. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets validate that $\mathbf{C}^{3}$-GS achieves state-of-the-art rendering quality and generalization ability. Two-dimensional Sparse Parallelism for Large Scale Deep Learning Recommendation Model Training

The increasing complexity of deep learning recommendation models (DLRM) has led to a growing need for large-scale distributed systems that can efficiently train vast amounts of data. In DLRM, the sparse embedding table is a crucial component for managing sparse categorical features. Typically, these tables in industrial DLRMs contain trillions of parameters, necessitating model parallelism strategies to address memory constraints. However, as training systems expand with massive GPUs, the traditional fully parallelism strategies for embedding table post significant scalability challenges, including imbalance and straggler issues, intensive lookup communication, and heavy embedding activation memory. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel two-dimensional sparse parallelism approach. Rather than fully sharding tables across all GPUs, our solution introduces data parallelism on top of model parallelism. This enables efficient all-to-all communication and reduces peak memory consumption. Additionally, we have developed the momentum-scaled row-wise AdaGrad algorithm to mitigate performance losses associated with the shift in training paradigms. Our extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach significantly enhances training efficiency while maintaining model performance parity. It achieves nearly linear training speed scaling up to 4K GPUs, setting a new state-of-the-art benchmark for recommendation model training.

Initial boundary value problem for one-dimensional hyperbolic compressible Navier-Stokes equations

An initial boundary value problem for one-dimensional hyperbolic compressible Navier-Stokes equations is investigated. After transforming the system into Lagrangian coordinate, the resulting system possesses a structure with uniform characteristic boundary. By constructing an approximate system with non-characteristic boundary, we get a uniform global smooth solutions and obtain a global solution of the original problem by passing to a limit. Moreover, the global relaxation limit is also obtained.

Global Spherically Symmetric Solutions and Relaxation Limit for the Relaxed Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations

This paper studies an initial boundary value problem for the multidimensional hyperbolized compressible Navier-Stokes equations, in which the classical Newtonian law is replaced by the Maxwell law. We seek spherically symmetric solutions to the studied system in an exterior domain of a ball in $\mathbb R^3$, which are a system possessing a uniform characteristic boundary. First, we construct an approximate system featuring a non-characteristic boundary and establish its local well-posedness. Subsequently, by defining a suitable weighted energy functional and carefully handling boundary terms, we derive uniform a priori estimates, enabling the proof of uniform global existence. Leveraging these uniform estimates alongside standard compactness arguments, we establish the global well-posedness of the original system. Additionally, we rigorously justify the global relaxation limit.

External Large Foundation Model: How to Efficiently Serve Trillions of Parameters for Online Ads Recommendation

Ads recommendation is a prominent service of online advertising systems and has been actively studied. Recent studies indicate that scaling-up and advanced design of the recommendation model can bring significant performance improvement. However, with a larger model scale, such prior studies have a significantly increasing gap from industry as they often neglect two fundamental challenges in industrial-scale applications. First, training and inference budgets are restricted for the model to be served, exceeding which may incur latency and impair user experience. Second, large-volume data arrive in a streaming mode with data distributions dynamically shifting, as new users/ads join and existing users/ads leave the system. We propose the External Large Foundation Model (ExFM) framework to address the overlooked challenges. Specifically, we develop external distillation and a data augmentation system (DAS) to control the computational cost of training/inference while maintaining high performance. We design the teacher in a way like a foundation model (FM) that can serve multiple students as vertical models (VMs) to amortize its building cost. We propose Auxiliary Head and Student Adapter to mitigate the data distribution gap between FM and VMs caused by the streaming data issue. Comprehensive experiments on internal industrial-scale applications and public datasets demonstrate significant performance gain by ExFM.

ICG-MVSNet: Learning Intra-view and Cross-view Relationships for Guidance in Multi-View Stereo

Multi-view Stereo (MVS) aims to estimate depth and reconstruct 3D point clouds from a series of overlapping images. Recent learning-based MVS frameworks overlook the geometric information embedded in features and correlations, leading to weak cost matching. In this paper, we propose ICG-MVSNet, which explicitly integrates intra-view and cross-view relationships for depth estimation. Specifically, we develop an intra-view feature fusion module that leverages the feature coordinate correlations within a single image to enhance robust cost matching. Additionally, we introduce a lightweight cross-view aggregation module that efficiently utilizes the contextual information from volume correlations to guide regularization. Our method is evaluated on the DTU dataset and Tanks and Temples benchmark, consistently achieving competitive performance against state-of-the-art works, while requiring lower computational resources.

Global well-posedness and relaxation limit for relaxed compressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations in bounded domain

This paper investigates an initial boundary value problem for the relaxed one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations. By transforming the system into Lagrangian coordinates, the resulting formulation exhibits a uniform characteristic boundary structure. We first construct an approximate system with non-characteristic boundaries and establish its local well-posedness by verifying the maximal nonnegative boundary conditions. Subsequently, through the construction of a suitable weighted energy functional and careful treatment of boundary terms, we derive uniform a priori estimates, thereby proving the global well-posedness of smooth solutions for the approximate system. Utilizing these uniform estimates and standard compactness arguments, we further obtain the existence and uniqueness of global solutions for the original system. In addition, the global relaxation limit is established. The analysis is fundamentally based on energy estimates.

Fine-Grained Embedding Dimension Optimization During Training for Recommender Systems

Huge embedding tables in modern deep learning recommender models (DLRM) require prohibitively large memory during training and inference. This paper proposes FIITED, a system to automatically reduce the memory footprint via FIne-grained In-Training Embedding Dimension pruning. By leveraging the key insight that embedding vectors are not equally important, FIITED adaptively adjusts the dimension of each individual embedding vector during model training, assigning larger dimensions to more important embeddings while adapting to dynamic changes in data. We prioritize embedding dimensions with higher frequencies and gradients as more important. To enable efficient pruning of embeddings and their dimensions during model training, we propose an embedding storage system based on virtually-hashed physically-indexed hash tables. Experiments on two industry models and months of realistic datasets show that FIITED can reduce DLRM embedding size by more than 65% while preserving model quality, outperforming state-of-the-art in-training embedding pruning methods. On public datasets, FIITED can reduce the size of embedding tables by 2.1x to 800x with negligible accuracy drop, while improving model throughput.
