A Parity-Consistent Decomposition Method for the Weight Distribution of Pre-Transformed Polar Codes

This paper introduces an efficient algorithm based on the Parity-Consistent Decomposition (PCD) method to determine the WD of pre-transformed polar codes. First, to address the bit dependencies introduced by the pre-transformation matrix, we propose an iterative algorithm to construct an \emph{Expanded Information Set}. By expanding the information bits within this set into 0s and 1s, we eliminate the correlations among information bits, thereby enabling the recursive calculation of the Hamming weight distribution using the \emph{PCD method}. Second, to further reduce computational complexity, we establish the theory of equivalence classes for pre-transformed polar codes. Codes within the same equivalence class share an identical weight distribution but correspond to different \emph{Expanded Information Set} sizes. By selecting the pre-transformation matrix that minimizes the \emph{Expanded Information Set} size within an equivalence class, we optimize the computation process. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly reduces computational complexity compared to existing deterministic algorithms.

Hermitian Self-dual Twisted Generalized Reed-Solomon Codes

Self-dual maximum distance separable (MDS) codes over finite fields are linear codes with significant combinatorial and cryptographic applications. Twisted generalized Reed-Solomon (TGRS) codes can be both MDS and self-dual. In this paper, we study a general class of TGRS codes (A-TGRS), which encompasses all previously known special cases. First, we establish a sufficient and necessary condition for an A-TGRS code to be Hermitian self-dual. Furthermore, we present four constructions of self-dual TGRS codes, which, to the best of our knowledge, nearly cover all the related results previously reported in the literature. More importantly, we also obtain several new classes of Hermitian self-dual TGRS codes with flexible parameters. Based on this framework, we derive a sufficient and necessary condition for an A-TGRS code to be Hermitian self-dual and MDS. In addition, we construct a class of MDS Hermitian self-dual TGRS code by appropriately selecting the evaluation points. This work investigates the Hermitian self-duality of TGRS codes from the perspective of matrix representation, leading to more concise and transparent analysis. More generally, the Euclidean self-dual TGRS codes and the Hermitian self-dual GRS codes can also be understood easily from this point.

Pre-configured Error Pattern Ordered Statistics Decoding for CRC-Polar Codes

In this paper, we propose a pre-configured error pattern ordered statistics decoding (PEPOSD) algorithm and discuss its application to short cyclic redundancy check (CRC)-polar codes. Unlike the traditional OSD that changes the most reliable independent symbols, we regard the decoding process as testing the error patterns, like guessing random additive noise decoding (GRAND). Also, the pre-configurator referred from ordered reliability bits (ORB) GRAND can better control the range and testing order of EPs. Offline-online structure can accelerate the decoding process. Additionally, we also introduce two orders to optimize the search order for testing EPs. Compared with CRC-aided OSD and list decoding, PEPOSD can achieve a better trade-off between accuracy and complexity.
