PERCEPT: A Corpus for POS Tagging and Analysis of Persian-English Code-Mixing

Social media has become a major venue for multilingual communication, where users frequently mix multiple languages within a single utterance. Although code-mixed corpora have been developed for several language pairs, Persian-English code-mixing remains relatively underexplored. Existing Persian resources lack Universal Dependencies (UD) part-of-speech (POS) annotations for code-mixed words, limiting both linguistic analyses and the development of syntax-aware NLP models. To address this gap, we introduce PERCEPT, the first publicly available large-scale Persian-English code-mixed corpus annotated with Universal Dependencies POS tags for code-mixed words. The dataset comprises 6,800 posts collected from X, Instagram, and Digikala. We further present an LLM-assisted annotation framework that automatically assigns POS tags and document-level topics. Human evaluation demonstrates high agreement between the automatically generated annotations and gold annotations, confirming the reliability of the annotations. Using PERCEPT, we conduct the first comprehensive linguistic analysis of Persian-English code-mixing across multiple social media platforms. Our analyses reveal that nouns are the predominant category for code-mixed words, while the distributions of other POS categories vary across platforms. We further find that the positional distribution of code-mixed words is remarkably consistent across platforms, whereas the triggering effect is substantially more pronounced in Digikala. PERCEPT is publicly available at https://github.com/kalhorghazal/PERCEPT.

TA-RNN-Medical-Hybrid: A Time-Aware and Interpretable Framework for Mortality Risk Prediction

Accurate and interpretable mortality risk prediction in intensive care units (ICUs) remains a critical challenge due to the irregular temporal structure of electronic health records (EHRs), the complexity of longitudinal disease trajectories, and the lack of clinically grounded explanations in many data-driven models. To address these challenges, we propose \textit{TA-RNN-Medical-Hybrid}, a time-aware and knowledge-enriched deep learning framework that jointly models longitudinal clinical sequences and irregular temporal dynamics through explicit continuous-time encoding, along with standardized medical concept representations. The proposed framework extends time-aware recurrent modeling by integrating explicit continuous-time embeddings that operate independently of visit indexing, SNOMED-based disease representations, and a hierarchical dual-level attention mechanism that captures both visit-level temporal importance and feature/concept-level clinical relevance. This design enables accurate mortality risk estimation while providing transparent and clinically meaningful explanations aligned with established medical knowledge. We evaluate the proposed approach on the MIMIC-III critical care dataset and compare it against strong time-aware and sequential baselines. Experimental results demonstrate that TA-RNN-Medical-Hybrid consistently improves predictive performance in terms of AUC, accuracy, and recall-oriented F$_2$-score. Moreover, qualitative analysis shows that the model effectively decomposes mortality risk across time and clinical concepts, yielding interpretable insights into disease severity, chronicity, and temporal progression. Overall, the proposed framework bridges the gap between predictive accuracy and clinical interpretability, offering a scalable and transparent solution for high-stakes ICU decision support systems.

Identities by Generalized $L-$Summing Method

In this paper, we introduce 3-dimensional $L-$summing method, which is a rearrangement of the summation $\sum A_{abc}$ with $1\leq a,b,c\leq n$. Applying this method on some special arrays, we obtain some identities on the Riemann zeta function and digamma function. Also, we give a Maple program for this method to obtain identities with input various arrays and out put identities concerning some elementary functions and hypergeometric functions. Finally, we introduce a further generalization of $L-$summing method in higher dimension spaces.
