Unified Strong-Field Dynamics Simulations from Atoms to Heterostructures

We present \textsc{TDSE-Z}, a high-performance open-source framework for strong-field quantum dynamics in atomic, molecular, and semiconductor effective-mass systems. The core engine implements a weak-form Galerkin discretisation of the Hermitian BenDaniel-Duke operator, $\hat{T}_{\mathrm{BDD}} = -\frac{1}{2}\nabla\cdot(m^{-1}(\mathbf{r})\nabla)$, on geometry-adapted B-spline meshes, supporting arbitrary potentials and customisable laser configurations in one to three dimensions. We validate the static position-dependent-mass (PDM) eigensolver through two stringent benchmarks: a comparison to the analytical Quesne PDM model and a $\text{GaAs/Al}_{0.3}\text{Ga}_{0.7}\text{As}$ double quantum well, where the exponential decay of computed tunnel splittings follows Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) theory at the sub-percent level. We further demonstrate the time-propagation engine on constant-mass systems, accurately reproducing high-harmonic generation (HHG) spectra in atomic benchmarks and confirming the importance of dimensionality in fully capturing the strong light-matter interaction. Our implementation demonstrates robust strong-scaling efficiency, maintaining performance across hundreds of CPU cores. While the static eigensolver currently supports optional GPU offloading, the time-propagation engine is CPU-optimised, providing a modular architecture for future expansion toward exascale quantum dynamics.

Entanglement-Rank Duality in Quadratic Phase Quantum States

Absolutely maximally entangled (AME) states are fundamental resources in quantum information theory, yet their construction and certification remain a nontrivial problem. Within the family of quadratic phase quantum states, defined by symmetric matrices $P$ over finite fields $\mathbb{F}_{p^m}$, we show that the Rank-Purity Duality $\operatorname{Tr}(ρ_S^2) = |\mathbb{F}|^{-\operatorname{rk}_{\mathbb{F}}(P_{S,\bar{S}})}$ follows from additive character orthogonality and holds over all $\mathbb{F}_{p^m}$, yielding a polynomial-time AME certification criterion. For square-free dimensions $d = p_1\cdots p_r$, the Chinese Remainder Theorem induces a prime-field factorisation. This implies additivity of Rényi-2 entropy and yields sharp obstruction criteria that rule out cases such as $\operatorname{AME}(4,6)$ and constrain the open case $\operatorname{AME}(8,6)$. As a proof of concept, we construct an explicit $\operatorname{AME}(17,10001)$ state, certified across all $65{,}535$ bipartitions, demonstrating that the framework scales to large systems and previously inaccessible local dimensions.

Floquet-engineering unveiled by high-harmonic generation

Ultrafast optical control of solids has uncovered new phenomena and advanced non-equilibrium condensed matter physics, where photon dressed electronic states - Floquet Bloch states (FBSs) - emerge under a strong oscillating laser field, also known as Floquet engineering. Although FBSs have been extensively investigated using time and angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy, direct evidence of their role in high-harmonic generation spectroscopy (HHGS) has remained elusive. Here, we present combined experimental and theoretical evidence that FBSs can be probed by HHG emission in the wide-bandgap solid magnesium oxide (MgO) driven by few cycle near infrared pulses. Experimentally, we observe clear evidence of FBSs in the HHG yield dependence on the crystal orientation. This specific feature is attributed to nonadiabatic coupling between FBSs and conduction bands near the Brillouin zone edge, where the strong laser field transiently breaks time reversal symmetry. We have confronted the experimental findings with numerical solutions of the time dependent Schrödinger equation, which reproduce the new feature and confirm its Floquet origin. The theoretical results show a coupling inducing a local band structure renormalization and Floquet like hybridization under strong field excitation. It also shows that FBS nonadiabatic dynamics persist in the strong field regime, establishing HHGS as a powerful probe of ultrafast light induced band hybridization in solids.

Intrinsic decoherence effects on correlated coherence and quantum discord in XXZ Heisenberg model

Spin qubits are at the heart of technological advances in quantum processors and offer an excellent framework for quantum information processing. This work characterizes the time evolution of coherence and nonclassical correlations in a two-spin XXZ Heisenberg model, from which a two-qubit system is realized. We study the effects of intrinsic decoherence on coherence (correlated coherence) and nonclassical correlations (quantum discord), taking into consideration the combined impact of an external magnetic field, Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya (DM) and Kaplan Shekhtman Entin-Wohlman-Aharony (KSEA) interactions. To fully understand the effects of intrinsic decoherence, we suppose that the system can be prepared in one of the two well-known extended Werner-like (EWL) states. The findings show that intrinsic decoherence leads the coherence and quantum correlations to decay and that the behavior of the aforementioned quantum resources relies strongly on the initial EWL state parameters. We, likewise, found that the two-spin correlated coherence and quantum discord; become more robust against intrinsic decoherence depending on the type of the initial state. These outcomes shed light on how a quantum system should be engineered to achieve quantum advantages.

Effect of induced transition on the quantum entanglement and coherence in two-coupled double quantum dots system

Studying quantum properties in solid-state systems is a significant avenue for research. In this scenario, double quantum dots (DQDs) appear as a versatile platform for technological breakthroughs in quantum computation and nanotechnology. This work inspects the thermal entanglement and quantum coherence in two-coupled DODs, where the system is exposed to an external stimulus that induces an electronic transition within each subsystem. The results show that the introduction of external stimulus induces a quantum level crossing that relies upon the Coulomb potential changing the degree of quantum entanglement and coherence of the system. Thus, the quantum properties of the system can be tuned by changing the transition frequency, leading to the enhancement of its quantum properties.
