Globally maximal timelike geodesics in static spherically symmetric spacetimes: radial geodesics in static spacetimes and arbitrary geodesic curves in ultrastatic spacetimes

This work deals with intersection points: conjugate points and cut points, of timelike geodesics emanating from a common initial point in special spacetimes. The paper contains three results. First, it is shown that radial timelike geodesics in static spherically symmetric spacetimes are globally maximal (have no cut points) in adequate domains. Second, in one of ultrastatic spherically symmetric spacetimes, Morris--Thorne wormhole, it is found which geodesics have cut points (and these must coincide with conjugate points) and which ones are globally maximal on their entire segments. This result, concerning all timelike geodesics of the wormhole, is the core of the work. The third outcome deals with the astonishing feature of all ultrastatic spacetimes: they provide a coordinate system which faithfully imitates the dynamical properties of the inertial reference frame. We precisely formulate these similarities.

First integrals in the Brans-Dicke cosmology

The work presents the frst and the second degree Darboux polynomials, Jacobi's last multipliers as well as the set of frst integrals for Brans-Dicke cosmology. Algebraic invariant sets are constructed. First integrals are visualized for some particular values of the $ω$ parameter.

Every timelike geodesic in anti--de Sitter spacetime is a circle of the same radius

We refine and analytically prove an old proposition due to Calabi and Markus on the shape of timelike geodesics of anti--de Sitter space in the ambient flat space. We prove that each timelike geodesic forms in the ambient space a circle of the radius determined by $Λ$, lying on a Euclidean two--plane. Then we outline an alternative proof for $AdS_4$. We also make a comment on the shape of timelike geodesics in de Sitter space.

Consistent initial data for CMD perturbations

We investigate the initial condition which are simultaneously consistent with perturbation equations in both the radiation-dominated and the mater-dominated epochs. The exact formula for the spectrum transfer-function is derived.

Momentum of cosmological acoustic field

The acoustic spacetime corresponding to perturbed Friedman-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker universe inherit the space isometries from the original FLRW model, but essentially differs in dynamics. The scale factor manifestly depends on the equation of state of the matter content. Despite the higher complexity of the background evolution the perturbation equation in this space is substantially simpler: the density perturbations obey d'Alembert equation. Canonical formalism reconstructed in the acoustic spacetime enables one to employ the Klein-Gordon scalar product. Consequently, the Fourier decomposition of the perturbation field provide the time-independent Fourier coefficients and the time-independent spectrum. The perturbation spectrum does not depend of the choice of the Cauchy hypersurface from which the data are collected. Noether constants associated with the six-parameter isometry group define the components of the momentum, hyperbolic momentum and angular momentum of sound.

The acoustic wave equation in the expanding universe. Sachs-Wolfe theorem

In this paper the acoustic field propagating in the early hot ($p=ε/$) universe of arbitrary space curvature ($K=0, \pm 1$) is considered. The field equations are reduced to the d'Alembert equation in an auxiliary static Roberson-Walker space-time. Symbolic computation in {\em Mathematica} is applied.

Evolution of density perturbations in a realistic universe

Prompted by the recent more precise determination of the basic cosmological parameters and growing evidence that the matter-energy content of the universe is now dominated by dark energy and dark matter we present the general solution of the equation that describes the evolution of density perturbations in the linear approximation. It turns out that as in the standard CDM model the density perturbations grow very slowly during the radiation dominated epoch and their amplitude increases by a factor of about 4000 in the matter and later dark energy dominated epoch of expansion of the universe.

Acoustics of early universe. I. Flat versus open universe models

A simple perturbation description unique for all signs of curvature, and based on the gauge-invariant formalisms is proposed to demonstrate that: (1) The density perturbations propagate in the flat radiation-dominated universe in exactly the same way as electromagnetic or gravitational waves propagate in the epoch of the matter domination. (2) In the open universe, sounds are dispersed by curvature. The space curvature defines the minimal frequency $ω_{\rm c}$ below which the propagation of perturbations is forbidden. Gaussian acoustic fields are considered and the curvature imprint in the perturbations spectrum is discussed.

Acoustics of early universe. II. Lifshitz vs. gauge-invariant theories

Appealing to classical methods of order reduction, we reduce the Lifshitz system to a second order differential equation. We demonstrate its equivalence to well known gauge-invariant results. For a radiation dominated universe we express the metric and density corrections in their exact forms and discuss their acoustic character.
