Tent spaces and Littlewood-Paley $g$-functions associated with Bergman spaces in the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^n$

In this paper, a family of holomorphic spaces of tent type in the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^n$ is introduced, which is closely related to maximal and area integral functions in terms of the Bergman metric. It is shown that these spaces coincide with Bergman spaces. Furthermore, Littlewood-Paley type $g$-functions for the Bergman spaces are introduced in terms of the radial derivative, the complex gradient, and the invariant gradient. The corresponding characterizations for Bergman spaces are obtained as well. As an application, we obtain new maximal and area integral characterizations for Hardy-Sobolev spaces.

Measurement contextuality is implied by macroscopic realism

Ontological theories of quantum mechanics provide a realistic description of single systems by means of well-defined quantities conditioning the measurement outcomes. In order to be complete, they should also fulfil the minimal condition of macroscopic realism. Under the assumption of outcome determinism and for Hilbert space dimension greater than two, they were all proved to be contextual for projective measurements. In the recent years a generalized concept of non-contextuality was introduced that applies also to the case of outcome indeterminism and unsharp measurements. It was pointed out that the Beltrametti-Bugajski model is an example of measurement non-contextual indeterminist theory. Here we provide a simple proof that this model is the only one with such a feature for projective measurements and Hilbert space dimension greater than two. As a corollary, von Neumann measurement non-contextuality implies non-contextuality for unsharp measurements. By noting that the Beltrametti-Bugajski model does not satisfy the condition of macroscopic realism, we arrive at the conclusion that the only way to solve the measurement problem in the framework of an ontological theory is relaxing the hypothesis of non-contextuality in its generalized sense.

Real-variable characterizations of Bergman spaces

In this paper, we give a survey of results obtained recently by the present authors on real-variable characterizations of Bergman spaces, which are closely related to maximal and area integral functions in terms of the Bergman metric. In particular, we give a new proof of those results concerning area integral characterizations through using the method of vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund operators to handle Bergman singular integral operators on the complex ball. The proofs involve some sharp estimates of the Bergman kernel function and Bergman metric.

Quasilocal non-equilibrium dynamics of Φ-spinning black rings

In this work, we study the non-equilibrium dynamics of Φ-spinning black rings within the quasilocal formalism. We adopt the counterterm method and compute the renormalized boundary stress-energy tensor. By considering the conservation of this tensor, the condition for removing the conical singularity at spatial infinity is derived. It is subsequently shown that a Φ-spinning black ring cannot be kept in a state of equilibrium, which is consistent with the physical interpretation that the angular momentum is on the plane orthogonal to the ring and there is no force to balance the tension and gravitational self-attraction. The results of these computations lay a foundation for studying the thermodynamics of Φ-spinning rings in detail. Finally, we charge up the rings in Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton system and suggest feasible ways to make them balanced.

On the Cauchy problem for Gross-Pitaevskii hierarchies

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the Cauchy problem for the Gross-Pitaevskii infinite linear hierarchy of equations on $\mathbb{R}^n,$ $n \geq 1.$ We prove local existence and uniqueness of solutions in certain Sobolev type spaces $\mathrm{H}^α_ξ$ of sequences of marginal density operators with $α> n/2.$ In particular, we give a clear discussion of all cases $α> n/2,$ which covers the local well-posedness problem for Gross-Pitaevskii hierarchy in this situation.

Noncommutative weak Orlicz spaces and martingale inequalities

This paper is devoted to the study of noncommutative weak Orlicz spaces and martingale inequalities. Marcinkiewicz interpolation theorem is extended to include noncommutative weak Orlicz spaces as interpolation classes. In particular, we prove the weak type $Φ$-moment Burkholder-Gundy inequality for noncommutative martingales through establishing a weak type $Φ$-moment noncommutative Khintchine's inequality for Rademacher's random variables.

Wigner-Yanase skew information as tests for quantum entanglement

A Bell-type inequality is proposed in terms of Wigner-Yanase skew information, which is quadratic and involves only one local spin observable at each site. This inequality presents a hierarchic classification of all states of multipartite quantum systems from separable to fully entangled states, which is more powerful than the one presented by quadratic Bell inequalities from two-entangled to fully entangled states. In particular, it is proved that the inequality provides an exact test to distinguish entangled from nonentangled pure states of two qubits. Our inequality sheds considerable light on relationships between quantum entanglement and information theory.

Characterization of multiqubit pure-state entanglement

A necessary and sufficient entanglement criterion based on variances of Mermin-Klyshko's Bell operators is proved for multiqubit pure states. Contrary to Bell's inequalities, entangled pure states strictly satisfy a quadratic inequality but product ones can attain the equality under some local unitary transformations, which can be obtained by solving a quadratic maximum problem. This presents a characterization of multiqubit pure-state entanglement.

Hardy spaces of operator-valued analytic functions

We are concerned with Hardy and BMO spaces of operator-valued functions analytic in the unit disk of $\mathbb{C}.$ In the case of the Hardy space, we involve the atomic decomposition since the usual argument in the scalar setting is not suitable. Several properties (the Garsia-norm equivalent theorem, Carleson measure, and so on) of BMOA spaces are extended to the operator-valued setting. Then, the operator-valued $\mathrm{H}^1$-BMOA duality theorem is proved. Finally, by the $\mathrm{H}^1$-BMOA duality we present the Lusin area integral and Littlewood-Paley $g$-function characterizations of the operator-valued analytic Hardy space.

Interpolation and $Φ$-moment inequalities of noncommutative martingales

This paper is devoted to the study of $Φ$-moment inequalities for noncommutative martingales. In particular, we prove the noncommutative $Φ$-moment analogues of martingale transformations, Stein's inequalities, Khintchine's inequalities for Rademacher's random variables, and Burkholder-Gundy's inequalities. The key ingredient is a noncommutative version of Marcinkiewicz type interpolation theorem for Orlicz spaces which we establish in this paper.

Quantum Theory for the Binomial Model in Finance Theory

In this paper, a quantum model for the binomial market in finance is proposed. We show that its risk-neutral world exhibits an intriguing structure as a disk in the unit ball of ${\bf R}^3,$ whose radius is a function of the risk-free interest rate with two thresholds which prevent arbitrage opportunities from this quantum market. Furthermore, from the quantum mechanical point of view we re-deduce the Cox-Ross-Rubinstein binomial option pricing formula by considering Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics of the system of $N$ distinguishable particles.

Necessary and sufficient condition for a realistic theory of quantum systems

We study the possibility to describe pure quantum states and evens with classical probability distributions and conditional probabilities and show that the distributions and/or conditional probabilities have to assume negative values, except for a simple model whose realistic space dimension is not smaller than the Hilbert space dimension of the quantum system. This gives a negative answer to a question proposed by Montina [Phys.Rev.Lett.{\bf 97}, 180401 (2006)] whether or not does there exist a classical theory whose phase-space dimension is much smaller than the Hilbert space dimension for any quantum system. Thus, any realistic theory of quantum mechanics with nonnegative probability distributions and conditional probabilities requires a number of variables grows exponentially with the physical size.

General Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger theorem of cluster states

In this paper, we show that there are eight distinct forms of the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) argument for the four-qubit cluster state $|ϕ_4>$ and forty eight distinct forms for the five-qubit cluster state $|ϕ_5>$ in the case of the one-dimensional lattice. The proof is obtained by regarding the pair qubits as a single object and constructing the new Pauli-like operators. The method can be easily extended to the case of the N-qubit system and the associated Bell inequalities are also discussed. Consequently, we present a complete construction of the GHZ theorem for the cluster states of N-qubit in the case of the one-dimensional lattice.

Variant of the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality

We construct a Bell inequality from the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality for two qubits that provides a stronger bound on the correlations of entangled states than allowed by the CHSH inequality. The argument involved here can be generalized to $n$ qubits. The inequalities obtained are violated by all the generalized Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states of multiqubits.

von Neumann-Landau equation for wave functions, wave-particle duality and collapses of wave functions

It is shown that von Neumann-Landau equation for wave functions can present a mathematical formalism of motion of quantum mechanics. The wave functions of von Neumann-Landau equation for a single particle are `bipartite', in which the associated Schrödinger's wave functions correspond to those `bipartite' wave functions of product forms. This formalism establishes a mathematical expression of wave-particle duality and that von Neumann's entropy is a quantitative measure of complementarity between wave-like and particle-like behaviors. Furthermore, this extension of Schrödinger's form suggests that collapses of Schrödinger's wave functions can be regarded as the simultaneous transition of the particle from many levels to one.
