SEGB: Self-Evolved Generative Bidding with Local Autoregressive Diffusion

In the realm of online advertising, automated bidding has become a pivotal tool, enabling advertisers to efficiently capture impression opportunities in real-time. Recently, generative auto-bidding has shown significant promise, offering innovative solutions for effective ad optimization. However, existing offline-trained generative policies lack the near-term foresight required for dynamic markets and usually depend on simulators or external experts for post-training improvement. To overcome these critical limitations, we propose Self-Evolved Generative Bidding (SEGB), a framework that plans proactively and refines itself entirely offline. SEGB first synthesizes plausible short-horizon future states to guide each bid, providing the agent with crucial, dynamic foresight. Crucially, it then performs value-guided policy refinement to iteratively discover superior strategies without any external intervention. This self-contained approach uniquely enables robust policy improvement from static data alone. Experiments on the AuctionNet benchmark and a large-scale A/B test validate our approach, demonstrating that SEGB significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines. In a large-scale online deployment, it delivered substantial business value, achieving a +10.19% increase in target cost, proving the effectiveness of our advanced planning and evolution paradigm.

MVP: Multiple View Prediction Improves GUI Grounding

GUI grounding, which translates natural language instructions into precise pixel coordinates, is essential for developing practical GUI agents. However, we observe that existing grounding models exhibit significant coordinate prediction instability, minor visual perturbations (e.g. cropping a few pixels) can drastically alter predictions, flipping results between correct and incorrect. This instability severely undermines model performance, especially for samples with high-resolution and small UI elements. To address this issue, we propose Multi-View Prediction (MVP), a training-free framework that enhances grounding performance through multi-view inference. Our key insight is that while single-view predictions may be unstable, aggregating predictions from multiple carefully cropped views can effectively distinguish correct coordinates from outliers. MVP comprises two components: (1) Attention-Guided View Proposal, which derives diverse views guided by instruction-to-image attention scores, and (2) Multi-Coordinates Clustering, which ensembles predictions by selecting the centroid of the densest spatial cluster. Extensive experiments demonstrate MVP's effectiveness across various models and benchmarks. Notably, on ScreenSpot-Pro, MVP boosts UI-TARS-1.5-7B to 56.1%, GTA1-7B to 61.7%, Qwen3VL-8B-Instruct to 65.3%, and Qwen3VL-32B-Instruct to 74.0%. The code is available at https://github.com/ZJUSCL/MVP.

Towards Continuous Intelligence Growth: Self-Training, Continual Learning, and Dual-Scale Memory in SuperIntelliAgent

We introduce SuperIntelliAgent, an agentic learning framework that couples a trainable small diffusion model (the learner) with a frozen large language model (the verifier) to enable continual intelligence growth through self-supervised interaction. Unlike conventional supervised fine-tuning, SuperIntelliAgent learns autonomously without annotation: the learner generates candidate outputs, the verifier evaluates them through step-by-step reasoning, and their interaction produces chosen/rejected pairs for Direct Preference Optimization (DPO). This converts each input into a pseudo-training signal for continual improvement. The framework integrates dual-scale memory: short-term in-context memory that preserves reasoning traces across refinement cycles, and long-term memory that consolidates acquired knowledge through lightweight on-the-fly fine-tuning. A replay buffer retains samples that show verifiable progress and replays them as auxiliary supervision, reinforcing recent learning while forming adaptive curricula. SuperIntelliAgent is infrastructure-agnostic and can be plugged into existing agentic frameworks while turning ordinary inference loops into a lifelong optimization process. We posit that pairing a trainable learner with a reasoning-capable verifier forms a minimal reliable unit of growing intelligence, as paired feedback and partial-history replay yield richer learning curricula and stronger preference alignment. With a small number of automatically generated DPO pairs, the learner improves across all benchmarks, indicating that this mechanism provides a promising direction for continual intelligence accumulation and real-world deployment.

SGCap: Decoding Semantic Group for Zero-shot Video Captioning

Zero-shot video captioning aims to generate sentences for describing videos without training the model on video-text pairs, which remains underexplored. Existing zero-shot image captioning methods typically adopt a text-only training paradigm, where a language decoder reconstructs single-sentence embeddings obtained from CLIP. However, directly extending them to the video domain is suboptimal, as applying average pooling over all frames neglects temporal dynamics. To address this challenge, we propose a Semantic Group Captioning (SGCap) method for zero-shot video captioning. In particular, it develops the Semantic Group Decoding (SGD) strategy to employ multi-frame information while explicitly modeling inter-frame temporal relationships. Furthermore, existing zero-shot captioning methods that rely on cosine similarity for sentence retrieval and reconstruct the description supervised by a single frame-level caption, fail to provide sufficient video-level supervision. To alleviate this, we introduce two key components, including the Key Sentences Selection (KSS) module and the Probability Sampling Supervision (PSS) module. The two modules construct semantically-diverse sentence groups that models temporal dynamics and guide the model to capture inter-sentence causal relationships, thereby enhancing its generalization ability to video captioning. Experimental results on several benchmarks demonstrate that SGCap significantly outperforms previous state-of-the-art zero-shot alternatives and even achieves performance competitive with fully supervised ones. Code is available at https://github.com/mlvccn/SGCap_Video.

Detecting Machine-Generated Long-Form Content with Latent-Space Variables

The increasing capability of large language models (LLMs) to generate fluent long-form texts is presenting new challenges in distinguishing machine-generated outputs from human-written ones, which is crucial for ensuring authenticity and trustworthiness of expressions. Existing zero-shot detectors primarily focus on token-level distributions, which are vulnerable to real-world domain shifts, including different prompting and decoding strategies, and adversarial attacks. We propose a more robust method that incorporates abstract elements, such as event transitions, as key deciding factors to detect machine versus human texts by training a latent-space model on sequences of events or topics derived from human-written texts. In three different domains, machine-generated texts, which are originally inseparable from human texts on the token level, can be better distinguished with our latent-space model, leading to a 31% improvement over strong baselines such as DetectGPT. Our analysis further reveals that, unlike humans, modern LLMs like GPT-4 generate event triggers and their transitions differently, an inherent disparity that helps our method to robustly detect machine-generated texts.

Plasmonic Optical Modulator based on Adiabatic Coupled Waveguides

In atomic multi-level systems, adiabatic elimination is a method used to minimize complicity of the system by eliminating irrelevant and strongly coupled levels by detuning them from one-another. Such a three-level system, for instance, can be mapped onto physical in form of a three-waveguide system. Actively detuning the coupling strength between the respective waveguide modes allows modulating light propagating through the device, as proposed here. The outer waveguides act as an effective two- photonic-mode system similar to ground- and excited states of a three-level atomic system, whilst the center waveguide is partially plasmonic. In adiabatic elimination regime, the amplitude of the middle waveguide oscillates much faster in comparison to the outer waveguides leading to a vanishing field build up. As a result, the middle waveguide becomes a dark state and hence a low insertion-loss of 8 decibel is expected to keep when achieving the modulation depth as high as 70 decibel despite the involvement of a plasmonic waveguide in the design presented here. The modulation mechanism relies on switching this waveguide system from a critical coupling regime to adiabatic elimination condition via electrostatically tuning the free-carrier concentration and hence the optical index of a thin ITO layer residing in the plasmonic center waveguide. This alters the effective coupling length and the phase mismatching condition thus modulation in each of outer waveguides. Our results show a modulator energy efficiency as low as 40 atto-joule per bit and an extinction ratio of 50 decibel. Given the minuscule footprint of the modulator, the resulting lumped-element limited RC delay is expected to exceed 200 giga hertz. This type of modulator paves the way for next-generation both energy-and speed conscience optical short-reach interconnects.

Design of a plasmonic-organic hybrid slot waveguide integrated with a bowtie-antenna for terahertz wave detection

Electromagnetic (EM) wave detection over a large spectrum has recently attracted significant amount of attention. Traditional electronic EM wave sensors use large metallic probes which distort the field to be measured and also have strict limitations on the detectable RF bandwidth. To address these problems, integrated photonic EM wave sensors have been developed to provide high sensitivity and broad bandwidth. Previously we demonstrated a compact, broadband, and sensitive integrated photonic EM wave sensor, consisting of an organic electro-optic (EO) polymer refilled silicon slot photonic crystal waveguide (PCW) modulator integrated with a gold bowtie antenna, to detect the X band of the electromagnetic spectrum. However, due to the relative large RC constant of the silicon PCW, such EM wave sensors can only work up to tens of GHz. In this work, we present a detailed design and discussion of a new generation of EM wave sensors based on EO polymer refilled plasmonic slot waveguides in conjunction with bowtie antennas to cover a wider electromagnetic spectrum from 1 GHz up to 10THz, including the range of microwave, millimeter wave and even terahertz waves. This antenna-coupled plasmonic-organic hybrid (POH) structure is designed to provide an ultra-small RC constant, a large overlap between plasmonic mode and RF field, and strong electric field enhancement, as well as negligible field perturbation. A taper is designed to bridge silicon strip waveguide to plasmonic slot waveguide. Simulation results show that our device can have an EM wave sensing ability up to 10 THz. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first POH device for photonic terahertz wave detection.

Ultra-compact and wide-spectrum-range thermo-optic switch based on silicon coupled photonic crystal microcavities

We design, fabricate, and experimentally demonstrate a compact thermo-optic gate switch comprising a 3.78 um-long coupled L0-type photonic crystalmicrocavities on a silicon-on-insulator substrate. A nanohole is inserted in the center of each individual L0 photonic crystalmicrocavity. Coupling between identical microcavities gives rise to bonding and anti-bonding states of the coupled photonic molecules. The coupled photonic crystalmicrocavities are numerically simulated and experimentally verified with a 6 nm-wide flat-bottom resonance in its transmission spectrum, which enables wider operational spectrum range than microring resonators. An integrated micro-heater is in direct contact with the silicon core to efficiently drive the device. The thermo-optic switch is measured with an optical extinction ratio of 20 dB, an on-off switching power of 18.2 mW, a thermo-optic tuning efficiency of 0.63 nm/mW, a rise time of 14.8 us, and a fall time of 18.5 us. The measured on-chip loss on the transmission band is as low as 1 dB.

Integrated Broadband Bowtie Antenna on Transparent Silica Substrate

The bowtie antenna is a topic of growing interest in recent years. In this paper, we design, fabricate, and characterize a modified gold bowtie antenna integrated on a transparent silica substrate. The bowtie antenna is designed with broad RF bandwidth to cover the X-band in the electromagnetic spectrum. We numerically investigate the antenna characteristics, specifically its resonant frequency and enhancement factor. Our designed bowtie antenna provides a strong broadband electric field enhancement in its feed gap. Taking advantage of the low-k silica substrate, high enhancement factor can be achieved without the unwanted reflection and scattering from the backside silicon handle which is the issue of using an SOI substrate. We simulate the dependence of resonance frequency on bowtie geometry, and verify the simulation results through experimental investigation, by fabricating different sets of bowtie antennas on silica substrates and then measuring their resonance frequencies. In addition, the far-field radiation pattern of the bowtie antenna is measured, and it shows dipole-like characteristics with large beam width. Such a broadband antenna will be useful for a myriad of applications, ranging from photonic electromagnetic wave sensing to wireless communications.

Design of Highly Efficient Hybrid Si-Au Taper for Dielectric Strip Waveguide to Plasmonic Slot Waveguide Mode Converter

In this paper, we design a dielectric-to-plasmonic slot waveguide mode converter based on the hybrid silicon-gold taper. The effects of mode matching, the effective index matching, and the metallic absorption loss on the conversion efficiency are studied. Consequently, a metallic taper-funnel coupler with an overall length of 1.7um is designed to achieve a very high conversion efficiency of 93.3% at 1550 nm. The configuration limitations for not allowing this mode converter to achieve a 100% conversion efficiency are also investigated. Such a high-efficiency converter can provide practical routes to realize ultracompact integrated circuits.

Low-loss mode converter for coupling light into slotted photonic crystal waveguide

We design, fabricate and experimentally demonstrate a highly efficient adiabatic mode converter for coupling light into a silicon slot waveguide with a slot width as large as 320nm. This strip-to-slot mode converter is optimized to provide a measured insertion loss as low as 0.08dB. Our mode converter provides 0.1dB lower loss compared to a conventional V-shape mode converter. This mode converter is used to couple light into and out of a 320nm slot photonic crystal waveguide, and it is experimentally shown to improve the coupling efficiency up to 3.5dB compared to the V-shape mode converter, over the slow-light wavelength region.

Antenna-coupled silicon-organic hybrid integrated photonic crystal modulator for broadband electromagnetic wave detection

In this work, we design, fabricate and characterize a compact, broadband and highly sensitive integrated photonic electromagnetic field sensor based on a silicon-organic hybrid modulator driven by a bowtie antenna. The large electro-optic (EO) coefficient of organic polymer, the slow-light effects in the silicon slot photonic crystal waveguide (PCW), and the broadband field enhancement provided by the bowtie antenna, are all combined to enhance the interaction of microwaves and optical waves, enabling a high EO modulation efficiency and thus a high sensitivity. The modulator is experimentally demonstrated with a record-high effective in-device EO modulation efficiency of r33=1230pm/V. Modulation response up to 40GHz is measured, with a 3-dB bandwidth of 11GHz. The slot PCW has an interaction length of 300um, and the bowtie antenna has an area smaller than 1cm2. The bowtie antenna in the device is experimentally demonstrated to have a broadband characteristics with a central resonance frequency of 10GHz, as well as a large beam width which enables the detection of electromagnetic waves from a large range of incident angles. The sensor is experimentally demonstrated with a minimum detectable electromagnetic power density of 8.4mW/m2 at 8.4GHz, corresponding to a minimum detectable electric field of 2.5V/m and an ultra-high sensitivity of 0.000027V/m Hz^-1/2 ever demonstrated. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first silicon-organic hybrid device and also the first PCW device used for the photonic detection of electromagnetic waves. Finally, we propose some future work, including a Teraherz wave sensor based on antenna-coupled electro-optic polymer filled plasmonic slot waveguide, as well as a fully packaged and tailgated device.

Broadband energy-efficient optical modulation by hybrid integration of silicon nanophotonics and organic electro-optic polymer

Silicon-organic hybrid integrated devices have emerging applications ranging from high-speed optical interconnects to photonic electromagnetic-field sensors. Silicon slot photonic crystal waveguides (PCWs) filled with electro-optic (EO) polymers combine the slow-light effect in PCWs with the high polarizability of EO polymers, which promises the realization of high-performance optical modulators. In this paper, a broadband, power-efficient, low-dispersion, and compact optical modulator based on an EO polymer filled silicon slot PCW is presented. A small voltage-length product of Vπ*L=0.282Vmm is achieved, corresponding to an unprecedented record-high effective in-device EO coefficient (r33) of 1230pm/V. Assisted by a backside gate voltage, the modulation response up to 50GHz is observed, with a 3-dB bandwidth of 15GHz, and the estimated energy consumption is 94.4fJ/bit at 10Gbit/s. Furthermore, lattice-shifted PCWs are utilized to enhance the optical bandwidth by a factor of ~10X over other modulators based on non-band-engineered PCWs and ring-resonators.

Guided Surface Plasmon Mode of Semicircular Cross Section Silver Nanoridges

Tightly confined plasmon waveguide modes supported by semicircular cross section top silver nanoridges are investigated in this paper. Mode field profiles, dispersion curves, propagation distances, confinement factors, and figure-of-merits of semicircular top silver nanoridge plasmon waveguide mode are calculated for different radii of curvature at different wavelengths. It is found that semicircular top silver nanoridges support tightly confined quasi-TEM plasmon waveguide modes. Semicircular top silver nanoridge mode has longer propagation distance and higher figure-of-merit than that of the cylindrical silver nanowire of the same radius of curvature.

Guided Plasmon Modes of Elliptical Cross Section Silver Nanoridges

Propagating two-dimensional plasmon modes guided by elliptical cross section silver nanoridges are investigated in this paper. Mode field profiles, dispersion curves, propagation distances, and figure-of-merits of the plasmon ridge modes are calculated for various elliptical cross sections. It is found that an elliptical cross section metal nanoridge, if designed properly, can support a well-confined plasmon mode with a longer propagation distance and a higher figure-of-merit than the flat-top nanoridge plasmon waveguide of the same width. The optimal ridge waveguide cross section is obtained when the elliptical ridge top has a semicircular cross section. When the curvature of the elliptical nanoridge is large, the mode approaches the tightly confined wedge plasmon mode.

Guided plasmon modes of triangular and inverted triangular cross section silver nanoridges

Propagating two-dimensional plasmon modes guided along silver nanoridge waveguides with triangular and inverted triangular cross sections are investigated in this paper. Mode field profiles, dispersion curves, propagation distances, and figure-of-merits of the plasmon ridge modes are calculated for silver nanoridge waveguides with various triangular and inverted triangular waveguide cross sections. It is found that the triangular cross section nanoridge waveguide, if designed properly, can have longer propagation distance and higher figure-of-merit than the flat-top nanoridge waveguide of the same width. When the triangle height of the nanoridge is high, the mode approaches to the small angle wedge mode. An inverted triangular cross section nanoridge mode can be considered as a hybrid mode of two metal wedge plasmon modes. When inverted triangle depth increases, the propagation distance and the figure-of-merit decrease dramatically, suggesting the poorer performance when compared to the flat-top nanoridge plasmon waveguide.

Mode Properties of Flat-top Silver Nano-ridge Surface Plasmon Waveguides

We investigate surface plasmon modes supported by flat-top silver nano-ridges. We calculate the mode electromagnetic field distribution, the dispersion curve, the travel range, and the figure-of-merit of the nano-ridge mode. We find that the nano-ridge surface plasmon modes are quasi-TEM modes with longitudinal field components three orders of magnitude smaller than the transverse field components. The quasi-TEM nature of mode profiles reveals that the propagation of free electron oscillations on the top of the nano-ridge contributes mainly to the tightly confined ridge mode. We also find that as the width of the nano-ridge decreases, the ridge mode becomes more tightly confined on the ridge top. As the width of the nano-ridge increases, the nano-ridge mode approaches two decoupled right-angle wedge plasmon modes.
