MDMLP-EIA: Multi-domain Dynamic MLPs with Energy Invariant Attention for Time Series Forecasting

Time series forecasting is essential across diverse domains. While MLP-based methods have gained attention for achieving Transformer-comparable performance with fewer parameters and better robustness, they face critical limitations including loss of weak seasonal signals, capacity constraints in weight-sharing MLPs, and insufficient channel fusion in channel-independent strategies. To address these challenges, we propose MDMLP-EIA (Multi-domain Dynamic MLPs with Energy Invariant Attention) with three key innovations. First, we develop an adaptive fused dual-domain seasonal MLP that categorizes seasonal signals into strong and weak components. It employs an adaptive zero-initialized channel fusion strategy to minimize noise interference while effectively integrating predictions. Second, we introduce an energy invariant attention mechanism that adaptively focuses on different feature channels within trend and seasonal predictions across time steps. This mechanism maintains constant total signal energy to align with the decomposition-prediction-reconstruction framework and enhance robustness against disturbances. Third, we propose a dynamic capacity adjustment mechanism for channel-independent MLPs. This mechanism scales neuron count with the square root of channel count, ensuring sufficient capacity as channels increase. Extensive experiments across nine benchmark datasets demonstrate that MDMLP-EIA achieves state-of-the-art performance in both prediction accuracy and computational efficiency.

Deep Learning Model Inversion Attacks and Defenses: A Comprehensive Survey

The rapid adoption of deep learning in sensitive domains has brought tremendous benefits. However, this widespread adoption has also given rise to serious vulnerabilities, particularly model inversion (MI) attacks, posing a significant threat to the privacy and integrity of personal data. The increasing prevalence of these attacks in applications such as biometrics, healthcare, and finance has created an urgent need to understand their mechanisms, impacts, and defense methods. This survey aims to fill the gap in the literature by providing a structured and in-depth review of MI attacks and defense strategies. Our contributions include a systematic taxonomy of MI attacks, extensive research on attack techniques and defense mechanisms, and a discussion about the challenges and future research directions in this evolving field. By exploring the technical and ethical implications of MI attacks, this survey aims to offer insights into the impact of AI-powered systems on privacy, security, and trust. In conjunction with this survey, we have developed a comprehensive repository to support research on MI attacks and defenses. The repository includes state-of-the-art research papers, datasets, evaluation metrics, and other resources to meet the needs of both novice and experienced researchers interested in MI attacks and defenses, as well as the broader field of AI security and privacy. The repository will be continuously maintained to ensure its relevance and utility. It is accessible at https://github.com/overgter/Deep-Learning-Model-Inversion-Attacks-and-Defenses.

Chromium Self-Traceable Length Standard: Investigating Geometry and Diffraction for Length Traceability Chain

Natural constant-based metrology methods offer an effective approach to achieving traceability in nanometric measurements. The Cr grating, fabricated by atom lithography and featuring a pitch of $d=212.7705\pm0.0049~{\rm nm}$ traceable to the Cr transition frequency $^{7}S_{3}$ $\rightarrow$ $^{7}P_{4}^{0}$, demonstrates potential as a self-traceable length standard in nano-length metrology by grating interferometer. This research aims to analyze and engineer the diffraction characteristics that enhance the Cr grating as a self-traceable length standard within the length traceability chain based on the Cr transition frequency. Accordingly, we investigate the geometric morphology and diffraction characteristics of the Cr grating, analyzes the influence of the grating's polarization-sensitive characteristics on the Littrow configuration grating interferometer, and establishes the criteria for Cr grating fabrication. Experimentally, we fabricate an expanded Cr grating by scanning atom lithography, characterize its diffraction performance, and conduct preliminary verification of length measurement in a self-traceable grating interferometer. This work adheres to the international trend of flattened metrology development, offering a valuable reference for advancing subsequent metrological technologies throughout the new traceability chain.

Length traceability chain based on chromium atom transition frequency

Precise positioning measurement plays an important role in in today advanced manufacturing industry, and length traceability chain has been optimizing and enriching to fulfill the developing and various precise positioning requirement. In this paper, we propose a new length traceability chain based on chromium atom transition frequency, which is a combining utilization of fundamental physical constant accuracy and grating interferometer environmental robustness. The selftraceable grating pitch standard, the selftraceable angle standard and the selftraceable grating interferometer are promising to improve the measurement accuracy, consistency and selfcalibration ability in situ for precise positioning.

Experimental observation of three-photon superbunching in linear optical system

Three-photon superbunching is experimentally observed with the recently proposed superbunching pseudothermal light. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that three-photon superbunching is observed in linear optical system. From the quantum optics point of view, three-photon superbunching is interpreted as the result of constructive-destructive three-photon interference. The key to observe three-photon superbunching in superbunching pseudothermal light is that all the different ways to trigger a three-photon coincidence count are in principle indistinguishable, which is experimentally guaranteed by putting a pinhole before each rotating groundglass to ensure that all the passed photons are within one coherence area. The observed three-photon superbunching is helpful to increase the visibility of ghost imaging and understand the physics of third-order interference of light.
