Novel topological subclass in Hourava-Lifshitz black holes

This work explores the universal classification of thermodynamic topology for charged static black holes within the $z=3$ Hourava-Lifshitz gravity theory, considering both canonical and grand canonical ensembles. We introduce a new topological subclass, denoted as $\ddot{W}^{1-}$. This finding expands the existing topological classification, going beyond the five previously defined classes and their respective subclasses. The $\ddot{W}^{1-}$ subclass presents a distinct and previously unobserved stability profile: In the low-temperature regime, an unstable small black hole appears in the phase space, whereas, while in the high temperature regime, two unstable small black holes exist together with a stable large black hole. Our study underscores the dependence of charged black hole stability on the selection of the ensemble. These results contribute to refining and expanding the topological framework in black hole thermodynamics, providing key perspectives on the underlying nature of black holes and gravity.

Shadow and thin accretion disk around Ayón-Beato-García black hole coupled with cloud of strings

In this paper, we investigate the shadow and thin accretion disk around Ayón-Beato-García (ABG) black hole (BH) coupled with a cloud of strings (CS), characterized by the nonlinear electrodynamics (NLED) parameter $g$, and the CS parameter $a$. By comparing shadow diameters with Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations of M87$^{*}$ and Sgr A$^*$, we have established constraints on the BH parameters $g$ and $a$. Additionally, we analyze the BH shadow, lensing ring, and photon ring features for the ABG BH coupled with CS. Our results indicate that the shadow radius increases monotonically with the CS parameter $a$, while it decreases with increasing $g$. Finally, the study explores the physical properties and observational signatures of thin accretion disks around ABG BH with CS. The results show that an increase in parameter $g$ leads to a hotter and more luminous disk, while an increase in parameter $a$ results in a cooler and less luminous disk.

Observational properties and quasinormal Modes of the Hayward black Hole surrounded by a cloud of strings

In this work, we explored the Hayward black hole surrounded by a cloud of strings, with a focus on the effects of the regularization parameter $l$ and the string cloud parameter $a$ on its observational properties and quasinormal modes (QNMs). Utilizing the spacetime metric and geodesic equations, we calculated several geometric quantities characterizing the black hole. To visualize the observational appearance of the accretion disk, we employed the Novikov--Thorne model to simulate both its primary and secondary images. Furthermore, we analyzed the QNMs of the black hole under scalar and electromagnetic perturbations for different parameter values. The results indicate that as the regularization parameter $l$ increases, the outer horizon radius $r_{+}$, photon-sphere radius $r_{\text{ph}}$, critical impact parameter $b_{c}$, and innermost stable circular orbit $r_{\text{isco}}$ exhibit a gradual decrease, while the inner horizon radius $r_{-}$ and the real part of the QNMs frequency $ω_{r}$ increase. In contrast, as the string cloud parameter $a$ increases, $r_{+}$, $r_{\text{ph}}$, $b_{c}$, and $r_{\text{ isco}}$ demonstrate a rapid increase, whereas $r_{-}$ and $ω_{r}$ decrease. In both cases, the absolute value of the imaginary part of the QNMs frequency decreases with the increase $l$ or $a$. This work offers a theoretical foundation for understanding the coupling between regular black holes and surrounding string clouds.

Rotating Charged Black Holes with Scalar Hair Constructed via the Newman-Janis Algorithm: Accretion Disk Structure and Shadow Characteristics

In this paper, we generate a rotating charged black hole (BH) with scalar hair via the Newman--Janis algorithm (NJA) and study its thin accretion disk and shadow. The structure of the event horizon and ergosurface is analyzed in detail, revealing how the charge parameter $Q$ and scalar hair parameter $s$ influence the spacetime geometry. We analyze the energy flux and temperature distribution of the accretion disk, finding that increasing either $Q$ or $s$ leads to higher energy flux and peak temperature. The BH shadow is also examined, showing that its apparent size decreases monotonically with increasing $Q$ or $s$. Notably, in the near-extremal regime, the shadow develops a distinctive cuspy edge, indicative of strong light bending in the scalarized and charged spacetime. By comparing the theoretically predicted shadow diameter with Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations of Sgr A$^*$, we derive observational constraints on the model parameters. For inclination angles of $17^\circ$ and $90^\circ$, a joint analysis constrains the charge parameter to $0<Q<0.522745$ (at fixed $s=0.1$) and the scalar hair parameter to $0<s<0.283373$ (at fixed $Q=0.3$). Our results demonstrate how scalar hair and electric charge leave imprints on accretion disk emissions and black hole shadows, offering new observational signatures for testing gravity theories beyond general relativity.

Universal topological classes of black holes surrounded by quintessence

This work explores the universal topological classes of various black hole configurations immersed in a quintessence field. The results indicate that the Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence is of the $W^{1-}$ type, exhibiting thermodynamic instability in both extremal temperature limits. The introduction of rotation alters its topological nature to the $W^{0+}$ class, where the Kerr black hole displays coexistence of a stable small black hole and an unstable large black hole at low temperatures. In comparison, anti de Sitter (adS) black holes display different thermodynamic topologies. The Schwarzschild-adS solution corresponds to the $W^{0-}$ class, where an unstable small branch and a stable large branch emerge in the high temperatures. Meanwhile, the Kerr-adS classified as $W^{1+}$, maintains stability in both high- and low-temperature limits. Furthermore, the 4D/5D quintessential black hole belongs to the $W^{0+}$ class within the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet framework. Overall, parameters such as rotation and Gauss-Bonnet in quintessence background field affect the topological classifications of the black holes, while the quintessence field primarily modifies the stability range without changing the topological class itself.

Thin accretion disk around Schwarzschild-like black hole in bumblebee gravity

The physical properties and optical appearance of a thin accretion disk surrounding a Schwarzschild-like black hole (BH) are investigated within the framework of bumblebee gravity. To understand how the Lorentz symmetry breaking (LSB) parameter $l$ affects the disk's behavior, we analyze main characteristics such as energy flux, temperature distribution, and emission spectrum. In addition, direct and secondary images of the accretion disk are generated and examined to explore how both the observational inclination angle and the LSB parameter $l$ shape the visual profile. Furthermore, we compute the redshift and observed flux distributions of the disk from the perspective of distant observers at various inclination angles. Our results indicate that the redshift factor grows as $l$ decreases. When the parameter $l$ assumes negative values, the BH exhibits enhanced luminosity with decreasing $l$. These findings highlight the crucial influence of the LSB parameter $l$ on the observable features of BHs.

Prediction of $QQqq\bar{s}$ molecular pentaquarks within the extended local hidden gauge approach

We investigate hadronic molecular states with the quark contents $ccqq\bar{s}$, $bbqq\bar{s}$, and $bcqq\bar{s}$ $(q=u,d)$ by employing the extended local hidden gauge approach. Considering that the $S$-wave meson-baryon interactions are dominated by vector meson exchange, the coupled channels scattering amplitudes are obtained by solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation in its on-shell form. We find that the poles appearing on the complex Riemann sheet are potential candidates for dynamically generated molecular pentaquark states. The results suggest the existence of a total of fourteen molecular states with quantum numbers $I(J^{P})=0(1/2^{-})$, $0(3/2^{-})$, and $0(5/2^{-})$, which arise from the interactions of the $K^{(*)}Ξ_{cc}^{(*)}$, $K^{(*)}Ξ_{bb}^{(*)}$, $K^{(*)}Ξ_{bc}^{(*)}$, and $K^{(*)}Ξ_{bc}^{'}$ channels, respectively. Their binding energies are calculated to be about $0.1-33$ MeV, and this range depends on the free parameter of the theory. Our research contributes to the spectroscopic studies of hadronic molecular pentaquark states.

Thermodynamics of the Reissner-Nordström black hole with quintessence matter on the EGUP framework

In this paper, we investigate the quantum correction on thermodynamics of the Reissner-Nordström black hole in the presence of the quintessence matter associated with dark energy. To this end, the modified Hawking temperature, heat capacity, and entropy functions of the black hole are derived. { Investigation reveals that the modified uncertainty principles and normalization factor $α$ restrict the lower bound value of horizon radius to affect the Hawking temperature and the parameter $η_{0}$ have a non-negligible effect on the heat capacity threshold.} {Furthermore}, the correction of entropy does not depend on the quintessence matter. It is also examined the equation of state associated with the pressure and the volume in this framework. In addition, we employ graphical methods to compare and discuss the findings within the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) and extended uncertainty principle (EUP).

Universal thermodynamic topological classes of static black holes in Conformal Killing Gravity

In this study, we develop universal thermodynamic topological classes for the static black holes in the context of the Conformal Killing Gravity. Our findings indicate that the Conformal Killing Gravity significantly reconstructs the thermodynamic properties of both the smallest inner and the largest outer black hole states. Additionally, it considerably alters the thermodynamic stability of black holes across both high-temperature and low-temperature regimes. This analysis shows that different CKG parameter settings will lead to $W^{0+}$ $(λ>0)$ and $W^{1+}$ $(λ<0)$ categories for the charged AdS black hole, the Reissner-Nordstr$\ddot{o}$m black hole in Conformal Killing Gravity is classified into the $W^{0+}$ and $W^{1+}$ categories. Furthermore, we examine the specific scenario where charge is neglected. The study reveals that within the framework of Conformal Killing Gravity, the Schwarzschild black hole similar to the Schwarzschild-AdS black hole, can be classified into the $W^{1-}$ and $W^{0-}$ categories. This work provides key insights into the fundamental nature of quantum gravity theory.

Testing black holes in a perfect fluid dark matter environment using quasinormal modes

This research explores the quasinormal modes (QNMs) characteristics of charged black holes in a perfect fluid dark matter (PFDM) environment. Based on the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations of the M87* black hole shadow, we implemented necessary constraints on the parameter space($a/M$,$λ/M$).We found that for lower values of the magnetic charge parameter, the effective range of the PFDM parameter is approximately between -0.2 and 0, while as the magnetic charge parameter increases, this effective range gradually extends toward more negative values. Then through sixth-order WKB method and time-domain method, we systematically analyzed the quasinormal oscillation spectra under scalar field and electromagnetic field perturbations. The results reveal that: the magnetic charge $a$ and PFDM parameters $λ$ modulate the effective potential barrier of black hole spacetime, profoundly influencing the response frequency and energy dissipation characteristics of external perturbations. The consistently negative imaginary part of QNMs across the entire physical parameter domain substantiates the dynamical stability of the investigated system. Moreover, we discovered differences in the parameter variation sensitivity between scalar field and electromagnetic field perturbations, providing a theoretical basis for distinguishing different field disturbances. These results not only unveil the modulation mechanisms of electromagnetic interactions and dark matter distribution on black hole spacetime structures but also offer potential observational evidence for future gravitational wave detection and black hole environment identification.

Quasinormal Modes of Schwarzschild Black Holes in the Dehnen-(1, 4, 5/2) Type Dark Matter Halos

The Dehnen - type dark matter density distribution model is mainly used for dwarf galaxies. In recent years, researchers have speculated that black holes may exist in this dark matter model and have given the black hole metric solutions. On this basis, this paper conducts a systematic study on the quasinormal modes of a Schwarzschild black hole in a Dehnen - (1,4, 5/2) dark matter halo, revealing the influences of dark matter distribution and perturbation field types on the black hole's quasinormal modes. The research uses the shadow radius data of the M87$^{\ast}$ black hole. Through the geodesic equation, two sets of dark matter halo parameter values of $ρ_{\rm s}$ and $r_{\rm s}$ are determined, and the specific numerical values of the black hole's event horizon radius, photon sphere radius, and shadow radius under the corresponding conditions are obtained. The wave equations and effective potentials of the black hole under the perturbations of the scalar field, electromagnetic field, and axial gravitational were analyzed. It was found that the larger the values of $ρ_{\rm s}$ or $r_{\rm s}$, the smaller the peak value of the effective potential, and the wave function oscillation slows down with a lower frequency. The black hole remains stable under perturbations. These studies provide relevant data for the quasinormal modes of the Schwarzschild black hole in the Dehnen-(1,4, 5/2) type dark matter halo. They also offer crucial evidence for understanding the interaction mechanism between the black hole and the dark matter halo.

Quasinormal Modes and Greybody Factors of Scalar Field Perturbations in the NED Corrected Charged Black Hole Spacetime

Inspired by the quark-antiquark confinement potential, Mazharimousavi et al. \cite{Mazharimousavi:2023okd} proposed a nonlinear electrodynamics (NED) model, and based on this model, they constructed a charged black hole solution that includes a logarithmic correction term ($\propto \frac{ζ\ln r}{r}$). On the basis of the Reissner-Nordström metric, this solution realizes a long-range confinement correction by introducing the NED parameter $ζ$, providing a new theoretical perspective for explaining the anomalies in galaxy rotation curves. To deeply explore the dynamic properties of this black hole solution, this paper combines two complementary methods, namely, time-domain evolution and the WKB approximation, to calculate the quasinormal mode (QNM) spectrum of its scalar field perturbations. The research results show that the oscillation frequencies and decay rates of the low-order QNM modes decrease monotonically with the increase of the NED parameter $ζ$, and exhibit an approximately linear dependence. The analysis of the greybody factor (GF) indicates that as $ζ$ increases, the transmittance of the low-frequency scalar field also increases. The enhanced long-range confinement effect caused by the increase of $ζ$ makes low-frequency perturbations more likely to survive and propagate in space-time on the one hand, and at the same time enhances the transmission ability of the low-frequency scalar field. These characteristics provide key theoretical predictions and potential observational features for testing and constraining such NED models in a strong gravitational field environment in the future using the observational data of gravitational wave astronomy or Hawking radiation.

Probing black holes via quasinormal modes in a dark energy-induced dark matter

This study delves into the existence of dark matter around supermassive black holes in galactic cores using a novel gravitational model. By analyzing gravitational waves emitted during the ringdown phase of black holes under different field perturbations, we explore the potential for detecting dark matter. The model hypothesizes that the dark matter distribution around black hole is driven by a mechanism where dark energy endows gravitons with mass, thereby forming a new spacetime structure. Results reveal that as relevant parameters increase, the quasinormal modes (QNMs) exhibit a gradual reduction in real parts, with negative imaginary parts whose absolute values also decrease. Moreover, compared to gravitational wave signals from Schwarzschild black hole without dark matter, this system demonstrates significant differences in oscillation modes and frequencies. This achievement not only validates the self-consistency of the new gravitational model but also lays a theoretical foundation for subsequent gravitational wave detection within dark matter. Simultaneously, it provides new theoretical support for understanding the mechanism of dark energy in large-scale cosmic structures and broadens the research perspective on the relationships between black hole physics, dark matter, and dark energy.

Probing the black holes in a dark matter halo of M87 using gravitational wave echoes

Variations at the event horizon structure of a black hole will emit the signals of the gravitational wave echoes associated with the ringdown of the binary black hole merger. In this work, combining mass model of M87 and Einasto profile for dark matter halo, we construct one formal solution of black holes in dark matter halo, and this solution includes the regular black hole for geometric parameter $a < 2M$ and the wormhole for $a \geq 2M$. Then, we test this solution under axial gravitational perturbation and calculate their quasinormal modes (QNM). Our results show that when geometric parameter $a>2M$, a series of gravitational wave echoes appear after the QNM, and one distinctive feature of gravitational wave echoes is the double barrier. Besides, we also study the impacts of shape parameters $α$ of Einasto profile both on the QNM and gravitational wave echoes, and extract their frequencies using WKB method and Prony method. In principle, with the increasing of shape parameter $α$, the frequencies of the QNM and gravitational wave echoes between the different shape parameters must be different. But now there is zero difference of the frequencies between shape parameter $α=0.18$ and $α=0.20$. Zero difference is not allowed, so we give an upper limit for shape parameter $α$, which is approximately $α<0.18$. These signals of gravitational wave echoes in a dark matter halo may be detected in the near future, and these characteristics of gravitational wave echoes may serve as local measurements of dark matter.

Thermodynamic topology of Phantom AdS Black Holes in Massive Gravity

In this work, we explore the thermodynamic topology of phantom AdS black holes in the context of massive gravity. To this end, we evaluate these black holes in two distinct ensembles: the canonical and grand canonical ensembles (GCE). We begin by examining the topological charge linked to the critical point and confirming the existence of a conventional critical point $(CP_{1})$ in the canonical ensemble (CE), this critical point has a topological charge of $-1$ and acts as a point of phase annihilation, this situation can only be considered within the context of the classical Einstein-Maxwell (CEM) theory $(η=1)$, while no critical point is identified in the GCE. Furthermore, we consider black holes as a topological defect within the thermodynamic space. To gain an understanding of the local and global topological configuration of this defect, we will analyze its winding numbers, and observe that the total topological charge in the CE consistently remains at $1$. When the system experiences a pressure below the critical threshold, it gives rise to the occurrence of annihilation and generation points. The value of electric potential determines whether the total topological charge in the GCE is zero or one. As a result, we detect a point of generation point or absence of generation/annihilation point. Based on our analysis, it can be inferred that ensembles significantly impact the topological class of phantom AdS black holes in massive gravity.

Thermodynamic topology of Kerr-Sen black holes via Rényi statistics

In the present study, we investigate the topological properties of black holes in terms of Rényi statistics as an extension of the Gibbs-Boltzmann (GB) statistics, aiming to characterize the non-Boltzmannian thermodynamic topology of Kerr-Sen and dyonic Kerr-Sen black holes. Through this research, we discover that the topological number derived via Rényi statistics differs from that obtained through GB statistics. Interestingly, although the non-extended parameter $λ$ changes the topological number, the topological classification of the Kerr-Sen and dyonic Kerr-Sen black holes remains consistent under both GB and Rényi statistics. In addition, the topological numbers associated with these two types of black holes without cosmological constant using Rényi entropy processes are the same as the AdS cases of them by considering the GB entropy, as further evidenced by such a study found here. This indicates the cosmological constant has some potential connections the with the nonextensive Rényi parameter from the perspective of thermodynamic topology.

Probing black holes in a dark matter spike of M87 using quasinormal modes

Dark matter density can be significantly enhanced by the supermassive black hole at the galactic center, leading to a structure called dark matter spike. Dark matter spike may change the spacetime properties of black holes that constitute deviations from GR black holes. Based on these interesting background, we construct a set of solutions of black holes in a dark matter spike under the Newtonian approximation and full relativity. Combining the mass model of M87, we study the quasinormal modes of black holes in the scalar field and axial gravitational perturbation, then compared them with Schwarzschild black hole. Besides, the impacts of dark matter on the quasinormal mode of black holes have been studied in depth. In particular, in the axial gravitational perturbation, our results show that the impacts of dark matter spike on the quasinormal mode of black holes can reach up to $10^{-4}$. These new features from quasinormal mode of black holes under the Newtonian approximation and full relativity may provide some help for the establishment of the final dark matter model, and provide a new thought for the indirect detection of dark matter.

Critical behavior and Joule-Thomson expansion of charged AdS black holes surrounded by exotic fluid with modified Chaplygin equation of state

By considering the concept of a unified single fluid model, referred to as the modified Chaplygin gas (MCG), which amalgamates dark energy and dark matter. In this study, we explore the thermodynamic characteristics of charged anti-de Sitter (AdS) black holes existing in an unconventional fluid accompanied by MCG. To accomplish this objective, we derive the equations of state by regarding the charge $Q^{2}$ as a thermodynamic variable. The impact of MCG parameters on the critical thermodynamic quantities ($ψ_{c}$, $T_{c}$, $Q_{c}^{2}$) are examined, followed by a detailed analysis of the $Q^{2}-ψ$ diagram. To provide a clearer explanation of the phase transition, we present an analysis of the Gibbs free energy. It is important to note that if the Hawking temperature exceeds the critical temperature, there is a distinct pattern observed known as swallowtail behavior. This indicates that the system undergoes a first-order phase transition from a smaller black hole to a larger one. The critical exponent of the system is found to be in complete agreement with that of the van der Waals fluid system. Furthermore, we investigate the impact of MCG parameters and black hole charge on the Joule-Thomson (J-T) expansion in the extended phase space. The J-T coefficient is examined to pinpoint the exact region experiencing cooling or heating, the observation reveals that the presence of negative heat capacity results in the occurrence of a cooling process. In addition, it is worth noting that the certain parameters exert a significant influence on the ratio $\frac{T_{min}}{T_{c}}$. The parameters $γ$ and $β$ have a non-negligible effect on the isenthalpy curve.
