Physics-Informed Neural Networks with Attention Feature Expansion for Monge-Ampère Equations

The Monge-Ampère equation is a fundamental fully nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation that finds extensive applications across multiple disciplines. This study proposes a novel physics-informed neural network integrated with attention feature expansion (PINN-AFE) for its numerical solution. A multi-head attention enhanced feature pool is constructed to enable adaptive nonlinear feature representation, and input convex neural networks are adopted to impose strict convexity of solutions with rigorous theoretical guarantees. Meanwhile, a dynamically weighted loss function combined with hybrid optimization is formulated to accelerate training convergence. Comprehensive numerical experiments validate the accuracy and computational efficiency of the developed framework. The PINN-AFE paradigm is further extended to image processing tasks, delivering high-quality and physically consistent results in both image enhancement and medical image registration scenarios.

Large class of many-to-one mappings over quadratic extension of finite fields

Many-to-one mappings and permutation polynomials over finite fields have important applications in cryptography and coding theory. In this paper, we study the many-to-one property of a large class of polynomials such as $f(x) = h(a x^q + b x + c) + u x^q + v x$, where $h(x) \in \mathbb{F}_{q^2}[x]$ and $a$, $b$, $c$, $u$, $v \in \mathbb{F}_{q^2}$. Using a commutative diagram satisfied by $f(x)$ and trace functions over finite fields, we reduce the problem whether $f(x)$ is a many-to-one mapping on $\mathbb{F}_{q^2}$ to another problem whether an associated polynomial $g(x)$ is a many-to-one mapping on the subfield $\mathbb{F}_{q}$. In particular, when $h(x) = x^{r}$ and $r$ satisfies certain conditions, we reduce $g(x)$ to polynomials of small degree or linearized polynomials. Then by employing the many-to-one properties of these low degree or linearized polynomials on $\mathbb{F}_{q}$, we derive a series of explicit characterization for $f(x)$ to be many-to-one on $\mathbb{F}_{q^2}$. On the other hand, for all $1$-to-$1$ mappings obtained in this paper, we determine the inverses of these permutation polynomials. Moreover, we also explicitly construct involutions from $2$-to-$1$ mappings of this form. Our findings generalize and unify many results in the literature.

On many-to-one property of generalized cyclotomic mappings

The generalized cyclotomic mappings over finite fields $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ are those mappings which induce monomial functions on all cosets of an index $\ell$ subgroup $C_0$ of the multiplicative group $\mathbb{F}_{q}^{*}$. Previous research has focused on the one-to-one property, the functional graphs, and their applications in constructing linear codes and bent functions. In this paper, we devote to study the many-to-one property of these mappings. We completely characterize many-to-one generalized cyclotomic mappings for $1 \le \ell \le 3$. Moreover, we completely classify $2$-to-$1$ generalized cyclotomic mappings for any divisor $\ell$ of $q-1$. In addition, we construct several classes of many-to-one binomials and trinomials of the form $x^r h(x^{q-1})$ on $\mathbb{F}_{q^2}$, where $h(x)^{q-1}$ induces monomial functions on the cosets of a subgroup of $U_{q+1}$.

Several new classes of optimal ternary cyclic codes with two or three zeros

Cyclic codes are a subclass of linear codes and have wide applications in data storage systems, communication systems and consumer electronics due to their efficient encoding and decoding algorithms. Let $α$ be a generator of $\mathbb{F}_{3^m}^*$, where $m$ is a positive integer. Denote by $\mathcal{C}_{(i_1,i_2,\cdots, i_t)}$ the cyclic code with generator polynomial $m_{α^{i_1}}(x)m_{α^{i_2}}(x)\cdots m_{α^{i_t}}(x)$, where ${{m}_{α^{i}}}(x)$ is the minimal polynomial of ${{α}^{i}}$ over ${\mathbb{F}_{3}}$. In this paper, by analyzing the solutions of certain equations over finite fields, we present four classes of optimal ternary cyclic codes $\mathcal{C}_{(0,1,e)}$ and $\mathcal{C}_{(1,e,s)}$ with parameters $[3^m-1,3^m-\frac{3m}{2}-2,4]$, where $s=\frac{3^m-1}{2}$. In addition, by determining the solutions of certain equations and analyzing the irreducible factors of certain polynomials over $\mathbb{F}_{3^m}$, we present four classes of optimal ternary cyclic codes $\mathcal{C}_{(2,e)}$ and $\mathcal{C}_{(1,e)}$ with parameters $[3^m-1,3^m-2m-1,4]$. We show that our new optimal cyclic codes are inequivalent to the known ones.

New results of $0$-APN power functions over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$

Partially APN functions attract researchers' particular interest recently. It plays an important role in studying APN functions. In this paper, based on the multivariate method and resultant elimination, we propose several new infinite classes of $0$-APN power functions over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$. Furthermore, two infinite classes of $0$-APN power functions $x^d$ over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ are characterized completely where $(2^k-1)d\equiv 2^m-1~({\rm mod}\ 2^n-1)$ or $(2^k+1)d\equiv 2^m+1~({\rm mod}\ 2^n-1)$ for some positive integers $n, m, k$. These infinite classes of $0$-APN power functions can explain some examples of exponents of Table $1$ in \cite{BKRS2020}.

Low differentially uniform permutations from Dobbertin APN function over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$

Block ciphers use S-boxes to create confusion in the cryptosystems. Such S-boxes are functions over $\mathbb{F}_{2^{n}}$. These functions should have low differential uniformity, high nonlinearity, and high algebraic degree in order to resist differential attacks, linear attacks, and higher order differential attacks, respectively. In this paper, we construct new classes of differentially $4$ and $6$-uniform permutations by modifying the image of the Dobbertin APN function $x^{d}$ with $d=2^{4k}+2^{3k}+2^{2k}+2^{k}-1$ over a subfield of $\mathbb{F}_{2^{n}}$. Furthermore, the algebraic degree and the lower bound of the nonlinearity of the constructed functions are given.

Some classes of power functions with low c-differential uniformity over finite fields

Functions with low c-differential uniformity have optimal resistance to some types of differential cryptanalysis. In this paper, we investigate the c-differential uniformity of power functions over finite fields. Based on some known almost perfect nonlinear functions, we present several classes of power functions $f(x)=x^d$ with $_{c}Δ_f\leq3$. Especially, two new classes of perfect c-nonlinear power functions are proposed.

Further results on differentially 4-uniform permutations over $\F_{2^{2m}}$

In this paper, we present several new constructions of differentially 4-uniform permutations over $\F_{2^{2m}}$ by modifying the values of the inverse function on some subsets of $\F_{2^{2m}}$. The resulted differentially 4-uniform permutations have high nonlinearities and algebraic degrees, which provide more choices for the design of cryptographic substitution boxes.

On the Fourier Spectra of the Infinite Families of Quadratic APN Functions

It is well known that a quadratic function defined on a finite field of odd degree is almost bent (AB) if and only if it is almost perfect nonlinear (APN). For the even degree case there is no apparent relationship between the values in the Fourier spectrum of a function and the APN property. In this article we compute the Fourier spectrum of the new quadranomial family of APN functions. With this result, all known infinite families of APN functions now have their Fourier spectra and hence their nonlinearities computed.
