Gaia DR3 Limits on Stellar Engine Technosignatures in Nearby Stars

An operating stellar engine that transfers momentum to its host star could produce an approximately persistent transverse acceleration during the Gaia Data Release 3 (DR3) observing epoch. We search for such accelerations among 406,984 quality-selected Gaia DR3 stars with nominal distances below 200 pc (about 650 light-years), using 8,890 published Acceleration7 solutions. Because long-period binaries and astrometric systematics can produce similar sky-plane curvature, we model these conventional explanations together with a broad component that can absorb any remaining persistent acceleration or model mismatch. At $a_0 = 2.60 \times 10^{-4}$ m s$^{-2}$, where essentially the entire parent sample is searchable, mapping the residual weights evaluated at the one-sided 95% profile-limit point gives a parent-population fraction limit of $1.21 \times 10^{-5}$. Multiplying this fraction by the parent-sample size gives a summed upper-limit weight of about five star-equivalents above the threshold. Toward the lowest acceleration thresholds, the searchable fraction declines rapidly, so the corresponding bounds primarily describe the reach of the search. No individual source is interpreted as a technological signal.

Constraints on Baryon Density from the Effective Optical Depth of High-Redshift Quasars

We present constraints on the baryonic matter density parameter, $Ω_b$, within the framework of the $Λ$CDM model. Our analysis utilizes observational data on the effective optical depth from high-redshift quasars. To parameterize the photoionization rate $Γ_{-12}$, we employ a Bézier polynomial. Additionally, we approximate the Hubble parameter at high redshifts as $H(z)\approx 100hΩ_m^{1/2} (1+z)^{3/2}$ km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$. Confidence regions are obtained with $h=0.701\pm0.013$ and $Ω_m = 0.315$, optimized by the Planck mission. The best-fit values are $Ω_b =0.043^{+0.005}_{-0.006}$ and $Ω_b = 0.045^{+0.004}_{-0.006}$, corresponding to an old data set and a new data set, respectively. And we test the non-parametric form of $Γ_{-12}$, obtaining $Ω_b = 0.048^{+0.001}_{-0.003}$. These results are consistent with the findings of Planck at the 1 $σ$ confidence level. Our findings underscore the effectiveness of quasar datasets in constraining $Ω_b$, eliminating the need for independent photoionization rate data. This approach provides detailed cosmic information about baryon density and the photoionization history of the intergalactic medium.

Probing the time variation of fine structure constant using galaxy clusters and quintessence model

We explore a possible time variation of the fine structure constant ($α\equiv e^2/\hbar c$) using the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect measurements of galaxy clusters along with their X-ray observations. Specifically, the ratio of the integrated Compto-ionization parameter $Y_{SZ}D_A^2$ and its X-ray counterpart $Y_X$ is used as an observable to constrain the bounds on the variation of $α$. Considering the violation of cosmic distance duality relation, this ratio depends on the fine structure constant as $\sim α^3$. We use the quintessence model to provide the origin of $α$ time variation. In order to give a robust test on $α$ variation, two galaxy cluster samples, the 61 clusters provided by the Planck collaboration and the 58 clusters detected by the South Pole Telescope, are collected for analysis. Their X-ray observations are given by the XMM-Newton survey. Our results give $ζ=-0.203^{+0.101}_{-0.099}$ for the Planck sample and $ζ=-0.043^{+0.165}_{-0.148}$ for the SPT sample, indicating that $α$ is constant with redshift within $3σ$ and $1σ$ for the two samples, respectively.

Lorentz-breaking Theory and Tunneling Radiation Correction to Vaidya-Banner de Sitter Black Hole

In Vaidya-Bonner de Sitter Black hole space-time, the tunneling radiation characteristics of fermions and bosons are corrected by taking Lorentz symmetry breaking theory into account. The corresponding gamma matrices and ether-like field vectors of the black hole are constructed, then the new modified form of Dirac equation for the fermion with spin 1/2 and the new modified form of Klein-Gordon equation for boson in the curved space-time of the black hole are obtained. Through solving the two equations, new and corrected expressions of surface gravity, Hawking temperature and tunneling rate of the black hole are obtained, and the results obtained are also discussed.

Accurate correction of arbitrary spin fermions quantum tunneling from non-stationary Kerr-de Sitter black hole based on corrected Lorentz dispersion relation

According to a corrected dispersion relation proposed in the study on string theory and quantum gravity theory, Rarita-Schwinger equation has been precisely modified, which results in a Rarita-Schwinger-Hamilton-Jacobi equation, and through which, the characteristics of arbitrary spin fermions quantum tunneling radiation from non-stationary Kerr-de Sitter black hole are researched. A series of accurately corrected physical quantities such as surface gravity, chemical potential, tunneling probability and Hawking temperature that describe the properties of the black hole are derived. This research has enriched the research methods and made precision of the research contents of black hole physics.

Lorentz symmetry violation and the tunneling radiation of fermions with spin $1/2$ for Kerr Anti-de-Sitter black hole

We studied the correction of the quantum tunneling radiation of fermions with spin $1/2$ in Kerr Anti-de-Sitter black hole. First, the dynamic equation of spin $1/2$ fermions was corrected using Lorentz's violation theory. Second, the new expressions of the fermions quantum tunneling rate, the Hawking temperature of the black hole and the entropy of the black hole were obtained according to the corrected fermions dynamic equation. At last, some comments are made on the results of our work.

Reconstructing equation of state of dark energy with principal component analysis

We represent a nonparametric method to reconstruct the equation of state for dark energy directly from observational Hubble parameter data. We use principal component analysis (PCA) to extract the signal from data with noise. Moreover, we modify Akaike information criterion (AIC) to guarantee the quality of reconstruction and avoid over-fitting simultaneously. The results show that our method is robust in reconstruction of dark energy equation of state. Although current observational Hubble parameter data alone can not give a strong constraint yet, our results indicate that future observations can significantly improve the quality of the reconstruction.

The constraint ability of Hubble parameter by gravitational wave standard sirens on cosmological parameters

In this paper, we present the application of a new method measuring Hubble parameter $H(z)$ by using the anisotropy of luminosity distance($d_{L}$) of the gravitational wave(GW) standard sirens of neutron star(NS) binary system. The method has never been put into practice so far due to the lack of the ability of detecting GW. However, LIGO's success in detecting GW of black hole(BH) binary system merger announced the potential possibility of this new method. We apply this method to several GW detecting projects, including Advanced LIGO(aLIGO), Einstein Telescope(ET) and DECIGO, and evaluate its constraint ability on cosmological parameters of $H(z)$. It turns out that the $H(z)$ by aLIGO and ET is of bad accuracy, while the $H(z)$ by DECIGO shows a good one. We simulate $H(z)$ data at every 0.1 redshift span using the error information of $H(z)$ by DECIGO, and put the mock data into the forecasting of cosmological parameters. Compared with the previous data and method, we get an obviously tighter constraint on cosmological parameters by mock data, and a concomitantly higher value of Figure of Merit(FoM, the reciprocal of the area enclosed by the $2σ$ confidence region). For a 3-year-observation by standard sirens of DECIGO, the FoM value is as high as 170.82. If a 10-year-observation is launched, the FoM could reach 569.42. For comparison, the FoM of 38 actual observed $H(z)$ data(OHD) is 9.3. We also investigate the undulant universe, which shows a comparable improvement on the constraint of cosmological parameters. These improvement indicates that the new method has great potential in further cosmological constraints.

Direct reconstruction of dynamical dark energy from observational Hubble parameter data

Reconstructing the evolution history of the dark energy equation of state parameter $w(z)$ directly from observational data is highly valuable in cosmology, since it contains substantial clues in understanding the nature of the accelerated expansion of the Universe. Many works have focused on reconstructing $w(z)$ using Type Ia supernova data, however, only a few studies pay attention to Hubble parameter data. In the present work, we explore the merit of Hubble parameter data and make an attempt to reconstruct $w(z)$ from them through the principle component analysis approach. We find that current Hubble parameter data perform well in reconstructing $w(z)$; though, when compared to supernova data, the data are scant and their quality is worse. Both $Λ$CDM and evolving $w(z)$ models can be constrained within $10\%$ at redshifts $z \lesssim 1.5$ and even $5\%$ at redshifts 0.1 $\lesssim$ z $\lesssim$ 1 by using simulated $H(z)$ data of observational quality.
