A description of the transverse momentum distributions of charged particles produced in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies

By assuming the existing of memory effects and long-range interactions in the hot and dense matter produced in high energy heavy ion collisions, the nonextensive statistics together with the relativistic hydrodynamics including phase transition is used to discuss the transverse momentum distributions of charged particles produced in heavy ion collisions. It is shown that the combined contributions from nonextensive statistics and hydrodynamics can give a good description to the experimental data in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN )= 200 GeV and in Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt(s_NN) )= 2.76 TeV for pi^(+ -) , K^(+ -) in the whole measured transverse momentum region, and for p(p-bar) in the region of p_T<= 2.0 GeV/c. This is different from our previous work, where, by using the conventional statistics plus hydrodynamics, the describable region is only limited in p_T<= 1.1 GeV/c.

The rapidity and thermal motion induced transverse momentum distributions of identified charged particles produced in Au-Au collisions at RHIC energies

It is widely believed that the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) might be formed in the current heavy ion collisions. It is also widely recognized that the relativistic hydrodynamics is one of the best tools for describing the process of expansion and particlization of QGP. In this paper, by taking into account the effects of thermal motion, a hydrodynamic model including phase transition from QGP state to hadronic state is used to analyze the rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of identified charged particles produced in heavy ion collisions. A comparison is made between the theoretical results and experimental data. The theoretical model gives a good description to the corresponding measurements made in Au-Au collisions at RHIC energies.

A combined model for the pseudorapidity distributions in p-p collisions at center-of-mass energies from 23.6 to 7000 GeV

In p-p collisions, the produced charge particles consist of two leading particles and those frozen out from the hot and dense matter created in collisions. The two leading particles are respectively in the projectile and target fragmentation region, which, in this paper, are conventionally supposed to have Gaussian rapidity distributions. The hot and dense matter is assumed to expand according to the unified hydrodynamics, a hydro model which unifies the features of Landau and Hwa-Bjorken model, and freeze out into charged particles from a space-like hypersurface with a fixed proper time of Tau_FO. The rapidity distribution of this part of charged particles can be derived out analytically. The combined contribution from both leading particles and unified hydrodynamics is then compared against the experimental data performed in a wide now available center-of-mass energy region from 23.6 to 7000 GeV. The model predictions are in well consistent with experimental measurements.

A description of pseudorapidity distributions in p-p collisions at center-of-mass energy from 23.6 to 900 GeV

In the context of combined model of evolution-dominated hydrodynamics + leading particles, we discuss the pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles produced in p-p collisions. A comparison is made between the theoretical predictions and experimental measurements. The combined model works well in p-p collisions in the whole available energy region from sqrt(s_NN)=23.6 to 900 GeV.
