RxBrain: Embodied Cognition Foundation Model with Joint Language-Visual Reasoning and Imagination

Embodied cognition requires agents to connect high-level task reasoning with the physical states to be achieved. We introduce Hy-Embodied-RxBrain, an embodied cognition foundation model with joint language-visual reasoning and imagination. Unlike vision-language models that emphasize scene understanding and textual decision making, or generative world models that mainly predict future visual states, RxBrain represents embodied plans in a single planning sequence where language and visual imagination play complementary roles. Language provides the abstract structure of a plan, including task decomposition, planning primitives, constraints, temporal order, and decision logic, while visual imagination grounds this structure through world state prediction and joint subgoal planning, associating each planning step with intermediate and final physical states. RxBrain adopts a unified multimodal Mixture-of-Transformers architecture that supports language, image, and video understanding and generation within one model. To train this capability, we build an automatic pipeline that converts embodied videos into joint text-visual planning supervision by decomposing videos into planning steps and aligning them with visual state transitions. We further introduce RxBrain-Bench to evaluate whether models can represent embodied plans through joint textual and visual components rather than separate understanding or generation. Experiments show that RxBrain maintains embodied understanding and generation abilities, and produces plans with coupled textual reasoning, world state prediction, and joint subgoal planning. We also extend RxBrain to continuous robot action generation, where it shows promising real-robot performance without large-scale action-data pretraining. These results provide an initial step toward foundation models for embodied cognition.

New Hadrons Discovered at BESIII

The BESIII experiment starts to run at 2009 and has submitted 500 publications during the past 15 years. This article reviews the 26 new hadrons discovered at BESIII, dedicated to the celebration of this event.

Spectroscopy at $e^+e^-$ colliders

Exotic hadron states beyond the conventional $qqq$ baryon and $q\bar{q}$ meson configurations are well expected from QCD. Having been successful in the past decades, the heavy quarkonium sector is proved to be an ideal place for the study of exotic hadrons. In this talk, I briefly review the recent progress on exotic heavy quarkonium-like state at $e^+e^-$ machines, including BESIII, Belle/Belle II etc.

Exploring the $e^+e^-\to Λ_c^+Λ_c^-$ cross sections

A simultaneous fit is performed to the $e^+e^-\to Λ_c^+Λ_c^-$ cross section data measured by Belle and BESIII from threshold up to 5.4 GeV. In order to accommodate both the BESIII measurement near threshold and the Belle observation of a resonance $Y(4630)$, we build a composite PDF with a Breit-Wigner resonance and a continuum contribution to model the full cross section line shape of $e^+e^-\to Λ_c^+Λ_c^-$. The fit gives a mass of $M=[4636.1_{-7.2}^{+9.8} ($stat$)\pm 8.0($syst$)]$~MeV/$c^2$, a width of $Γ_{\rm tot}=[34.5_{-16.2}^{+21.0} ($stat$)\pm 5.6($syst$)]$~MeV, and $Γ_{e^+ e^-}\mathcal{B}[Y(4630)\toΛ_c^+Λ_c^-]=[18.3_{-6.1}^{+8.8} ($stat$)\pm 1.1($syst$)]$~eV/$c^2$ for the resonance. The width of $Y(4630)$ from our study is narrower than the previous Belle fit. The mass and width of $Y(4630)$ also show good agreement with a vector resonance $Y(4626)$ recently observed in $D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ by Belle.

XYZ physics at BESIII experiment

With the ability to run above 4~GeV, the BESIII experiment located in the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII), has becoming a pioneer in searching and studying charmoniumlike states ($XYZ$ particles). In 2013, BESIII Collaboration discovered a charged charmoniumlike state $Z_c(3900)$, which is confirmed immediately experimentally, and provides the best candidate for a four quark state by now. Continuous studies by BESIII Collaboration show new decay behavior of $Z_c(3900)$, and there are possible partner particle $Z_c(4020)/Z_c(4025)$ existing. By scanning above 4~GeV, BESIII also reveals the potential connection between $Y(4260)$ and $X(3872)$ for the first time, which may help us understand $XYZ$ particles in a new sight.

Observation of $Z_c(3900)$ both by BESIII and Belle

Using $525$ pb$^{-1}$ data collected with the BESIII detector at $e^+e^-$ central-of-mass energy 4.26 GeV, the BESIII Collaboration observed a charged charmoniumlike state $Z_c(3900)\toπ^{\pm}J/ψ$ with mass $M[Z_c(3900)]=3899.0\pm 3.6 \pm 4.9$ MeV/c$^2$, and width $Γ[Z_c(3900)]=46\pm 10 \pm 20$ MeV. The significance of this state was estimated to be $>8σ$ in all kinds of systematic tests. Using $967$ fb$^{-1}$ data recorded by the Belle detector on or near $Υ(nS)$, n=1, 2, $\cdots$, 5 resonances, the $e^+e^- \to π^+π^-J/ψ$ process has been studied through initial-state-radiation (ISR) method. Except for the $Y(4260)$ resonance, an intermediate state $Z(3900)^{\pm}$ has been observed in the $π^{\pm}J/ψ$ mass spectrum, with significance $>5.2σ$. The measured mass $M[Z(3900)^{\pm}]=3894.5\pm6.6\pm4.5$ MeV/c$^2$ and width $Γ[Z(3900)^{\pm}]=63\pm24\pm26$ MeV, shows good agreement with the BESIII measurement within errors, which means $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z(3900)^{\pm}$ is the same state.
