Generalized Euler classes, differential forms and commutative DGAs

In the context of commutative differential graded algebras over $\mathbb Q$, we show that an iteration of "odd spherical fibration" creates a "total space" commutative differential graded algebra with only odd degree cohomology. Then we show for such a commutative differential graded algebra that, for any of its "fibrations" with "fiber" of finite cohomological dimension, the induced map on cohomology is injective.

Fibrations and higher products in cohomology

This paper is a continuation of a previous paper joint with Dennis Sullivan (arXiv:1704.04308). Working in the context of commutative differential graded algebras, we study the ideal of the cohomology classes which can be annihilated by fibrations whose fiber has finite homological dimension. In the present paper we identify these classes with certain higher products in cohomology.

Higher rho invariants and the moduli space of positive scalar curvature metrics

Given a closed smooth manifold M which carries a positive scalar curvature metric, one can associate an abelian group P(M) to the space of positive scalar curvature metrics on this manifold. The group of all diffeomorphisms of the manifold naturally acts on P(M). The moduli group of positive scalar curvature metrics is defined to be the quotient abelian group of this action, i.e. the coinvariant of the action. The moduli group measures the size of the moduli space of positive scalar curvature metrics on M. In this paper, we use the higher rho invariant and the finite part of the K-theory of the group C*-algebra of the fundamental group of M to give a lower bound of the rank of the moduli group.

Positive scalar curvature, higher rho invariants and localization algebras

In this paper, we use localization algebras to study higher rho invariants of closed spin manifolds with positive scalar curvature metrics. The higher rho invariant is a secondary invariant and is closely related to positive scalar curvature problems. The main result of the paper connects the higher index of the Dirac operator on a spin manifold with boundary to the higher rho invariant of the Dirac operator on the boundary, where the boundary is endowed with a positive scalar curvature metric. Our result extends a theorem of Piazza and Schick.

A relative higher index theorem, diffeomorphisms and positive scalar curvature

We prove a general relative higher index theorem for complete manifolds with positive scalar curvature towards infinity. We apply this theorem to study Riemannian metrics of positive scalar curvature on manifolds. For every two metrics of positive scalar curvature on a closed manifold and a Galois cover of the manifold, we define a secondary higher index class. Non-vanishing of this higher index class is an obstruction for the two metrics to be in the same connected component of the space of metrics of positive scalar curvature. In the special case where one metric is induced from the other by a diffeomorphism of the manifold, we obtain a formula for computing this higher index class. In particular, it follows that the higher index class lies in the image of the Baum-Connes assembly map.

The Odd Dimensional Analogue of a Theorem of Getzler and Wu

We prove an analogue for odd dimensional manifolds with boundary, in the $b$-calculus setting, of the higher Atiyah-Patodi-Singer index theorem by Getzler and Wu, thus obtain a natural counterpart of the eta invariant for even dimensional closed manifolds.

Relative Index Pairing and Odd Index Theorem for Even Dimensional Manifolds

We prove an analogue for even dimensional manifolds of the Atiyah-Patodi-Singer twisted index theorem for trivialized flat bundles. We show that the eta invariant appearing in this result coincides with the eta invariant by Dai and Zhang up to an integer. We also obtain the odd dimensional counterpart for manifolds with boundary of the relative index pairing by Lesch, Moscovici and Pflaum.
