A proof of a weighted sum conjecture for finite multiple zeta values of level two

M. Kaneko, T. Murakami and A. Yoshihara introduced finite multiple zeta values of level two and conjectured a weighted sum formula for indices whose components belong to $\{1,2\}$. In this paper, we use generating functions and linear recurrence relations to prove the conjecture. More precisely, we reduce the problem to a polynomial identity and solve the resulting second-order difference equation by identifying its specialized solutions with $_4F_3$ hypergeometric polynomials of Racah-type.

Weighted sum formulas for finite multiple mixed values

In this paper, we employ the iterated integral expression of multiple polylogarithms to establish a weighted sum formula for finite multiple mixed values. As applications, we derive various relations among level-two variants of finite multiple zeta values.

Quadratic character sums with multiplicative coefficients

In this article, we study extreme values of quadratic character sums with multiplicative coefficients $\sum_{n \le N}f(n)\chi_d(n)$. For a positive number $N$ within a suitable range, we employ the resonance method to establish a conditional $\Omega$-result.

Large values of quadratic Dirichlet $L$-functions near the central point

In this paper, we investigate the conditional large values of the quadratic Dirichlet $L$-functions near the central point $s=1/2$. When $\sigma $ closes to $1/2$ within a suitable range, we show that $L(\sigma, \chi_d)$ have the conditional large values of the similar order of magnitude as $L(1/2, \chi_d)$.

Large values of character sums with multiplicative coefficients

In this article, we investigate large values of Dirichlet character sums with multiplicative coefficients $\sum_{n\le N}f(n)\chi(n)$. We prove an Omega result in the region $\exp((\log q)^{\frac12+\varepsilon})\le N\le\sqrt q$, where $q$ is the prime modulus.

HyReC: Exploring Hybrid-based Retriever for Chinese

Hybrid-based retrieval methods, which unify dense-vector and lexicon-based retrieval, have garnered considerable attention in the industry due to performance enhancement. However, despite their promising results, the application of these hybrid paradigms in Chinese retrieval contexts has remained largely underexplored. In this paper, we introduce HyReC, an innovative end-to-end optimization method tailored specifically for hybrid-based retrieval in Chinese. HyReC enhances performance by integrating the semantic union of terms into the representation model. Additionally, it features the Global-Local-Aware Encoder (GLAE) to promote consistent semantic sharing between lexicon-based and dense retrieval while minimizing the interference between them. To further refine alignment, we incorporate a Normalization Module (NM) that fosters mutual benefits between the retrieval approaches. Finally, we evaluate HyReC on the C-MTEB retrieval benchmark to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Extreme values of derivatives of the Dedekind zeta function of a cyclotomic field

In this paper, we establish a lower bound for the maximum of derivatives of the Dedekind zeta function of a cyclotomic field on the critical line. Employing a double version convolution formula and combing special GCD sums, our result generalizes the work of Bondarenko et al. in 2023. We also set a lower bound by the resonance method when the real part is near the critical line, both of the above results refine part of Yang's work in 2022.

Neuro-Symbolic Query Compiler

Precise recognition of search intent in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems remains a challenging goal, especially under resource constraints and for complex queries with nested structures and dependencies. This paper presents QCompiler, a neuro-symbolic framework inspired by linguistic grammar rules and compiler design, to bridge this gap. It theoretically designs a minimal yet sufficient Backus-Naur Form (BNF) grammar $G[q]$ to formalize complex queries. Unlike previous methods, this grammar maintains completeness while minimizing redundancy. Based on this, QCompiler includes a Query Expression Translator, a Lexical Syntax Parser, and a Recursive Descent Processor to compile queries into Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) for execution. The atomicity of the sub-queries in the leaf nodes ensures more precise document retrieval and response generation, significantly improving the RAG system's ability to address complex queries.

Hierarchical Document Refinement for Long-context Retrieval-augmented Generation

Real-world RAG applications often encounter long-context input scenarios, where redundant information and noise results in higher inference costs and reduced performance. To address these challenges, we propose LongRefiner, an efficient plug-and-play refiner that leverages the inherent structural characteristics of long documents. LongRefiner employs dual-level query analysis, hierarchical document structuring, and adaptive refinement through multi-task learning on a single foundation model. Experiments on seven QA datasets demonstrate that LongRefiner achieves competitive performance in various scenarios while using 10x fewer computational costs and latency compared to the best baseline. Further analysis validates that LongRefiner is scalable, efficient, and effective, providing practical insights for real-world long-text RAG applications. Interpolated multiple $t$-values of general level with fixed weight, depth and height

In this paper, we introduce the interpolated multiple $t$-values of general level and represent a generating function for sums of interpolated multiple $t$-values of general level with fixed weight, depth, and height in terms of a generalized hypergeometric function $_3F_2$ evaluated at $1$. Furthermore, we explore several special cases of our results. The theorems presented in this paper extend earlier results on multiple zeta values and multiple $t$-values of general level.

RetroLLM: Empowering Large Language Models to Retrieve Fine-grained Evidence within Generation

Large language models (LLMs) exhibit remarkable generative capabilities but often suffer from hallucinations. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) offers an effective solution by incorporating external knowledge, but existing methods still face several limitations: additional deployment costs of separate retrievers, redundant input tokens from retrieved text chunks, and the lack of joint optimization of retrieval and generation. To address these issues, we propose \textbf{RetroLLM}, a unified framework that integrates retrieval and generation into a single, cohesive process, enabling LLMs to directly generate fine-grained evidence from the corpus with constrained decoding. Moreover, to mitigate false pruning in the process of constrained evidence generation, we introduce (1) hierarchical FM-Index constraints, which generate corpus-constrained clues to identify a subset of relevant documents before evidence generation, reducing irrelevant decoding space; and (2) a forward-looking constrained decoding strategy, which considers the relevance of future sequences to improve evidence accuracy. Extensive experiments on five open-domain QA datasets demonstrate RetroLLM's superior performance across both in-domain and out-of-domain tasks. Projective Banach Lie bialgebras, the projective Yang-Baxter equation and projective Poisson-Lie groups

In this paper, we first introduce the notion of projective Banach Lie bialgebras as the projective tensor product analogue of Banach Lie bialgebras. Then we consider the completion of the classical Yang-Baxter equation and classical r-matrices, and propose the notions of the projective Yang-Baxter equation and projective r-matrices. As in the finite-dimensional case, we prove that every quasi-triangular projective r-matrix gives rise to a projective Banach Lie bialgebra. Next adapting Poisson Banach-Lie groups to the projective tensor product setting, we propose the notion of projective Banach Poisson-Lie groups and show that the differentiation of a projective Banach Poisson-Lie group has the projective Banach Lie bialgebra structure. Finally considering bounded $\mathcal{O}$-operators on Banach Lie algebras, we give an equivalent description of triangular projective r-matrices.

HiLight: A Hierarchy-aware Light Global Model with Hierarchical Local ConTrastive Learning

Hierarchical text classification (HTC) is a special sub-task of multi-label classification (MLC) whose taxonomy is constructed as a tree and each sample is assigned with at least one path in the tree. Latest HTC models contain three modules: a text encoder, a structure encoder and a multi-label classification head. Specially, the structure encoder is designed to encode the hierarchy of taxonomy. However, the structure encoder has scale problem. As the taxonomy size increases, the learnable parameters of recent HTC works grow rapidly. Recursive regularization is another widely-used method to introduce hierarchical information but it has collapse problem and generally relaxed by assigning with a small weight (ie. 1e-6). In this paper, we propose a Hierarchy-aware Light Global model with Hierarchical local conTrastive learning (HiLight), a lightweight and efficient global model only consisting of a text encoder and a multi-label classification head. We propose a new learning task to introduce the hierarchical information, called Hierarchical Local Contrastive Learning (HiLCL). Extensive experiments are conducted on two benchmark datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of our model.

Omega Theorems for Logarithmic Derivatives of Zeta and L-functions Near the 1-line

We establish an omega theorem for logarithmic derivative of the Riemann zeta function near the 1-line by resonance method. We show that the inequality $\left| ζ^{\prime}\left(σ_A+it\right)/ζ\left(σ_A+it\right) \right| \geqslant \left(\left(e^A-1\right)/A\right)\log_2 T + O\left(\log_2 T / \log_3 T\right)$ has a solution $t \in [T^β, T]$ for all sufficiently large $T,$ where $σ_A = 1 - A / \log_2 {T}.$Furthermore, we give a conditional lower bound for the measure of the set of $t$ for which the logarithmic derivative of the Riemann zeta function is large. Moreover, similar results can be generalized to Dirichlet $L$-functions.

FecTek: Enhancing Term Weight in Lexicon-Based Retrieval with Feature Context and Term-level Knowledge

Lexicon-based retrieval has gained siginificant popularity in text retrieval due to its efficient and robust performance. To further enhance performance of lexicon-based retrieval, researchers have been diligently incorporating state-of-the-art methodologies like Neural retrieval and text-level contrastive learning approaches. Nonetheless, despite the promising outcomes, current lexicon-based retrieval methods have received limited attention in exploring the potential benefits of feature context representations and term-level knowledge guidance. In this paper, we introduce an innovative method by introducing FEature Context and TErm-level Knowledge modules(FecTek). To effectively enrich the feature context representations of term weight, the Feature Context Module (FCM) is introduced, which leverages the power of BERT's representation to determine dynamic weights for each element in the embedding. Additionally, we develop a term-level knowledge guidance module (TKGM) for effectively utilizing term-level knowledge to intelligently guide the modeling process of term weight. Evaluation of the proposed method on MS Marco benchmark demonstrates its superiority over the previous state-of-the-art approaches.

Generating functions of multiple $t$-star values of general level

In this paper, we study the explicit expressions of multiple t-star values with an arbitrary number of blocks of twos of general level. We give an expression of a generating function of such values, which generalizes the results for multiple zeta-star values and multiple t-star values. This derived generating function can provide expressions of multiple t-star values of general level in terms of the alternating multiple t-half values of general level with additional factorial and pochhammer symbol. As applications, some specific evaluations of multiple t-star values of general level with one-two-three or more general indices are given. These evaluations contribute to a deeper understanding of the properties of multiple t-star values of general level.

Note on the Corrected Hawking Temperature of a Parametric Deformed Black Hole with Influence of Quantum Gravity

In this paper, using Hamilton-Jacobi method, we discuss the tunnelling of fermions when the dual influence of quantum gravity and the deformation of a parameterized black hole is taken into account. With the influence of the generalized uncertainty principle, there exists an offset around the standard Hawking temperature. We investigate a parametric deformed black hole and find that the corrected temperature is lower than the standard one,so there exists remnant of the black hole and the correction is not only determined by the mass of the emitted fermion,but also determined by the mass of the black hole and the deformation parameter.Under the dual influence of quantum gravity and deformation,the correction effect of quantum gravity is the main influencing factor, while the correction effect of deformation parameter is secondary. The quantum gravitational correction factor is only determined by the mass of the emitted fermions, while the deformation correction factor is only determined by the mass of the black hole.
