Quantum Divergence and Topological Edge Diagnostics via Levitov Full Counting Statistics

We propose a differential full counting statistics protocol for mesoscopic transport. Additionally, we compare terminal Fano factors and noise cumulants between gate configurations at matched k1, instead of inferring a bulk divergence sensor from a single absolute F. it is illustrated analytically for a two channel factorization via a zero temperature geometry scan. Secondary benchmarks show that a two dimensional lattice non equilibrium Greens function calculation yields sub Poissonian Fano factors, whereas Kumars low temperature quantum point contact calibration validates the numerical implementation.

Non-Hermitian Tight-Binding Bands in Graphene: Optical Conductivity, Strain Effects, and Bernal Bilayer Extension

Within the tight binding framework of graphenes π electron nearest neighbors, the Tan Bo model parametrizes transition energies t(dr) based on bond lengths and angles via the Mobius transformation combined with exponential decay. Comparisons between isotropic , geometrically anisotropic , and Slater Koster scales reveal that B = 0 is equivalent to the SK scheme, with L(B) reaching its optimum at Bopt = 0. The Hermitian assembly maintains the Dirac cone at the K point. The Tan Bo geometry dependent transition model and non Hermitian TB assembly scheme developed in this study provide a reproducible single particle benchmark and parameterization reference for future non Hermitian chemical calculations incorporating electron correlation effects in graphene systems.

Electrostatic Screening Modulation of Graphene's Electronic Structure and the Helical Wavefunction Dominated Topological Properties

This study examines electrostatic screening effects in graphene using tight binding calculations based on the Binding energy and Bond Charge model and a modified version of it. The results indicate that the modified BBC potential decays in an exponential manner with distance, which suppresses electron electron interactions. The hopping integrals exhibit a pronounced decrease over distance and shift with parameter variation. A band gap opens once the parameter exceeds a certain threshold. The density of states shows a prominent peak near the Fermi level, whereas the low-energy region remains largely unchanged. The low energy helical wave functions in graphene display topological characteristics, including pseudospin momentum locking and a π Berry phase, resulting in distinctive transport properties. By avoiding the Coulomb singularity, the model offers valuable insights for the engineering of screening in two-dimensional systems and the design of topological devices.

Topological Bonding and Electronic properties of Cd$_{43}$Te$_{28}$ semiconductor material with microporous structure

CdTe is II-VI semiconductor material with excellent characteristics and has demonstrated promising potential for application in the photovoltaic field. The electronic properties of Cd43Te28 with microporous structures have been investigated based on density functional theory. The newly established binding-energy and bond-charge model have been used to convert the value of Hamiltonian into bonding values. We provide a method for describing topological chemical bonds by atomic coordinates and wave phases. We also discuss the dynamic process of the wave function with time and the magic cube matrix. This study provides an innovative method and technology for the accurate analysis of the topological bonding and electronic properties of microporous semiconductor materials.

Atomic bonding and binding energy of two-dimensional Bi/Li(110) heterojunctions via BOLS and BB model

Combining the bond-order-length-strength (BOLS) and bonding and binding energy (BB) models with density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we studied the atomic bonding and binding energy behavior of Bi atoms adsorbed on the Li(110) surface. We found that the Bi atoms adsorbed on the Li(110) surface form two-dimensional (2D) geometric structures, including letter-, hexagon-, galaxy-, crown-, field-, and cobweb-shaped structures. Thus, we obtained the following quantitative information: (i) the field-shaped structure can be considered the bulk structure; (ii) the field-shaped structure of Bi atom formation has a 5d energy level of 22.727 eV, and in the letter shape structure, this energy is shifted to values greater than 0.342 eV;and (iii) the Bi/Li(110) heterojunction transfers charge from the inner Li atomic layer to the outermost Bi atomic layer. In addition, we analyzed the bonding and electronic dynamics involved in the formation of the Bi/Li(110) heterojunctions using zone-selective electron spectroscopy technology. This work provides a theoretical reference for the fine tuning of binding energies and chemical bonding at the interfaces of 2D metallic materials.

Bond Relaxation and Electronic Properties of Two-Dimensional Sb/MoSe2 and Sb/MoTe2 Van der Waals Heterostructures

Van der Waals heterostructures have recently garnered interest for application in high-performance photovoltaic materials. Consequently, understanding the basic electronic characteristics of these heterostructures is important for their utilisation in optoelectronic devices. The electronic structures and bond relaxation of two-dimensional (2D) Sb/transition metal disulfides (TMDs, MoSe2, and MoTe2) van der Waals heterostructures were systematically studied using the bond-charge (BC) correlation and hybrid density functional theory. We found that the Sb/MoSe2 and Sb/MoTe2 heterostructures had indirect band gaps of 0.701 and 0.808 eV, respectively; further, these heterostructures effectively modulated the band gaps of MoSe2 (1.463 eV) and MoTe2 (1.173 eV). The BC correlation revealed four bonding and electronic contributions (electron-holes, antibonding, nonbonding, and bonding states) of the heterostructures. Our results provide an in-depth understanding of the Sb/TMD van der Waals heterojunction, which should be utilised to design 2D metal/semiconductor-based devices.

Fast, accurate simulation of polaron dynamics and multidimensional spectroscopy by multiple Davydov trial states

By employing the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational principle, we study the dynamical properties of the Holstein molecular crystal model with diagonal and off-diagonal exciton-phonon coupling. A linear combination of the Davydov D$_1$ (D$_2$) Anstaz, referred to as the multi-D$_1$ Ansatz (multi-D$_2$ Ansatz), is used as the trial state with enhanced accuracy but without sacrificing efficiency. The time evolution of the exciton probability is found to be in perfect agreement with that of the hierarchy equations of motion, demonstrating the promise the multiple Davydov trial states hold as an efficient, robust description of dynamics of complex quantum systems. In addition to the linear absorption spectra computed for both diagonal and off-diagonal cases, for the first time, $2$D spectra have been calculated for systems with off-diagonal exciton-phonon coupling by employing the multiple $D_2$ Ansatz to compute the nonlinear response function, testifying to the great potential of the multiple $D_2$ Ansatz for fast, accurate implementation of multidimensional spectroscopy. It is found that the signal exhibits a single peak for weak off-diagonal coupling, while a vibronic multi-peak structure appears for strong off-diagonal coupling.

Dissipative dynamics in a tunable Rabi dimer with periodic harmonic driving

Recent progress on qubit manipulation allows application of periodic driving signals on qubits. In this study, a harmonic driving field is added to a Rabi dimer to engineer photon and qubit dynamics in a circuit quantum electrodynamics device. To model environmental effects, qubits in the Rabi dimer are coupled to a phonon bath with a sub-Ohmic spectral density. A non-perturbative treatment, the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational principle together with the multiple Davydov D$_2$ {\it Ansatz} is employed to explore the dynamical behavior of the tunable Rabi dimer. In the absence of the phonon bath, the amplitude damping of the photon number oscillation is greatly suppressed by the driving field, and photons can be created thanks to resonances between the periodic driving field and the photon frequency. In the presence of the phonon bath, one still can change the photon numbers in two resonators, and indirectly alter the photon imbalance in the Rabi dimer by directly varying the driving signal in one qubit. It is shown that qubit states can be manipulated directly by the harmonic driving. The environment is found to strengthen the interqubit asymmetry induced by the external driving, opening up a new venue to engineer the qubit states.

We investigated the bond, electronic and magnetic behavior of adsorption Yttrium atoms on Lithium (110) surface using a combination of Bond-order-length-strength(BOLS) correlation and density-functional theory(DFT). We found that adsorption Y atoms on Li(110) surfaces form two-dimensional (2D) geometric structures of hexagon, nonagon, solid hexagonal, quadrangle and triangle. The consistent with the magnetic moment are 6.66μB, 5.54μB, 0.28μB, 1.04μB, 2.81μB, respectively. In addition, this work could pave the way for design new 2D metals electronic and magnetic properties.

Electronic structure and bond relaxation at Na/Ta(110) interfaces and 1D-chain and 2D-ring Ta metal structures on Na(110)

We investigated the mechanism of Na/Ta(110) and Ta/Na(110) interfaces using a combination of bond band barrier (BBB) and zone selective electron spectroscopy (ZES) correlation. We found that 7/9 ML and 8/9 ML Ta metal on a Na(110) surface form one dimensional (1D) chain and two dimensional (2D) ring structures, respectively. Moreover, we show that on Na(110), the Ta-induced Na(110) surface binding energy (BE) shifts are dominated by quantum entrapment. On the contrary, on a Ta(110) surface, the Na-induced Ta(110) surface BE shifts are dominated by polarization. Thus, the BBB and ZES strategy could potentially be used for designing 1D and 2D metals with desired structures and properties.

Dynamics of dissipative Landau-Zener transitions

A non-perturbative treatment, the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variation is employed to examine dynamics of the Landau-Zener model with both diagonal and off-diagonal qubit-bath coupling using the multiple Davydov trial states. It is shown that steady-state transition probabilities agree with analytical predictions at long times. Landau-Zener dynamics at intermediate times is little affected by diagonal coupling, and is found to be determined by off-diagonal coupling and tunneling strength between two diabatic states. We investigate effects of bath spectral densities, coupling strengths and interaction angles on Laudau-Zener dynamics. Thanks to the multiple Davydov trial states, detailed boson dynamics can also be analyzed in Landau-Zener transitions. Results presented here may help provide guiding principles to manipulate the Laudau-Zener transitions in circuit QED architectures by tuning off-diagonal coupling and tunneling strength.

Effect of off-diagonal exciton-phonon coupling on intramolecular singlet fission

Intramolecular singlet fission (iSF) materials provide remarkable advantages in terms of tunable electronic structures, and quantum chemistry studies have indicated strong electronic coupling modulation by high frequency phonon modes. In this work, we formulate a microscopic model of iSF with simultaneous diagonal and off-diagonal coupling to high-frequency modes. A non-perturbative treatment, the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational approach is adopted using the multiple Davydov trial states. It is shown that both diagonal and off-diagonal coupling can aid efficient singlet fission if excitonic coupling is weak, and fission is only facilitated by diagonal coupling if excitonic coupling is strong. In the presence of off-diagonal coupling, it is found that high frequency modes create additional fission channels for rapid iSF. Results presented here may help provide guiding principles for design of efficient singlet fission materials by directly tuning singlet-triplet interstate coupling.

Transient dynamics of a one-dimensional Holstein polaron under the influence of an external electric field

Following the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational principle, transient dynamics of a one-dimensional Holstein polaron with diagonal and off-diagonal exciton-phonon coupling in an external electric field is studied by employing the multi-D$_2$ {\it Ansatz}, also known as a superposition of the usual Davydov D$_2$ trial states. Resultant polaron dynamics has significantly enhanced accuracy, and is in perfect agreement with that derived from the hierarchy equations of motion method. Starting from an initial broad wave packet, the exciton undergoes typical Bloch oscillations. Adding weak exciton-phonon coupling leads to a broadened exciton wave packet and a reduced current amplitude. Using a narrow wave packet as the initial state, the bare exciton oscillates in a symmetric breathing mode, but the symmetry is easily broken by weak coupling to phonons, resulting in a non-zero exciton current. For both scenarios, temporal periodicity is unchanged by exciton-phonon coupling. In particular, at variance with the case of an infinite linear chain, no steady state is found in a finite-sized ring within the anti-adiabatic regime. For strong diagonal coupling, the multi-$\rm D_2$ {\it Anstaz} is found to be highly accurate, and the phonon confinement gives rise to exciton localization and decay of the Bloch oscillations.

Polaron dynamics with off-diagonal coupling: beyond the Ehrenfest approximation

Treated traditionally by the Ehrenfest approximation, dynamics of a one-dimensional molecular crystal model with off-diagonal exciton-phonon coupling is investigated in this work using the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational principle with the multi-D$_2$ {\it Ansatz}. It is shown that the Ehrenfest method is equivalent to our variational method with the single D$_2$ {\it Ansatz}, and with the multi-D$_2$ {\it Ansatz}, the accuracy of our simulated dynamics is significantly enhanced in comparison with the semi-classical Ehrenfest dynamics. The multi-D$_2$ {\it Ansatz} is able to capture numerically accurate exciton momentum probability and help clarify the relation between the exciton momentum redistribution and the exciton energy relaxation. The results demonstrate that the exciton momentum distributions in the steady state are determined by a combination of the transfer integral and the off-diagonal coupling strength, independent of the excitonic initial conditions. We also probe the effect of the transfer integral and the off-diagonal coupling on exciton transport in both real and reciprocal space representations. Finally, the variational method with importance sampling is employed to investigate temperature effects on exciton transport using the multi-$\rm D_2$ {\it Ansatz}, and it is demonstrated that the variational approach is valid in both low and high temperature regimes.

Polaron dynamics with a multitude of Davydov D$_2$ trial states

We propose an extension to the Davydov D$_2$ Ansatz in the dynamics study of the Holstein molecular crystal model with diagonal and off-diagonal exciton-phonon coupling using the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational principle. The new trial state by the name of the "multi-D$_2$ Ansatz" is a linear combination of Davydov D$_2$ trial states, and its validity is carefully examined by quantifying how faithfully it follows the Schrödinger equation. Considerable improvements in accuracy have been demonstrated in comparison with the usual Davydov trial states, i.e., the single D$_1$ and D$_2$ Ansätze. With an increase in the number of the Davydov D$_2$ trial states in the multi-D$_2$ Ansatz, deviation from the exact Schrödinger dynamics is gradually diminished, leading to a numerically exact solution to the Schrödinger equation.
