DSTFView: Multi-View Cloud-Edge Workload Forecasting with Dual-Input Spatio-Temporal-Frequency Modeling

With the widespread deployment of edge-side AI inference, edge platforms are increasingly required to support latency-sensitive, highly concurrent, and reliability-critical applications. However, existing methods often struggle to balance multidimensional feature modeling and forecasting efficiency in collaborative cloud-edge environments. To address this issue, we propose DSTFView, a dual-input spatio-temporal-frequency multi-view workload forecasting framework for collaborative cloud-edge environments. It jointly models closeness and period dependencies and extracts spatial, temporal, and frequency-domain dependencies. Besides, it designs an adaptive fusion mechanism and adjusts the contribution of each view to capture abrupt changes. Experimental results on the CPU and TP datasets demonstrate that DSTFView consistently outperforms representative baselines across multiple forecasting horizons and evaluation metrics.

FTimeXer: Frequency-aware Time-series Transformer with Exogenous variables for Robust Carbon Footprint Forecasting

Accurate and up-to-date forecasting of the power grid's carbon footprint is crucial for effective product carbon footprint (PCF) accounting and informed decarbonization decisions. However, the carbon intensity of the grid exhibits high non-stationarity, and existing methods often struggle to effectively leverage periodic and oscillatory patterns. Furthermore, these methods tend to perform poorly when confronted with irregular exogenous inputs, such as missing data or misalignment. To tackle these challenges, we propose FTimeXer, a frequency-aware time-series Transformer designed with a robust training scheme that accommodates exogenous factors. FTimeXer features an Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)-driven frequency branch combined with gated time-frequency fusion, allowing it to capture multi-scale periodicity effectively. It also employs stochastic exogenous masking in conjunction with consistency regularization, which helps reduce spurious correlations and enhance stability. Experiments conducted on three real-world datasets show consistent improvements over strong baselines. As a result, these enhancements lead to more reliable forecasts of grid carbon factors, which are essential for effective PCF accounting and informed decision-making regarding decarbonization.

Estimation of Spatial-Temporal Gait Parameters based on the Fusion of Inertial and Film-Pressure Signals

Gait analysis (GA) has been widely used in physical activity monitoring and clinical contexts, and the estimation of the spatial-temporal gait parameters is of primary importance for GA. With the quick development of smart tiny sensors, GA methods based on wearable devices have become more popular recently. However, most existing wearable GA methods focus on data analysis from inertial sensors. In this paper, we firstly present a two-foot-worn in-shoe system (Gaitboter) based on low-cost, wearable and multimodal sensors' fusion for GA, comprising an inertial sensor and eight film-pressure sensors with each foot for gait raw data collection while walking. Secondly, a GA algorithm for estimating the spatial-temporal parameters of gait is proposed. The algorithm fully uses the fusion of two kinds of sensors' signals: inertial sensor and film-pressure sensor, in order to estimate the spatial-temporal gait parameters, such as stance phase, swing phase, double stance phase, cadence, step time, stride time, stride length, velocity. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of this system and algorithm of the paper, an experiment is performed with 27 stoke patients from local hospital that the spatial-temporal gait parameters obtained with the system and the algorithm are compared with a GA tool used in medical laboratories. And the experimental results show that it achieves very good consistency and correlation between the proposed system and the compared GA tool.
