Reparameterization Flow Policy Optimization

Reparameterization Policy Gradient (RPG) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for model-based reinforcement learning, enabling high sample efficiency by backpropagating gradients through differentiable dynamics. However, prior RPG approaches have been predominantly restricted to Gaussian policies, limiting their performance and failing to leverage recent advances in generative models. In this work, we identify that flow policies, which generate actions via differentiable ODE integration, naturally align with the RPG framework, a connection not established in prior work. However, naively exploiting this synergy proves ineffective, often suffering from training instability and a lack of exploration. We propose Reparameterization Flow Policy Optimization (RFO). RFO computes policy gradients by backpropagating jointly through the flow generation process and system dynamics, unlocking high sample efficiency without requiring intractable log-likelihood calculations. RFO includes two tailored regularization terms for stability and exploration. We also propose a variant of RFO with action chunking. Extensive experiments on diverse locomotion and manipulation tasks, involving both rigid and soft bodies with state or visual inputs, demonstrate the effectiveness of RFO. Notably, on a challenging locomotion task controlling a soft-body quadruped, RFO achieves almost $2\times$ the reward of the state-of-the-art baseline.

Exploiting Latent Linearity in LLMs Improves Explainable Molecular Representation Learning

Large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated broad utility across molecular domains, spanning drug discovery and materials design. Analyzing LLMs' latent representations is crucial for elucidating their underlying mechanisms, improving explainability, and ultimately advancing downstream performance. We propose MoleX, a simple yet effective framework that decomposes molecular embeddings within LLM representations into a concept-aligned space for explainable molecular representation learning. We further show that these high-dimensional embeddings admit a linear mapping onto chemically consistent concepts. Our analysis suggests that the uncovered linearity aligns with established chemical principles, indicating a mechanistically explainable latent structure in LLM representations for scientific applications. When applied to downstream tasks, this latent linearity improves both predictive and explanatory performance. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MoleX outperforms existing approaches in accuracy, explainability, and efficiency, achieving CPU inference on large-scale datasets 300 times faster with 100,000 fewer parameters than LLMs.

Radiation Pattern Reconfigurable FAS-Empowered Interference-Resilient UAV Communication

The widespread use of uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) has propelled the development of advanced techniques on countering unauthorized UAV flights. However, the resistance of legal UAVs to illegal interference remains under-addressed. This paper proposes radiation pattern reconfigurable fluid antenna systems (RPR-FAS)-empowered interference-resilient UAV communication scheme. This scheme integrates the reconfigurable pixel antenna technology, which provides each antenna with an adjustable radiation pattern. Therefore, RPR-FAS can enhance the angular resolution of a UAV with a limited number of antennas, thereby improving spectral efficiency (SE) and interference resilience. Specifically, we first design dedicated radiation pattern adapted from 3GPP-TR-38.901, where the beam direction and half power beamwidth are tailored for UAV communications. Furthermore, we propose a low-storage-overhead orthogonal matching pursuit multiple measurement vectors algorithm, which accurately estimates the angle-of-arrival (AoA) of the communication link, even in the single antenna case. Particularly, by utilizing the Fourier transform to the radiation pattern gain matrix, we design a dimension-reduction technique to achieve 1--2 order-of-magnitude reduction in storage requirements. Meanwhile, we propose a maximum likelihood interference AoA estimation method based on the law of large numbers, so that the SE can be further improved. Finally, alternating optimization is employed to obtain the optimal uplink radiation pattern and combiner, while an exhaustive search is applied to determine the optimal downlink pattern, complemented by the water-filling algorithm for beamforming. Comprehensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed schemes outperform traditional methods in terms of angular sensing precision and spectral efficiency.

Large Model Enabled Embodied Intelligence for 6G Integrated Perception, Communication, and Computation Network

The advent of sixth-generation (6G) places intelligence at the core of wireless architecture, fusing perception, communication, and computation into a single closed-loop. This paper argues that large artificial intelligence models (LAMs) can endow base stations with perception, reasoning, and acting capabilities, thus transforming them into intelligent base station agents (IBSAs). We first review the historical evolution of BSs from single-functional analog infrastructure to distributed, software-defined, and finally LAM-empowered IBSA, highlighting the accompanying changes in architecture, hardware platforms, and deployment. We then present an IBSA architecture that couples a perception-cognition-execution pipeline with cloud-edge-end collaboration and parameter-efficient adaptation. Subsequently,we study two representative scenarios: (i) cooperative vehicle-road perception for autonomous driving, and (ii) ubiquitous base station support for low-altitude uncrewed aerial vehicle safety monitoring and response against unauthorized drones. On this basis, we analyze key enabling technologies spanning LAM design and training, efficient edge-cloud inference, multi-modal perception and actuation, as well as trustworthy security and governance. We further propose a holistic evaluation framework and benchmark considerations that jointly cover communication performance, perception accuracy, decision-making reliability, safety, and energy efficiency. Finally, we distill open challenges on benchmarks, continual adaptation, trustworthy decision-making, and standardization. Together, this work positions LAM-enabled IBSAs as a practical path toward integrated perception, communication, and computation native, safety-critical 6G systems.

Chirp Delay-Doppler Domain Modulation Based Joint Communication and Radar for Autonomous Vehicles

This paper introduces a sensing-centric joint communication and millimeter-wave radar paradigm to facilitate collaboration among intelligent vehicles. We first propose a chirp waveform-based delay-Doppler quadrature amplitude modulation (DD-QAM) that modulates data across delay, Doppler, and amplitude dimensions. Building upon this modulation scheme, we derive its achievable rate to quantify the communication performance. We then introduce an extended Kalman filter-based scheme for four-dimensional (4D) parameter estimation in dynamic environments, enabling the active vehicles to accurately estimate orientation and tangential-velocity beyond traditional 4D radar systems. Furthermore, in terms of communication, we propose a dual-compensation-based demodulation and tracking scheme that allows the passive vehicles to effectively demodulate data without compromising their sensing functions. Simulation results underscore the feasibility and superior performance of our proposed methods, marking a significant advancement in the field of autonomous vehicles. From Solo to Symphony: Orchestrating Multi-Agent Collaboration with Single-Agent Demos

Training a team of agents from scratch in multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) is highly inefficient, much like asking beginners to play a symphony together without first practicing solo. Existing methods, such as offline or transferable MARL, can ease this burden, but they still rely on costly multi-agent data, which often becomes the bottleneck. In contrast, solo experiences are far easier to obtain in many important scenarios, e.g., collaborative coding, household cooperation, and search-and-rescue. To unlock their potential, we propose Solo-to-Collaborative RL (SoCo), a framework that transfers solo knowledge into cooperative learning. SoCo first pretrains a shared solo policy from solo demonstrations, then adapts it for cooperation during multi-agent training through a policy fusion mechanism that combines an MoE-like gating selector and an action editor. Experiments across diverse cooperative tasks show that SoCo significantly boosts the training efficiency and performance of backbone algorithms. These results demonstrate that solo demonstrations provide a scalable and effective complement to multi-agent data, making cooperative learning more practical and broadly applicable.

Pseudo-Random TDM-MIMO FMCW Based Millimeter-Wave Sensing and Communication Integration for UAV Swarm

The integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) can achieve the sharing of hardware and spectrum resources, enabling efficient data transmission and environmental sensing. This fusion is particularly important for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms, as it enhances the overall performance, flexibility, and efficiency of such systems. To facilitate the collaborative operations among UAVs, this paper proposes an ISAC solution based on the pseudo-random time-division multiplexing (TDM)-multiple input multiple output (MIMO) millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW). Specifically, a novel ISAC chirp waveform is proposed to modulate data in both the delay domain and complex amplitude, while also possessing high-precision sensing capabilities. To address challenges in the TDM-MIMO, we utilize the pseudo-random antenna selection and compressed sensing algorithms, ensuring that the maximum unambiguous velocity is not compromised. Moreover, by employing a chirp-division multiple access scheme, we propose an interference-free multiple antenna transmission scheme to achieve dynamic allocation of time-frequency resources and multi-user transmission. Finally, we propose a communication and sensing fusion-based dynamic iterative computation scheme, simultaneously achieving data demodulation and sensing parameter estimation. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve ISAC under the dynamic flight scenarios of UAVs. Meanwhile, the scheme outperforms the mmWave-LoRadar in communication and sensing performance, yet its sensing performance is slightly lower than that of the traditional FMCW. Under the urban clutter modeling, the scheme still maintains favorable robustness despite a certain degree of performance degradation.

Beyond Shallow Behavior: Task-Efficient Value-Based Multi-Task Offline MARL via Skill Discovery

As a data-driven approach, offline MARL learns superior policies solely from offline datasets, ideal for domains rich in historical data but with high interaction costs and risks. However, most existing methods are task-specific, requiring retraining for new tasks, leading to redundancy and inefficiency. To address this issue, we propose a task-efficient value-based multi-task offline MARL algorithm, Skill-Discovery Conservative Q-Learning (SD-CQL). Unlike existing methods decoding actions from skills via behavior cloning, SD-CQL discovers skills in a latent space by reconstructing the next observation, evaluates fixed and variable actions separately, and uses conservative Q-learning with local value calibration to select the optimal action for each skill. It eliminates the need for local-global alignment and enables strong multi-task generalization from limited, small-scale source tasks. Substantial experiments on StarCraft II demonstrate the superior generalization performance and task-efficiency of SD-CQL. It achieves the best performance on $\textbf{13}$ out of $14$ task sets, with up to $\textbf{68.9%}$ improvement on individual task sets.

Silentflow: Leveraging Trusted Execution for Resource-Limited MPC via Hardware-Algorithm Co-design

Secure Multi-Party Computation (MPC) offers a practical foundation for privacy-preserving machine learning at the edge, with MPC commonly employed to support nonlinear operations. These MPC protocols fundamentally rely on Oblivious Transfer (OT), particularly Correlated OT (COT), to generate correlated randomness essential for secure computation. Although COT generation is efficient in conventional two-party settings with resource-rich participants, it becomes a critical bottleneck in real-world inference on resource-constrained devices (e.g., IoT sensors and wearables), due to both communication latency and limited computational capacity. To enable real-time secure inference, we introduce Silentflow, a highly efficient Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-assisted protocol that eliminates communication in COT generation. We tackle the core performance bottleneck-low computational intensity-through structured algorithmic decomposition: kernel fusion for parallelism, Blocked On-chip eXpansion (BOX) to improve memory access patterns, and vectorized batch operations to maximize memory bandwidth utilization. Through design space exploration, we balance end-to-end latency and resource demands, achieving up to 39.51x speedup over state-of-the-art protocols. By offloading COT computations to a Zynq-7000 SoC, SilentFlow accelerates PPMLaaS inference on the ImageNet dataset under resource constraints, achieving a 4.62x and 3.95x speedup over Cryptflow2 and Cheetah, respectively.

On Path to Multimodal Historical Reasoning: HistBench and HistAgent

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have led to remarkable progress across domains, yet their capabilities in the humanities, particularly history, remain underexplored. Historical reasoning poses unique challenges for AI, involving multimodal source interpretation, temporal inference, and cross-linguistic analysis. While general-purpose agents perform well on many existing benchmarks, they lack the domain-specific expertise required to engage with historical materials and questions. To address this gap, we introduce HistBench, a new benchmark of 414 high-quality questions designed to evaluate AI's capacity for historical reasoning and authored by more than 40 expert contributors. The tasks span a wide range of historical problems-from factual retrieval based on primary sources to interpretive analysis of manuscripts and images, to interdisciplinary challenges involving archaeology, linguistics, or cultural history. Furthermore, the benchmark dataset spans 29 ancient and modern languages and covers a wide range of historical periods and world regions. Finding the poor performance of LLMs and other agents on HistBench, we further present HistAgent, a history-specific agent equipped with carefully designed tools for OCR, translation, archival search, and image understanding in History. On HistBench, HistAgent based on GPT-4o achieves an accuracy of 27.54% pass@1 and 36.47% pass@2, significantly outperforming LLMs with online search and generalist agents, including GPT-4o (18.60%), DeepSeek-R1(14.49%) and Open Deep Research-smolagents(20.29% pass@1 and 25.12% pass@2). These results highlight the limitations of existing LLMs and generalist agents and demonstrate the advantages of HistAgent for historical reasoning.

Chirp Delay-Doppler Domain Modulation: A New Paradigm of Integrated Sensing and Communication for Autonomous Vehicles

Autonomous driving is reshaping the way humans travel, with millimeter wave (mmWave) radar playing a crucial role in this transformation to enabe vehicle-to-everything (V2X). Although chirp is widely used in mmWave radar systems for its strong sensing capabilities, the lack of integrated communication functions in existing systems may limit further advancement of autonomous driving. In light of this, we first design ``dedicated chirps" tailored for sensing chirp signals in the environment, facilitating the identification of idle time-frequency resources. Based on these dedicated chirps, we propose a chirp-division multiple access (Chirp-DMA) scheme, enabling multiple pairs of mmWave radar transceivers to perform integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) without interference. Subsequently, we propose two chirp-based delay-Doppler domain modulation schemes that enable each pair of mmWave radar transceivers to simultaneously sense and communicate within their respective time-frequency resource blocks. The modulation schemes are based on different multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar schemes: the time division multiplexing (TDM)-based scheme offers higher communication rates, while the Doppler division multiplexing (DDM)-based scheme is suitable for working in a lower signal-to-noise ratio range. We then validate the effectiveness of the proposed DDM-based scheme through simulations. Finally, we present some challenges and issues that need to be addressed to advance ISAC in V2X for better autonomous driving. Simulation codes are provided to reproduce the results in this paper: \href{https://github.com/LiZhuoRan0/2025-IEEE-Network-ChirpDelayDopplerModulationISAC}{https://github.com/LiZhuoRan0}.

MmWave-LoRadar Empowered Vehicular Integrated Sensing and Communication Systems: LoRa Meets FMCW

The integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) technique is regarded as a key component in future vehicular applications. In this paper, we propose an ISAC solution that integrates Long Range (LoRa) modulation with frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar in the millimeter-wave (mmWave) band, called mmWave-LoRadar. This design introduces the sensing capabilities to the LoRa communication with a simplified hardware architecture. Particularly, we uncover the dual discontinuity issues in time and phase of the mmWave-LoRadar received signals, rendering conventional signal processing techniques ineffective. As a remedy, we propose a corresponding hardware design and signal processing schemes under the compressed sampling framework. These techniques effectively cope with the dual discontinuity issues and mitigate the demands for high-sampling-rate analog-to-digital converters while achieving good performance. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the mmWave-LoRadar ISAC system in vehicular communication and sensing networks.

Building a Human-Verified Clinical Reasoning Dataset via a Human LLM Hybrid Pipeline for Trustworthy Medical AI

Despite strong performance in medical question-answering, the clinical adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs) is critically hampered by their opaque 'black-box' reasoning, limiting clinician trust. This challenge is compounded by the predominant reliance of current medical LLMs on corpora from scientific literature or synthetic data, which often lack the granular expert validation and high clinical relevance essential for advancing their specialized medical capabilities. To address these critical gaps, we introduce a highly clinically relevant dataset with 31,247 medical question-answer pairs, each accompanied by expert-validated chain-of-thought (CoT) explanations. This resource, spanning multiple clinical domains, was curated via a scalable human-LLM hybrid pipeline: LLM-generated rationales were iteratively reviewed, scored, and refined by medical experts against a structured rubric, with substandard outputs revised through human effort or guided LLM regeneration until expert consensus. This publicly available dataset provides a vital source for the development of medical LLMs that capable of transparent and verifiable reasoning, thereby advancing safer and more interpretable AI in medicine.

Statistical features of quantum chaos using the Krylov operator complexity

We study the statistical properties of Lanczos coefficients over an ensemble of random initial operators generating the Krylov space. We propose two statistical quantities that are important in characterizing the complexity: the average correlation matrix $\langle x_{i} x_{j}\rangle$ of Lanczos coefficients and the resulting distribution of the variance of Lanczos coefficients. Their resulting statistics are the Wishart distribution and the (rescaled) chi-square distribution respectively, which are independent of the distributions of initial operators and become the normal distribution in the case of large matrix size. As a numerical example, we use the typical billiard system with an integrability-breaking term and choose samples of random initial operators from given probability distributions (GOE, GUE and the uniform distribution). It agrees with the phenomenological analysis and further interesting behaviors are obtained, which indicates a consistent connection between RMT, Anderson localization and Krylov complexity.

Implicit Word Reordering with Knowledge Distillation for Cross-Lingual Dependency Parsing

Word order difference between source and target languages is a major obstacle to cross-lingual transfer, especially in the dependency parsing task. Current works are mostly based on order-agnostic models or word reordering to mitigate this problem. However, such methods either do not leverage grammatical information naturally contained in word order or are computationally expensive as the permutation space grows exponentially with the sentence length. Moreover, the reordered source sentence with an unnatural word order may be a form of noising that harms the model learning. To this end, we propose an Implicit Word Reordering framework with Knowledge Distillation (IWR-KD). This framework is inspired by that deep networks are good at learning feature linearization corresponding to meaningful data transformation, e.g. word reordering. To realize this idea, we introduce a knowledge distillation framework composed of a word-reordering teacher model and a dependency parsing student model. We verify our proposed method on Universal Dependency Treebanks across 31 different languages and show it outperforms a series of competitors, together with experimental analysis to illustrate how our method works towards training a robust parser.

Decoupling for finite type phases in higher dimensions

In this paper, we establish an $\ell^2$ decoupling inequality for the hypersurface \[\Big\{(ξ_1,...,ξ_{n-1},ξ_1^m+...+ξ_{n-1}^m): (ξ_1,...,ξ_{n-1}) \in [0,1]^{n-1}\Big\}\]associated with the decomposition adapted to hypersufaces of finite type, where $n\geq 2$ and $m\geq 4$ is an even number. The key ingredients of the proof include an $\ell^2$ decoupling inequality for the hypersurfaces \[\Big\{(ξ_1,...,ξ_{n-1},ϕ_1(ξ_1)+...+ϕ_s(ξ_s)+ξ_{s+1}^m+...+ξ_{n-1}^m): (ξ_1,...,ξ_{n-1}) \in [0,1]^{n-1}\Big\},\] $0 \leq s \leq n-1$, with $ϕ_1,...,ϕ_s$ being $m$-nondegenerate.

Minimizing information loss reduces spiking neuronal networks to differential equations

Spiking neuronal networks (SNNs) are widely used in computational neuroscience, from biologically realistic modeling of local cortical networks to phenomenological modeling of the whole brain. Despite their prevalence, a systematic mathematical theory for finite-sized SNNs remains elusive, even for idealized homogeneous networks. The primary challenges are twofold: 1) the rich, parameter-sensitive SNN dynamics, and 2) the singularity and irreversibility of spikes. These challenges pose significant difficulties when relating SNNs to systems of differential equations, leading previous studies to impose additional assumptions or to focus on individual dynamic regimes. In this study, we introduce a Markov approximation of homogeneous SNN dynamics to minimize information loss when translating SNNs into ordinary differential equations. Our only assumption for the Markov approximation is the fast self-decorrelation of synaptic conductances. The system of ordinary differential equations derived from the Markov model effectively captures high-frequency partial synchrony and the metastability of finite-neuron networks produced by interacting excitatory and inhibitory populations. Besides accurately predicting dynamical statistics, such as firing rates, our theory also quantitatively captures the geometry of attractors and bifurcation structures of SNNs. Thus, our work provides a comprehensive mathematical framework that can systematically map parameters of single-neuron physiology, network coupling, and external stimuli to homogeneous SNN dynamics.

Unauthorized UAV Countermeasure for Low-Altitude Economy: Joint Communications and Jamming based on MIMO Cellular Systems

To ensure the thriving development of low-altitude economy, countering unauthorized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is an essential task. The existing widely deployed base stations hold great potential for joint communication and jamming. In light of this, this paper investigates the joint design of beamforming to simultaneously support communication with legitimate users and countermeasure against unauthorized UAVs based on dual-functional multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) cellular systems. We first formulate a joint communication and jamming (JCJ) problem, relaxing it through semi-definite relaxation (SDR) to obtain a tractable semi-definite programming (SDP) problem, with SDR providing an essential step toward simplifying the complex JCJ design. Although the solution to the relaxed SDP problem cannot directly solve the original problem, it offers valuable insights for further refinement. Therefore, we design a novel constraint specifically tailored to the structure of the SDP problem, ensuring that the solution adheres to the rank-1 constraint of the original problem. Finally, we validate effectiveness of the proposed JCJ scheme through extensive simulations. Simulation codes are provided to reproduce the results in this paper: https://github.com/LiZhuoRan0. The results confirm that the proposed JCJ scheme can operate effectively when the total number of legitimate users and unauthorized UAVs exceeds the number of antennas.
