PerceptionBench: Evaluating Atomic Visual Perception in Multimodal Large Language Models

We introduce PerceptionBench, a benchmark specifically designed to evaluate the atomic visual perception capabilities of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs). Existing benchmarks often fail to isolate perception: holistic evaluations conflate perceptual errors with failures in reasoning or domain knowledge, while application-driven benchmarks only cover narrow, fragmented domains shaped by heuristic designs. To address these limitations, PerceptionBench adopts a bottom-up approach: by diagnosing the earliest failure points in the responses of frontier MLLMs across 42 existing benchmarks, we construct an error taxonomy whose perception branch defines ten atomic perceptual capabilities. Guided by this taxonomy, we construct 3,000 verified questions with short, unambiguous answers, each isolating a single capability, with difficulty stemming from perception rather than reasoning or knowledge. Benchmark results across sixteen frontier MLLMs reveal that atomic perception remains largely unsolved---no model reaches 60\% accuracy, perception-related hallucination is the weakest capability on average, and similar overall scores conceal sharply divergent capability profiles. PerceptionBench thus provides a capability-level standard for measuring and diagnosing the visual perception boundaries of MLLMs.

SuperInfer: SLO-Aware Rotary Scheduling and Memory Management for LLM Inference on Superchips

Large Language Model (LLM) serving faces a fundamental tension between stringent latency Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and limited GPU memory capacity. When high request rates exhaust the KV cache budget, existing LLM inference systems often suffer severe head-of-line (HOL) blocking. While prior work explored PCIe-based offloading, these approaches cannot sustain responsiveness under high request rates, often failing to meet tight Time-To-First-Token (TTFT) and Time-Between-Tokens (TBT) SLOs. We present SuperInfer, a high-performance LLM inference system designed for emerging Superchips (e.g., NVIDIA GH200) with tightly coupled GPU-CPU architecture via NVLink-C2C. SuperInfer introduces RotaSched, the first proactive, SLO-aware rotary scheduler that rotates requests to maintain responsiveness on Superchips, and DuplexKV, an optimized rotation engine that enables full-duplex transfer over NVLink-C2C. Evaluations on GH200 using various models and datasets show that SuperInfer improves TTFT SLO attainment rates by up to 74.7% while maintaining comparable TBT and throughput compared to state-of-the-art systems, demonstrating that SLO-aware scheduling and memory co-design unlocks the full potential of Superchips for responsive LLM serving. Chromium Self-Traceable Length Standard: Investigating Geometry and Diffraction for Length Traceability Chain

Natural constant-based metrology methods offer an effective approach to achieving traceability in nanometric measurements. The Cr grating, fabricated by atom lithography and featuring a pitch of $d=212.7705\pm0.0049~{\rm nm}$ traceable to the Cr transition frequency $^{7}S_{3}$ $\rightarrow$ $^{7}P_{4}^{0}$, demonstrates potential as a self-traceable length standard in nano-length metrology by grating interferometer. This research aims to analyze and engineer the diffraction characteristics that enhance the Cr grating as a self-traceable length standard within the length traceability chain based on the Cr transition frequency. Accordingly, we investigate the geometric morphology and diffraction characteristics of the Cr grating, analyzes the influence of the grating's polarization-sensitive characteristics on the Littrow configuration grating interferometer, and establishes the criteria for Cr grating fabrication. Experimentally, we fabricate an expanded Cr grating by scanning atom lithography, characterize its diffraction performance, and conduct preliminary verification of length measurement in a self-traceable grating interferometer. This work adheres to the international trend of flattened metrology development, offering a valuable reference for advancing subsequent metrological technologies throughout the new traceability chain.

Nanometer displacement measurement based on metrological self-mixing grating interferometer traceable to the pitch standard of one-dimension chromium self-traceable grating

Traceability of precision instrument and measuring method is the core issue in metrology science. In the field of nanometer length measurement, the laser interferometers are usually used to trace the measurement value to the laser wavelength, but the laser wavelength is sensitive to the environment disturbance. Chromium self-traceable grating is an ideal nanometer length reference grating with pitch traceability, fabricated by the atomic lithography technique. The new nanometer length traceability chain can be established based on the pitch traceability of chromium self-traceable grating, which is often used to calibrate the systematic error of the atomic force microscope. In this paper, the metrological self-mixing grating interferometer based on the chromium self-traceable grating (SMGI-Cr) is firstly established, whose interfere phase is traceable to the pitch of the chromium self-traceable grating directly and traceable to the chromium atomic transition frequency of energy level 7 S 3 to 7 P 4 indirectly. The nanometer displacement measurement is also achieved by the SMGI-Cr. The measurement error is no more than 0.2366%, compared to a commercial interferometer.

Length traceability chain based on chromium atom transition frequency

Precise positioning measurement plays an important role in in today advanced manufacturing industry, and length traceability chain has been optimizing and enriching to fulfill the developing and various precise positioning requirement. In this paper, we propose a new length traceability chain based on chromium atom transition frequency, which is a combining utilization of fundamental physical constant accuracy and grating interferometer environmental robustness. The selftraceable grating pitch standard, the selftraceable angle standard and the selftraceable grating interferometer are promising to improve the measurement accuracy, consistency and selfcalibration ability in situ for precise positioning.

Knowledge-Enhanced Relation Extraction Dataset

Recently, knowledge-enhanced methods leveraging auxiliary knowledge graphs have emerged in relation extraction, surpassing traditional text-based approaches. However, to our best knowledge, there is currently no public dataset available that encompasses both evidence sentences and knowledge graphs for knowledge-enhanced relation extraction. To address this gap, we introduce the Knowledge-Enhanced Relation Extraction Dataset (KERED). KERED annotates each sentence with a relational fact, and it provides knowledge context for entities through entity linking. Using our curated dataset, We compared contemporary relation extraction methods under two prevalent task settings: sentence-level and bag-level. The experimental result shows the knowledge graphs provided by KERED can support knowledge-enhanced relation extraction methods. We believe that KERED offers high-quality relation extraction datasets with corresponding knowledge graphs for evaluating the performance of knowledge-enhanced relation extraction methods. Our dataset is available at: \url{https://figshare.com/projects/KERED/134459}

First Identification of New X-Ray Spectra of Mo39+, Mo40+, W43+, W44+ and W45+ on EAST

New high-resolution x-ray spectra of Mo39+, Mo40+, W43+, W44+ and W45+ have been carefully confirmed for the first time by use of the x-ray imaging crystal spectrometer (XCS) in Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) under various combined auxiliary heating plasmas conditions. Wavelength of these new x-ray spectra is ranged from 3.895 {\AA} to 3.986 {\AA}. When core electron temperature (Te0) reaches 6.0 keV, Mo39+ and Mo40+ lines of 3.9727, 3.9294 and 3.9480 {\AA} can be effectively detected on XCS for EAST; meanwhile, line-integrated brightness of these spectral lines of Mo39+ and Mo40+ is very considerable when electron temperature reaches 12.9 keV. Multi-components spectral lines for W43+, W44+ and W45+ have also been identified when Te0 reaches 6 keV. Parts of spectral lines, such as Zn-1, Cu-2, Cu-4a, Cu-4d and Cu-5 lines of tungsten, are first observed experimentally. When electron temperature reaches 12.9 keV, line-integrated intensity for part of these spectral lines of W43+, W44+ and W45+ are considerable. These experimental results and theoretical predictions from FAC and FLYCHK codes are in good general agreement. These new spectral lines, obtained on XCS for EAST, are vital for deeply uncovering the mechanisms of ion and electron thermal, high-Z impurity and momentum (anomalous) transport to achieve the advanced steady-state operation scenarios for ITER and CFETR.
