Flow Field Reconstruction with Sensor Placement Policy Learning

Flow-field reconstruction from sparse sensor measurements remains a central challenge in modern fluid dynamics, as the need for high-fidelity data often conflicts with practical limits on sensor deployment. Existing deep learning-based methods have demonstrated promising results, but they typically depend on simplifying assumptions such as two-dimensional domains, predefined governing equations, synthetic datasets derived from idealized flow physics, and unconstrained sensor placement. In this work, we address these limitations by studying flow reconstruction under realistic conditions and introducing a directional transport-aware Graph Neural Network (GNN) that explicitly encodes both flow directionality and information transport. We further show that conventional sensor placement strategies frequently yield suboptimal configurations. To overcome this, we propose a novel Two-Step Constrained PPO procedure for Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO), which jointly optimizes sensor layouts by incorporating flow variability and accounts for reconstruction model's performance disparity with respect to sensor placement. We conduct comprehensive experiments under realistic assumptions to benchmark the performance of our reconstruction model and sensor placement policy. Together, they achieve significant improvements over existing methods.

Asymptotic behavior at infinity and existence of solutions to the Lagrangian mean curvature flow in $\mathbb R^{n+1}_-$

This paper investigates the asymptotic behavior at infinity of ancient solutions to the Lagrangian mean curvature flow. Under conditions that admit Liouville type rigidity theorems, we prove that every classical solution converges at infinity to the sum of a quadratic polynomial in $x$ and a linear function in $t$, with an explicitly derived exponential rate of convergence. As a critical part of the proof framework of this paper, we establish the existence of a global viscosity solution with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity, featuring two key innovations: (i) applicability to all dimensions $n\geq 2$, and (ii) no requirement that the Hessian matrix of the prescribed quadratic term be positive definite or close to a scalar multiple of the identity matrix. These results establish the relationship between Liouville type rigidity, asymptotic analysis at infinity, and the existence of viscosity solutions.

Entire solutions to the parabolic Monge--Ampère equation with unbounded nonlinear growth in time

The Liouville type theorem on the parabolic Monge--Ampère equation $-u_t\det D^2u=1$ states that any entire parabolically convex classical solution must be of form $-t+|x|^2/2$ up to a re-scaling and transformation, under additional assumption that partial derivative with respect to time variable $u_t$ is strictly negative and bounded. In this paper, we study the case when $u_t$ is unbounded, prove an existence result of entire parabolically convex smooth solution and investigate the asymptotic behavior near infinity.

Existence of entire solutions to the Lagrangian mean curvature equations in supercritical phase

In this paper, we establish the existence and uniqueness theorem of entire solutions to the Lagrangian mean curvature equations with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity. The phase functions are assumed to be supercritical and converge to a constant in a certain rate at infinity. The basic idea is to establish uniform estimates for the approximating problems defined on bounded domains and the main ingredient is to construct appropriate subsolutions and supersolutions as barrier functions. We also prove a nonexistence result to show the convergence rate of the phase functions is optimal.

Asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Monge--Ampère equations with slow convergence rate at infinity

We consider the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Monge--Ampère equations with slow convergence rate at infinity and fulfill previous results under faster convergence rate by Bao--Li--Zhang [Calc. Var PDE. 52(2015). pp. 39-63]. Different from known results, we obtain the limit of Hessian and/or gradient of solution at infinity relying on the convergence rate. The basic idea is to use a revised level set method, the spherical harmonic expansion and the iteration method.

Asymptotic expansion of 2-dimensional gradient graph with vanishing mean curvature at infinity

In this paper, we establish the asymptotic expansion at infinity of gradient graph in dimension 2 with vanishing mean curvature at infinity. This corresponds to our previous results in higher dimensions and generalizes the results for minimal gradient graph on exterior domain in dimension 2. Different from the strategies for higher dimensions, instead of the equivalence of Green's function on unbounded domains, we apply a version of iteration methods from Bao--Li--Zhang [Calc.Var PDE, 52(2015), pp. 39-63] that is refined by spherical harmonic expansions to provide a more explicit asymptotic behavior than known results.

Asymptotic expansion and optimal symmetry of minimal gradient graph equations in dimension 2

In this paper, we study asymptotic expansion at infinity and symmetry of zero mean curvature equations of gradient graph in dimension 2, which include the Monge--Ampère equation, inverse harmonic Hessian equation and the special Lagrangian equation. This refines the research of asymptotic behavior, gives the precise gap between exterior minimal gradient graph and the entire case, and extends the classification results of Monge--Ampère equations.

Symmetry of solutions of minimal gradient graph equations on punctured space

In this paper, we study symmetry and existence of solutions of minimal gradient graph equations on punctured space $\mathbb R^n\setminus\{0\}$, which include the Monge-Ampère equation, inverse harmonic Hessian equation and the special Lagrangian equation. This extends the classification results of Monge-Ampère equations. Under some conditions, we also give the characterization of the solvability on exterior Dirichlet problem in terms of their asymptotic behaviors.

Asymptotic expansion at infinity of solutions of special Lagrangian equations

We obtain a quantitative high order expansion at infinity of solutions for a family of fully nonlinear elliptic equations on exterior domain, refine the study of the asymptotic behavior of the Monge-Ampère equation, the special Lagrangian equation and other elliptic equations, and give the precise gap between exterior maximal (or minimal) gradient graph and the entire case.

Asymptotic behavior at infinity of solutions of Lagrangian mean curvature equations

We studied the asymptotic behavior of solutions with quadratic growth condition of a class of Lagrangian mean curvature equations $F_τ(λ(D^2u))=f(x)$ in exterior domain, where $f$ satisfies a given asymptotic behavior at infinity. When f(x) is a constant near infinity, it is not necessary to demand the quadratic growth condition anymore. These results are a kind of exterior Liouville theorem, and can also be regarded as an extension of theorems of Pogorelov, Flanders and Yuan.
