Towards Unified Song Generation and Singing Voice Conversion with Accompaniment Co-Generation

While song generation and singing voice conversion (SVC) have evolved significantly, they have long been developed isolated: the former lacks zero-shot speaker cloning, while the latter overlooks vocal-accompaniment synergy. To bridge this gap, we propose UniSinger, the first end-to-end framework unifying speaker cloning song generation and accompaniment co-generation SVC. Building on the multimodal diffusion transformer, we construct a unified speaker embedding space transferring speaker representation from SVC to song generation, endowing fine-grained cross-task timbre control. To mitigate multi-task optimization conflicts, we design a curriculum learning strategy using task-specific modality masking to guide the model to gradually master the generative mechanisms among semantic content, vocal timbre, and accompaniment. Experiments show state-of-the-art performance on both tasks and realizes complementary benefits, offering new possibilities for intelligent music production.

Beyond Semantic Dominance: Cognitive Affective Reasoning and Empathetic Response Alignment in Audio Language Models

While Audio Language Models (ALMs) demonstrate strong semantic understanding, they struggle with complex affective interactions. Specifically, textual semantic dominance often overshadows acoustic nuances, and a lack of cognitive depth leads to generic, emotion-agnostic responses. We propose CogAudio-LLM\footnote{ \urlstyle{same} https://github.com/zxzhao0/CogAudio-LLM, a novel cognitive affective reasoning framework. To mitigate semantic dominance, we build LIME-440K, a ``lexically-identical, multi-emotion'' dataset designed to facilitate acoustic-semantic decoupling. We introduce EIPS, a 4-step Chain-of-Thought (CoT) mechanism incorporating psychological reasoning. For inference efficiency, multi-stage training explicitly establishes EIPS via supervised fine-tuning, then distills this logic into an implicit generation process. Finally, we design DR-SAPO (Dual-Route Soft Adaptive Policy Optimization) to dynamically balance the logical rigor of the CoT with the empathetic quality of the direct response.

Vision SmolMamba: Spike-Guided Token Pruning for Energy-Efficient Spiking State-Space Vision Models

Spiking Transformers have shown strong potential for long-range visual modeling through spike-driven self-attention. However, their quadratic token interactions remain fundamentally misaligned with the sparse and event-driven nature of spiking neural computation. To address this limitation, we propose Vision SmolMamba, an energy-efficient spiking state-space architecture that integrates spike-driven dynamics with linear-time selective recurrence. The key idea is a Spike-Guided Spatio-Temporal Token Pruner (SST-TP), which estimates token importance using both spike activation strength and first-spike latency. This mechanism progressively removes redundant tokens while preserving salient spatio-temporal information, enabling efficient scaling with token sparsity. Based on this mechanism, the proposed SmolMamba block incorporates spike events directly into bidirectional state-space recurrence, forming a spiking state-space vision backbone for efficient long-range modeling. Extensive experiments on both static and event-based benchmarks, including ImageNet-1K, CIFAR10/100, CIFAR10-DVS, and DVS128 Gesture, demonstrate that Vision SmolMamba consistently achieves superior accuracy-efficiency trade-offs. In particular, it reduces the estimated energy cost by at least 1.5x compared with prior spiking Transformer baselines and a Spiking Mamba variant while maintaining competitive or improved accuracy. These results demonstrate that combining spike-guided token sparsity with state-space modeling offers a scalable and energy-efficient paradigm for spiking vision systems.

SMP: Reusable Score-Matching Motion Priors for Physics-Based Character Control

Data-driven motion priors that can guide agents toward producing naturalistic behaviors play a pivotal role in creating life-like virtual characters. Adversarial imitation learning has been a highly effective method for learning motion priors from reference motion data. However, adversarial priors, with few exceptions, need to be retrained for each new controller, thereby limiting their reusability and necessitating the retention of the reference motion data when applied to downstream tasks. In this work, we present Score-Matching Motion Priors (SMP), which leverages pre-trained motion diffusion models and score distillation sampling (SDS) to create reusable task-agnostic motion priors. SMPs can be pre-trained on a motion dataset, independent of any control policy or task. Once trained, SMPs can be kept frozen and reused as general-purpose reward functions to train new policies to produce naturalistic behaviors for downstream tasks. We show that a general motion prior trained on large-scale datasets can be repurposed into a variety of style-specific priors. Furthermore, SMP can compose different styles to synthesize new styles not present in the original dataset. Our method can create reusable and modular motion priors that produce high-quality motions comparable to state-of-the-art adversarial imitation learning methods. In our experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of SMP across a diverse suite of control tasks with physically simulated humanoid characters. Video available at https://youtu.be/jBA2tWk6vzU

UniSonate: A Unified Model for Speech, Music, and Sound Effect Generation with Text Instructions

Generative audio modeling has largely been fragmented into specialized tasks, text-to-speech (TTS), text-to-music (TTM), and text-to-audio (TTA), each operating under heterogeneous control paradigms. Unifying these modalities remains a fundamental challenge due to the intrinsic dissonance between structured semantic representations (speech/music) and unstructured acoustic textures (sound effects). In this paper, we introduce UniSonate, a unified flow-matching framework capable of synthesizing speech, music, and sound effects through a standardized, reference-free natural language instruction interface. To reconcile structural disparities, we propose a novel dynamic token injection mechanism that projects unstructured environmental sounds into a structured temporal latent space, enabling precise duration control within a phoneme-driven Multimodal Diffusion Transformer (MM-DiT). Coupled with a multi-stage curriculum learning strategy, this approach effectively mitigates cross-modal optimization conflicts. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniSonate achieves state-of-the-art performance in instruction-based TTS (WER 1.47%) and TTM (SongEval Coherence 3.18), while maintaining competitive fidelity in TTA. Crucially, we observe positive transfer, where joint training on diverse audio data significantly enhances structural coherence and prosodic expressiveness compared to single-task baselines. Audio samples are available at https://qiangchunyu.github.io/UniSonate/.

Degenerations of generalized Kummer varieties

We present a method to construct explicit degenerations of higher-dimensional generalized Kummer varieties. We start with a simple degeneration $f: \mathcal Y \to C$ of abelian surfaces. Then $ \mathcal{Y} \setminus \mathcal{Y}_0$ is an abelian scheme over $C \setminus 0$ and we can form the relative generalized Kummer variety $K^{n-1}_{\circ} = \mathrm{Kum}^{n-1}(\mathcal{Y} \setminus \mathcal{Y}_0) \to C \setminus 0$. This is naturally a closed subscheme of the relative Hilbert scheme $\mathrm{Hilb}^{n}(\mathcal{Y} \setminus \mathcal{Y}_0) \to C \setminus 0$. In previous work (joint with Gulbrandsen) we had constructed a compactification $I^n_{\mathcal{Y}/C}$ over $C$ of the latter scheme. The closure $K^{n-1}_{\mathcal{Y}/C}$ of $K^{n-1}_{\circ}$ inside $I^n_{\mathcal{Y}/C}$ yields a canonical way to degenerate the family of generalized Kummer varieties, and is the degeneration we propose. This paper contains a detailed study of the geometry of the scheme $K^{n-1}_{\mathcal{Y}/C}$ and its natural stratification. For $n=2$ we obtain a projective Kulikov model of Kummer surfaces, whereas already for $n=3$ new phenomena occur. We study in detail the dual complex of $K^{2}_{\mathcal{Y}/C}$ and show that this is PL-homeomorphic to the standard $2$-simplex.

Seeing the Context: Rich Visual Context-Aware Speech Recognition via Multimodal Reasoning

Audio-visual speech recognition (AVSR) is an extension of ASR that incorporates visual signals. Current AVSR approaches primarily focus on lip motion, largely overlooking rich context present in the video such as speaking scene and on-screen text. To tackle such CAVSR (AVSR including rich visual Context), we propose VASR designed to "see" and reason the visual context to improve speech recognition. Specifically, we construct an Audio-Visual Chain-of-Thought (AV-CoT) that explicitly enforces intermediate cross-modal grounding between acoustic signals and visual evidence. This evidence-driven reasoning mitigates the "single-modality dominance" problem, where models either over-rely on visual context or fail to utilize it. Besides, to address the data scarcity, we construct and release a corresponding data pipeline and test set. Experiments show that AV-CoT effectively mitigates the single-modality dominance, achieving state-of-the-art performance in CAVSR. The project is open-sourced.

KramaBench: A Benchmark for AI Systems on Data-to-Insight Pipelines over Data Lakes

Discovering insights from a real-world data lake potentially containing unclean, semi-structured, and unstructured data requires a variety of data processing tasks, ranging from extraction and cleaning to integration, analysis, and modeling. This process often also demands domain knowledge and project-specific insight. While AI models have shown remarkable results in reasoning and code generation, their abilities to design and execute complex pipelines that solve these data-lake-to-insight challenges remain unclear. We introduce KramaBench which consists of 104 manually curated and solved challenges spanning 1700 files, 24 data sources, and 6 domains. KramaBench focuses on testing the end-to-end capabilities of AI systems to solve challenges which require automated orchestration of different data tasks. KramaBench also features a comprehensive evaluation framework assessing the pipeline design and individual data task implementation abilities of AI systems. We evaluate 8 LLMs using our single-agent reference framework DS-Guru, alongside both open- and closed-source single- and multi-agent systems, and find that while current agentic systems may handle isolated data-science tasks and generate plausible draft pipelines, they struggle with producing working end-to-end pipelines. On KramaBench, the best system reaches only 55% end-to-end accuracy in the full data-lake setting. Even with perfect retrieval, the accuracy tops out at 62%. Leading LLMs can identify up to 42% of important data tasks but can only fully implement 20% of individual data tasks. Our code, reference framework, and data are available at https://github.com/mitdbg/KramaBench.

Fast Converging 3D Gaussian Splatting for 1-Minute Reconstruction

We present a fast 3DGS reconstruction pipeline designed to converge within one minute, developed for the SIGGRAPH Asia 3DGS Fast Reconstruction Challenge. The challenge consists of an initial round using SLAM-generated camera poses (with noisy trajectories) and a final round using COLMAP poses (highly accurate). To robustly handle these heterogeneous settings, we develop a two-stage solution. In the first round, we use reverse per-Gaussian parallel optimization and compact forward splatting based on Taming-GS and Speedy-splat, load-balanced tiling, an anchor-based Neural-Gaussian representation enabling rapid convergence with fewer learnable parameters, initialization from monocular depth and partially from feed-forward 3DGS models, and a global pose refinement module for noisy SLAM trajectories. In the final round, the accurate COLMAP poses change the optimization landscape; we disable pose refinement, revert from Neural-Gaussians back to standard 3DGS to eliminate MLP inference overhead, introduce multi-view consistency-guided Gaussian splitting inspired by Fast-GS, and introduce a depth estimator to supervise the rendered depth. Together, these techniques enable high-fidelity reconstruction under a strict one-minute budget. Our method achieved the top performance with a PSNR of 28.43 and ranked first in the competition.

VoiceSculptor: Your Voice, Designed By You

Despite rapid progress in text-to-speech (TTS), open-source systems still lack truly instruction-following, fine-grained control over core speech attributes (e.g., pitch, speaking rate, age, emotion, and style). We present VoiceSculptor, an open-source unified system that bridges this gap by integrating instruction-based voice design and high-fidelity voice cloning in a single framework. It generates controllable speaker timbre directly from natural-language descriptions, supports iterative refinement via Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and provides attribute-level edits across multiple dimensions. The designed voice is then rendered into a prompt waveform and fed into a cloning model to enable high-fidelity timbre transfer for downstream speech synthesis. VoiceSculptor achieves open-source state-of-the-art (SOTA) on InstructTTSEval-Zh, and is fully open-sourced, including code and pretrained models, to advance reproducible instruction-controlled TTS research.

Physics-Based Motion Imitation with Adversarial Differential Discriminators

Multi-objective optimization problems, which require the simultaneous optimization of multiple objectives, are prevalent across numerous applications. Existing multi-objective optimization methods often rely on manually-tuned aggregation functions to formulate a joint optimization objective. The performance of such hand-tuned methods is heavily dependent on careful weight selection, a time-consuming and laborious process. These limitations also arise in the setting of reinforcement-learning-based motion tracking methods for physically simulated characters, where intricately crafted reward functions are typically used to achieve high-fidelity results. Such solutions not only require domain expertise and significant manual tuning, but also limit the applicability of the resulting reward function across diverse skills. To bridge this gap, we present a novel adversarial multi-objective optimization technique that is broadly applicable to a range of multi-objective reinforcement-learning tasks, including motion tracking. Our proposed Adversarial Differential Discriminator (ADD) receives a single positive sample, yet is still effective at guiding the optimization process. We demonstrate that our technique can enable characters to closely replicate a variety of acrobatic and agile behaviors, achieving comparable quality to state-of-the-art motion-tracking methods, without relying on manually-designed reward functions. HiStyle: Hierarchical Style Embedding Predictor for Text-Prompt-Guided Controllable Speech Synthesis

Controllable speech synthesis refers to the precise control of speaking style by manipulating specific prosodic and paralinguistic attributes, such as gender, volume, speech rate, pitch, and pitch fluctuation. With the integration of advanced generative models, particularly large language models (LLMs) and diffusion models, controllable text-to-speech (TTS) systems have increasingly transitioned from label-based control to natural language description-based control, which is typically implemented by predicting global style embeddings from textual prompts. However, this straightforward prediction overlooks the underlying distribution of the style embeddings, which may hinder the full potential of controllable TTS systems. In this study, we use t-SNE analysis to visualize and analyze the global style embedding distribution of various mainstream TTS systems, revealing a clear hierarchical clustering pattern: embeddings first cluster by timbre and subsequently subdivide into finer clusters based on style attributes. Based on this observation, we propose HiStyle, a two-stage style embedding predictor that hierarchically predicts style embeddings conditioned on textual prompts, and further incorporate contrastive learning to help align the text and audio embedding spaces. Additionally, we propose a style annotation strategy that leverages the complementary strengths of statistical methodologies and human auditory preferences to generate more accurate and perceptually consistent textual prompts for style control. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that when applied to the base TTS model, HiStyle achieves significantly better style controllability than alternative style embedding predicting approaches while preserving high speech quality in terms of naturalness and intelligibility. WenetSpeech-Chuan: A Large-Scale Sichuanese Corpus with Rich Annotation for Dialectal Speech Processing

The scarcity of large-scale, open-source data for dialects severely hinders progress in speech technology, a challenge particularly acute for the widely spoken Sichuanese dialects of Chinese. To address this critical gap, we introduce WenetSpeech-Chuan, a 10,000-hour, richly annotated corpus constructed using our novel Chuan-Pipeline, a complete data processing framework for dialectal speech. To facilitate rigorous evaluation and demonstrate the corpus's effectiveness, we also release high-quality ASR and TTS benchmarks, WenetSpeech-Chuan-Eval, with manually verified transcriptions. Experiments show that models trained on WenetSpeech-Chuan achieve state-of-the-art performance among open-source systems and demonstrate results comparable to commercial services. As the largest open-source corpus for Sichuanese dialects, WenetSpeech-Chuan not only lowers the barrier to research in dialectal speech processing but also plays a crucial role in promoting AI equity and mitigating bias in speech technologies. The corpus, benchmarks, models, and receipts are publicly available on our project page.

Prepared for the Worst: A Learning-Based Adversarial Attack for Resilience Analysis of the ICP Algorithm

This paper presents a novel method for assessing the resilience of the ICP algorithm via learning-based, worst-case attacks on lidar point clouds. For safety-critical applications such as autonomous navigation, ensuring the resilience of algorithms before deployments is crucial. The ICP algorithm is the standard for lidar-based localization, but its accuracy can be greatly affected by corrupted measurements from various sources, including occlusions, adverse weather, or mechanical sensor issues. Unfortunately, the complex and iterative nature of ICP makes assessing its resilience to corruption challenging. While there have been efforts to create challenging datasets and develop simulations to evaluate the resilience of ICP, our method focuses on finding the maximum possible ICP error that can arise from corrupted measurements at a location. We demonstrate that our perturbation-based adversarial attacks can be used pre-deployment to identify locations on a map where ICP is particularly vulnerable to corruptions in the measurements. With such information, autonomous robots can take safer paths when deployed, to mitigate against their measurements being corrupted. The proposed attack outperforms baselines more than 88% of the time across a wide range of scenarios.

WenetSpeech-Yue: A Large-scale Cantonese Speech Corpus with Multi-dimensional Annotation

The development of speech understanding and generation has been significantly accelerated by the availability of large-scale, high-quality speech datasets. Among these, ASR and TTS are regarded as the most established and fundamental tasks. However, for Cantonese (Yue Chinese), spoken by approximately 84.9 million native speakers worldwide, limited annotated resources have hindered progress and resulted in suboptimal ASR and TTS performance. To address this challenge, we propose WenetSpeech-Pipe, an integrated pipeline for building large-scale speech corpus with multi-dimensional annotation tailored for speech understanding and generation. It comprises six modules: Audio Collection, Speaker Attributes Annotation, Speech Quality Annotation, Automatic Speech Recognition, Text Postprocessing and Recognizer Output Voting, enabling rich and high-quality annotations. Based on this pipeline, we release WenetSpeech-Yue, the first large-scale Cantonese speech corpus with multi-dimensional annotation for ASR and TTS, covering 21,800 hours across 10 domains with annotations including ASR transcription, text confidence, speaker identity, age, gender, speech quality scores, among other annotations. We also release WSYue-eval, a comprehensive Cantonese benchmark with two components: WSYue-ASR-eval, a manually annotated set for evaluating ASR on short and long utterances, code-switching, and diverse acoustic conditions, and WSYue-TTS-eval, with base and coverage subsets for standard and generalization testing. Experimental results show that models trained on WenetSpeech-Yue achieve competitive results against state-of-the-art (SOTA) Cantonese ASR and TTS systems, including commercial and LLM-based models, highlighting the value of our dataset and pipeline.

OSUM-EChat: Enhancing End-to-End Empathetic Spoken Chatbot via Understanding-Driven Spoken Dialogue

Empathy is crucial in enabling natural interactions within spoken dialogue systems, allowing machines to recognize and respond appropriately to paralinguistic cues such as age, gender, and emotion. Recent advancements in end-to-end speech language models, which unify speech understanding and generation, provide promising solutions. However, several challenges persist, including an over-reliance on large-scale dialogue datasets, insufficient extraction of paralinguistic cues vital for conveying empathy, and the lack of empathy-specific datasets and evaluation frameworks. To address these issues, we introduce OSUM-EChat, an open-source, end-to-end spoken dialogue system designed to enhance empathetic interactions, particularly in resource-limited settings. OSUM-EChat introduces two key innovations: (1) a three-stage understanding-driven spoken dialogue training strategy that extends the capabilities of a large speech understanding model to spoken dialogue tasks, and (2) a linguistic-paralinguistic dual thinking mechanism that integrates paralinguistic understanding through a chain of thought with dialogue generation, enabling the system to produce more empathetic responses. This approach reduces reliance on large-scale dialogue datasets while maintaining high-quality empathetic interactions. Additionally, we introduce the EChat-200K dataset, a rich corpus of empathetic speech-to-speech dialogues, and the EChat-eval benchmark, a comprehensive framework for evaluating the empathetic capabilities of dialogue systems. Experimental results demonstrate that OSUM-EChat outperforms end-to-end spoken dialogue models regarding empathetic responsiveness, validating its effectiveness.
