Habitat-GS: A High-Fidelity Navigation Simulator with Dynamic Gaussian Splatting

Training embodied AI agents depends critically on the visual fidelity of simulation environments and the ability to model dynamic humans. Current simulators predominantly rely on mesh-based rasterization, for which photorealistic assets are costly to author at scale, and their support for dynamic human avatars is largely constrained to mesh representations, hindering agent generalization to human-populated real-world scenarios. We present Habitat-GS, a navigation-centric embodied AI simulator extended from Habitat-Sim that integrates 3D Gaussian Splatting scene rendering and drivable gaussian avatars while maintaining full compatibility with the Habitat ecosystem. Our system implements a 3DGS renderer for real-time photorealistic rendering and supports scalable 3DGS asset import from diverse sources. For dynamic human modeling, we introduce a gaussian avatar module that enables each avatar to simultaneously serve as a photorealistic visual entity and an effective navigation obstacle, allowing agents to learn human-aware behaviors in realistic settings. Experiments on point-goal navigation demonstrate that agents trained on 3DGS scenes achieve stronger cross-domain generalization. Evaluations on avatar-aware navigation further confirm that gaussian avatars enable effective human-aware navigation, while performance benchmarks validate the system's scalability. Modeling the Evolutionary Trends in Corporate ESG Reporting: A Study based on Knowledge Management Model

Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reports are globally recognized as a keystone in sustainable enterprise development. However, current literature has not concluded the development of topics and trends in ESG contexts in the twenty-first century. Therefore, We selected 1114 ESG reports from firms in the technology industry to analyze the evolutionary trends of ESG topics by text mining. We discovered the homogenization effect towards low environmental, medium governance, and high social features in the evolution. We also designed a strategic framework to look closer into the dynamic changes of firms' within-industry scores and across-domain importances. We found that companies are gradually converging towards the third quadrant, which indicates that firms contribute less to industrial outstanding and professional distinctiveness in ESG reporting. Firms choose to imitate ESG reports from each other to mitigate uncertainty and enhance behavioral legitimacy.

Contemporary Recommendation Systems on Big Data and Their Applications: A Survey

This survey paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of the evolution and contemporary landscape of recommendation systems, which have been extensively incorporated across a myriad of web applications. It delves into the progression of personalized recommendation methodologies tailored for online products or services, organizing the array of recommendation techniques into four main categories: content-based, collaborative filtering, knowledge-based, and hybrid approaches, each designed to cater to specific contexts. The document provides an in-depth review of both the historical underpinnings and the cutting-edge innovations in the domain of recommendation systems, with a special focus on implementations leveraging big data analytics. The paper also highlights the utilization of prominent datasets such as MovieLens, Amazon Reviews, Netflix Prize, Last.fm, and Yelp in evaluating recommendation algorithms. It further outlines and explores the predominant challenges encountered in the current generation of recommendation systems, including issues related to data sparsity, scalability, and the imperative for diversified recommendation outputs. The survey underscores these challenges as promising directions for subsequent research endeavors within the discipline. Additionally, the paper examines various real-life applications driven by recommendation systems, addressing the hurdles involved in seamlessly integrating these systems into everyday life. Ultimately, the survey underscores how the advancements in recommendation systems, propelled by big data technologies, have the potential to significantly enhance real-world experiences.

Mining the Relationship Between COVID-19 Sentiment and Market Performance

At the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in March, we observed one of the largest stock market crashes in history. Within the months following this, a volatile bullish climb back to pre-pandemic performances and higher. In this paper, we study the stock market behavior during the initial few months of the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to COVID-19 sentiment. Using text sentiment analysis of Twitter data, we look at tweets that contain key words in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and the sentiment of the tweet to understand whether sentiment can be used as an indicator for stock market performance. There has been previous research done on applying natural language processing and text sentiment analysis to understand the stock market performance, given how prevalent the impact of COVID-19 is to the economy, we want to further the application of these techniques to understand the relationship that COVID-19 has with stock market performance. Our findings show that there is a strong relationship to COVID-19 sentiment derived from tweets that could be used to predict stock market performance in the future.
