Weak-type bounds for the Bergman projection with Bekoll\'e-Bonami weights

We establish weighted weak-type bounds for the Bergman projection with respect to Bekoll\'e-Bonami characteristics. We present two proofs of an improved quantitative weak-type $(1,1)$ estimate, as well as sharp weak-type $(p,p)$ bounds for $p>1$ and mixed weighted weak-type $(1,1)$ inequalities. Our results, which hold for a wide class of simple domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$, are new even in the classical settings of the upper half-plane and the unit disk.

Matrix-weighted bounds in variable Lebesgue spaces

In this paper we prove boundedness of Calder\'on-Zygmund operators and the Christ-Goldberg maximal operator in the matrix-weighted variable Lebesgue spaces recently introduced by Cruz-Uribe and the second author. Our main tool to prove these bounds is through bounding a Goldberg auxiliary maximal operator. As an application, we obtain a quantitative extrapolation theorem for matrix-weighted variable Lebesgue spaces from the recent framework of directional Banach function spaces of the first author.

Multilinear matrix weights

In this work we fully characterize the classes of matrix weights for which multilinear Calder\'on-Zygmund operators extend to bounded operators on matrix weighted Lebesgue spaces. To this end, we develop the theory of multilinear singular integrals taking values in tensor products of finite dimensional Hilbert spaces. On the one hand, we establish quantitative bounds in terms of multilinear Muckenhoupt matrix weight characteristics and scalar Fujii-Wilson conditions of a tensor product analogue of the convex body sparse operator, of a convex-set valued tensor product analogue of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator, and of a multilinear analogue of the Christ-Goldberg maximal operator. These bounds recover the sharpest known bounds in the linear case. Moreover, we define a notion of directional nondegeneracy for multilinear Calder\'on-Zygmund operators, which is new even in the scalar case. The noncommutavity of matrix multiplication, the absence of duality, and the natural presence of quasinorms in the multilinear setting present several new difficulties in comparison to previous works in the scalar or in the linear case. To overcome them, we use techniques inspired from convex combinatorics and differential geometry.

Endpoint weak-type bounds beyond Calder\'on-Zygmund theory

We prove weighted weak-type $(r,r)$ estimates for operators satisfying $(r,s)$ limited-range sparse domination of $\ell^q$-type. Our results contain improvements for operators satisfying limited-range and square function sparse domination. In the case of operators $T$ satisfying standard sparse form domination such as Calder\'on-Zygmund operators, we provide a new and simple proof of the sharp bound $$ \|T\|_{L^1_w(\mathbf{R}^d)\rightarrow L^{1,\infty}_w(\mathbf{R}^d)} \lesssim [w]_1(1+\log [w]_{\text{FW}}). $$

A lattice approach to matrix weights

In this paper we recontextualize the theory of matrix weights within the setting of Banach lattices. We define an intrinsic notion of directional Banach function spaces, generalizing matrix weighted Lebesgue spaces. Moreover, we prove an extrapolation theorem for these spaces based on the boundedness of the convex-set valued maximal operator. We also provide bounds and equivalences related to the convex body sparse operator. Furthermore, we introduce a weak-type analogue of directional Banach function spaces. In particular, we show that the weak-type boundedness of the set valued maximal operator on matrix weighted Lebesgue spaces is equivalent to the matrix Muckenhoupt condition, with equivalent constants. Finally, we apply our main results to matrix-weighted variable Lebesgue and Morrey spaces, obtaining new extrapolation results and characterizations extending the known ones of the scalar setting.

Weighted weak-type bounds for multilinear singular integrals

We establish analogs of sharp weighted weak-type bounds for $m$-sublinear operators satisfying sparse form domination, including multilinear Calderón-Zygmund singular integrals. Our results, which hold for general $\vec{p} \in [1,\infty)^m$ and feature quantitative improvements, rely on new local testing conditions and good-$λ$ inequalities. We address weak-type bounds in both the change of measure and multiplier settings.

The Muckenhoupt condition

The goal of this paper is to unify the theory of weights beyond the setting of weighted Lebesgue spaces in the general setting of quasi-Banach function spaces. We prove new characterizations for the boundedness of singular integrals, pose several conjectures, and prove partial results related to the duality of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator. Furthermore, we give an overview of the theory applied to weighted variable Lebesgue, Morrey, and Musielak-Orlicz spaces.

Extrapolation of compactness on Banach function spaces

We prove an extrapolation of compactness theorem for operators on Banach function spaces satisfying certain convexity and concavity conditions. In particular, we show that the boundedness of an operator $T$ in the weighted Lebesgue scale and the compactness of $T$ in the unweighted Lebesgue scale yields compactness of $T$ on a very general class of Banach function spaces. As our main new tool, we prove various characterizations of the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator on such spaces and their associate spaces, using a novel sparse self-improvement technique. We apply our main results to prove compactness of the commutators of singular integral operators and pointwise multiplication by functions of vanishing mean oscillation on, for example, weighted variable Lebesgue spaces.

Banach function spaces done right

In this survey, we discuss the definition of a (quasi-)Banach function space. We advertise the original definition by Zaanen and Luxemburg, which does not have various issues introduced by other, subsequent definitions. Moreover, we prove versions of well-known basic properties of Banach function spaces in the setting of quasi-Banach function spaces.

Extrapolation in general quasi-Banach function spaces

In this paper we prove off-diagonal, limited range, multilinear, vector-valued, and two-weight versions of the Rubio de Francia extrapolation theorem in general quasi-Banach function spaces. We prove mapping properties of the generalization of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator to very general bases that includes a method to obtain self-improvement results that are sharp with respect to its operator norm. Furthermore, we prove bounds for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator in weighted Lorentz, variable Lebesgue, and Morrey spaces, and recover and extend several extrapolation theorems in the literature. Finally, we provide an application of our results to the Riesz potential and the Bilinear Hilbert transform.

Weighted Lorentz spaces: sharp mixed $A_p-A_{\infty}$ estimate for maximal functions

We prove the sharp mixed $A_{p}-A_{\infty}$ weighted estimate for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function in the context of weighted Lorentz spaces, namely \[ \|M\|_{L^{p,q}(w)} \lesssim_{p,q,n} [w]^{\frac1p}_{A_p}[\sigma]^{\frac1{\min(p,q)}}_{A_{\infty}}, \] where $\sigma=w^{\frac{1}{1-p}}$. Our method is rearrangement free and can also be used to bound similar operators, even in the two-weight setting. We use this to also obtain new quantitative bounds for the strong maximal operator and for $M$ in a dual setting.

Vector-valued extensions of operators through multilinear limited range extrapolation

We give an extension of Rubio de Francia's extrapolation theorem for functions taking values in UMD Banach function spaces to the multilinear limited range setting. In particular we show how boundedness of an $m$-(sub)linear operator \[T:L^{p_1}(w_1^{p_1})\times\cdots\times L^{p_m}(w_m^{p_m})\to L^p(w^p) \] for a certain class of Muckenhoupt weights yields an extension of the operator to Bochner spaces $L^{p}(w^p;X)$ for a wide class of Banach function spaces $X$, which includes certain Lebesgue, Lorentz and Orlicz spaces. We apply the extrapolation result to various operators, which yields new vector-valued bounds. Our examples include the bilinear Hilbert transform, certain Fourier multipliers and various operators satisfying sparse domination results.

Sparse domination implies vector-valued sparse domination

We prove that scalar-valued sparse domination of a multilinear operator implies vector-valued sparse domination for tuples of quasi-Banach function spaces, for which we introduce a multilinear analogue of the UMD condition. This condition is characterized by the boundedness of the multisublinear Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and goes beyond examples in which a UMD condition is assumed on each individual space and includes e.g. iterated Lebesgue, Lorentz, and Orlicz spaces. Our method allows us to obtain sharp vector-valued weighted bounds directly from scalar-valued sparse domination, without the use of a Rubio de Francia type extrapolation result. We apply our result to obtain new vector-valued bounds for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators as well as recover the old ones with a new sharp weighted bound. Moreover, in the Banach function space setting we improve upon recent vector-valued bounds for the bilinear Hilbert transform.

Quantitative estimates and extrapolation for multilinear weight classes

In this paper we prove a quantitative multilinear limited range extrapolation theorem which allows us to extrapolate from weighted estimates that include the cases where some of the exponents are infinite. This extends the recent extrapolation result of Li, Martell, and Ombrosi. We also obtain vector-valued estimates including $\ell^\infty$ spaces and, in particular, we are able to reprove all the vector-valued bounds for the bilinear Hilbert transform obtained through the helicoidal method of Benea and Muscalu. Moreover, our result is quantitative and, in particular, allows us to extend quantitative estimates obtained from sparse domination in the Banach space setting to the quasi-Banach space setting. Our proof does not rely on any off-diagonal extrapolation results and we develop a multilinear version of the Rubio de Francia algorithm adapted to the multisublinear Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator. As a corollary, we obtain multilinear extrapolation results for some upper and lower endpoints estimates in weak-type and BMO spaces.

Weak and strong type $A_1$-$A_\infty$ estimates for sparsely dominated operators

We consider operators $T$ satisfying a sparse domination property \[ |\langle Tf,g\rangle|\leq c\sum_{Q\in\mathscr{S}}\langle f\rangle_{p_0,Q}\langle g\rangle_{q_0',Q}|Q| \] with averaging exponents $1\leq p_0<q_0\leq\infty$. We prove weighted strong type boundedness for $p_0<p<q_0$ and use new techniques to prove weighted weak type $(p_0,p_0)$ boundedness with quantitative mixed $A_1$-$A_\infty$ estimates, generalizing results of Lerner, Ombrosi, and P\'erez and Hyt\"onen and P\'erez. Even in the case $p_0=1$ we improve upon their results as we do not make use of a H\"ormander condition of the operator $T$. Moreover, we also establish a dual weak type $(q_0',q_0')$ estimate. In a last part, we give a result on the optimality of the weighted strong type bounds including those previously obtained by Bernicot, Frey, and Petermichl.
