Cylinder partition function of the 6-vertex model from algebraic geometry

We compute the exact partition function of the isotropic 6-vertex model on a cylinder geometry with free boundary conditions, for lattices of intermediate size, using Bethe ansatz and algebraic geometry. We perform the computations in both the open and closed channels. We also consider the partial thermodynamic limits, whereby in the open (closed) channel, the open (closed) direction is kept small while the other direction becomes large. We compute the zeros of the partition function in the two partial thermodynamic limits, and compare with the condensation curves.

Boundary states, overlaps, nesting and bootstrapping AdS/dCFT

Integrable boundary states can be built up from pair annihilation amplitudes called $K$-matrices. These amplitudes are related to mirror reflections and they both satisfy Yang Baxter equations, which can be twisted or untwisted. We relate these two notions to each other and show how they are fixed by the unbroken symmetries, which, together with the full symmetry, must form symmetric pairs. We show that the twisted nature of the $K$-matrix implies specific selection rules for the overlaps. If the Bethe roots of the same type are paired the overlap is called chiral, otherwise it is achiral and they correspond to untwisted and twisted $K$-matrices, respectively. We use these findings to develop a nesting procedure for $K$-matrices, which provides the factorizing overlaps for higher rank algebras automatically. We apply these methods for the calculation of the simplest asymptotic all-loop 1-point functions in AdS/dCFT. In doing so we classify the solutions of the YBE for the $K$-matrices with centrally extended $\mathfrak{su}(2|2)_{c}$ symmetry and calculate the generic overlaps in terms of Bethe roots and ratio of Gaudin determinants.

Exact finite volume expectation values of conserved currents

The vacuum expectation values of conserved currents play an essential role in the generalized hydrodynamics of integrable quantum field theories. We use analytic continuation to extend these results for the excited state expectation values in a finite volume. Our formulas are valid for diagonally scattering theories and incorporate all finite size corrections.

Classical limit of diagonal form factors and HHL correlators

We propose an expression for the classical limit of diagonal form factors in which we integrate the corresponding observable over the moduli space of classical solutions. In infinite volume the integral has to be regularized by proper subtractions and we present the one, which corresponds to the classical limit of the connected diagonal form factors. In finite volume the integral is finite and can be expressed in terms of the classical infinite volume diagonal form factors and subvolumes of the moduli space. We analyze carefully the periodicity properties of the finite volume moduli space and found a classical analogue of the Bethe-Yang equations. By applying the results to the heavy-heavy-light three point functions we can express their strong coupling limit in terms of the classical limit of the sine-Gordon diagonal form factors.

Leading exponential finite size corrections for non-diagonal form factors

We derive the leading exponential finite volume corrections in two dimensional integrable models for non-diagonal form factors in diagonally scattering theories. These formulas are expressed in terms of the infinite volume form factors and scattering matrices. If the particles are bound states then the leading exponential finite-size corrections ($μ$-terms) are related to virtual processes in which the particles disintegrate into their constituents. For non-bound state particles the leading exponential finite-size corrections (F-terms) come from virtual particles traveling around the finite world. In these F-terms a specifically regulated infinite volume form factor is integrated for the momenta of the virtual particles. The F-term is also present for bound states and the $μ$-term can be obtained by taking an appropriate residue of the F-term integral. We check our results numerically in the Lee-Yang and sinh-Gordon models based on newly developed Hamiltonian truncations.

Diagonal finite volume matrix elements in the sinh-Gordon model

Using the fermionic basis we conjecture exact expressions for diagonal finite volume matrix elements of exponential operators and their descendants in the sinh-Gordon theory. Our expressions sum up the LeClair-Mussardo type infinite series generalized by Pozsgay for excited state expectation values. We checked our formulae against the Liouville three-point functions for small, while against Pozsgay's expansion for large volumes and found complete agreement.

Diagonal form factors from non-diagonal ones

We prove the asymptotic large volume expression of diagonal form factors in integrable models by evaluating carefully the diagonal limit of a non-diagonal form factor in which we send the rapidity of the extra particle to infinity.

On integrable boundaries in the 2 dimensional $O(N)$ $σ$-models

We make an attempt to map the integrable boundary conditions for 2 dimensional non-linear O(N) $σ$-models. We do it at various levels: classically, by demanding the existence of infinitely many conserved local charges and also by constructing the double row transfer matrix from the Lax connection, which leads to the spectral curve formulation of the problem; at the quantum level, we describe the solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation and derive the Bethe-Yang equations. We then show how to connect the thermodynamic limit of the boundary Bethe-Yang equations to the spectral curve.

From the octagon to the SFT vertex - gluing and multiple wrapping

We compare various ways of decomposing and decompactifying the string field theory vertex and analyze the relations between them. We formulate axioms for the octagon and show how it can be glued to reproduce the decompactified pp-wave SFT vertex which in turn can be glued to recover the exact finite volume pp-wave Neumann coefficients. The gluing is performed by resumming multiple wrapping corrections. We observe important nontrivial contributions at the multiple wrapping level which are crucial for obtaining the exact results.

On the mass-coupling relation of multi-scale quantum integrable models

We determine exactly the mass-coupling relation for the simplest multi-scale quantum integrable model, the homogenous sine-Gordon model with two independent mass-scales. We first reformulate its perturbed coset CFT description in terms of the perturbation of a projected product of minimal models. This representation enables us to identify conserved tensor currents on the UV side. These UV operators are then mapped via form factor perturbation theory to operators on the IR side, which are characterized by their form factors. The relation between the UV and IR operators is given in terms of the sought-for mass-coupling relation. By generalizing the $Θ$ sum rule Ward identity we are able to derive differential equations for the mass-coupling relation, which we solve in terms of hypergeometric functions. We check these results against the data obtained by numerically solving the thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations, and find a complete agreement.

On form factors of boundary changing operators

We develop a form factor bootstrap program to determine the matrix elements of local, boundary condition changing operators. We propose axioms for these form factors and determine their solutions in the free boson and Lee-Yang models. The sudden change in the boundary condition, caused by an operator insertion, can be interpreted as a local quench and the form factors provide the overlap of any state before the quench with any outgoing state after the quench.

Wrapping corrections for non-diagonal boundaries in AdS/CFT

We consider an open string stretched between a Y=0 brane and a Y_theta=0 brane. The latter brane is rotated with respect to the former by an angle theta, and is described by a non-diagonal boundary S-matrix. This system interpolates smoothly between the Y-Y (theta =0) and the Y-bar Y (theta = pi/2) systems, which are described by diagonal boundary S-matrices. We use integrability to compute the energies of one-particle states at weak coupling up to leading wrapping order (4, 6 loops) as a function of the angle. The results for the diagonal cases exactly match with those obtained previously.

The kinematical AdS5xS5 Neumann coefficient

For the case of two particles a solution of the string field theory vertex axioms can be factorized into a standard form factor and a kinematical piece which includes the dependence on the size of the third string. In this paper we construct an exact solution of the kinematical axioms for AdS5xS5 which includes all order wrapping corrections w.r.t. the size of the third string. This solution is expressed in terms of elliptic Gamma functions and ordinary elliptic functions. The solution is valid at any coupling and we analyze its weak coupling, pp-wave and large L limit.

String field theory vertex from integrability

We propose a framework for computing the (light cone) string field theory vertex in the case when the string worldsheet QFT is a generic integrable theory. The prime example and ultimate goal would be the $AdS_5 \times S^5$ superstring theory cubic string vertex and the chief application will be to use this framework as a formulation for ${ \cal N}=4$ SYM theory OPE coefficients valid at any coupling up to wrapping corrections. In this paper we propose integrability axioms for the vertex, illustrate them on the example of the pp-wave string field theory and also uncover similar structures in weak coupling computations of OPE coefficients.

Finite-Volume Spectra of the Lee-Yang Model

We consider the non-unitary Lee-Yang minimal model ${\cal M}(2,5)$ in three different finite geometries: (i) on the interval with integrable boundary conditions labelled by the Kac labels $(r,s)=(1,1),(1,2)$, (ii) on the circle with periodic boundary conditions and (iii) on the periodic circle including an integrable purely transmitting defect. We apply $φ_{1,3}$ integrable perturbations on the boundary and on the defect and describe the flow of the spectrum. Adding a $Φ_{1,3}$ integrable perturbation to move off-criticality in the bulk, we determine the finite size spectrum of the massive scattering theory in the three geometries via Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA) equations. We derive these integral equations for all excitations by solving, in the continuum scaling limit, the TBA functional equations satisfied by the transfer matrices of the associated $A_{4}$ RSOS lattice model of Forrester and Baxter in Regime III. The excitations are classified in terms of $(m,n)$ systems. The excited state TBA equations agree with the previously conjectured equations in the boundary and periodic cases. In the defect case, new TBA equations confirm previously conjectured transmission factors.

Defect scaling Lee-Yang model from the perturbed DCFT point of view

We analyze the defect scaling Lee-Yang model from the perturbed defect conformal field theory (DCFT) point of view. First the defect Lee-Yang model is solved by calculating its structure constants from the sewing relations. Integrable defect perturbations are identified in conformal defect perturbation theory. Then pure defect flows connecting integrable conformal defects are described. We develop a defect truncated conformal space approach (DTCSA) to analyze the one parameter family of integrable massive perturbations in finite volume numerically. Fusing the integrable defect to an integrable boundary the relation between the IR and UV parameters can be derived from the boundary relations. We checked these results by comparing the spectrum for large volumes to the scattering theory.

HHL correlators, orbit averaging and form factors

We argue that the conventional method to calculate the OPE coefficients in the strong coupling limit for heavy-heavy-light operators in the N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory has to be modified by integrating the light vertex operator not only over a single string worldsheet but also over the moduli space of classical solutions corresponding to the heavy states. This reflects the fact that we are primarily interested in energy eigenstates and not coherent states. We tested our prescription for the BMN vacuum correlator, for folded strings on $S^5$ and for two-particle states. Our prescription for two-particle states with the dilaton leads to a volume dependence which matches exactly to the structure of finite volume diagonal formfactors. As the volume depence does not rely on the particular light operator we conjecture that symmetric OPE coefficients can be described for any coupling by finite volume diagonal form factors.

The spectrum of tachyons in AdS/CFT

We analyze the spectrum of open strings stretched between a D-brane and an anti-D-brane in planar AdS/CFT using various tools. We focus on open strings ending on two giant gravitons with different orientation in $AdS_5 \times S^5$ and study the spectrum of string excitations using the following approaches: open spin-chain, boundary asymptotic Bethe ansatz and boundary thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (BTBA). We find agreement between a perturbative high order diagrammatic calculation in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM and the leading finite-size boundary Luscher correction. We study the ground state energy of the system at finite coupling by deriving and numerically solving a set of BTBA equations. While the numerics give reasonable results at small coupling, they break down at finite coupling when the total energy of the string gets close to zero, possibly indicating that the state turns tachyonic. The location of the breakdown is also predicted analytically.
