Per-Entity Bias Mapping for AI Visibility: Why Brand Mentions Require Entity-Specific Calibration

AI-mediated answer systems increasingly determine how brands and organizations are represented to users. Existing approaches reduce visibility to mention rate or citation frequency. This paper argues that aggregate metrics are insufficient because entities exhibit systematically different AI visibility error profiles. We introduce Per-Entity Bias Mapping (PEBM): a ten-dimensional framework distinguishing raw from verified mentions. Three failure modes are identified: (1) underrepresented entities suffer invisibility due to weak knowledge graph presence; (2) large entities suffer the Brand Hallucination Paradox -- model familiarity creates stronger surfaces for plausible but incorrect completions; (3) CEE entities face a structural infrastructure gap across knowledge graphs, NER, and entity linking. A fourth dimension, Parametric-Retrieval Lag Asymmetry, describes divergence between retrieval-augmented and parametric memory update cycles. A full-scale empirical study (n=100 Hungarian B2B entities, 1,400 probe runs, 2,062 sources) finds Tier 1 brands produce 52.69% fabricated citations versus 37.87% for Tier 3 entities (+14.82 pp; p=1.67e-11), supporting the Brand Hallucination Paradox. Regulatory-framed queries elevate fabrication to 56.77% versus 37.59% baseline (+19.2 pp). We identify rejection-induced confabulation escalation: agentic quality filters function as hallucination accelerators in compliance contexts. We introduce ghost cartography as a unifying mechanism: entities in sparse latent regions produce confident output interpolated from neighboring dense regions, yielding a two-dimensional confabulation space (fabricated presence vs. frozen representation).

The role of the underlying event in the $Λ_c^{+}$ enhancement in high-energy pp collisions

We study the enhanced production of charmed baryons relative to charmed mesons in proton--proton collisions at LHC energies. Utilizing PYTHIA 8 simulations with enhanced color-reconnection we propose methods based on the comparative use of several event-activity classifiers to identify the source of the charmed-baryon enhancement. We also conclude that in the scenario under investigation the excess $Λ_c^{+}$ production is primarily linked to the underlying event activity and not to the production of jets.

Multi-State Pair-Density Functional Theory

Multiconfiguration pair-density functional theory (MC-PFDT) has previously been applied successfully to carry out ground-state and excited-state calculations. However, because it includes no interaction between electronic states, MC-PDFT calculations can give an unphysical double crossing of potential energy surfaces (PESs) in a region near a conical intersection. We have recently proposed state-interaction pair-density functional theory (SI-PDFT) to treat nearly degenerate states; although this method is successful, it is inconvenient because two SCF calculations and two sets of orbitals are required and because it puts the ground state on an unequal footing with the excited states. Here we propose two new methods, called extended-multi-state-PDFT (XMS-PDFT) and variational-multi-state-PDFT (VMS-PDFT), that generate the intermediate states in a balanced way with a single set of orbitals. The former uses the intermediate states proposed by Granovsky for extended multiconfiguration quasidegenerate perturbation theory (XMC-QDPT); the latter obtains the intermediate states by maximizing the sum of the MC-PDFT energies for the intermediate states. We also propose a Fourier series expansion to make the variational optimizations of the VMS-PDFT method convenient, and we implement this method (FMS-PDFT) both for conventional configuration-interaction solvers and for density-matrix-renormalization-group solvers. The new methods are tested for eight systems exhibiting avoided crossings among two to six states. The FMS-PDFT method is successful for all eight test cases studied in the paper, and XMS-PDFT is successful for all of them except the mixed-valence case. Since both XMS-PDFT and VMS-PDFT are less expensive than XMS-CASPT2, they will allow well-correlated calculations on much larger systems for which perturbation theory is unaffordable.

Non-abelian lattice gauge theory with a topological action

SU(2) gauge theory is investigated with a lattice action which is insensitive to small perturbations of the lattice gauge fields. Bare perturbation theory can not be defined for such actions at all. We compare non-perturbative continuum results with that obtained by the usual Wilson plaquette action. The compared observables span a wide range of interesting phenomena: zero temperature large volume behavior (topological susceptibility), finite temperature phase transition (critical exponents and critical temperature) and also the small volume regime (discrete beta-function or step-scaling function). In the continuum limit perfect agreement is found indicating that universality holds for these topological lattice actions as well.
