Top-Quark Mass Data and the Sum of Quasi-Degenerate Neutrino Masses (One small electroweak-bound e-parameter organizes elementary particle 3-flavor phenomenology)

The absolute neutrino masses and type of neutrino mass hierarchy are among the main problems in neutrino physics. Top-quark mass is another topical problem in particle physics. These problems extend the old puzzle of electron-muon mass ratio close to the fine structure constant, which is still not solved by known theory. Here I continue the search for a general flavor pattern that may incorporate these problems. Relations between neutrino/electron and electron/top-quark pole mass ratios are obtained from supposition that realistic elementary particle dimensionless bare flavor quantities are small deviated (measured by universal parameter e) from the values of a stated flavor pattern (at e=0) and experimental data hints. With the world average t-quark mass data the sum of QD-neutrino masses is estimated (0.50 +- 0.003)eV in agreement with cosmological constraints and known QD-neutrino mass estimations from experimental data on neutrino oscillation mass-squared differences.

Powerful evidences for supporting the claim that gamma-ray burst redshifts are gravity-generated

At present, it is widely believed that the phenomenon of the gamma-ray burst redshift is cosmological origin. From a theoretical point of view, this redshift has either a cosmological or a cause that is related to gravity. However, the question of whether the gamma-ray burst redshift has a cosmological origin or not should be answerable in no uncertain terms because both the spectrum characteristics and the count distribution law arising from the two distinct settings are completely different. If the redshift of GRB is generated by gravity, then the afterglow spectrum will certainly contain both the gravitational redshits (containing emission and absorption feature) and Doppler absorption redshift, and hold a definite relation between the two redshifts. In this paper, we present nine direct and decisive evidences to show that the gamma-ray burst redshift is indeed generated by gravity of neutron stars in their merging process; in which, 114 GRBs' redshifts showed that the statistical count distribution law for the two kinds redshift is the same (with errors less than 1.5%), and 74 spectral line redshifts of two GRBs showed that the relation between the two kinds redshift is completely correct (with errors less than 0.0061%).

A sign error in the Minkowski space-time plot and its consequences

A sign error in an angle while drawing the original Minkowski plot has persisted for a century in text books and the pedagogical literature. When it is corrected, the `length contraction' effect derived from the geometry of the plot disappears. It is also shown how the `relativity of simultaneity' effect that has been derived from the plot results from a lack of correspondence between certain geometrical projections on the plot and the properties of the physical system --two spatially separated and synchronised clocks in a common inertial frame-- that they are purported to describe.

Observation of magnetic field lines in the vicinity of a superconductor with the naked eye

Meissner effect and pinning effect are clearly observed with the naked eye. A GdBaCuO high-temperature superconductor (HTS) disk fabricated by Nippon Steel Corporation, a 100mm cubic NdFeB sintered magnet, and iron wires coated by colored are used. When the HTS is put in the magnetic field of the magnet, it can be observed by the wires that the magnetic field lines are excluded from the superconductor (Meissner effect) as well as are pinned in the superconductor (pinning effect).

Neutrino Counter Nuclear Weapon

Radiations produced by neutrino-antineutrino annihilation at the Z0 pole can be used to heat up the primary stage of a thermonuclear warhead and can in principle detonate the device remotely. Neutrino-antineutrino annihilation can also be used as a tactical assault weapon to target hideouts that are unreachable by conventional means.

Photonic Dipole Contours of Ferrofluid Hele-Shaw Cell

This investigation describes and demonstrates a novel technique for the visualization of magnetic fields. Two ferrofluid Hele-Shaw cells have been constructed to facilitate the imaging of magnetic field lines. We deduce that magnetically induced photonic band gap arrays similar to electrostatic liquid crystal operation are responsible for the photographed images and seek to mathematically prove the images are of dipole nature. A simple way of explaining this work is to think of the old magnetic iron filling experiments; but now each iron filling is a molecule floating in a liquid. Each molecule has the freedom to act as an independent lens that can be aligned by an external magnetic field. Because each lens directs light, the external field can be analyzed by following the light paths captured in the photographs.

Ionic Kratzer bond theory and vibrational levels for achiral covalent bond HH

A dihydrogen Hamiltonian reduces to the Sommerfeld-Kratzer-potential, adapted for field quantization according to old-quantum theory. Constants omega_e, k_e and r_e needed for the H_2 vibrational system derive solely from hydrogen mass m_H. For H_2, a first principles ionic Kratzer oscillator returns the covalent bond energy within 0,08 % and all levels within 0,02 %, 30 times better than the Dunham oscillator and as accurate as early ab initio QM.

An astrophysical peek into Einstein's static universe

We derive here the metric for Einstein's static universe (ESU) directly from Einstein equation, i.e., by considering both $G_{ik}$ and $T_{ik}$. We find that in order that the fluid pressure and acceleration are {\em uniform} and finite despite the presence of a coordinate singularity, the effective density $ρ_e = ρ+ Λ/8 π=0$, where $Λ$ is the cosmological constant. Under weak energy condition, this would imply $ρ= Λ=0$ for ESU. This means that if one would need to invoke a source of ``repulsive gravity'' in some model, (i) the model must be non-static, (ii) the repulsive gravity must be due to a ``quintessence'' or a ``dark energy'' fluid with negative pressure and appear on the right hand side (RHS) of the Einstein equation through $T_{ij}$ rather than through a fundamental constant residing on the LHS of the same equation, and (iii) energy density of both normal matter and the ``dark energy fluid'' should be time dependent. In fact, the repulsive gravity would be due to a time independent $Λ$, it would be extremely difficult to understand why the associated energy density should be approximately $10^{120}$ times lower than the value predicted by quantum gravity. On the other hand, for a dark energy fluid whose energy density is time dependent, it would be much easier to understand such an extremely low present energy density: the original initial value of the energy density of the fluid could be equal to the quantum gravity value while the present low value is due to decay with time.

Implications of Einstein-Weyl Causality on Quantum Mechanics

A fundamental physical principle that has consequences for the topology of space-time is the principle of Einstein-Weyl causality. We show here that this may have implications on quantum mechanics, as well. Borchers and Sen have rigorously investigated the mathematical implications of Einstein-Weyl causality and shown the denumerable space-time Q^2 would be implied. They then imbedded this space in a non-denumerable space but were left with important philosophical paradoxes regarding the nature of the physical real line E, e.g., whether E = R, the real line of mathematics. Alternatively, their initial result could suggest a constructible foundation. We have pursued such a program and find it indeed provides a dense, denumerable space-time and, moreover, an interesting connection with quantum mechanics.

Does the Higgs Mechanism Exist?

This paper explores the argument structure of the concept of spontaneous symmetry breaking in the electroweak gauge theory of the Standard Model: the so-called Higgs mechanism. As commonly understood, the Higgs argument is designed to introduce the masses of the gauge bosons by a spontaneous breaking of the gauge symmetry of an additional field, the Higgs field. The technical derivation of the Higgs mechanism, however, consists in a mere re-shuffling of degrees of freedom by transforming the Higgs Lagrangian in a gauge-invariant manner. This already raises serious doubts about the adequacy of the entire manoeuvre. It will be shown that no straightforward ontic interpretation of the Higgs mechanism is tenable since gauge transformations possess no real instantiations. In addition, the explanatory value of the Higgs argument will be critically examined.

Forces in electromagnetic field and gravitational field

The force can be defined from the linear momentum in the gravitational field and electromagnetic field. But this definition can not cover the gradient of energy. In the paper, the force will be defined from the energy and torque in a new way, which involves the gravitational force, electromagnetic force, inertial force, gradient of energy, and some other new force terms etc. One of these new force terms can be used to explain why the solar wind varies velocity along the magnetic force line in the interplanetary space between the sun and the earth.

Quantum Democracy Is Possible

It is shown that, since an ultrafilter over an operator-algebraically finite (i.e. isomorphic to the lattice of projectors of a finite Von Neumann algebra) quantum logic is not necessarily principal, Arrow's Impossibility Theorem doesn't extend to the quantum case.

The physics of space and time III: Classification of space-time experiments and the twin paradox

A nomenclature for inertial frames and a notation for space and time coordinates is proposed to give an unambigous description of space-time experiments in special relativity. Of particular importance are the concepts of `base' and `travelling' frames and `primary' and `reciprocal' experiments. A detailed discussion of the twin paradox is presented. The physical basis of the differential aging effect is found to be a relativistic relative-velocity transformation relation, not, as hitherto supposed, the spurious `length contraction' effect.

The Question of Relaxation in the Wealth Exchange Models

We look at the meaning of 'relaxation' in the wealth exchange models that are recently proposed in Econophysics to interpret the wealth distributions. To quantify and characterise the process of relaxation, we define an appropriate quantity and evaluate that numerically for the systems of many agents. Also, the numerical results have been supported heuristically by constructing a simple differential equation.

Wavy-roughness effect to thermal explosion of materials with power-law thermal absorptivity in microannuli

We obtain the approximate solutions for the steady temperature profiles of materials with a temperature-dependent thermal absorptivity inside a microannulus with wavy-rough surfaces considering a quasilinear partial differential equation by the boundary perturbation approach. We found the critical Frank-Kamanestkii parameter will depend on the small amplitude wavy-roughness.

The modification of Einstein`s gravitational field equation following from the energy conservation law

The cause of an infringement in GR of a gravitational field energy conservation law is investigated . The equation of a gravitational field not contradicting to the energy conservation law is suggested. This equation satisfy to the Einstein,s requirement of equivalence of all energy kinds as sources of a gravitational field. This equation is solved in paper for cosmic objects. It is showed, that results for some objects - for black holes and gravitating strings-essentialy differ from such for Einstein,s equation, have the symple meaning and do not contradictions.
