It is argued that the existence of a minimum size of spacetime may imply the fundamental existence of gravity as a geometric property of spacetime described by general relativity.
It is shown that it follows from our model of the electron that its magnetic moment has an anomalous part if the magnetic field energy is taken into account. That means that the magnetic moment of our model of the electron is 1.0000565 times larger than the measured magnetic moment of the electron.
We calculate the photonic frequency-dependent absorption cross section and intensity of the Hawking radiation for a stationary non-rotating black hole using the electrodynamic membrane paradigm and Kirchhoff's law. A remarkable conclusion is that the use of geometrical optics limit for absorption cross-section and Kirchhoff's law for the photonic luminosity of black hole provides a very good estimation for its total emission power
In the present paper a new concept is introduced that: `mass is a complex quantity'. The concept of complex-mass suggests that the total mass M of a moving body is complex sum of: (i) the real-part (grain or rest) mass $m_{g}$ establishing its particle behaviour and (ii) the imaginary-part mass $m_{p}$ governing its wave properties. Mathematically, the complex mass $M = m_{g} + im_{p}$; the magnitude $\mid M \mid = (m_{g}^{2} + m_{p}^{2})^{1/2}. The theory proposed here explains successfully several effects such as `Compton effect' and `refraction of light' which could not be explained otherwise by a single theory of wave or particle. Also explained are `Doppler effect for light', `photo-electric effect', `Uncertainty principle', `Relativity' and `supersymmetry'
It is shown, that a free motion of microparticles (elementary particles) in the gravitational field is multivariant (stochastic). This multivariance is conditioned by multivariant physical space-time geometry. The physical geometry is described completely by a world function. The Riemannian geometries form a small part of possible physical geometries. The contemporary theory of gravitation ignores existence of physical geometries. It supposes, that any space-time geometry is a Riemannian geometry. It is a mistake. As a result the contemporary theory of gravitation needs a revision. Besides, the Riemannian geometry is inconsistent, and conclusions of the gravitational theory, based on inconsistent geometry may be invalid. Free motion of macroparticles (planets), consisting of many connected microparticles, is deterministic, because connection of microparticles inside the macroparticle averages stochastic motion of single macroparticles.
Although the methods and techniques have been greatly improved since the late nineteenth century, the precision on the measurement of the gravitational constant G does not exceed 1 part in 1000. Intrinsic variations of G caused by the geomagnetic field may explain the observed dispersion of the laboratory measurements. This involves a coupling between gravitation and electromagnetism (hereafter GE coupling) and a dependance of the effective G constant with latitude and longitude. In this paper I analyse the effects of this coupling in the framework of classical space mechanics by focusing on heliosynchronous orbits. The predictions are found inconsistent with experimental data from the SPOT mission.
Recent studies have thrown up a big enigma. On the one hand they point to satellite galaxies rotating faster than they should with the usual theory. On the other hand they also go against explanation of Newtonian gravity with dark matter. In this brief note it is argued that the varying $G$ cosmology which explains all the observed General Relativistic effects and the Pioneer anomaly reconciles the controversial conclusions of the latest observations.
Representative members of the subatomic particle mass spectrum in the 100 MeV to 7,000 MeV range are retrodicted to a first approximation using the Kerr solution of General Relativity. The particle masses appear to form a restricted set of quantized values of a Kerr-based angular momentum-mass relation: m = (sqrt n)(M), where values of n are a set of discrete integers and M is a revised Planck mass. A fractal paradigm manifesting global discrete self-similarity is critical to a proper determination of M, which differs from the conventional Planck mass by roughly 19 orders of magnitude. This exceedingly simple and generic mass equation retrodicts the masses of a representative set of 27 well-known particles with an average relative error of 1.6%. A more rigorous mass formula, which includes the total spin angular momentum rule of Quantum Mechanics, the canonical spin values of the particles, and the dimensionless rotational parameter of the Kerr angular momentum-mass relation, is able to retrodict the masses of the 8 dominant baryons in the 900 MeV to 1700 MeV range at the 99.7% level, on average.
A new category of "intrinsic" effects is proposed to be added to the two already known kinematic and dynamical categories. An example of intrinsic effect is predicted, its origin source is established, and a scheme of its experimental detection is proposed. This effect lowers to non-relativistic values the propagation velocity of a plane electromagnetic wave in a vacuum, when a time-independent homogeneous magnetic field is superposed over it. This result, pertaining to the classical Maxwell theory, follows from exact calculations. A critical remark on gravitational waves' detection is given.
A simple mechanical problem is considered which we believe will help students to familiarize some concepts of mechanics of variable mass systems. Meanwhile they can even learn some thrilling physics of bungee jumping.
At passage of 21-cm pulsar radiation through clouds of neutral hydrogen atoms the signal in the region of anomalous dispersion is appearing as faster-than-c. As unlike laboratory researches separate scatterers are located on big distances from each other, this effect can be attributed only to the consecutive independent scattering on isolated atoms. For its explanation we must accept that photons are emitted and absorbed on the distances \lamda/2, in a near field, instantaneously. Such peculiarity of near field has been established earlier within the frame of QED and explains, quantitatively and qualitatively, different "superluminal" observations. It shows that processes of absorption and reemission of photons do not submit to requirements of special relativity describing only uniform movements, and consequently possibilities of faster-than-c phenomena in the near field are not excluded.
A new unifying theory was recently proposed by the author in the publication "Arrangement field theory - beyond strings and loop gravity -". Such theory describes all fields (gravitational, gauge and matter fields) as entries in a matricial superfield which transforms in the adjoint representation of Sp(12,C). In this paper we show how this superfield is built and we introduce a new mechanism of symmetry breaking which doesn't need Higgs bosons.
A spin (dependent) system treatment of gravity is adopted akin to the Sen-Ashtekar treatment. Time is reinserted into the space ``fluid'' at the quantum Level. This time - the Lorentzian one- is shown to be a vorticity of a ``fluid particle'' of the space and the effect is integrated over all the fluid particles to incorporate time in quantum gravity. This spacetime is viewed as a fluid of future light cones called the SU(2) dipoles of causality here in the paper. The future light cone structure is soldered internally to the new variables derived in this paper to accomodate a background free physics of quantum strings. The emergence of spacetime is shown to be a first order phase transition and that of separation of gravity from the unified field to be a second order phase transition. For the former case the cosmic time is chosen as the order parameter and for the latter case the angular momentum is chosen as the order parameter. A quantum blackhole thus nucleates at transition temperature which is the Planck temperature, $τ_{pl}$. Then the SU(2) dipoles enable interpretation of this black hole as a gravity gauge SL(2,$\mathbb{C}$) dual of the U(1) gauge ferromagnetic phase. The usual QFT interpretation of this effect is the existence of locally Lorentzian spacetimes.
In an attempt to merge the microscopic with the macroscopic worlds, we present a brief study about a force which depends on the Planck force and on the coupling constant that in turn depends on the size of a particle in a particular direction (space dimension). We then apply this force to black body radiations from which we deduce Hawking Radiations, Stefan radiation law and the level at which the profound theories of physics are consistent. In conclusion, it true that the world exists in both macro and microscopic situations, in away that, the higher the value of the space dimension the smaller the size of the particles we are studying and the smaller the value of the space dimension the larger the size of the particle.
In this paper, realistic CPT-symmetric united at substance quark and neutrino mixing matrices are studied by the idea that they are shifted from respectively unit and bimaximal benchmark matrices by one new small universal empirical e-parameter. At leading finite e-approximation quark-lepton complementarity (QLC) is an exact regularity. Equal solar and atmospheric deviations from exact QLC constitute one of the main inferences at next to leading approximation. That universal violation of exact QLC advances the status of the QLC idea; and the more so, as that deviation from QLC is quantitatively estimated and used for accurate calculations of lepton mixing angles. Quark and neutrino Dirac CP-violating phases are determined by the considered quadratic hierarchy paradigm in flavor phenomenology. Inferences are partly supported by quark heavy flavor unitarity triangle angles and testable at B-factory and LHC b experiments. Estimated magnitude of the unitarity triangle gamma-angle concurs with the quark CP-violating phase to within ~5x10-4. The final quark CKM mixing matrix in terms of the e-parameter is in excellent quantitative agreement with world data and suggests a fitting form of neutrino PMNS mixing matrix. The e-constant implications in flavor phenomenology are considered.
We derive a version of the virial theorem that is applicable to diatomic planetary atmospheres that are in approximate thermal equilibrium at moderate temperatures and pressures and are sufficiently thin such that the gravitational acceleration can be considered constant. We contrast a pedagogically inclined theoretical presentation with the actual measured properties of air.
In the non viscous fluid dynamics, Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), as a free Lagrangian "shock capturing" method adopts either an artificial viscosity contribution or an appropriate Riemann solver technique. An explicit or an implicit dissipation, introduced in such techniques, is necessary to solve the Euler equations to solve flow discontinuities (the Riemann problem). Dissipation is useful to smooth out spurious heating and to treat transport phenomena. A simple, effective solution of the Riemann problem is here proposed, based on an empirical reformulation of the equation of state (EoS) in the Euler equations in fluid dynamics, whose limit for a motionless gas coincides with the classic EoS of ideal gases. Results on 1D shock tube tests are here shown, as well as a 3D transport application on accretion discs in close binaries (CBs).
