Relativistic Calogero-Sutherland Model: Spin Generalization, Quantum Affine Symmetry and Dynamical Correlation Functions

Spin generalization of the relativistic Calogero-Sutherland model is constructed by using the affine Hecke algebra and shown to possess the quantum affine symmetry $\uqglt$. The spin-less model is exactly diagonalized by means of the Macdonald symmetric polynomials. The dynamical density-density correlation function as well as one-particle Green function are evaluated exactly. We also investigate the finite-size scaling of the model and show that the low-energy behavior is described by the $C=1$ Gaussian theory. The results indicate that the excitations obey the fractional exclusion statistics and exhibit the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid behavior as well.

On Quantum Lie Algebras and Quantum Root Systems

As a natural generalization of ordinary Lie algebras we introduce the concept of quantum Lie algebras ${\cal L}_q(g)$. We define these in terms of certain adjoint submodules of quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(g)$ endowed with a quantum Lie bracket given by the quantum adjoint action. The structure constants of these algebras depend on the quantum deformation parameter $q$ and they go over into the usual Lie algebras when $q=1$. The notions of q-conjugation and q-linearity are introduced. q-linear analogues of the classical antipode and Cartan involution are defined and a generalised Killing form, q-linear in the first entry and linear in the second, is obtained. These structures allow the derivation of symmetries between the structure constants of quantum Lie algebras. The explicitly worked out examples of $g=sl_3$ and $so_5$ illustrate the results.

Phase spaces related to standard classical $r$-matrices

Fundamental representations of real simple Poisson Lie groups are Poisson actions with a suitable choice of the Poisson structure on the underlying (real) vector space. We study these (mostly quadratic) Poisson structures and corresponding phase spaces (symplectic groupoids).

Non integrable representations of the restricted quantum analogue of sl(3) at roots of 1

The structure of irreducible representations of (restricted) U_q(sl(3)) at roots of unity is understood within the Gelfand--Zetlin basis. The latter needs a weakened definition for non integrable representations, where the quadratic Casimir operator of the quantum subalgebra U_q(sl(2)) of U_q(sl(3)) is not completely diagonalized. This is necessary in order to take in account the indecomposable U_q(sl(2))-modules that appear. The set of redefined (mixed) states has a teepee shape inside the pyramid made with the whole representation.

On boson algebras as Hopf algebras

Certain types of generalized undeformed and deformed boson algebras which admit a Hopf algebra structure are introduced, together with their Fock-type representations and their corresponding $R$-matrices. It is also shown that a class of generalized Heisenberg algebras including those algebras including those underlying physical models such as that of Calogero-Sutherland, is isomorphic with one of the types of boson algebra proposed, and can be formulated as a Hopf algebra.

Permutation-type solutions to the Yang-Baxter and other n-simplex equations

We study permutation type solutions to n-simplex equations, that is, solutions whose R matrix can be written as a product of delta- functions depending linearly on the indices. With this ansatz the D^{n(n+1)} equations of the n-simplex equation reduce to an [n(n+1)/2+1]x[n(n+1)/2+1] matrix equation over Z_D. We have completely analyzed the 2-, 3- and 4-simplex equations in the generic D case. The solutions show interesting patterns that seem to continue to still higher simplex equations.

On the uniqueness of the Moyal structure of phase-space functions

It is shown that the only associative algebras with a trivial center defined on functions of $\Rl^N$ by an integral kernel are generalized Moyal algebras, corresponding to some particular operator ordering. Similarly, the only such Lie algebras are generalized Moyal or Poisson Lie algebras. In both cases these structures are isomorphic respectively to the Moyal algebra, the Moyal Lie algebra and the Poisson Lie algebra. These results are independent of $N$, which is necessarily even, and generalize previous work on the subject.

Maxwell-Bloch equation and Correlation function for penetrable Bose gas

We consider the quantum nonlinear Schrödinger equation in one space and one time dimension. We are interested in the non-free-fermionic case. We consider static temperature-dependent correlation functions. The determinant representation for correlation functions simplifies in the small mass limit of the Bose particle. In this limit we describe the correlation functions by the vacuum expectation value of a boson-valued solution for Maxwell-Bloch differential equation. We evaluate long-distance asymptotics of correlation functions in the small mass limit.

q-Functional Wick's theorems for particles with exotic statistics

In the paper we begin a description of functional methods of quantum field theory for systems of interacting q-particles. These particles obey exotic statistics and are the q-generalization of the colored particles which appear in many problems of condensed matter physics, magnetism and quantum optics. Motivated by the general ideas of standard field theory we prove the q-functional analogues of Hori's formulation of Wick's theorems for the different ordered q-particle creation and annihilation operators. The formulae have the same formal expressions as fermionic and bosonic ones but differ by a nature of fields. This allows us to derive the perturbation series for the theory and develop analogues of standard quantum field theory constructions in q-functional form.

The Reversed q-Exponential Functional Relation

After obtaining some useful identities, we prove an additional functional relation for $q$ exponentials with reversed order of multiplication, as well as the well known direct one in a completely rigorous manner.

Irreducible decomposition for tensor prodect representations of Jordanian quantum algebras

Tensor products of irreducible representations of the Jordanian quantum algebras U_h(sl(2)) and U_h(su(1,1)) are considered. For both the highest weight finite dimensional representations of U_h(sl(2)) and lowest weight infinite dimensional ones of U_h(su(1,1)), it is shown that tensor product representations are reducible and that the decomposition rules to irreducible representations are exactly the same as those of corresponding Lie algebras.

On the generalizations of Poisson structures

The characterization of the Nambu-Poisson n-tensors as a subfamily of the Generalized-Poisson ones recently introduced (and here extended to the odd order case) is discussed. The homology and cohomology complexes of both structures are compared, and some physical considerations are made.

Duality for the Jordanian Matrix Quantum Group $GL_{g,h}(2)$

We find the Hopf algebra $U_{g,h}$ dual to the Jordanian matrix quantum group $GL_{g,h}(2)$. As an algebra it depends only on the sum of the two parameters and is split in two subalgebras: $U'_{g,h}$ (with three generators) and $U(Z)$ (with one generator). The subalgebra $U(Z)$ is a central Hopf subalgebra of $U_{g,h}$. The subalgebra $U'_{g,h}$ is not a Hopf subalgebra and its coalgebra structure depends on both parameters. We discuss also two one-parameter special cases: $g =h$ and $g=-h$. The subalgebra $U'_{h,h}$ is a Hopf algebra and coincides with the algebra introduced by Ohn as the dual of $SL_h(2)$. The subalgebra $U'_{-h,h}$ is isomorphic to $U(sl(2))$ as an algebra but has a nontrivial coalgebra structure and again is not a Hopf subalgebra of $U_{-h,h}$.

Boson representations, non-standard quantum algebras and contractions

A Gelfan'd--Dyson mapping is used to generate a one-boson realization for the non-standard quantum deformation of $sl(2,\R)$ which directly provides its infinite and finite dimensional irreducible representations. Tensor product decompositions are worked out for some examples. Relations between contraction methods and boson realizations are also explored in several contexts. So, a class of two-boson representations for the non-standard deformation of $sl(2,\R)$ is introduced and contracted to the non-standard quantum (1+1) Poincaré representations. Likewise, a quantum extended Hopf $sl(2,\R)$ algebra is constructed and the Jordanian $q$-oscillator algebra representations are obtained from it by means of another contraction procedure.
