Exact solution of Schroedinger equation in the case of reduction to Riccati type of ODE

A new type of solution for the full 3+1 dimensional space-time Schroedinger equation is presented here. We consider elegant presentation of the exact solution in a spherical coordinate system, along with the assuming of separation of the two angular co-ordinates from the radial and time variables. The separation of variables follows from an assumed product form of the full potential function, which should allow us to reduce the Schroedinger Eq. to Riccati ODE in stationary case. If the angular dependence is constant, then the azimuthal dependence is linear and the polar dependence is logarithmic. With this reduction the remaining partial differential equation links the radial and time dependence which is, in effect, the standard time-dependent spherical radial Schroedinger equation. Besides, we obtain that the time-depended 2-angles solutions exist if the axis of preferential direction of wave propagation is similar to the time arrow in mechanical processes. The other possibility is the appropriate phase-shifting of the time-depended solutions. A paraxial type approximation is obtained for the solution in the limit in which the polar angle approaches zero.

The electromagnetic field equations for moving media

In this paper a formulation of the field equation for moving media is developed by the generalization of an axiomatic geometric formulation of the electromagnetism in vacuum (Ivezić T 2005 Found. Phys. Lett. 18 401. First, the field equations with bivectors F(x) and \mathcal{M}(x) are presented and then these equations are written with vectors E(x), B(x), P(x) and M(x). The latter ones contain both the velocity vector u of a moving medium and the velocity vector v of the observers who measure E and B fields. They do not appear in the entire previous literature. All these equations are written in the standard basis and compared with Maxwell's equations with 3-vectors. In this approach the Ampèr-Maxwell law and Gauss's law are inseparably connected in one law and the same happens with Faraday's law and the law that expresses the absence of magnetic charge. It is shown that Maxwell's equations with 3-vectors and our field equations with 4D geometric quantities are not equivalent in the 4D spacetime.

A biotic cosmos demystified?

Oceanic planets formed by type Ia supernovae become spectacularly abundant as stars cease to shine. However, the timing may not be altogether inappropriate. Neutrino annihilation might thermally regulate iron-cored water-worlds, sustaining habitable subglacial oceans. If dark matter and dark energy decay to neutrinos, the universe could support life for ~ 10^23 years. Civilisations surmounting the arduous process of hereditary genetics soon discern the biotic nature of the cosmos and accept their role within it. An infrastructure guards against the spread of rogue colonists. Recruited colonists could harness the available energy for the benefit of life with stupendous efficiency, providing unmistakeable evidence of cosmological optimisation. The anthropic coincidences, inhospitable aspects of the current universe and Fermi's paradox would all be illuminated. Semiconductors sensitive to a neutrinoelectric effect offer a laboratory test of the planetary heating mechanism.

Nuclear lattice model and the electronic configuration of the chemical elements

The fundamental organizing principle resulting in the periodic table is the nuclear charge. Arranging the chemical elements in an increasing atomic number order, a symmetry pattern known as the Periodic Table is detectable. The correlation between nuclear charge and the Periodic System of the Chemical Elements (PSCE) indicates that the symmetry emerges from the nucleus. Nuclear symmetry can only exist if the relative positions of the nucleons in the nucleus are invariant. Pauli exclusion principle can also be interpreted as the nucleons should occupy a lattice position. Based on symmetry and other indicatives face centered cubic arrangement have been proposed for the nuclear lattice. A lattice model, representing the protons and the neutrons by equal spheres and arranging them alternately in a face centered cubic structure forming a double tetrahedron, is able to reproduce all of the properties of the nucleus including the quantum numbers and the periodicity of the elements. Based on the geometry of the nuclear structure it is shown that when a new 'layer' of the nuclear structure starts then the distance between the first proton in the new layer and the charge center of the nucleus is smaller than the distance of the proton, which completed the preceding 'layer'. Thus a new valence electron shell should start to develop when the nuclear structure is expanded. The expansion of the double tetrahedron FCC nuclear lattice model offers a feasible physical explanation how the nucleus affects the electronic configuration of the chemical elements depicted by the periodic table.

Combined Quark-Lepton-Complementarity via United by One-Parameter Particle Mixing Angles

On the level of phenomenology unification-type idea of a basic connection between dimensionless mass and charge quantities requires particle mass copies and therefore is interesting as raison d'etre for particle flavor (degree of freedom). Particle mass ratios and mixing angles expressed in terms of related to the fine structure constant e-parameter are particular examples of mass-matrix -- charge unification. In this paper small violations of quark-lepton-complementarity (QLC) come from an accurate system of three quark mixing angles in terms of the e-parameter. Two patterns of small QLC-violations, 'combined' and 'universal', are considered. The first pattern predicts solar mixing angle θsol= 34.04o as ~7% violation of QLC, and atmospheric mixing angle θatm= 42.64o that is in agreement with QLC. The 'universal' pattern predicts the same magnitude of solar angle, while the atmospheric one violates QLC by ~1%, θatm= 43.0o. Quantitative tests of both QLC-violation patterns and choice between them can be made at accurate neutrino oscillation experiments.

Foundations of a theory of quantum gravity

After a long technical and consequently philosophical disgression about the necessity of the construction presented in this book, a logically consistent and precise theory of quantum gravity is presented. The construction of this theory goes in several steps; at first we take a fairly conservative point of view and stumble upon some technical difficulties. Consequently, we investigate a new mathematical implication of an old idea to solve these problems; the latter suggest however a completely new way of doing quantum theory. This novel theory automatically incoorporates an extended form of gravity as well as a quantum gauge theory. We compute that the well known free quantum field theories and Newtonian gravity emerge in a suitable limit. The philosophy constructed here is to a high degree Whiteheadian.

Notes on a particular Weyl Algebra

By means of the notions of cross product algebras of the theory of quantum groups, in the context of classical Hopf algebra structures, we deduce some known structures of Weyl algebras type (as the Drinfeld quantum double, the restricted Heisenberg double, the generalized Schroedinger representation, and so on) that may be considered as a non-trivial examples of quantum groups having physical meaning, starting from a particular example of groupoid motivated by elementary quantum mechanics.

Cosmology, Holography, the Brain and the Quantum Vacuum

Cosmology, as a science, started at the beginning of the last century with the advent of the Einstein cosmological equations. Based on these equations, the present main stream cosmological model is the well known big-bang, this name unwillingly coined by Fred Hoyle many years ago. Relatively recent additions to this model have been inflation, dark matter and dark energy. We present a smoothly behaved new cosmological model that mainly takes into account the dark part of the Universe. We consider it as the background frame, the substrate, of what we see. The inclusion of the holographic principle clarifies the entropy problem that we also apply to the human brain. We take it as an engineering information center. Finally, the inclusion of the quantum vacuum in this scene creates an important challenge, an opportunity for future research in the knowledge of the Universe.

Space(-Time) Emergence as Symmetry Breaking Effect

The microscopic origin of space(-time) geometry is explained on the basis of an emergence process associated with the condensation of infinite number of microscopic quanta responsible for symmetry breakdown, which implements the basic essence of "Quantum-Classical Correpondense" and of the forcing method in physical and mathematical contexts, respectively. From this viewpoint, the space(-time) dependence of physical quantities arises from the "logical extension" OjiOza to change "constant objects" into "variable objects" by tagging the order parameters associated with the condensation onto "constant objects"; the logical direction here from a value y to a domain variable x (to materialize the basic mechanism behind the Gel'fand isomorphism) is just opposite to that common in the usual definition of a function f:x->f(x) from its domain variable x to a value y=f(x).

The math must be right: Comment on "Dimensional analysis, falling bodies, and the fine art of not solving differential equations" by C. F. Bohren [Am. J. Phys. 72, 534-537 (2004)]

We find it necessary to advise the interested and active instructor of Physics on the wrongness of some computations in the aforementioned article. Surprisingly, the Journal refuses to even publish an erratum on the paper, which naturally brings to mind the question of the number of published papers requiring corrections.

Eddy Current Model of Ball Lightning

Eddy Current Model of Ball Lightning Calculations show that high-energy ball lightning may consist of a ball of plasma containing a large circular electric current arising as an eddy current generated by lightning. Synthetic ball lightning might serve as a method of plasma confinement for purposes of nuclear fusion. In this paper, three articles concerning ball lightning and the related phenomenon of large ball lightning are combined to provide insight into this rarely glimpsed occurrence.

Roles of Asymptotic Condition and S-Matrix as Micro-Macro Duality in QFT

Various versions of "independence" are actively inverstigated in quantum probability. In the context of relativistic QFT, we show here that the physical origin of "independence" can be sought in the asymptotic condition through which asymptotic fields and states exhibiting the independence emerge from the non-independent interacting Heisenberg fields in a kind of "central limit". From the algebraic viewpoint, this condition is equivalent to the on-shell condition to pick up free one-particle modes, which also reduces to Einstein's famous formula $E=mc^{2}$. A scenario to reconstruct interacting Heisenberg fields as Micro-objects from these "independent" =free Macro-objects intertwined by an S-matrix as a measurable quantity is formulated according to the Micro-Macro Duality associated with a new notion of a \textit{cocycle of K-T operators}.

Ball lightning observation: an objective video-camera analysis report

In this paper we describe a video-camera recording of a (probable) ball lightning event and both the related image and signal analyses for its photometric and dynamical characterization. The results strongly support the BL nature of the recorded luminous ball object and allow the researchers to have an objective and unique video document of a possible BL event for further analyses. Some general evaluations of the obtained results considering the proposed ball lightning models conclude the paper.

Dynamical 3-Space: Emergent Gravity

The laws of gravitation devised by Newton, and by Hilbert and Einstein, have failed many experimental and observational tests, namely the bore hole g anomaly, flat rotation curves for spiral galaxies, supermassive black hole mass spectrum, uniformly expanding universe, cosmic filaments, laboratory G measurements, galactic EM bending, precocious galaxy formation,.. The response has been the introduction of the new epicycles: ``dark matter", ``dark energy", and others. To understand gravity we must restart with the experimental discoveries by Galileo, and following a heuristic argument we are led to a uniquely determined theory of a dynamical 3-space. That 3-space exists has been missed from the beginning of physics, although it was 1st directly detected by Michelson and Morley in 1887. Uniquely generalising the quantum theory to include this dynamical 3-space we deduce the response of quantum matter and show that it results in a new account of gravity, and explains the above anomalies and others. The dynamical theory for this 3-space involves G, which determines the dissipation rate of space by matter, and alpha, which experiments and observation reveal to be the fine structure constant. For the 1st time we have a comprehensive account of space and matter and their interaction - gravity.

Dynamical 3-Space: Cosmic Filaments, Sheets and Voids

Observations of weak gravitational lensing combined with statistical tomographic techniques have revealed that galaxies have formed along filaments, essentially one-dimensional lines or strings, which form sheets and voids. These have, in the main, been interpreted as "dark matter" effects. To the contrary here we report the discovery that the dynamical 3-space theory possesses such filamentary solutions. These solutions are purely space self-interaction effects, and are attractive to matter, and as well generate electromagnetic lensing. This theory of space has explained bore hole anomalies, supermassive black hole masses in spherical galaxies and globular clusters, flat rotation curves of spiral galaxies, and other gravitational anomalies. The theory has two constants, G and alpha, where the bore hole experiments show that alpha approx 1/137 is the fine structure constant.
