Elementary Excitations and Dynamical Correlation Functions of the Calogero-Sutherland Model with Internal Symmetry

We consider the physical properties of elementary excitations of the Calogero-Sutherland (CS) model with SU(K) internal symmetry. From the results on the thermodynamics of this model, we obtain the charge, spin, and statistics of elementary excitations. Combining this knowledge and the known results on the dynamics in the spinless CS model, we propose the expression for the dynamical correlation functions of the SU(K) CS model. In the asymptotic region, we confirm the consistency of our results with predictions from conformal field theory.

Orthogonal Symmetric Polynomials Associated with the Calogero Model

The Calogero model is a one-dimensional quantum integrable system with inverse-square long-range interactions confined in an external harmonic well. It shares the same algebraic structure with the Sutherland model, which is also a one-dimensional quantum integrable system with inverse-sine-square interactions. Inspired by the Rodrigues formula for the Jack polynomials, which form the orthogonal basis of the Sutherland model, recently found by Lapointe and Vinet, we construct the Rodrigues formula for the Hi-Jack (hidden-Jack) polynomials that form the orthogonal basis of the Calogero model.

The Coupled Modified Korteweg-de Vries Equations

Generalization of the modified KdV equation to a multi-component system, that is expressed by $(\partial u_i)/(\partial t) + 6 (\sum_{j,k=0}^{M-1} C_{jk} u_j u_k) (\partial u_i)/(\partial x) + (\partial^3 u_{i})/(\partial x^3) = 0, i=0, 1, ..., M-1 $, is studied. We apply a new extended version of the inverse scattering method to this system. It is shown that this system has an infinite number of conservation laws and multi-soliton solutions. Further, the initial value problem of the model is solved.

Multi-parameter deformed and nonstandard $Y(gl_M)$ Yangian symmetry in integrable variants of Haldane-Shastry spin chain

By using `anyon like' representations of permutation algebra, which pick up nontrivial phase factors while interchanging the spins of two lattice sites, we construct some integrable variants of Haldane-Shastry (HS) spin chain. Lax equations for these spin chains allow us to find out the related conserved quantities. However, it turns out that such spin chains also possess a few additional conserved quantities which are apparently not derivable from the Lax equations. Identifying these additional conserved quantities, and the usual ones related to Lax equations, with different modes of a monodromy matrix, it is shown that the above mentioned HS like spin chains exhibit multi-parameter deformed and `nonstandard' variants of $Y(gl_M)$ Yangian symmetry.

The Davey Stewartson system and the Bäcklund Transformations

We consider the (coupled) Davey-Stewartson (DS) system and its Bäcklund transformations (BT). Relations among the DS system, the double Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) system and the Ablowitz-Ladik hierarchy (ALH) are established. The DS hierarchy and the double KP system are equivalent. The ALH is the BT of the DS system in a certain reduction. {From} the BT of coupled DS system we can obtain new coupled derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations.

Analytical Study of the Julia Set of a Coupled Generalized Logistic Map

A coupled system of two generalized logistic maps is studied. In particular influence of the coupling to the behaviour of the Julia set in two dimensional complex space is analyzed both analytically and numerically. It is proved analytically that the Julia set disappears from the complex plane uniformly as a parameter interpolates from the chaotic phase to the integrable phase, if the coupling strength satisfies a certain condition.

Excited state TBA and functional relations in spinless Fermion model

The excited state thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations for the spinless Fermion model are presented by the quantum transfer matrix (QTM) approach. We introduce a more general family called T-functions and explore functional relations among them (T-system) and their certain combinations (Y-system). {}From their analytical property, we derive a closed set of non-linear integral equations which characterize the correlation length of $ $ at any finite temperatures. Solving these equations numerically, we explicitly determine the correlation length, which coincides with earlier results with high accuracy.

Hungry Volterra equation, multi boson KP hierarchy and Two Matrix Models

We consider the hungry Volterra hierarchy from the view point of the multi boson KP hierarchy. We construct the hungry Volterra equation as the Bäcklund transformations (BT) which are not the ordinary ones. We call them ``fractional '' BT. We also study the relations between the (discrete time) hungry Volterra equation and two matrix models. From this point of view we study the reduction from (discrete time) 2d Toda lattice to the (discrete time) hungry Volterra equation.

Exact spectrum and partition function of SU(m|n) supersymmetric Polychronakos model

By using the fact that Polychronakos-like models can be obtained through the `freezing limit' of related spin Calogero models, we calculate the exact spectrum as well as partition function of SU(m|n) supersymmetric Polychronakos (SP) model. It turns out that, similar to the non-supersymmetric case, the spectrum of SU(m|n) SP model is also equally spaced. However, the degeneracy factors of corresponding energy levels crucially depend on the values of bosonic degrees of freedom (m) and fermionic degrees of freedom (n). As a result, the partition functions of SP models are expressed through some novel q-polynomials. Finally, by interchanging the bosonic and fermionic degrees of freedom, we obtain a duality relation among the partition functions of SP models.

Rodrigues Formula for the Nonsymmetric Multivariable Laguerre Polynomial

Extending a method developed by Takamura and Takano, we present the Rodrigues formula for the nonsymmetric multivariable Laguerre polynomials which form the orthogonal basis for the $B_{N}$-type Calogero model with distinguishable particles. Our construction makes it possible for the first time to algebraically generate all the nonsymmetric multivariable Laguerre polynomials with different parities for each variable.

Equivalence of Local and Separable Realizations of the Discontinuity-Inducing Contact Interaction and Its Perturbative Renormalizability

We prove that the separable and local approximations of the discontinuity-inducing zero-range interaction in one-dimensional quantum mechanics are equivalent. We further show that the interaction allows the perturbative treatment through the coupling renormalization. Keywords: one-dimensional system, generalized contact interaction, renormalization, perturbative expansion. PACS Nos: 3.65.-w, 11.10.Gh, 31.15.Md

Calogero-Moser Models: A New Formulation

A new formulation of Calogero-Moser models based on root systems and their Weyl group is presented. The general construction of the Lax pairs applicable to all models based on the simply-laced algebras (ADE) are given for two types which we call `root' and `minimal'. The root type Lax pair is new; the matrices used in its construction bear a resemblance to the adjoint representation of the associated Lie algebra, and exist for all models, but they do not contain elements associated with the zero weights corresponding to the Cartan subalgebra. The root type provides a simple method of constructing sufficiently many number of conserved quantities for all models, including the one based on $E_{8}$, whose integrability had been an unsolved problem for more than twenty years. The minimal types provide a unified description of all known examples of Calogero-Moser Lax pairs and add some more. In both cases, the root type and the minimal type, the formulation works for all of the four choices of potentials: the rational, trigonometric, hyperbolic and elliptic.

Calogero-Moser Models II: Symmetries and Foldings

Universal Lax pairs (the root type and the minimal type) are presented for Calogero-Moser models based on simply laced root systems, including E_8. They exist with and without spectral parameter and they work for all of the four choices of potentials: the rational, trigonometric, hyperbolic and elliptic. For the elliptic potential, the discrete symmetries of the simply laced models, originating from the automorphism of the extended Dynkin diagrams, are combined with the periodicity of the potential to derive a class of Calogero-Moser models known as the `twisted non-simply laced models'. For untwisted non-simply laced models, two kinds of root type Lax pairs (based on long roots and short roots) are derived which contain independent coupling constants for the long and short roots. The BC_n model contains three independent couplings, for the long, middle and short roots. The G_2 model based on long roots exhibits a new feature which deserves further study.

The Structure of the Bazhanov-Baxter Model and a New Solution of the Tetrahedron Equation

We clarify the structure of the Bazhanov-Baxter model of the 3-dim N-state integrable model. There are two essential points, i) the cubic symmetries, and ii) the spherical trigonometry parametrization, to understand the structure of this model. We propose two approaches to find a candidate as a solution of the tetrahedron equation, and we find a new solution.

Calogero-Moser Models IV: Limits to Toda theory

Calogero-Moser models and Toda models are well-known integrable multi-particle dynamical systems based on root systems associated with Lie algebras. The relation between these two types of integrable models is investigated at the levels of the Hamiltonians and the Lax pairs. The Lax pairs of Calogero-Moser models are specified by the representations of the reflection groups, which are not the same as those of the corresponding Lie algebras. The latter specify the Lax pairs of Toda models. The Hamiltonians of the elliptic Calogero-Moser models tend to those of Toda models as one of the periods of the elliptic function goes to infinity, provided the dynamical variables are properly shifted and the coupling constants are scaled. On the other hand most of Calogero-Moser Lax pairs, for example, the root type Lax pairs, do not a have consistent Toda model limit. The minimal type Lax pairs, which corresponds to the minimal representations of the Lie algebras, tend to the Lax pairs of the corresponding Toda models.

Calogero-Moser Models V: Supersymmetry and Quantum Lax Pair

It is shown that the Calogero-Moser models based on all root systems of the finite reflection groups (both the crystallographic and non-crystallographic cases) with the rational (with/without a harmonic confining potential), trigonometric and hyperbolic potentials can be simply supersymmetrised in terms of superpotentials. There is a universal formula for the supersymmetric ground state wavefunction. Since the bosonic part of each supersymmetric model is the usual quantum Calogero-Moser model, this gives a universal formula for its ground state wavefunction and energy, which is determined purely algebraically. Quantum Lax pair operators and conserved quantities for all the above Calogero-Moser models are established.

Covariance Properties of Reflection Equation Algebras

The reflection equations (RE) are a consistent extension of the Yang-Baxter equations (YBE) with an addition of one element, the so-called reflection matrix or $K$-matrix. For example, they describe the conditions for factorizable scattering on a half line just like the YBE give the conditions for factorizable scattering on an entire line. The YBE were generalized to define quadratic algebras, \lq Yang-Baxter algebras\rq\ (YBA), which were used intensively for the discussion of quantum groups. Similarly, the RE define quadratic algebras, \lq the reflection equation algebras\rq\ (REA), which enjoy various remarkable properties both new and inherited from the YBA. Here we focus on the various properties of the REA, in particular, the quantum group comodule properties, generation of a series of new solutions by composing known solutions, the extended REA and the central elements, etc.
