Formality of Chain Operad of Small Squares

We prove that the chain operad of small squares is formal. This fact clarifies situation with the proof of M. Kontsevich formality theorem in the paper of the author math.QA/9803025, revised Sept 24. The formality of the operad follows quite easily from the existence of an associator.

Quantum matrix ball: differential and integral calculi

We have introduced q-analogues of bounded symmetric domains in our work q-alg/9703005. Given the simplest ones among those, the works q-alg/9603012 and math.QA/9803110 announce the relations describing the algebras of functions, differential and integral calculi. This paper presents the proofs of these results.

Canonical bases of higher-level q-deformed Fock spaces and Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials

The aim of this paper is to generalize several aspects of the recent work of Leclerc-Thibon and Varagnolo-Vasserot on the canonical bases of the level 1 q-deformed Fock spaces due to Hayashi. Namely, we define canonical bases for the higher-level q-deformed Fock spaces of Jimbo-Misra-Miwa-Okado and establish a relation between these bases and (parabolic) Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for the affine Weyl group of type $A^{(1)}_{r-1}.$ As an application we derive an inversion formula for a sub-family of these polynomials. This article is an extended version of math.QA/9901032

Quantum Co-Adjoint Orbits of the Group of Affine Transformations of the Complex Straight Line

We construct start-products on the co-adjoint orbit of Lie group $\Aff({\bf C})$ of affine transformations of the complex straight line and apply them to obtain the irreducible unitary representations of this group. These results show effectiveness of the Fedosov quantization even for groups which are neither nilpotent nor exponential. Together with the result for the group $\Aff({\bf R})$ in math.QA/9905002, we have thus a description of quantum $\bar{MD}$ co-adjoint orbits.

Quantum matrix ball: the Bergman kernel

In our preprint q-alg/9703005 q-analogues of bounded symmetric domains were defined to be homogeneous spaces of the associated quantum groups. The investigation of a simplest among those domains, the quantum matrix ball, was started in math.QA/9803110. This work presents a construction of q-analogues for Hardy-Bergman spaces of 'functions in those balls', together with an explicit form of the Bergman kernel. Besides that, two auxiliary results are also established: a boundedness of matrix balls is proved, and de Rham complexes of differential forms with finite coefficients in those balls are constructed.

Biperfect Hopf Algebras

Recall that a finite group is called perfect if it does not have non-trivial 1-dimensional representations (over the field of complex numbers C). By analogy, let us say that a finite dimensional Hopf algebra H over C is perfect if any 1-dimensional H-module is trivial. Let us say that H is biperfect if both H and H^* are perfect. Note that, H is biperfect if and only if its quantum double D(H) is biperfect. It is not easy to construct a biperfect Hopf algebra of dimension >1. The goal of this note is to describe the simplest such example we know. The biperfect Hopf algebra H we construct is based on the Mathiew group of degree 24, and it is semisimple. Therefore, it yields a negative answer to Question 7.5 from a previous paper of the first two authors (math.QA/9905168). Namely, it shows that Corollary 7.4 from this paper stating that a triangular semisimple Hopf algebra over C has a non-trivial group-like element, fails in the quasitriangular case. The counterexample is the quantum double D(H).

Up-to-Homotopy Monoids

Informally, a homotopy monoid is a monoid-like structure in which properties such as associativity only hold `up to homotopy' in some consistent way. This short paper comprises a rigorous definition of homotopy monoid and a brief analysis of some examples. It is a much-abbreviated version of the paper `Homotopy Algebras for Operads' (math.QA/0002180), and does not assume any knowledge of operads.

Webs and quantum skew Howe duality

We give a diagrammatic presentation in terms of generators mod relations of the representation category of $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_n)$. More precisely, we produce all the relations among $\rm{SL}_n$-webs, thus describing the full subcategory tensor-generated by fundamental representations $\bigwedge^k \mathbb{C}^n$ (this subcategory can be idempotent completed to recover the entire representation category). Our result answers a question posed by Kuperberg [arXiv:q-alg/9712003] and affirms conjectures of Kim [arXiv:math.QA/0310143] and Morrison [arXiv:0704.1503]. Our main tool is an application of quantum skew Howe duality.

SUSY vertex algebras and supercurves

This article is a continuation of math.QA/0603633 Given a strongly conformal SUSY vertex algebra V and a supercurve X we construct a vector bundle V_X on X, the fiber of which, is isomorphic to V. Moreover, the state-field correspondence of V canonically gives rise to (local) sections of these vector bundles. We also define chiral algebras on any supercurve X, and show that the vector bundle V_X, corresponding to a SUSY vertex algebra, carries the structure of a chiral algebra.

Higher-dimensional BF theories in the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism: The BV action and generalized Wilson loops

This paper analyzes in details the Batalin-Vilkovisky quantization procedure for BF theories on n-dimensional manifolds and describes a suitable superformalism to deal with the master equation and the search of observables. In particular, generalized Wilson loops for BF theories with additional polynomial B-interactions are discussed in any dimensions. The paper also contains the explicit proofs to the Theorems stated in math.QA/0003073.

Categorified quantum sl(2) and equivariant cohomology of iterated flag varieties

A 2-category was introduced in arXiv:0803.3652 [math.QA] that categorifies Lusztig's integral version of quantum sl(2). Here we construct for each positive integer N arepresentation of this 2-category using the equivariant cohomology of iterated flag varieties. This representation categorifies the irreducible (N+1)-dimensional representation of quantum sl(2).

Poisson-Lie dynamical r-matrices from Dirac reduction

The Dirac reduction technique used previously to obtain solutions of the classical dynamical Yang-Baxter equation on the dual of a Lie algebra is extended to the Poisson-Lie case and is shown to yield naturally certain dynamical r-matrices on the duals of Poisson-Lie groups found by Etingof, Enriquez and Marshall in math.QA/0403283.

Crystal Interpretation of Kerov-Kirillov-Reshetikhin Bijection II. Proof for sl_n Case

In proving the Fermionic formulae, combinatorial bijection called the Kerov--Kirillov--Reshetikhin (KKR) bijection plays the central role. It is a bijection between the set of highest paths and the set of rigged configurations. In this paper, we give a proof of crystal theoretic reformulation of the KKR bijection. It is the main claim of Part I (math.QA/0601630) written by A. Kuniba, M. Okado, T. Takagi, Y. Yamada, and the author. The proof is given by introducing a structure of affine combinatorial $R$ matrices on rigged configurations.

A note on permutation twist defects in topological bilayer phases

We present a mathematical derivation of some of the most important physical quantities arising in topological bilayer systems with permutation twist defects as introduced by Barkeshli et al. in cond-mat/1208.4834. A crucial tool is the theory of permutation equivariant modular functors developed by Barmeier et al. in math.CT/0812.0986 and math.QA/1004.1825.

Cardy algebras and sewing constraints, II

This is the part II of a two-part work started in arXiv:0807.3356 [math.QA]. In part I, Cardy algebras were studied, a notion which arises from the classification of genus-0,1 open-closed rational conformal field theories. In this part, we prove that a Cardy algebra also satisfies the higher genus factorisation and modular-invariance properties formulated in arXiv:hep-th/0612306 in terms of the notion of a solution to the sewing constraints. We present the proof by showing that the latter notion, which is defined as a monoidal natural transformation, can be expressed in terms of generators and relations, which correspond exactly to the defining data and axioms of a Cardy algebra.
