How Far Should the Principle of Relativity Go ?

The Principle of Relativity has so far been understood as the {\it covariance} of laws of Physics with respect to a general class of reference frame transformations. That relativity, however, has only been expressed with the help of {\it one single} type of mathematical entities, namely, the scalars given by the usual continuum of the field $\mathbb{R}$ of real numbers, or by the usual mathematical structures built upon $\mathbb{R}$, such as the scalars given by the complex numbers $\mathbb{C}$, or the vectors in finite dimensional Euclidean spaces $\mathbb{R}^n$, infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces, etc. This paper argues for {\it progressing deeper and wider} in furthering the Principle of Relativity, not by mere covariance with respect to reference frames, but by studying the possible covariance with respect to a {\it large variety} of algebras of scalars which extend significantly $\mathbb{R}$ or $\mathbb{C}$, variety of scalars in terms of which various theories of Physics can equally well be formulated. First directions in this regard can be found naturally in the simple Mathematics of Special Relativity, the Bell Inequalities in Quantum Mechanics, or in the considerable amount of elementary Mathematics in finite dimensional vector spaces which occurs in Quantum Computation. The large classes of algebras of scalars suggested, which contain $\mathbb{R}$ and $\mathbb{C}$ as particular cases, have the important feature of typically {\it no longer} being Archimedean, see Appendix, a feature which can prove to be valuable when dealing with the so called "infinities" in Physics. The paper has a Comment on the so called "end of time".

On The 5D Extra-Force according to Basini-Capozziello-Ponce De Leon Formalism and the Experimental Research of Extra Dimensions On-Board International Space Station(ISS) using Laser Beams

We analyze the possibility of Experimental Research of Extra Dimensions On-Board International Space Station (ISS) by using a Satellite carrying a Laser device(optical Laser) on the other side of Earth Orbit targeted towards ISS.The Sun will be between the Satellite and the ISS so the Laser will pass the neighborhoods of the Sun at a distance $R$ in order to reach ISS. The Laser beam will be Gravitationally Bent according to Classical General Relativity and the Extra Terms predicted by Kar-Sinha in the Gravitational Bending Of Light due to the presence of Extra Dimensions can perhaps be measured with precision equipment.By computing the Gravitational Bending according to Einstein we know the exact position where the Laser will reach the target on-board ISS.However if the Laser arrives at ISS with a Bending different than the one predicted by Einstein and if this difference is equal to the Extra Terms predicted by Kar-Sinha then this experience would proof that we live in a Universe of more than 4 Dimensions. We demonstrate in this work that ISS have the needed precision to detect these Extra Terms(see eq 137 in this work).Such experience would resemble the measures of the Gravitational Bending Of Light by Sir Arthur Stanley Eddington in the Sun Eclipse of 1919 that helped to proof the correctness of General Relativity although in ISS case would have more degres of accuracy because we would be free from the interference of Earth Atmosphere.

Time Dilation and the Equivalence of Inertial Frames

It is well known that simultaneity within an inertial frame is defined in relativity theory by a convention or definition. This definition leads to different simultaneities across inertial frames and the well known principle of relativity of simultaneity. The lack of a universal present implies the existence of past, present and future as a collection of events on a four dimensional manifold or continuum wherein three dimensions are space like and one dimension is time like. However, such a continuum precludes the possibility of evolution of future from the present as all events exist forever so to speak on the continuum with the tenses past, present and future merely being perceptions of different inertial frames. Such a far-reaching ontological concept, created by a mere convention, is yet to gain full acceptance. In this paper, we present arguments in favour of an absolute present, which means simultaneous events are simultaneous in all inertial frames, and subscribe to evolution of future from the present.

Gravitation in 4D Euclidean Space-Time Geometry

The Euclidean interpretation of special relativity which has been suggested by the author is a formulation of special relativity in ordinary 4D Euclidean space-time geometry. The natural and geometrically intuitive generalization of this view involves variations of the speed of light (depending on location and direction) and a Euclidean principle of general covariance. In this article, a gravitation model by Jan Broekaert, which implements a view of relativity theory in the spirit of Lorentz and Poincare, is reconstructed and shown to fulfill the principles of the Euclidean approach after an appropriate reinterpretation.

Parametric internal waves in a compressible fluid

We describe the effect of vibration on a confined volume of fluid which is density stratified due to its compressibility. We show that internal gravity-acoustic waves can be parametrically destabilized by the vibration. The resulting instability is similar to the classic Faraday instability of surface waves, albeit modified by the compressible nature of the fluid. It may be possible to observe experimentally near a gas-liquid critical point.

Three-dimensional transformation for point rotation coordinate frames

We consider the transformation for the point rotation frames with the angle, spatial coordinate along the axis of rotation and time as variables. The problem arises when light, propagating through 3-fold electrooptical crystal, is modulated by the circularly polarized electromagnetic wave traveling along the optical axis of the crystal. With help of the transformation we show that such a wave cannot produce an extra optical frequency shift discussed earlier. In contrast to that the modulation by the rotating spatially invariable electric field produces the shift. The formal change to this case may be carried out by reducing the velocity of the traveling wave to zero. Some properties of the three-dimensional transformation are discussed.

Misssing experiments in relativity and gravity

The proposal is submitted for the measurement of the relativistic length contraction using the nanoscopic dumbbell moving in LHC or ILC. Some paradoxes concerning the length contraction and simultaneity are discussed. The dynamical states of rods and strings accelerated by the gravitational field and non-gravitational field are discussed. The realizaton of the acceleration of the nanotube charged dumbbell in LHC, ILC and other accelerators is evidently the prestige problem for the experts working in the accelerator physiocs.

Instanton Packet Formation via a Wormhole Bridge between a Prior to our Present Universe, and criteria for their possible break up

We present a criteria for necessary conditions for instanton formation of an energy packet from a prior to our present universe, using the Reissnor-Nordstrom metric which is congruent with Crowell's pseudo time evolution version of Wheeler De Witt equation. This is based upon Wesson's (1999) treatment of instanton formation in five dimensional cosmologies. Criteria for break up of this instanton is proposed due to a causal barrier derived from first principles From the Friedmann equation for scale factor evolution, with a discussion of how this can be linked to Seth Lloyd's treatment of computational bits of 'information' in different periods of inflationary cosmology

The shadow of light: evidences of photon behaviour contradicting known electrodynamics

We report the results of a double-slit-like experiment in the infrared range, which evidence an anomalous behaviour of photon systems under particular (energy and space) constraints. The statistical analysis of these outcomes (independently confirmed by crossing photon beam experiments in both the optical and the microwave range) shows a significant departure from the predictions of both classical and quantum electrodynamics.

Neutrons from Piezonuclear Reactions

We report the results obtained by cavitating water solutions of iron salts (iron chloride and iron nitrate) with different concentrations at different ultrasound powers. In all cases we detected a neutron radiation well higher than the background level. The neutron production is perfectly reproducible and can at some extent be controlled. These evidences for neutron emission generated by cavitation support some preliminary clues for the possibility of piezonuclear reactions (namely nuclear reactions induced by pressure and shock waves) obtained in the last ten years. We have been able for the first time to state some basic features of such a neutron emission induced by cavitation, namely: 1) a marked threshold behavior in power, energy and time; 2) its occurring without a concomitant production of gamma radiation.

The Nature of the Vector and Scalar Potentials and Gauge Invariance in the Context of Gauge Theory

Modern undergraduate textbooks in electricity and magnetism typically focus on a force representation of electrodynamics with an emphasis on Maxwell's Equations and the Lorentz Force Law. The vector potential $\mathbf{A}$ and scalar potential $Φ$ play a secondary role mainly as quantities used to calculate the electric and magnetic fields. However, quantum mechanics including quantum electrodynamics (QED) and other gauge theories demands a potential ($Φ$,$\mathbf{A}$) oriented representation where the potentials are the more fundamental quantities. Here, we help bridge that gap by showing that the homogeneous Maxwell's equations together with the Lorentz Force Law can be derived from assuming that the potentials represent potential energy and momentum per unit charge. Furthermore, we enumerate the additional assumptions that are needed to derive the inhomogeneous Maxwell's equations. As part of this work we demonstrate the physical nature and importance of gauge invariance.

Expansion and hidden dimensions in a new cosmological model

In this paper, we present a new cosmological model using fractal manifold. We prove that a space defined by this kind of manifold is an expanding space. This model provides us with consistent arguments pertaining to the relationship between variation of geometry and movement of matter. This study leads to the existence of new fundamental principles. A clear picture is then portrayed about the expansion of the universe represented by fractal manifold.

A new equation of state for dark energy

In the contemporary Cosmology, dark energy is modeled as a perfect fluid, having a very simple equation of state: pressure is proportional to dark energy density. As an alternative, I propose a more complex equation of state, with pressure being function of three variables: dark energy density, matter density and the size of the Universe. One consequence of the new equation is that, in the late-time Universe, cosmological scale factor is linear function of time; while the standard cosmology predicts an exponential function. The new equation of state allows attributing a temperature to the physical vacuum, a temperature proportional to the acceleration of the expansion of the Universe. The vacuum temperature decreases with the expansion of the Universe, approaching (but never reaching) the absolute zero.

A few remarks about the Pioneer anomaly

Some features of the Pioneer anomaly are discussed in context of author's explanation of this effect as a deceleration of the probes in the graviton background. It is noted that if the model is true then the best parameter of the anomalous acceleration should be not the distance to the Sun but a cosine of the angle between a velocity of the probe and its radius-vector.

Discovery of Quantum Hidden Variable

The first clue, in the theory of relativity, the 4-vector force acting on a particle is orthogonal to the 4-vector velocity of the particle, this orthogonality means that there is some difference between the orthogonality and the usual statement: the Coulomb's force (or gravitational force) acts along the line joining a couple of particles (in usual 3D space), so the direction of 4-vector Coulomb's force is carefully investigated, it is found that Maxwell's equations can be derived from classical Coulomb's force and the orthogonality. The second clue, a 4-vector force has 4 components, because of the orthogonality of 4-vector force and 4-vector velocity, the number of independent components of the 4-vector force reduces to 3, however we prove that 4-vector Coulomb's force can merely provide 2 independent components, this situation means that there is an undefined component accompanying the 4-vector Coulomb's force, hinting that this missing undefined component is a hidden variable. The third clue, the best way to study the hidden variable is to establish a new concept: Z-space, in which the undefined component of 4-vector Coulomb's force can be clearly defined as the hidden variable for the quantum mechanics. At the last, the undefined component is regarded as a fluctuating source that contributes to Lorentz force, so that the quantum wave equation can be derived out in the ensemble space of particle motion from the relativistic Newton's second law.

A model of quantum-like decision-making with applications to psychology and cognitive science

We consider the following model of decision-making by cognitive systems. We present an algorithm -- quantum-like representation algorithm (QLRA) -- which provides a possibility to represent probabilistic data of any origin by complex probability amplitudes. Our conjecture is that cognitive systems developed the ability to use QLRA. They operate with complex probability amplitudes, mental wave functions. Since the mathematical formalism of QM describes as well (under some generalization) processing of such quantum-like (QL) mental states, the conventional quantum decision-making scheme can be used by the brain. We consider a modification of this scheme to describe decision-making in the presence of two ``incompatible'' mental variables. Such a QL decision-making can be used in situations like Prisoners Dilemma (PD) as well as others corresponding to so called disjunction effect in psychology and cognitive science.
