Hodge Theory of Novikov Type Landau--Ginzburg Models

Abstract

We establish a strong Hodge decomposition theorem for Novikov type Landau--Ginzburg models, that is, triples $(M,g,θ)$ consisting of a non-compact complete Kähler manifold $(M,g)$ and a non-trivial closed holomorphic one-form $θ$ on $M$.Under the well-tameness condition and under the assumption that $M$ is Stein, we prove that the space of $L^{2}$-forms on $M$ admits an orthogonal decomposition into the space of harmonic forms of the twisted Laplacian $Δ_θ$ and the images of the twisted Dolbeault operators $\bar\partial+θ\wedge$ and $\bar\partial^{\dagger}+ι_{\barθ^{\sharp}}$; moreover, the harmonic space is concentrated in degree $n=\dim_{\C}M$ and is isomorphic to the Milnor rings of $θ$. As applications, we endow the complement of a hyperplane arrangement with a complete cylindrical Kähler metric, and we show that the differential of a master function with nonresonant weights is well-tamed with respect to this metric. After passing to a log resolution in the non-normal-crossing case; we then apply the results to the Yang--Yang functional of the Gaudin model, whose critical points are the Bethe roots: the top-degree harmonic space is described by the corresponding Milnor rings, and the number of Bethe roots is given by the Varchenko--Orlik--Terao lattice formula.

Apollonian carpets and the boundary of the Kahler cone of a hyperkahler manifold

The ample cone of a compact Kahler $n$-manifold $M$ is the intersection of its Kahler cone and the real subspace generated by integer (1,1)-classes. Its isotropic boundary is the set of all points $η$ on its boundary such that $\int_M η^n=0$. We are interested in the relation between the shape of the isotropic boundary of the ample cone of a hyperkahler manifold and the dynamics of its holomorphic automorphism group $G$. In this case, the projectivization of the ample cone is realized as an open, locally polyhedral subset in a hyperbolic space $H$. The isotropic boundary $S$ is realized as a subset of the hyperbolic boundary (the absolute) $A$ of $H$, which is naturally identified with a Euclidean sphere. It is clear that the isotropic boundary $S$ contains the limit set of $G$ acting on its ample cone. We prove that, conversely, all irrational points on $S$ belong to the limit set. Using a result of N. Shah about limiting distributions of curves under geodesic flow on hyperbolic manifolds, we prove that every real analytic curve in $S$ is contained in a geodesic sphere in $S$,and in presence of such curves the limit set is the closure of the union of these geodesic spheres. We study the geometry of such fractal sets, called Apollonian carpets, and establish the link between the Apollonian carpet and the structure of the automorphism group.

Revisiting Gamma conjecture I: counterexamples and modifications

We continue investigation of asymptotics of quantum differential equation for Fano manifolds, with a special regard to Gamma conjecture I and its underlying Conjecture $\mathcal{O}$. We introduce the A-model conifold value, a symplectic invariant of a Fano manifold, and propose modifications for Gamma conjecture I based on this new definition. We discuss an interplay of birational transformations with an extension of Gamma conjecture I over the Kähler moduli space. These heuristics are applied to rigorously identify the principal asymptotic class in the case of $\mathbb{P}^1$-bundles $X_n=\mathbb{P}_{\mathbb{P}^{n}}(\mathcal{O}\oplus\mathcal{O}(n))$. We observe, in particular, that for $X_n$ of dimension at least four, the Conjecture $\mathcal{O}$ holds just for even values of $n$, and in these cases we falsify the original non-modified Gamma conjecture I.

Modeling Group Actions on Stacks (Especially the Lubin-Tate Action)

Suppose we are given a profinite group G acting on a formal moduli stack M, and we want to understand the group action, and compute cohomology related to this group action. How can we do it? This prolegomenon conveys two methods of pinning down such an action: geometric modeling and the two-tower method. We highlight their use on a specific action -- the automorphisms of a formal group acting on its deformation space, called the Lubin-Tate action. We provide the toolkit that these two methods run on. The pieces of the kit are standard in their own subjects, but the Lubin-Tate action requires us to sew them together and ask more of them than their usual statements give, and several are set down here in that stronger form: equivariantly, in families, and with the grading kept. The tools are put to work in the two sequels, which build geometric models at height p-1 and at the heights p^{k-1}(p-1) above it; the two-tower material is a companion to the proof of the coheight one weak chromatic splitting conjecture.
