Photonic Drag Effect for One-Dimensional Electrons in a Longitudinal Magnetic Field with D(-)-Centers Participation

The impurity photonic drag effect (PDE), theory for semiconductive quantum wire (QW) in a longitudinal (along the quantum wire axis) magnetic field B, has been developed. The PDE is due to the photon longitudinal momentum transmission to localized electrons, under optical transitions from D(-)-states to QW hybrid-quantum states, if the QW is described by the parabolic confinement potential. The analytical expression for the drag current (DC) density has been obtained within the framework of zero-range potential model and in the effective mass approximation. The drag current spectral dependence has been investigated for various values of B and QW parameters, under electron scattering on the dotty-impurities system. The drag current spectral dependence is characterized by Zeeman doublet with a pronounced beak-type peak. This peak is related to electron optical transitions from D(-)-states to the states with the magnetic quantum number m=1. With an increase of the magnetic field B the beak-type peak is shifted to short-wave spectrum region, and the peak height considerably increases. We discuss the possibility of using of the one-dimensional drag current effect, in a longitudinal magnetic field, to develop a new type of laser radiation detectors.

Quantum Dimensional Zeeman Effect in the Magneto-optical Absorption Spectrum for Quantum Dot - Impurity Center Systems

Magneto-optical properties of the quantum dot - impurity center (QD-IC) systems synthesized in a transparent dielectric matrix are considered. For the QD one-electron state description the parabolic model of the confinement potential is used. Within the framework of zero-range potential model and the effective mass approach, the light impurity absorption coefficient for the case of transversal polarization with respect to the applied magnetic field direction, with consideration of the QD size dispersion, has been analytically calculated. It is shown that for the case of transversal polarization the light impurity absorption spectrum is characterized by the quantum dimensional Zeeman effect.

Quasicanonical Gibbs distribution and Tsallis nonextensive statistics

We derive and study quasicanonical Gibbs distribution function which is characterized by the thermostat with finite number of particles (quasithermostat). We show that this naturally leads to Tsallis nonextensive statistics and thermodynamics, with Tsallis parameter q is found to be related to the number of particles in the quasithermostat. We show that the chi-square distribution of fluctuating temperature used recently by Beck can be partially understood in terms of normal random momenta of particles in the quasithermostat. Also, we discuss on the importance of the time scale hierarchy and fluctuating probability distribution functions in understanding of Tsallis distribution, within the framework of kinetics of dilute gas and weakly inhomogeneous systems.

Isoelectronium correlations as a nonlinear two-dimensional two-particle tunnel effect

In this paper, we study a nonlinear two-dimensional two-particle quantum tunnel effect with dissipation in diatomic H-H system. We use an instanton technique based on the path integral approach, and present analytical solutions, in the approximation of linearized reaction coordinates and harmonic potential. It appears that the tunnel effect leads to a specific correlation between two electrons interacting with each other by Coulomb potential. This effect can be viewed as a mechanism supporting the isoelectronium state recently proposed by Santilli and Shillady within the framework of isochemical model of the hydrogen molecule. We show that, under a condition of effective two-dimensional motion, contribution of the quantum tunnel correlated configurations is essential in the electron dynamics. Temperature dependence of the probability of the two-electron tunnel transitions per unit time has been studied.

Magnetic Freezing Effect for the Ground State of Quantum Dot

Within the framework of zero-range potential model in the ap-proach of effective mass, the impurity absorption by the complex Quantum Dot-Impurity Center in an external constant uniform magnetic field is considered. Under condition that the influence of a magnetic field on the ground state of quantum dot is negligible, we have derived the light absorption coefficient of impurity for the case of longitudinal polarization. It is shown that with an increase of the intensity of magnetic field the threshold of an impurity absorption band is shifted to the short-wave spectrum region. Also, the absorption coefficient increases by several times that can be explained as a result of the "magnetic freezing" effect for the ground state of quantum dot.

Toroidal configuration of the orbit of the electron of the hydrogen atom under strong external magnetic fields

In this paper we overview some results on the hydrogen atom in external static uniform magnetic fields. We focus on the case of very strong magnetic field, B>>B_0=2.3x10^9 Gauss, use various approximate models and, particularly, in the adiabatic approximation have calculated exactly the integral defining the effective potential. This potential appears to be finite at z=0. Our consideration of the problem of highly magnetized atoms and molecules is motivated by the recently developed MagneGas technology by Santilli (http://www.magnegas.com). The ground state electron charge distribution of the hydrogen atom in an intense magnetic field is of a toroidal form, in agreement with that studied by Santilli. This physical picture is at the foundation of the new chemical species of magnecules proposed by Santilli.

Combinatorial interpretation of Haldane-Wu fractional exclusion statistics

Assuming that the maximal allowed number of identical particles in state is an integer parameter, q, we derive the statistical weight and analyze the associated equation which defines the statistical distribution. The derived distribution covers Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein ones in the particular cases q = 1 and q -> infinity (n_i/q -> 1), respectively. We show that the derived statistical weight provides a natural combinatorial interpretation of Haldane-Wu fractional exclusion statistics, and present exact solutions of the distribution equation.

Structure and Combustion of Magnegases

In this paper, we study the structure and combustion of magnegases$^{TM}$ (Patented and International Patents Pending), new clean fuels developed by one of us (R.M.S.) [1], which are produced as byproducts of recycling nonradioactive liquid feedstock such as antifreeze waste, engine oil waste, town sewage, crude oil, etc., and generally vary with the liquid used for their production. A new technology, called PlasmaArcFlow\tm, flows the waste through a submerged electric arc between conventional electrodes. The arc decomposes the liquid molecules into their atomic constituents, and forms a plasma in the immediate vicinity of the electrodes at about 10,000$^o$ F. The technology then moves the plasma away from the electrodes, and controls its recombination into environmentally acceptable fuels. The new fuels possess a ew chemical structure first identified by one of us (R.M.S.), which is characterized by clusters of ordinary molecules and atoms under a new bond of electromagnetic nature. These clusters constitute a new chemical species different than the conventional molecules, since they are stable at ordinary conditions while exhibiting no infrared signature (other than those of conventional molecular constituents), thus confirming that the bond is not of valence type. For this reason the new chemical species is called ''Santilli's electromagnecules'' or ''magnecules''.

A Study of the Energy Efficiency of Hadronic Reactors of Molecular Type

In this paper, we introduce an estimate of the "commercial efficiency" of Santilli's hadronic reactors of molecular type (Patented and International Patents Pending) which convert a liquid feedstock (such as automotive antifreeze and oil waste, city or farm liquid waste, crude oil, etc.) into the clean burning magnegas plus heat acquired by the liquid feedstock. The "commercial efficiency" is defined as the ratio between the total energy output (energy in magnegas plus heat) and the electric energy used for its production, while the "scientific efficiency" is the usual ratio between the total energy output and the total energy input (the sum of the electric energy plus the energy in the liquid feedstock as well as that in the carbon electrodes). A primary purpose of this paper is to show that conventional thermochemistry does indeed predict a commercial efficiency bigger than one, although their values is considerably smaller than the actual efficiency measured in the reactors, thus indicating the applicability of the covering hadronic chemistry from which the reactors have received their name. We reach an upper limit of the commercial efficiency of 3.11 for the use of pure water as feedstock, and of 3.11 to 7.5 for a mixture of ethyleneglicole and water. The study of the heat produced by the reactions leads to large divergencies between the thermochemical predictions and experimental data of at least a factor of three. Such divergencies can only be explained with deviations from quantum chemistry in favor of the covering hadronic chemistry. In particular, the indicated large divergencies can only be explained with the assumption that the produced combustible gas has the new non-valence chemical structure of Santilli magnecules.

A Study of Polycarbonyl Compounds in Magnegases

In this paper we study the structure and thermochemical properties of some new polycarbonyl compounds, with particular attention devoted to the study of (CO)$_n$ complexes, which are expected to be present in magnegases^TM. The latter are anomalous gases produced by Hadronic Reactors^TM of molecular type [2] (Patented and International Patents Pending) which expose atoms to the extremely intense electronmagnetic fields existing at atomic distances from electric arcs in such a way to create a toroidal distribution of the orbitals of individual atoms, whether isolated or part of a valence bond. Polarized atoms, dimers and molecules then attract each other via opposing magnetic polarities resulting into stable clusters which constitute a new chemical species called Santilli's magnecules [2]. Some of the numerous open problems in the study of this intriguing new chemical species are pointed out.

Exact solution of the restricted three-body Santilli-Shillady model of $H_2$ molecule

In this paper, we study the exact solution of the restricted isochemical model of $H_2$ molecule with fixed nuclei recently proposed by Santilli and Shillady in which the two electrons are assumed to be bonded/correlated into a quasiparticle called the {\it isoelectronium}. Under the conditions that: 1) the isoelectronium is stable; 2) the effective size of the isoelectronium is ignorable, in comparison to internuclear distance; and 3) the two nuclei are at rest, the Santilli-Shillady model of the $H_2$ molecule is reduced to a restricted {\it three-body} system essentially similar to a neutral version of the $H_2^+$ ion, which, as such, admits exact solution. Our main result is that the restricted three-body Santilli-Shillady approach to $H_2$ is capable to fit the experimental binding energy, at the isoelectronium mass parameter $M=0.308381m_e$, although under optimal internuclear distance about 19.6% bigger than the conventional experimental value, indicating an approximate character of the three-body model.

On variational solution of the four-body Santilli-Shillady model of $H_2$ molecule

In this paper, we apply Ritz variational approach to a new isochemical model of $H_2$ molecule suggested by Santilli and Shillady. We studied Gaussian, $V_g$, and exponential, $V_e$, screened Coloumb potential {\it approximations}, as well as the original Hulten potential, $V_h$, case. Both the Coloumb and exchange integrals have been calculated only for $V_e$ owing to Gegenbauer expansion while for $V_g$ and $V_h$ cases we achieved analytical results only for the Coloumb integrals. We conclude that the $V_e$-based model is capable to fit experimental data on $H_2$ molecule in confirmation of the results of numerical HFR approach by Santilli and Shillady. Also, we achieved the energy-based estimation of the weight of the isoelectronium phase which is appeared to be of the order of 1%...6%, for the case of $V_e$. However, we note that this is {\it not} the result corresponding to the original Santilli-Shillady model, which is based on the Hulten potential $V_h$. An interesting result is that in order to prevent divergency of the Coloumb integral for $V_h$ the correlation length parameter $r_c$ should run discrete set of values. We used this condition in our $V_e$-based model.

BRST Approach to Hamiltonian Systems

BRST formulation of cohomological Hamiltonian mechanics is presented. In the path integral approach, we use the BRST gauge fixing procedure for the partition function with trivial underlying Lagrangian to fix symplectic diffeomorphism invariance. Resulting Lagrangian is BRST and anti-BRST exact and the Liouvillian of classical mechanics is reproduced in the ghost-free sector. The theory can be thought of as a topological phase of Hamiltonian mechanics and is considered as one-dimensional cohomological field theory with the target space a symplectic manifold. Twisted (anti-)BRST symmetry is related to global N=2 supersymmetry, which is identified with an exterior algebra. Landau-Ginzburg formulation of the associated $d=1$, N=2 model is presented and Slavnov identity is analyzed. We study deformations and perturbations of the theory. Physical states of the theory and correlation functions of the BRST invariant observables are studied. This approach provides a powerful tool to investigate the properties of Hamiltonian systems.

q-Deformed Harmonic Oscillator in Phase Space

Relation between Bopp-Kubo formulation and Weyl-Wigner-Moyal symbol calculus, and non-commutative geometry interpretation of the phase space representation of quantum mechanics are studied. Harmonic oscillator in phase space via creation and annihilation operators, both the usual and $q$-deformed, is investigated. We found that the Bopp-Kubo formulation is just non-commuting coordinates representation of the symbol calculus. The Wigner operator for the $q$-deformed harmonic oscillator is shown to be proportional to the 3-axis spherical angular momentum operator of the algebra $su_{q}(2)$. The relation of the Fock space for the harmonic oscillator and double Hilbert space of the Gelfand-Naimark-Segal construction is established. The quantum extension of the classical ergodiicity condition is proposed.

Functional Approach to Phase Space Formulation of Quantum Mechanics

We present BRST gauge fixing approach to quantum mechanics in phase space. The theory is obtained by $\hbar$-deformation of the cohomological classical mechanics described by d=1, N=2 model. We use the extended phase space supplied by the path integral formulation with $\hbar$-deformed symplectic structure.
