Quasinormal frequencies of the Dirac field in the massless topological black hole

Motivated by the recent computations of the quasinormal frequencies of higher dimensional black holes we exactly calculate the quasinormal frequencies of the Dirac field propagating in D-dimensional (D > 4) massless topological black hole. From the exact values of the quasinormal frequencies for the fermion and boson fields we discuss whether the recently proposed bound on the relaxation time of a perturbed thermodynamical system is satisfied in D-dimensional massless topological black hole. Also we study the consequences of these results.

Area spectrum of the D-dimensional de Sitter spacetime

The determination of the quantum area spectrum of a black hole horizon by means of its asymptotic quasinormal frequencies has been explored recently. We believe that for D-dimensional de Sitter horizon we must study if the idea works. Thus taking into account the local description of the thermodynamics of horizons proposed by Padmanabhan and the results of Hod, Kunstatter, and Maggiore we study the area spectrum of the D-dimensional de Sitter horizon.

The Dirac equation in D-dimensional spherically symmetric spacetimes

We expound in detail a method frequently used to reduce the Dirac equation in D-dimensional (D >= 4) spherically symmetric spacetimes to a pair of coupled partial differential equations in two variables. As a simple application of these results we exactly calculate the quasinormal frequencies of the uncharged Dirac field propagating in the D-dimensional Nariai spacetime.

Dirac quasinormal modes of D-dimensional de Sitter spacetime

We find exact solutions to the Dirac equation in D-dimensional de Sitter spacetime. Using these solutions we analytically calculate the de Sitter quasinormal (QN) frequencies of the Dirac field. For the massive Dirac field this computation is similar to that previously published for massive fields of half-integer spin moving in four dimensions. However to calculate the QN frequencies of the massless Dirac field we must use distinct methods in odd and even dimensions, therefore the computation is different from that already known for other massless fields of integer spin.
