On the harmonic oscillator realisation of q-oscillators

The general version of the bosonic harmonic oscillator realisation of bosonic q-oscillators is given. It is shown that the currently known realisation is a special case of our general solution. The investigation has been performed at the Laboratory of theoretical Physics,JINR.

Heterotic geometry without isometries

We present some properties of hyperkahler torsion (or heterotic) geometry in four dimensions that make it even more tractable than its hyperkahler counterpart. We show that in $d=4$ hypercomplex structures and weak torsion hyperkahler geometries are the same. We present two equivalent formalisms describing such spaces, they are stated in the propositions of section 1. The first is reduced to solve a non-linear system for a doublet of potential functions, first found by Plebanski and Finley. The second is equivalent to finding the solutions of a quadratic Ashtekar-Jacobson-Smolin like system, but without a volume preserving condition. This is why heterotic spaces are simpler than usual hyperkahler ones. We also analyze the strong version of this geometry. Certain examples are presented, some of them are metrics of the Callan-Harvey-Strominger type and others are not. In the conclusion we discuss the benefits and disadvantages of both formulations in detail.

On R-matrix representations of Birman-Murakami-Wenzl algebras

We show that to every local representation of the Birman-Murakami-Wenzl algebra defined by a skew-invertible R-matrix $R\in Aut(V\otimes V)$ one can associate pairings $V\otimes V\to C$ and $V^*\otimes V^*\to C$, where V is the representation space. Further, we investigate conditions under which the corresponding quantum group is of SO or Sp type.

Deformed Traces and Covariant Quantum Algebras for Quantum Groups $GL_{qp}(2)$ and $GL_{qp}(1|1)$

The q-deformed traces and orbits for the two parametric quantum groups $GL_{qp}(2)$ and $GL_{qp}(1|1)$ are defined. They are subsequently used in the construction of $q$-orbit invariants for these groups. General $qp$-(super)oscillator commutation relations are obtained which remain invariant under the coactions of groups $GL_{qp}(2)$ and $GL_{qp}(1|1)$. The $GL_{qp}(2)$ covariant deformed algebra is deduced in terms of the bilinears of bosonic $qp$-oscillators which turns out to be a central extension of the Witten-type deformation of $sl(2)$ algebra. In the case of the supergroup $GL_{qp}(1|1)$, the corresponding covariant algebras contain $N = 2$ supersymmetric quantum mechanical subalgebras.

Multi-loop Feynman integrals and conformal quantum mechanics

New algebraic approach to analytical calculations of D-dimensional integrals for multi-loop Feynman diagrams is proposed. We show that the known analytical methods of evaluation of multi-loop Feynman integrals, such as integration by parts and star-triangle relation methods, can be drastically simplified by using this algebraic approach. To demonstrate the advantages of the algebraic method of analytical evaluation of multi-loop Feynman diagrams, we calculate ladder diagrams for the massless $ϕ^3$ theory. Using our algebraic approach we show that the problem of evaluation of special classes of Feynman diagrams reduces to the calculation of the Green functions for specific quantum mechanical problems. In particular, the integrals for ladder massless diagrams in the $ϕ^3$ scalar field theory are given by the Green function for the conformal quantum mechanics.

Quantum matrix algebra for the SU(n) WZNW model

The zero modes of the chiral SU(n) WZNW model give rise to an intertwining quantum matrix algebra A generated by an n x n matrix a=(a^i_α) (with noncommuting entries) and by rational functions of n commuting elements q^{p_i}. We study a generalization of the Fock space (F) representation of A for generic q (q not a root of unity) and demonstrate that it gives rise to a model of the quantum universal enveloping algebra U_q(sl_n), each irreducible representation entering F with multiplicity 1. For an integer level k the complex parameter q is an even root of unity, q^h=-1 (h=k+n) and the algebra A has an ideal I_h such that the factor algebra A_h = A/I_h is finite dimensional.

Discretized Yang-Mills and Born-Infeld actions on finite group geometries

Discretized nonabelian gauge theories living on finite group spaces G are defined by means of a geometric action \int Tr F \wedge *F. This technique is extended to obtain discrete versions of the Born-Infeld action. The discretizations are in 1-1 correspondence with differential calculi on finite groups. A consistency condition for duality invariance of the discretized field equations is derived for discretized U(1) actions S[F] living on a 4-dimensional abelian G. Discretized electromagnetism satisfies this condition and therefore admits duality rotations. Yang-Mills and Born-Infeld theories are also considered on product spaces M^D x G, and we find the corresponding field theories on M^D after Kaluza-Klein reduction on the G discrete internal spaces. We examine in some detail the case G=Z_N, and discuss the limit N -> \infty. A self-contained review on the noncommutative differential geometry of finite groups is included.

On the Fedosov Deformation Quantization beyond the Regular Poisson Manifolds

A simple iterative procedure is suggested for the deformation quantization of (irregular) Poisson brackets associated to the classical Yang-Baxter equation. The construction is shown to admit a pure algebraic reformulation giving the Universal Deformation Formula (UDF) for any triangular Lie bialgebra. A simple proof of classification theorem for inequivalent UDF's is given. As an example the explicit quantization formula is presented for the quasi-homogeneous Poisson brackets on two-plane.

Generalized Grassmann Algebras and its Connection to the Extended Supersymmetric Models

It is shown that the fermionic Heisenberg-Weyl algebra with 2N=D fermionic generators is equivalent to the generalized Grassmann algebra with two fractional generators. The 2,3 and 4 dimensional Heisenberg - Weyl algebra is explicitly given in terms of the fractional generators. These algebras are used for the formulation of the N=2,3,4 extended supersymmetry. As an example we reformulate the Lax approach of the supersymmetric Korteweg - de Vries equation in terms of the generators of the generalized Grassmann algebra.

BRST operator for quantum Lie algebras and differential calculus on quantum groups

For a Hopf algebra A, we define the structures of differential complexes on two dual exterior Hopf algebras: 1) an exterior extension of A and 2) an exterior extension of the dual algebra A^*. The Heisenberg double of these two exterior Hopf algebras defines the differential algebra for the Cartan differential calculus on A. The first differential complex is an analog of the de Rham complex. In the situation when A^* is a universal enveloping of a Lie (super)algebra the second complex coincides with the standard complex. The differential is realized as an (anti)commutator with a BRST- operator Q. A recurrent relation which defines uniquely the operator Q is given. The BRST and anti-BRST operators are constructed explicitly and the Hodge decomposition theorem is formulated for the case of the quantum Lie algebra U_q(gl(N)).

Diffusion algebras

We define the notion of "diffusion algebras". They are quadratic Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt (PBW) algebras which are useful in order to find exact expressions for the probability distributions of stationary states appearing in one-dimensional stochastic processes with exclusion. One considers processes in which one has N species, the number of particles of each species being conserved. All diffusion algebras are obtained. The known examples already used in applications are special cases in our classification. To help the reader interested in physical problems, the cases N=3 and 4 are listed separately.

Brane Vacuum as Chain of Rotators

We analyse the noncommutative U(1) sigma model, which arises from the vacuum dynamics of the noncommutative charged tachyonic field. The sector of ``spherically symmetric'' excitations of the model is equivalent to a chain of rotators. Classical solutions for this model are found, which are static and ``spherically symmetric'' in noncommutative spatial dimensions. The limit of small noncommutativity reveals the presence of Polyakov vortices in the model. A generalisation of the model to q-deformed space, which may serve as a regularisation of the non-deformed model is also considered.

On quantization of r-matrices for Belavin-Drinfeld Triples

We suggest a formula for quantum universal $R$-matrices corresponding to quasitriangular classical $r$-matrices classified by Belavin and Drinfeld for all simple Lie algebras. The $R$-matrices are obtained by twisting the standard universal $R$-matrix.

Standard Complex for Quantum Lie Algebras

For a quantum Lie algebra $Γ$, let $Γ^\wedge$ be its exterior extension (the algebra $Γ^\wedge$ is canonically defined). We introduce a differential on the exterior extension algebra $Γ^\wedge$ which provides the structure of a complex on $Γ^{\wedge}$. In the situation when $Γ$ is a usual Lie algebra this complex coincides with the "standard complex". The differential is realized as a commutator with a (BRST) operator $Q$ in a larger algebra $Γ^\wedge[Ω]$, with extra generators canonically conjugated to the exterior generators of $Γ^{\wedge}$. A recurrent relation which defines uniquely the operator $Q$ is given.

Cayley-Hamilton-Newton identities and quasitriangular Hopf algebras

In the framework of the Drinfeld theory of twists in Hopf algebras we construct quantum matrix algebras which generalize the Reflection Equation and the RTT algebras. Finite-dimensional representations of these algebras related to the theory of nonultralocal spin chains are presented. The Cayley-Hamilton-Newton identities are demonstrated. These identities allow to define the quantum spectrum for the quantum matrices. We mention possible applications of the new quantum matrix algebras to constructions of noncommutative analogs of Minkowski space and quantum Poincaré algebras.

Modified Affine Hecke Algebras and Drinfeldians of Type A

We introduce a modified affine Hecke algebra $\h{H}^{+}_{qη}({l})$ ($\h{H}_{qη}({l})$) which depends on two deformation parameters $q$ and $η$. When the parameter $η$ is equal to zero the algebra $\h{H}_{qη=0}(l)$ coincides with the usual affine Hecke algebra $\h{H}_{q}(l)$ of type $A_{l-1}$, if the parameter q goes to 1 the algebra $\h{H}^{+}_{q=1η}(l)$ is isomorphic to the degenerate affine Hecke algebra $\Lm_η(l)$ introduced by Drinfeld. We construct a functor from a category of representations of $H_{qη}^{+}(l)$ into a category of representations of Drinfeldian $D_{qη}(sl(n+1))$ which has been introduced by the first author.
