Josephson current through a quantum dot with spin-orbit coupling

The equilibrium Josephson current through a nanoscale multi-level quantum dot with Rashba or Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling $α$ has been computed. The critical current can be drastically modified already by moderate $α$. In the presence of a Zeeman field, Datta-Das-like oscillatory dependencies on $α$ are predicted.

Phonon Squeezing in a Superconducting Molecular Transistor

Josephson transport through a single molecule or carbon nanotube is considered in the presence of a local vibrational mode coupled to the electronic charge. The ground-state solution is obtained exactly in the limit of a large superconducting gap, and is extended to the general case by variational analysis. Coherent charge fluctuations are entangled with non-classical phonon states. The Josephson current induces squeezing of the phonon mode, which is controlled by the superconducting phase difference and by the junction asymmetry. Optical probes of non-classical phonon states are briefly discussed.

Superconducting transport through a vibrating molecule

Nonequilibrium electronic transport through a molecular level weakly coupled to a single coherent phonon/vibration mode has been studied for superconducting leads. The Keldysh Green function formalism is used to compute the current for the entire bias voltage range. In the subgap regime, Multiple Andreev Reflection (MAR) processes accompanied by phonon emission cause rich structure near the onset of MAR channels, including an even-odd parity effect that can be interpreted in terms of an inelastic MAR ladder picture. Thereby we establish a connection between the Keldysh formalism and the Landauer scattering approach for inelastic MAR.

Dynamics and phonon-induced decoherence of Andreev level qubit

We present detailed theory for Andreev level qubit, the system consisting of a highly transmissive quantum point contact embedded in a superconducting loop. The two-level Hamiltonian for Andreev levels interacting with quantum phase fluctuations is derived by using the path integral method. We also derive kinetic equation describing qubit decoherence due to interaction of the Andreev levels with acoustic phonons. The collision terms are non-linear due to fermionic nature of the Andreev states, leading to slow non-exponential relaxation and dephasing of the qubit at temperature smaller than the qubit level spacing.

Andreev Level Qubit

We investigate the dynamics of a two-level Andreev bound state system in a transmissive quantum point contact embedded in an rf-SQUID. Coherent coupling of the Andreev levels to the circulating supercurrent allows manipulation and read out of the level states. The two-level Hamiltonian for the Andreev levels is derived, and the effect of interaction with the quantum fluctuations of the induced flux is studied. We also consider an inductive coupling of qubits, and discuss the relevant SQUID parameters for qubit operation and read out.
