Atiyah class and Chern character for global matrix factorizations

We define the Atiyah class for global matrix factorizations and use it to give a formula for the categorical Chern character and the boundary-bulk map for matrix factorizations, generalizing the formula in the local case obtained in arXiv:1002.2116. Our approach is based on developing the Lie algebra analogies observed by Kapranov alg-geom/9704009 and Markarian math/0610553.

Bondal-Orlov Fully Faithfulness Criterion for Deligne-Mumford Stacks

Suppose $F\colon \mathcal{D}(X)\to \mathcal{T}$ is an exact functor from the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on a smooth projective variety $X$ to a triangulated category $\mathcal{T}$. If $F$ possesses left and right adjoints, then the Bondal-Orlov criterion gives a simple way of determining if $F$ is fully faithful. We prove a natural extension to the case when $X$ is a smooth and proper DM stack with projective coarse moduli space.

Homological mirror symmetry for higher dimensional pairs of pants

Using Auroux's description of Fukaya categories of symmetric products of punctured surfaces, we compute the partially wrapped Fukaya category of the complement of $k+1$ generic hyperplanes in $\mathbb{CP}^n$, for $k \geq n$, with respect to certain stops in terms of the endomorphism algebra of a generating set of objects. The stops are chosen so that the resulting algebra is formal. In the case of the complement of $(n+2)$-generic hyperplanes in $\mathbb{C}P^n$ ($n$-dimensional pair-of-pants), we show that our partial wrapped Fukaya category is equivalent to a certain categorical resolution of the derived category of the singular affine variety $x_1x_2..x_{n+1}=0$. By localizing, we deduce that the (fully) wrapped Fukaya category of $n$-dimensional pants is equivalent to the derived category of $x_1x_2...x_{n+1}=0$. We also prove similar equivalences for finite abelian covers of the $n$-dimensional pair-of-pants.

$A_\infty$-structures associated with pairs of 1-spherical objects and noncommutative orders over curves

We show that pairs $(X,Y)$ of 1-spherical objects in $A_\infty$-categories, such that the morphism space ${\rm Hom}(X,Y)$ is concentrated in degree 0, can be described by certain noncommutative orders over (possibly stacky) curves. In fact, we establish a more precise correspondence at the level of isomorphism of moduli spaces which we show to be affine schemes of finite type over ${\Bbb Z}$.

Semiorthogonal decompositions of equivariant derived categories of invariant divisors

Given a smooth variety $X$ with an action of a finite group $G$, and a semiorthogonal decomposition of the derived category, $\mathcal{D}([X/G])$, of $G$-equivariant coherent sheaves on $X$ into subcategories equivalent to derived categories of smooth varieties, we construct a similar semiorthogonal decomposition for a smooth $G$-invariant divisor in $X$ (under certain technical assumptions). Combining this procedure with the semiorthogonal decompositions constructed in [PV15], we construct semiorthogonal decompositions of some equivariant derived categories of smooth projective varieties.

Derived equivalences of gentle algebras via Fukaya categories

Following the approach of Haiden-Katzarkov-Kontsevich arXiv:1409.8611, to any homologically smooth graded gentle algebra $A$ we associate a triple $(Σ_A, Λ_A; η_A)$, where $Σ_A$ is an oriented smooth surface with non-empty boundary, $Λ_A$ is a set of stops on $\partial Σ_A$ and $η_A$ is a line field on $Σ_A$, such that the derived category of perfect dg-modules of $A$ is equivalent to the partially wrapped Fukaya category of $(Σ_A, Λ_A ;η_A)$. Modifying arguments of Johnson and Kawazumi, we classify the orbit decomposition of the action of the (symplectic) mapping class group of $Σ_A$ on the homotopy classes of line fields. As a result we obtain a sufficient criterion for homologically smooth graded gentle algebras to be derived equivalent. Our criterion uses numerical invariants generalizing those given by Avella-Alaminos-Geiss in math/0607348, as well as some other numerical invariants. As an application, we find many new cases when the AAG-invariants determine the derived Morita class. As another application, we establish some derived equivalences between the stacky nodal curves considered in arXiv:1705.06023.

Hyperelliptic limits of quadrics through canonical curves and ribbons

We describe explicitly all hyperelliptic limits of quadrics through smooth canonical curves of genus $g$ in ${\mathbb P}^{g-1}$. Also, we construct an open embedding of the blow up of a ${\rm PGL}_g$-bundle over the moduli space of curves of genus $g$ along the hyperelliptic locus into the blow up of the canonical Hilbert scheme of ${\mathbb P}^{g-1}$ along the closure of the locus of canonical ribbons, which are certain double thickenings of rational normal curves introduced and studied by Bayer and Eisenbud.

Shifted Poisson structures and moduli spaces of complexes

In this paper we study the moduli stack of complexes of vector bundles (with chain isomorphisms) over a smooth projective variety $X$ via derived algebraic geometry. We prove that if $X$ is a Calabi-Yau variety of dimension $d$ then this moduli stack has a $(1-d)$-shifted Poisson structure. In the case $d=1$, we construct a natural foliation of the moduli stack by $0$-shifted symplectic substacks. We show that our construction recovers various known Poisson structures associated to complex elliptic curves, including the Poisson structure on Hilbert scheme of points on elliptic quantum projective planes studied by Nevins and Stafford, and the Poisson structures on the moduli spaces of stable triples over an elliptic curves considered by one of us. We also relate the latter Poisson structures to the semi-classical limits of the elliptic Sklyanin algebras studied by Feigin and Odesskii.

Associative Yang-Baxter equation and Fukaya categories of square-tiled surfaces

We show that all strongly non-degenerate trigonometric solutions of the associative Yang-Baxter equation (AYBE) can be obtained from triple Massey products in the Fukaya category of square-tiled surfaces. Along the way, we give a classification result for cyclic $A_\infty$-algebra structures on a certain Frobenius algebra associated with a pair of 1-spherical objects in terms of the equivalence classes of the corresponding solutions of the AYBE. As an application, combining our results with homological mirror symmetry for punctured tori (cf. arXiv:1601.06141), we prove that any two simple vector bundles on a cycle of projective lines are related by a sequence of 1-spherical twists and their inverses.

Birational models of ${\mathcal M}_{2,2}$ arising as moduli of curves with nonspecial divisors

We study birational projective models of ${\mathcal M}_{2,2}$ obtained from the moduli space of curves with nonspecial divisors. We describe geometrically which singular curves appear in these models and show that one of them is obtained by blowing down the Weierstrass divisor in the moduli stack of ${\mathcal Z}$-stable curves $\overline{\mathcal M}_{2,2}({\mathcal Z})$ defined by Smyth. As a corollary, we prove projectivity of the coarse moduli space $\overline{M}_{2,2}({\mathcal Z})$.

Auslander orders over nodal stacky curves and partially wrapped Fukaya categories

It follows from the work of Burban and Drozd arXiv:0905.1231 that for nodal curves $C$, the derived category of modules over the Auslander order $\mathcal{A}_C$ provides a categorical (smooth and proper) resolution of the category of perfect complexes $\mathrm{Perf}(C)$. On the A-side, it follows from the work of Haiden-Katzarkov-Kontsevich arXiv:1409.8611 that for punctured surfaces $X$ with stops $Λ$ at their boundary, the partially wrapped Fukaya category $\mathcal{W}(X,Λ)$ provides a categorical (smooth and proper) resolution of the compact Fukaya category $\mathcal{F}(X)$. Inspired by this analogy, we establish an equivalence between the derived category of modules over the Auslander orders over certain nodal stacky curves and partially wrapped Fukaya categories associated to punctured surfaces of arbitrary genus equipped with stops at their boundary. As an application, we deduce equivalences between derived categories of coherent sheaves (resp. perfect complexes) on such nodal stacky curves and the wrapped (resp. compact) Fukaya categories of punctured surfaces of arbitrary genus.

Fundamental matrix factorization in the FJRW-theory revisited

We present an improved construction of the fundamental matrix factorization in the FJRW-theory given in arXiv:1105.2903. The revised construction is coordinate-free and works for a possibly nonabelian finite group of symmetries. One of the new ingrediants is the category of dg-matrix factorizations over a dg-scheme.

Shifted Poisson geometry and meromorphic matrix algebras over an elliptic curve

In this paper we classify symplectic leaves of the regular part of the projectivization of the space of meromorphic endomorphisms of a stable vector bundle on an elliptic curve, using the study of shifted Poisson structures on the moduli of complexes from our previous work \cite{HP17}. This Poisson ind-scheme is closely related to the ind Poisson-Lie group associated to Belavin's elliptic $r$-matrix, studied by Sklyanin, Cherednik and Reyman and Semenov-Tian-Shansky. Our result leads to a classification of symplectic leaves on the regular part of meromorphic matrix algebras over an elliptic curve, which can be viewed as the Lie algebra of the above-mentioned ind Poisson-Lie group. We also describe the decomposition of the product of leaves under the multiplication morphism and show the invariance of Poisson structures under autoequivalences of the derived category of coherent sheaves on an elliptic curve.

NC-smooth algebroid thickenings for families of vector bundles and quiver representations

In his work on deformation quantization of algebraic varieties Kontsevich introduced the notion of algebroid as a certain generalization of a sheaf of algebras. We construct algebroids which are given locally by NC-smooth thickenings in the sense of Kapranov, over two classes of smooth varieties: the bases of miniversal families of vector bundles on projective curves, and the bases of miniversal families of quiver representations.

Moduli spaces of nonspecial pointed curves of arithmetic genus 1

In this paper we study the moduli stack ${\mathcal U}_{1,n}^{ns}$ of curves of arithmetic genus 1 with n marked points, forming a nonspecial divisor. In arXiv:1511.03797 this stack was realized as the quotient of an explicit scheme $\widetilde{\mathcal U}_{1,n}^{ns}$, affine of finite type over ${\Bbb P}^{n-1}$, by the action of ${\Bbb G}_m^n$ . Our main result is an explicit description of the corresponding GIT semistable loci in $\widetilde{\mathcal U}_{1,n}^{ns}$. This allows us to identify some of the GIT quotients with some of the modular compactifications of ${\mathcal M}_{1,n}$ defined by Smyth in arXiv:0902.3690 and arXiv:0808.0177.

Semiorthogonal decompositions of the categories of equivariant coherent sheaves for some reflection groups

We consider the derived category of coherent sheaves on a complex vector space equivariant with respect to an action of a finite reflection group G. In some cases, including Weyl groups of type A, B, G_2, F_4, as well as the groups G(m,1,n), we construct a semiorthogonal decomposition of this category, indexed by the conjugacy classes of G. The pieces of this decompositions are equivalent to the derived categories of coherent sheaves on the quotient-spaces V^g/C(g), where C(g) is the centralizer subgroup of g in G. In the case of the Weyl groups the construction uses some key results about the Springer correspondence, due to Lusztig, along with some formality statement generalizing a result of Deligne. We also construct global analogs of some of these semiorthogonal decompositions involving derived categories of equivariant coherent sheaves on C^n, where C is a smooth curve.

Moduli of curves as moduli of A-infinity structures

We define and study the stack ${\mathcal U}^{ns,a}_{g,g}$ of (possibly singular) projective curves of arithmetic genus g with g smooth marked points forming an ample non-special divisor. We define an explicit closed embedding of a natural ${\mathbb G}_m^g$-torsor over ${\mathcal U}^{ns,a}_{g,g}$ into an affine space and give explicit equations of the universal curve (away from characteristics 2 and 3). This construction can be viewed as a generalization of the Weierstrass cubic and the j-invariant of an elliptic curve to the case g>1. Our main result is that in characteristics different from 2 and 3 our moduli space of non-special curves is isomorphic to the moduli space of minimal A-infinity structures on a certain finite-dimensional graded associative algebra $E_g$ (introduced in arXiv:1208.6332). We show how to compute explicitly the A-infinity structure associated with a curve $(C,p_1,...,p_g)$ in terms of certain canonical generators of the algebra of functions on $C-\{p_1,...,p_g\}$ and canonical formal parameters at the marked points. We study the GIT quotients associated with our representation of ${\mathcal U}^{ns,a}_{g,g}$ as the quotient of an affine scheme by ${\mathbb G}_m^g$ and show that some of the corresponding stack quotients give modular compactifications of ${\mathcal M}_{g,g}$ in the sense of arXiv:0902.3690. We also consider an analogous picture for curves of arithmetic genus 0 with n marked points which gives a new presentation of the moduli space of $ψ$-stable curves (also known as Boggi-stable curves) and its interpretation in terms of $A_\infty$-structures.
