On the stochastic Strichartz estimates and the stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on a compact riemannian manifold

We prove the existence and the uniqueness of a solution to the stochastic NSLE on a two-dimensional compact riemannian manifold. Thus we generalize a recent work by Burq, Gérard and Tzvetkov in the deterministic setting, and a series of papers by de Bouard and Debussche, who have examined similar questions in the case of the flat euclidean space with random perturbation. We prove the existence and the uniqueness of a local maximal solution to stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equations with multiplicative noise on a compact d-dimensional riemannian manifold. Under more regularity on the noise, we prove that the solution is global when the nonlinearity is of defocusing or of focusing type, d=2 and the initial data belongs to the finite energy space. Our proof is based on improved stochastic Strichartz inequalities.

Inviscid Large deviation principle and the 2D Navier Stokes equations with a free boundary condition

Using a weak convergence approach, we prove a LPD for the solution of 2D stochastic Navier Stokes equations when the viscosity converges to 0 and the noise intensity is multiplied by the square root of the viscosity. Unlike previous results on LDP for hydrodynamical models, the weak convergence is proven by tightness properties of the distribution of the solution in appropriate functional spaces.

On the splitting method for some complex-valued quasilinear equations

Using the approach of the splitting method developed by I. Gyöngy and N. Krylov for parabolic quasi linear equations, we study the speed of convergence for general complex-valued stochastic evolution equations. The approximation is given in general Sobolev spaces and the model considered here contains both the parabolic quasi-linear equations under some (non strict) stochastic parabolicity condition as well as linear Schrödinger equations

Stochastic 2D hydrodynamical systems: Wong-Zakai approximation and Support theorem

We deal with a class of abstract nonlinear stochastic models with multiplicative noise, which covers many 2D hydrodynamical models including the 2D Navier-Stokes equations, 2D MHD models and 2D magnetic Bénard problems as well as some shell models of turbulence. Our main result describes the support of the distribution of solutions. Both inclusions are proved by means of a general Wong-Zakai type result of convergence in probability for non linear stochastic PDEs driven by a Hilbert-valued Brownian motion and some adapted finite dimensional approximation of this process.

Large deviation principle and inviscid shell models

A LDP is proved for the inviscid shell model of turbulence. As the viscosity coefficient converges to 0 and the noise intensity is multiplied by the square root of the viscosity, we prove that some shell models of turbulence with a multiplicative stochastic perturbation driven by a H-valued Brownian motion satisfy a LDP in C([0,T],V) for the topology of uniform convergence on [0,T], but where V is endowed with a topology weaker than the natural one. The initial condition has to belong to V and the proof is based on the weak convergence of a family of stochastic control equations. The rate function is described in terms of the solution to the inviscid equation.

Stochastic 2D hydrodynamical type systems: Well posedness and large deviations

We deal with a class of abstract nonlinear stochastic models, which covers many 2D hydrodynamical models including 2D Navier-Stokes equations, 2D MHD models and 2D magnetic Bénard problem and also some shell models of turbulence. We first prove the existence and uniqueness theorem for the class considered. Our main result is a Wentzell-Freidlin type large deviation principle for small multiplicative noise which we prove by weak convergence method.

Large deviations for the Boussinesq Equations under Random Influences

A Boussinesq model for the Benard convection under random influences is considered as a system of stochastic partial differential equations. This is a coupled system of stochastic Navier-Stokes equations and the transport equation for temperature. Large deviations are proved, using a weak convergence approach based on a variational representation of functionals of infinite dimensional Brownian motion.

Rate of Convergence of Space Time Approximations for stochastic evolution equations

Stochastic evolution equations in Banach spaces with unbounded nonlinear drift and diffusion operators driven by a finite dimensional Brownian motion are considered. Under some regularity condition assumed for the solution, the rate of convergence of various numerical approximations are estimated under strong monotonicity and Lipschitz conditions. The abstract setting involves general consistency conditions and is then applied to a class of quasilinear stochastic PDEs of parabolic type.

On implicit and explicit discretization schemes for parabolic SPDEs in any dimension

We study the speed of convergence of the explicit and implicit space-time discretization schemes of the solution $u(t,x)$ to a parabolic partial differential equation in any dimension perturbed by a space-correlated Gaussian noise. The coefficients only depend on $u(t,x)$ and the influence of the correlation on the speed is observed.

On strongly Petrovskii's parabolic SPDEs in arbitrary dimension and the stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equation

In this paper we show that the Cahn-Hilliard stochastic SPDE has a function valued solution in dimension 4 and 5 when the perturbation is driven by a space-correlated Gaussian noise. This is done proving general results on SPDEs with globally Lipschitz coefficients associated with operators on smooth domains of $\mathbb{R}^d$ which are parabolic in the sense of Petrovskii}, and do not necessarily define a semi-group of operators. We study the regularity of the trajectories of the solutions and the absolute continuity of the law at some given time and position.

Rate of Convergence of Implicit Approximations for stochastic evolution equations

Stochastic evolution equations in Banach spaces with unbounded nonlinear drift and diffusion operators are considered. Under some regularity condition assumed for the solution, the rate of convergence of implicit Euler approximations is estimated under strong monotonicity and Lipschitz conditions. The results are applied to a class of quasilinear stochastic PDEs of parabolic type.

Approximation of rough paths of fractional Brownian motion

We consider a geometric rough path associated with a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H\in]{1/4}, {1/2}[$. We give an approximation result in a modulus type distance, up to the second order, by means of a sequence of rough paths lying above elements of the reproducing kernel Hilbert space.

Large deviations for rough paths of the fractional Brownian motion

Starting from the construction of a geometric rough path associated with a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H\in]{1/4}, {1/2}[$ given by Coutin and Qian (2002), we prove a large deviation principle in the space of geometric rough paths, extending classical results on Gaussian processes. As a by-product, geometric rough paths associated to elements of the reproducing kernel Hilbert space of the fractional Brownian motion are obtained and an explicit integral representation is given.

Approximation and support theorem for a two space-dimensional wave equation

We prove a characterization of the support of the law of the solution for a stochastic wave equation with two-dimensional space variable, driven by a noise white in time and correlated in space. The result is a consequence of an approximation theorem, in the convergence of probability, for equations obtained by smoothing the random noise. For some particular classes of coefficients, aproximation in the $L^p$ norm, for $p\geq 1$ is also proved.
