Matter Effects on Mass Square Difference for Four Flavor Neutrino Oscillation

We consider the matter effects on four flavor neutrino oscillation scheme (3+1). In presence of sterile neutrino, the simplest four flavor neutrino mixing there are six mixing angles and three Dirac CP phases. In this paper, we discuss about the sensitivity of mass square difference effects Delta21, Delta31, and Delta41 in the matter. We find that in presence of sterile neutrino for four flavor mixing framework, only solar mass square difference Delta21 and atmospheric neutrino mass square difference Delta31 change for different values of Dirac phases and energy. There is no change of sterile neutrino mass square differences. In this letter, we study the matter effects on neutrino mass square differences Delta21, Delta31, and Delta41 and calculate the percentage change with respect to the mass square difference in the matter by varying energy for four flavor framework.

Neutrino Mass Eigenvalues for Different Scheme within Four Flavor Neutrino framework

In this paper, we discuss neutrino mass eigenvalues for four flavor neutrino mixing. An extra mass states, in four flavor mixing and possible various combination of CP violating Majorana phases effects the neutrino mass eigenvalues. We have considered the effective Majorana mass m_{e}, related for \,\left(ββ\right)_{0ν\,} decay. In calculation, we consider two different neutrino mass orders, normal and inverted. We find the limits for neutrino mass eigenvalue m_{i} in the different neutrino mass spectrum and the sum of all four neutrino masses is \text{Σ}\text{\ensuremath{\equiv}}m_{1}+m_{2}+m_{3}+m_{4}>1.3\,eV\, which is relevant for cosmological observations and explain the different neutrino oscillations data.

Large Changes of Atmospheric Mixing Angle $θ_{23}$ with Four Flavor Mixing from Planck Scale Effects

We consider the effects of Planck scale on four flavour neutrino mixings. The gravational interaction at $M_{x}=M_{\rm planck}$, we find that for degenerate neurino mass order, the Planck scale effects changes the mixing angle $θ'_{23}$, $θ'_{12}$ values and $θ'_{13}$, $θ'_{14}$, $θ'_{34}$, $θ'_{24}$ are unchanged above the GUT scale. In this paper, we study neutrino mixing in four flavor above the GUT scale.

Spectrum of Landau Levels in GaAs Quantum Wells

We have studied the optical and electrical spectra from an n i p LED as a function of magnetic field. This sample incorporated three GaAs quantum wells in the intrinsic region. This device had excess n type doping and as a result. The quantum wells were populated by a two dimension Landau electron gas. The broad B0 field emission band evolved into a series of discrete features in the presence of a magnetic field. These were identified as interband transitions between the different values of l. Landau levels associated with the sub-bands, with the selection rule. An energy splitting between the two polarised components was observed for each Landau level transition. This was found to be equal to the sum of the conduction and valence band spin splittings. We used the know value of electron g factor to determine the valence band spin splittings. Our experimental values were compared to the numerically calculated values and were found to be in reasonable agreement.

Neutrino Mass Spectrum for Co-Bimaximal Mixings from Quantum Gravity

We consider non-renormalizable interaction term as a perturbation of the conventional neutrino mass matrix. Quantum gravitational (Planck scale )effects lead to an effective $SU(2)_L\times U(1)$ invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian involving neutrino and Higgs fields,On symmetry breaking, this operator gives rise to correction to the neutrino masses and mixing. The gravitational interaction $M_X=M_{pl}$ which gives rise to additional terms in neutrino mass matrix. We also assume that, just above the electroweak breaking scale, neutrino masses are nearly degenerate and their mixing is Co-bimaximal mixing by assuming mixing angle $θ_{13}\neq0 = 10^{o}$, $θ_{23}=\fracπ{4}$, $\tanθ_{12}^ 2 = \frac{1-3sinθ_{13}^2}{2} = 34^{o}$ and Dirac phase $δ=\pm\fracπ{2}$.There additional term can be considered to be perturbation of the GUT scale Co-bimaximal neutrino mass matrix. The relation consider with solar and atmospheric neutrino oscillation data predicted above GUT scale $m_1' \simeq 0.00001eV-0.00003eV$, $m_2' \simeq 0.00008eV-0.00012$, and $m_3' \simeq 0.000207eV-000320eV$.

Quantum Gravity on Neutrino Mass Square difference

We consider non-renormalizable interaction term as a perturbation of the neutrino mass matrix. We assume that the neutrino masses and mixing arise through physics at a scale intermediate between Planck scale and the electroweak breaking scale. We also assume that, just above the electroweak breaking scale, neutrino masses are nearly degenerate and their mixing is bi-maximal. Quantum gravity (Planck scale effects) lead to an effective SU(2)_{L}\times U(1) invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian involving neutrino and Higgs fields. On symmetry breaking, this operator gives rise to correction to the above masses and mixing. The gravitational interaction M_{X}=M_{pl}, we find that for degenerate neutrino mass spectrum, the considered perturbation term change the Δ_{21}^{'}and Δ_{31}^{'}mass square difference is unchanged above GUT scale. The nature of gravitational interaction demands that the element of this perturbation matrix should be independent of flavor indices. In this letter, we study the quantum gravity effects on neutrino mass square difference, namely modified dispersion relation for neutrino mass square differences..

Electric Dipole Moment and Neutrino Mixing due to Planck Scale Effects

In this paper, we consider the effect of Planck scale operators on electric dipole moment of the electron de. The electric dipole moment of the electron, de is known to vanish up to three loops in the standard model with massless neutrinos We consider the Planck scale operator on neutrino mixing. We assume that the neutrino masses and mixing arise through physics at a scale intermediate between Planck scale and the electroweak braking scale. We also assume, that just above the electroweak breaking scale neutrino mass are nearly degenerate and the mixing is bi-maximal. Quantum gravity (Planck scale) effects lead to an effective SU(2)_{L}\times U(1) invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian symmetry involving Standard Model. On electroweak symmetry breaking, this operator gives rise to correction to the neutrino masses and mixings these additional terms can be considered as perturbation to the bimaximal neutrino mass matrix We assume that the gravitational interaction is flavour blind and we study the neutrino mixing and electric dipole moment due to the Planck scale effects.

Determining the Sign of Δ_{31} by Future Long Baseline and Reactor Experiments

We study the determination of neutrino mass hierarchy, through neutrino experiments within the next ten years. The T2K neutrino oscillation experiment will start in 2009. In the experiment the high intensity ν_μ beam from JHF is directed to Super-Kamiokande (SK) detector 295 km away. The NOνA (off axies neutrino oscillation) experiment is being planned, with the ν_μ beam from Fermi-Lab directed to a site 610km away, which is 0,7,14 milliradian off-axies. Both the above experiments will measure ν_μ\toν_{e} oscillation probability. The double-CHOOZ experiment under construction detects \bar{ν_{e}}s emitted by nuclear reactors both through a near detector (150m) and a far detector (1.05 Km) and measure \bar{ν_{e}}\to\bar{ν_{e}} survival probability. In this paper, we outline a procedure to determine the sign of Δ_{31} from the simulated data of the above experiments.

Relation between CPT Violation in Neutrino masses and mixings

The neutrino parameters determined from the solar neutrino data and the anti-neutrino parameters determined from KamLAND reactor experiment are in good agreement with each other. However, the best fit points of the two sets differ from each other by about $10^{-5}$ eV$^2$ in mass-square differenc and by about $2^\circ$ in the mixing angle. Future solar neutrino and reactor anti-neutrino experiments are likely to reduce the uncertainties in these measurements. This, in turn, can lead to a signal for CPT violation in terms a non-zero difference between neutrino and anti-neutrino parameters. In this paper, we propose a CPT violating mass matrix which can give rise to the above differences in both mass-squared difference and mixing angle and study the constraints imposed by the data on the parameters of the mass matrix.

Neutrino Mixing and Cosmological Constant above GUT Scale

Neutrino mixing lead to a non zero contribution to the cosmological constant. We consider non renormalization $1/M_{x}$ interaction term as a perturbation of the neutrino mass matrix. Neutrino Oscillation Probability from Tri-Bimaximality due to Planck Scale Effects

Current neutrino experimental data on neutrino mixing are well describes by Tri-bi-maximal mixing, which is predicts sin^{2}θ_{12}=1/3,zero U_{e3} and θ_{23}=45^{o}. We consider the planck scale operator on neutrino mixing. We assume that the neutrino masses and mixing arise through physics at a scale intrimediate between planck scale and the electroweak braking scale. We also assume, that just above the electroweak breaking scale neutrino mass are nearly degenerate and the mixing is tri-bi-maximal. Quantum gravity (Planck scale) effects lead to an effective SU(2)_{L}\times U(1) invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian symmetry involving Standard Model. On electroweak symmetry breaking, this operator gives rise to correction to the neutrino masses and mixings these additional terms can be considered as perturbation to the tri-bimaximal neutrino mass matrix. We compute the deviation of the three mixing angles and oscillation probability. We find that the only large change in solar mixing angle and % change in maximum P_{μe} is about 10%.

Nearly Invariance of Jarlskog Determinant due to Planck Scale Effects

An asymmetry between the probabilities P(ν_μ\toν_{e}) and P(\bar{ν_μ}\to\bar{ν_{e}}) would be direct indication of CP violation at the fundamental level. Planck scale effects on neutrino mixing, we have derived the mixing angles of neutrino flavour due to Planck scale effects. It has been shown that Jarlskog determinant remains nearly invariant due to Planck scale effects.

Neutrino mixings and magnetic moments due to Planck scale effects

In this paper, we consider the effect of Planck scale operators on neutrino magnetic moments. We assume that the main part of neutrino masses and mixings arise through GUT scale operators. We further assume that additional discrete symmetries make the neutrino mixing bi-maximal. Quantum gravitational (Planck scale) effects lead to an effective $SU(2)_{L}\times U(1)$ invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian involving neutrino and Higgs fields, which gives rise to additional terms in neutrino mass matrix. These additional terms can be considered to be perturbation of the GUT scale bi-maximal neutrino mass matrix. New Jarlskog determinant from Physics above the GUT Scal

We study the Planck scale effects on Jarlskog determinant. Quantum gravitational (Planck scale) effects lead to an effective SU(2)_{L}\times U(1) invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian involving neutrino and Higgs fields, which gives rise to additional terms in neutrino mass matrix on electroweak symmetry breaking. We assume that gravitational interaction is flavor blind and compute the Jarlskog determinant due to the Planck scale effects. In the case of neutrino sector, the strength of CP violation is measured by Jarlskog determinant. In this paper, we assume CP violation arise from Planck scale effects. We applied our approach to study Jarlskog determinant due to the Planck scale effects.

Deviation from Bimaximality due to Planck scale effects

We consider the effect of Planck scale operators on neutrino mixing. We assume that GUT scale operators give rise to degenerate neutrino masses with bimaximal mixing. Quantum gravity (Planck scale) effects lead to an effective SU(2)L*U(1) invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian involving neutrino and Higgs fields. This gives rise to additional terms in the neutrino mass matrix on electroweak symmetry breaking. These additional terms can be considered as a perturbation to the GUT scale bi-maximal neutrino mass matrix. We assume that the gravitational interaction is flavour blind and compute the deviations of the three neutrino mixing angles due to the Planck scale effects. We find that the changes in theta13, and theta23 are very small but the change in solar mixing angle theta12 can be as large as 3.5 degrees.

Do two flavour oscillations explain both KamLAND data and the Solar Neutrino Spectrum?

The recent measurement of Delta_{sol} by the KamLAND experiment with very small errors, makes definitive predictions for the energy dependence of the solar neutrino survival probability P_{ee}. We fix Delta_{sol} to be the KamLAND best fit value of 8*10^{-5} eV^2 and study the energy dependence of P_{ee} for solar neutrinos in the framework of two flavour oscillations and also of three flavour oscillations. For the case of two flavour oscillations, P_{ee} has a measurable slope in the 5-8 MeV range but the solar spectrum measurements in this range find P_{ee} to be flat. The predicted values of P_{ee}, even for the best fit value of theta_{sol}, differ by 2 to 3 sigma from the Super-K measured values in each of the three energy bins of the 5-8 MeV range. If future measurements of solar neutrinos by Super-K and SNO find a flat spectrum with reduced error bars (by a factor of 2), it will imply that two flavour oscillations can no longer explain both KamLAND data and the solar spectrum. However a flat solar neutrino spectrum and the Delta_{sol} measured by KamLAND can be reconciled in a three flavour oscillation framework with a moderate value of theta_{13} approx 13 degrees.
