Reducibility and bosonization of parasupersymmetric and orthosupersymmetric quantum mechanics

Order-$p$ parasupersymmetric and orthosupersymmetric quantum mechanics are shown to be fully reducible when they are realized in terms of the generators of a generalized deformed oscillator algebra and a ${\rm Z}_{p+1}$-grading structure is imposed on the Fock space. The irreducible components provide $p+1$ sets of bosonized operators corresponding to both unbroken and broken cases. Such a bosonization is minimal.

Connection between type B (or C) and F factorizations and construction of algebras

In a recent paper (Del Sol Mesa A and Quesne C 2000 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 33 4059), we started a systematic study of the connections among different factorization types, suggested by Infeld and Hull, and of their consequences for the construction of algebras. We devised a general procedure for constructing satellite algebras for all the Hamiltonians admitting a type E factorization by using the relationship between type A and E factorizations. Here we complete our analysis by showing that for Hamiltonians admitting a type F factorization, a similar method, starting from either type B or type C ones, leads to other types of algebras. We therefore conclude that the existence of satellite algebras is a characteristic property of type E factorizable Hamiltonians. Our results are illustrated with the detailed discussion of the Coulomb problem.

PT-symmetric non-polynomial oscillators and hyperbolic potential with two known real eigenvalues in a SUSY framework

Extending the supersymmetric method proposed by Tkachuk to the complex domain, we obtain general expressions for superpotentials allowing generation of quasi-exactly solvable PT-symmetric potentials with two known real eigenvalues (the ground state and first-excited state energies). We construct examples, namely those of complexified non-polynomial oscillators and of a complexified hyperbolic potential, to demonstrate how our scheme works in practice. For the former we provide a connection with the sl(2) method, illustrating the comparative advantages of the supersymmetric one.

Creation and annihilation operators and coherent states for the PT-symmetric oscillator

We construct two commuting sets of creation and annihilation operators for the PT-symmetric oscillator. We then build coherent states of the latter as eigenstates of such annihilation operators by employing a modified version of the normalization integral that is relevant to PT-symmetric systems. We show that the coherent states are normalizable only in the range (0, 1) of the underlying coupling parameter $α$.

Generalized Coherent States Associated with the $C_λ$-Extended Oscillator

Two new types of coherent states associated with the $C_λ$-extended oscillator, where $C_λ$ is the cyclic group of order $λ$, are introduced. They satisfy a unity resolution relation in the $C_λ$-extended oscillator Fock space (or in some subspace thereof) and give rise to Bargmann representations of the latter, wherein the generators of the $C_λ$-extended oscillator algebra are realized as differential-operator-valued matrices.

Generalized coherent states associated with the C_λ-extended oscillator

Two new types of coherent states associated with the C_λ-extended oscillator, where C_λ is the cyclic group of order λ, are introduced. The first ones include as special cases both the Barut-Girardello and the Perelomov su(1,1) coherent states for λ=2, as well as the annihilation-operator coherent states of the C_λ-extended oscillator spectrum generating algebra for higher λvalues. The second ones, which are eigenstates of the C_λ-extended oscillator annihilation operator, extend to higher λvalues the paraboson coherent states, to which they reduce for λ=2. All these states satisfy a unity resolution relation in the C_λ-extended oscillator Fock space (or in some subspace thereof). They give rise to Bargmann representations of the latter, wherein the generators of the C_λ-extended oscillator algebra are realized as differential-operator-valued matrices (or differential operators). The statistical and squeezing properties of the new coherent states are investigated over a wide range of parameters and some interesting nonclassical features are exhibited.

Complexified PSUSY and SSUSY interpretations of some PT-symmetric Hamiltonians possessing two series of real energy eigenvalues

We analyze a set of three PT-symmetric complex potentials, namely harmonic oscillator, generalized Poschl-Teller and Scarf II, all of which reveal a double series of energy levels along with the corresponding superpotential. Inspired by the fact that two superpotentials reside naturally in order-two parasupersymmetry (PSUSY) and second-derivative supersymmetry (SSUSY) schemes, we complexify their frameworks to successfully account for the three potentials.

Generating Complex Potentials with Real Eigenvalues in Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics

In the framework of SUSYQM extended to deal with non-Hermitian Hamiltonians, we analyze three sets of complex potentials with real spectra, recently derived by a potential algebraic approach based upon the complex Lie algebra sl(2, C). This extends to the complex domain the well-known relationship between SUSYQM and potential algebras for Hermitian Hamiltonians, resulting from their common link with the factorization method and Darboux transformations. In the same framework, we also generate for the first time a pair of elliptic partner potentials of Weierstrass $\wp$ type, one of them being real and the other imaginary and PT symmetric. The latter turns out to be quasiexactly solvable with one known eigenvalue corresponding to a bound state. When the Weierstrass function degenerates to a hyperbolic one, the imaginary potential becomes PT non-symmetric and its known eigenvalue corresponds to an unbound state.

Para, pseudo, and orthosupersymmetric quantum mechanics and their bosonization

We consider the problem of bosonizing supersymmetric quantum mechanics (SSQM) and some of its variants, i.e., of realizing them in terms of only boson-like operators without fermion-like ones. In the SSQM case, this is realized in terms of the generators of the Calogero-Vasiliev algebra (also termed deformed Heisenberg algebra with reflection). In that of the SSQM variants, this is done by considering generalizations of the latter algebra, namely the $C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras, where $C_λ$ is the cyclic group of order~$λ$.

Spectrum generating algebra and coherent states of the $C_λ$-extended oscillator

$C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras, generalizing the Calogero-Vasiliev algebra, where $C_λ$ is the cyclic group of order $λ$, have recently proved very useful in the context of supersymmetric quantum mechanics and some of its variants. Here we determine the spectrum generating algebra of the $C_λ$-extended oscillator. We then construct its coherent states, study their nonclassical properties, and compare the latter with those of standard $λ$-photon coherent states, which are obtained as a special case. Finally, we briefly review some other types of coherent states associated with the $C_λ$-extended oscillator.

Connection Between Type A and E Factorizations and Construction of Satellite Algebras

Recently, we introduced a new class of symmetry algebras, called satellite algebras, which connect with one another wavefunctions belonging to different potentials of a given family, and corresponding to different energy eigenvalues. Here the role of the factorization method in the construction of such algebras is investigated. A general procedure for determining an so(2,2) or so(2,1) satellite algebra for all the Hamiltonians that admit a type E factorization is proposed. Such a procedure is based on the known relationship between type A and E factorizations, combined with an algebraization similar to that used in the construction of potential algebras. It is illustrated with the examples of the generalized Morse potential, the Rosen-Morse potential, the Kepler problem in a space of constant negative curvature, and, in each case, the conserved quantity is identified. It should be stressed that the method proposed is fairly general since the other factorization types may be considered as limiting cases of type A or E factorizations.

$C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras and some of their deformations and applications to quantum mechanics

$C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras generalizing the Calogero-Vasiliev algebra, where $C_λ$ is the cyclic group of order $λ$, are studied both from mathematical and applied viewpoints. Casimir operators of the algebras are obtained, and used to provide a complete classification of their unitary irreducible representations under the assumption that the number operator spectrum is nondegenerate. Deformed algebras admitting Casimir operators analogous to those of their undeformed counterparts are looked for, yielding three new algebraic structures. One of them includes the Brzeziński {\em et al.} deformation of the Calogero-Vasiliev algebra as a special case. In its bosonic Fock-space representation, the realization of $C_λ$-extended oscillator algebras as generalized deformed oscillator ones is shown to provide a bosonization of several variants of supersymmetric quantum mechanics: parasupersymmetric quantum mechanics of order $p = λ-1$ for any $λ$, as well as pseudosupersymmetric and orthosupersymmetric quantum mechanics of order two for $λ=3$.

PT-symmetric sextic potentials

The family of complex PT-symmetric sextic potentials is studied to show that for various cases the system is essentially quasi-solvable and possesses real, discrete energy eigenvalues. For a particular choice of parameters, we find that under supersymmetric transformations the underlying potential picks up a reflectionless part.
